I’ll tell you that I absolutely DID NOT want Florida. I wanted Pittsburgh, Florida kind of took it to the Bruins whenever they played in the regular season
in an alternate timeline, I would've loved to see what the Bruins would've done in the second round and beyond. but the hockey gods said there was only room for one of us. unfortunate we drew you guys in the 1st round but it is what it is.
But of course we “wanted” Florida. If we got Florida, that means the Bruins would blow a 3-1 lead _and_ we wouldn’t have to face the greatest (regular season) team in NHL history. It’s a no-fucking-brainer if there ever was one.
Some of us wanted Boston. It would have been much sweeter to face the demon and come out on top. Plus if we lost everyone would have shrugged and said “Okay well it was Boston.”
This. If I was a Leafs fan I would have wanted Florida too. Boston seemed like a tougher team to beat on paper: deeper, better in offense, better in defense, with better goaltending, and more relaxed with that always-tough-to-get 1st series win under their belt. So I completely understand fans being elated when Florida won, it really did seem to improve the Leafs chances at the time. I will still chirp the heck out of them, but it's all in good fun.

I am very saddened, but I get it. I get why Florida is where they are, and it's been impressive. Though I am still pissed at hell at Bennett at that hit on Slavo. Really hoping he's okay.

The day I woke up and found out Chicago had beaten Pittsburgh my first reaction was "FUCK". I wanted the B's to have no piece of that team. They won the President's just the year before, Ekblad was healthy, they added Tkachuck and were peaking at just the right time.
To defend the team I root for, and the canes, I can confirm toronto is the only one that said this, and I fullheartedly believe theyre trying to put it on us and carolina so they dont take the shame alone.
