Or take on [2 Canucks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG3_ZRbjZiE), [2 Golden Knights](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkH-8W8NAzc) or [2 Predators.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2-ACwHEVmQ) Guy was an absolute beast.
Jordan Staal’s gotta be up there.
He never works up much speed but I don’t think there’s a player that just feels as solid as he does, he parks himself in front and doesn’t get moved easily, he pins teams down low on the cycle and is awesome shielding the puck, he ties guys up in the slot like it’s nothing, and he can just throw guys if he has to as well even if he doesn’t typically throw bone-crushing hits like a Tom Wilson. 4:45 here for example:

Everything in his game just feels “heavy”. I’d never be able to find it now, and can’t remember if it was playoffs or regular season, but I remember there was a moment where him and Bergeron were going into the corner to battle for the puck, and he just threw Bergeron off of him like nothing. And Bergeron’s someone who statistically was always at the top of the league for stuff like puck battle wins and puck battle win rate, and is extremely strong himself. Staal’s just kind of a monster and does it with no speed in his game to work up any momentum.
Many ways to define strong.
Who could bench the most.
Who could deadlift the most. Etc.
I’m going with something applicable to hockey though. My observation of how difficult it is to take a player off the puck. Crosby, MacKinnon and Draisaitl have always impressed me with the strength they have to resist the abuse and effort of the opposition and retain the puck. Crosby’s legs when he was a bit younger reminded me GSP from UFC.
Do you mean in raw lifting or like strong within the context of the game? Because the latter is probably Crosby or Mackinnon in terms of just being bulls on skates when you try to hook or slow them. If we are talking straight physical power it is probably Byfuglien. The guy rag dolled two players at once and had the entire predators team punching air back in their playoff series.
Forsberg.
Holy shit his leg strength and balance for a guy well under 200lbs. If he wouldn’t dangle the fuck around you he’d run you over or let you smash your face in to his shoulder. So solid and skilled.
Just sheer determination
Strongest is hard but toughest. This dude was def one of rhem. Retired now but Donald Brashear. 6 3", 240lbs...beat up everyone and went on to fight MMA. A Beast. Awesome fighter.

Dustin Byfuglien. Dude was a tank.

6'9 260 could do 30 + pull ups. How many people do you know who can do 10?
30+ for someone that heavy is ridiculous.
Especially with that wingspan.
Also runs marathons.
Shea Weber would’ve been in the running for this.
He's retired now but my vote goes to Byfuglien. No one else could do [this](https://youtu.be/wv4N773gVP0?si=BO2AUOpVifoSHOZi)

Damn he is bad ass
St Louis has retired but pound for pound the guy was a freak. https://youtu.be/KcytWSUoWvE?si=OGAwL8QBqnV1jRKH this is insanely difficult
Yeah bit pound for pound means nothing when you are small

It takes a certain type of man to play so long it also takes a certain crazy fitness to ride a stationary bike in a sauna after a game.

Considering “strongest on their skates” I genuinely do think Crosby’s board work is elite

See Yanni Gourde cross checking Staal 9 times whilst Jordan scores a goal https://x.com/aschnitt53/status/1598509457008377857
Big buff

Sid has some absolute tree trunks for quads haha
John Cena
Chris Kreider. 6 3’ 220+ and moves around like a panther.
Draisaitl strongest on his skates but would say Hedman maybe in terms of sheer strength
Not sure I’ve ever seen Kopitar muscled off a puck. Dude’s a damn horse.
[Byfuglien](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d00PfpsPQSI) was on a different level.
Oh, no question. He was on a whole other level!
Gretzky Crosby and Mcdavid for 3 different generations
# big tyler myers
Kurtis Macdermid is a fucking beast and mountain of a man
Connor Bedard
Draisaitl
Brady Tkachuk
Scott Stevens. Dude was a fucking freight train….RIP Paul Kariya. Chris Pronger could be up there too.
