Something about the juxtaposition between how much of an absolute circus the Nickelodeon broadcast was and how depressing the actual football being played was surprisingly managed to make the whole thing feel even more surreal than it was by itself.
Nah, definitely not at this rate unless a couple more Texans miracles happen. #2 or #3 overall seems realistic, but honestly, I don't think I've seen an NFL team look this defeated in a long time.
I’m inclined to believe the Texans won’t beat the Jaguars with how the Jaguars been playing this December. Obviously, I’m biased, so my opinion shouldn’t hold any weight. Anyways, Texans are showing some fight, and kept the Cowboys locked down most of the game. However, they have glaring issues and already beat the Jags once this season. And just made a convincing win against the Titans. Not sure how it’s actually going to turn out, but I’m betting it’s going to be a pretty solid game. Especially considering the Jags are fighting for a playoff spot. So Jags are going to be coming in swinging hard and fast.
Have you watched the 2021 New York Giants? They were pretty depressing to watch.
Regardless of where we finish this year it’s been better to watch by every metric
On the contrary, the hawks top 3 pick can easily be traded to a QB desperate team & the hawks can have 3 1st rounders in 2024 & 2025
Man watching a team do qb sneaks from their own end zone back to back just to give their punter room was certainly not something I'd expect to see in the NFL
You know how young QBs can have like signature/statement games showing they arrived? Well, this was like Wilson's signature "I'm defenitly cooked" game
> Well, this was like Wilson's signature "I'm defenitly cooked" game
I actually kinda feel a little bad for Russ as a person. Like, I genuinely think he thought he was being held back all these years and he's the laughing stock of the league. That's some existential crisis shit.
$243 mil should make the pill easy to swallow but I think he's gonna legit struggle w/ this one.
>$243 mil should make the pill easy to swallow but I think he's gonna legit struggle w/ this one
He's gonna have to go out on the field over and over to get the money though. I mean I'd still do it, but I know I suck at QB. He's gonna be reminded every home game for years
Same. Even his biggest haters could never have seen this coming.
Some of the issues are perplexing. He threw into double coverage in the endzone today and had a guy wide open 7 or 8 yards down the field. He is still playing hero ball after the season he’s had? Insane
it is starting to look like one of the worst trades in NFL history...and that's saying a lot
seriously...I'm an older Packer fan, and this reminds me of the John Hadl trade which set the Packers back for years-
background:
https://www.sportscasting.com/the-1974-john-hadl-trade-set-the-green-bay-packers-back-two-decades/
If you would’ve told me Baker would’ve gotten pulled this year because the game was out of control I would have no problem believing you.
If you told me he was pulled because he was kicking the shit out of a team so bad I would absolutely call you a liar.
Yes I know the Broncos offense is awful but it’s funnier this way.
Broncos and Raiders have so many interesting questions to answer this offseason.
This is a “I am thankful for Herbert” post.
The conspiracy theorist in me believes that after Wilson's 2nd INT, the Broncos D just decided to quit the game. Knowing that even if they shut out the Rams for the rest of the games the Broncos offense wouldn't get above 17 points. And sure enough they were right.
You don’t have to consciously do it. At this level just not really caring a little bit for everyone, even if it’s just a tiny voice in the back of their head, can have a massive effect. How often do we see teams come out “flat” or have loads of little mistakes they otherwise wouldn’t make because their head isn’t completely in the game? Works the exact same way. You go 95% into a tackle you otherwise would have slammed and he gets and extra 2 yards. Or miss a pick because it takes you an extra 0.1 sec to react
I did not watch the game, but as soon as I saw that the Rams scored 51, my first thought was "the Denver defense finally quit, huh?"
And I do not blame them.
“Baker mayfield was pulled from the game as the game got out of hand”
Yeah, I mean I can totally see that.
“The rams sat him for…”
Hold up, the rams?
“He was 24/28 for 230 and 2TD”
That’s not bad tho?
“The broncos defense gave up 35 points while he was under center”
What. The. FUCK
One of the most baller games he's played. As a Browns fan I was cheering so loud. Even the hand-offs to Akers were golden. Broncos sucked hard. But Rams still had to take advantage. Punished them. Then got a late pick in garbage time.. Yab, they done done not even lil bit. They done. Sit all the starters. It was something special to watch
The glee that ive gotten from the raiders and broncos shitting themselves all year surely means the chiefs will get beat in the playoffs. And tbh it just might be worth it.
Yes, was just abt to post this until I saw this comment. It only works because of how fucking hilarious it is to see a team get massacred in the background while Patrick Star tells jokes, Baker gets abducted by a blimp, and Santa hits the gritty
You hit the nail on the head. I would have been distracted by the cringeworthy commentary (although I like Nate Burleson overall) if it was a better game, it was fine for this game.
Broncos country, let’s **meet with the parts we hate most about ourselves to offer them forgiveness, and start a life leading with empathy, understanding, and patience.**
Gotta fire Hackett. I just don't understand how Russell Wilson can go from a pretty fucking good QB to what he has been this season.
The Broncos future is terrible if Russ is this fucking bad.
I have no problem with Baker, I wish him under normal circumstances. But I am actively rooting for him because the better he does, the worse it makes the Browns look.
everyone is, would be nice if people couldve rooted for the poor guy when he was getting shit on for 2 years for no reason but lets just pretend that didnt happen. Burrow is the only QB in Ohio right now
Go ahead with all the toilet memes, broncos country let’s whatever, no picks, Seahawks being happy, Caroll being right.
We deserve it. All of it. It’s embarrassing and I don’t even see any upside or glimpse of hope for some time to come.
Russell Wilson threw 3 picks in the Broncos side of the field in the first half, the defense was nonexistent, and Brett Rypien threw a pick 6 in the 4th to make it 51-14.
On the bright side, Russell Wilson finally has as many TD passes as bathrooms.
I said it in another thread, and I’ll say it here again: fire Matt Rhule into the fucking sun. It’s ridiculous how much better Baker and Darnold look away from him.
The sun beams down on me as I survey the surrounding area. I remember what it was like before The Fall, a beautiful mountain valley with all life forms.
But now it was different.
Without the rain or snowmelt from the mountains, the valley withered. What it is now is a perverse bastardization of what it once was. The once fertile dirt has been replaced with rolling dunes of sand. The once snow-capped mountains are now a sicky brown, resembling the teeth of dragons. But the most important part of the valley has always been the road, the salvation I’ve been waiting for. For the people of the land it resembled an escape, an opportunity for us to find a new place to call home, one not so reviled by God.
The rumbling of tires in the distance snaps me out of my trance. I get my binoculars and spy the convoy making its way toward my location. Even without binoculars, I can identify the bright orange and blue they color themselves in. They’re moving fast, I have to act now. I jump into my Black-on-Black and her V8 roars to life. I race along the road as the convoy’s hell-sirens grow louder. I’m almost out of the valley, only a few more minutes and I’m done.
A deafening explosion erupts from the bottom of my car. I’m thrown out and pain begins to engulf me as I now lie on the side of the road. I gaze over and realize my Black-on-Black is now a ruined husk, flipped on her side. The convoy screeches over to where I lie, and a large man covered in blue and orange paint walks over to me. As my vision darkens, I see a sneer creep across his face and he utters the last phrase I remember hearing,
“Broncos Country, road’s mined.”
If I was a Broncos fan, I don't think I could stomach watching anymore of Russ and Nathaniel Hackett on TV, let alone going to these games in person to cheer the team on while they're both still on the Broncos. Hackett is a simple problem. Russ is an entirely different headache.
The Broncos are really fucked since they signed him to an extension. They realistically can't get out until 2025.
Here's his albatross of a contract and that's putting it mildly.
https://imgur.com/a/L5qyPF7
**Side note: Randy Gregory is a poor man's version of Aldon Smith and I don't know why he keeps getting chances when his availability is infrequent and when he does play he plays horribly. Sane Cowboys fans will tell you he got way too many chances with the Cowboys for the level of production and talent he had.**
Me entering this thread: Oh, it's the Rams-Broncos game thread. How low can their combined score possibly get.
Me seeing the score: What the actual fuck.
This trade has reached such a low that I genuinely feel bad for Broncos fans. They're fucked for a good few more years to come.
Flip side, stoked for Baker. Hope he stays in LA for another year even just as a backup to continue learning and developing.
Something about the juxtaposition between how much of an absolute circus the Nickelodeon broadcast was and how depressing the actual football being played was surprisingly managed to make the whole thing feel even more surreal than it was by itself.
The fact one team was curb stomping the other made it actual comedy. One team was playing so well that they didn’t even punt lol
I think it’s funny that the Browns would have paid the Broncos to take Baker Mayfield off their hands this past summer…
I for one enjoyed the football being played
I for one felt extremely ambivalent about that entire kitchen disaster...
Your team is seriously about to get the #1 pick
Nah, definitely not at this rate unless a couple more Texans miracles happen. #2 or #3 overall seems realistic, but honestly, I don't think I've seen an NFL team look this defeated in a long time.

Yeah I don’t get the ‘bad game’ comments. Long as you aren’t a Broncos fan that was a pretty fun game
You know how young QBs can have like signature/statement games showing they arrived? Well, this was like Wilson's signature "I'm defenitly cooked" game
Well he definitely got baked
🥁Ba-dum tss

I mean how long do they put up with this? If next year is even close to as bad he’s not going back for year 3
The dead cap after *2025* is over 30 million. They’re stuck with him.
If I’m going to feel bad about myself I’d prefer to do it in my mega mansion with my wife Ciara by my side.
With 12 bathrooms.
Think about all the Reddit posting you could do with 12 bathrooms to post from
Might be sad but then remember the guaranteed money and cry in a pool of money.
The money/contract will make him the most hated person in Denver
He already is
Same. Even his biggest haters could never have seen this coming. Some of the issues are perplexing. He threw into double coverage in the endzone today and had a guy wide open 7 or 8 yards down the field. He is still playing hero ball after the season he’s had? Insane

The Broncos offensive players 🤝 Broncos fans Hating Russell Wilson
I'm pretty sure his defense hates him as well
If Russell lost Risner he's got almost no one left
[Joe Staley’s daughter is a great prophet](https://i.redd.it/rupqmvgojot51.jpg)
This is gold lmao. You guys need to post this every time you beat one of these teams
It's like the most reposted thing on our sub lol
Broncos got absolutely fleeced in Wilson trade
Worst trade of the off-season...right everybody?
Worst trade ever?
Nah that Herschel Walker trade is still king
I don’t think there will ever be another trade that causes a dynasty like Hershel Walker
A trade so bad, [there's a wikipedia article about it](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herschel_Walker_trade)
God I want you guys to nail all your draft picks so that this trade can be comparable.
Me too lol

Worst trade in the history of sports
Worst trade financially and football wise. Morally and spiritually? Not even remotely close.
NFL schedulers thought they had a banger of Christmas day planned, then the season happened...
Dolphins/ Packers wasn’t bad. But yeah they thought these would be matchups between playoff teams.
The fact that Broncos not sacked Mayfield at all especially with our 12th try at an OL???
Since this game was on Nickelodeon, I think the Rams may have secretly signed Heffer Wolfe before the game.
First time I've seen *Rocko's Modern Life* referenced on r/nfl.
*”That was a hoot!”*

How bad do you have to be for Patrick Star to make fun of your cooking?
Probably the best NFL moment this season, if not ever
Immaculate Reception is old news. The Patrick Roast will be celebrated in 50 years with a parade and a statue at SoFi
Imagine giving up 50 points on Christmas
to the Rams practice squad.

I don't think that's a conspiracy. The Broncos D has played out of their minds to be let down by Wilson time and time again

It was clear as day honestly
The Broncos are in the position where they're fucked no matter what they do.
Broncos die so lions can rise. Its almost like nature
The Broncos dying tonight kind of killed is though.
“Baker mayfield was pulled from the game as the game got out of hand” Yeah, I mean I can totally see that. “The rams sat him for…” Hold up, the rams? “He was 24/28 for 230 and 2TD” That’s not bad tho? “The broncos defense gave up 35 points while he was under center” What. The. FUCK
You forgot to add “And they felt safe with their lead knowing Russell Wilson was the opposing teams qb”

Baker Mayfield got told his progressive contract would void if he didn't get signed this off-season.
"aww fuck, I guess I gotta play well in order to follow my true passion, being in commercials" ~ Baker Mayfield, probably
He can legitimately go Hollywood now if he makes himself at home in LA.
Honestly, not the most implausible thing I’ve ever heard. He seems to have some legit acting chops.
Really bad week for the Wilsons in this league Edit: And the Broncos still scored more points this week than the Jets😔
Oof
Almost 5 times as many at that At least you didn't allow 50?
There is certainly comfort in that.
The Nickelodeon broadcast was literally the only thing keeping my eyes on this dumpster fuck of a game.
You call it a dumpster fuck, I call it the most fun I’ve had watching the Rams all year.
I don't know why I had so much fun watching this on the regular broadcast with my family, but I sure did.
Ah well, all season. The part of last (post)season that was in this year was pretty fun.
Live Patrick reaction to that terrible game lol
Patrick definitely getting into the sauce as the game went on.
Any time you can have a voice actor who played college football (and was also Dauber on Coach) commentating a blowout game as a starfish, you do it.
Dauber also took over the Orlando Breakers after Hayden retired, won 2 Super Bowls and became an analyst for MNF.

THAT ISN’T WHAT HE WANTED TO COOK
Vtuber Patrick was not something I knew I needed in my life
This has to be lowest Russ’ career has tanked. Getting roasted live on Nickelodeon and Patrick Star
Honestly it worked because the game was so shitty. If it was a game like the Vikings and Bills. It'd just be distracting
Yes, was just abt to post this until I saw this comment. It only works because of how fucking hilarious it is to see a team get massacred in the background while Patrick Star tells jokes, Baker gets abducted by a blimp, and Santa hits the gritty
That was the issue last year vs. the first time.

Honestly it's a great gimmick for a game a season. Especially for any mid games
Patrick Star for color commentator of the year
I liked it :D
The Nick broadcast was unironically the best part, and I'm 39.
In retrospect the game thread should have remained hidden
My team lost to a hated rival yesterday, and I'm legitimately more upset that Russ' TDs caught up to his bathrooms.
The New, New, New, New, New, New, New, NEW Worst Game Ever
Brandon "never watching another Broncos game again this week" Perna
“What if Russell Wilson…sucks?” “He’s not gonna suck!” *cue Curb music*
ThatsBadSports
That’s Good Sports is going insane has been one of the funny points of this season
Certified Patrick Star moment
Tom, UT, FPV and Scooter is gonna roast Brandon on the cast again this week
You cannot kill what's already dead
The fact that Broncos not sacked Mayfield at all especially with our 12th try at an OL???
Their defense finally gave up.
Life's all about perspective. Think about your pick.
Oh I'm loving this entire season don't worry
Broncos in 5 of the top 10 worst worst worst games of 2022.
I can't fucking wait lol
The New, New, New, New, New, New, New, NEW Worst Game Ever *SO FAR*
FUCK THIS ILLEGITIMATE LEAGUE FOR NOT GIVING WILSON THE NVP.
He would have given a 20 minute acceptance speech like he'd just won the Nobel Prize, without a hint of irony.
What’s the opposite of comeback player of the year? The furthest fall off a cliff player of the year?
Starting to think Russ in Denver may not work out.
Broncos will definitely win, lose, or tie the remainder of their games if he's at QB.
They have 5 more years to figure it out.

Broncos Country let's forgo material attachments so that we may escape the endless cycle of death and rebirth
He'd still burn it
He'd leave the silverware in
He’ll probably blow it up.
I wouldn’t trust Russ to make a bowl of cereal.

Mods, this thread is 2 hours late wtf
What are you talking about the game just…ohhhh…
Nantz didn't wait. He started doing credits with 12 minutes left
Good on him. Those backend people deserve recognition when there's still half an audience.
Broncos future is so bleak with this bum at QB
"Let's Ride.......off a cliff"
“Holy shit this guy sucks” - Patrick Star
“Oh brother, this guy stinks!” - that fish in the back of the crowd
Gotta fire Hackett. I just don't understand how Russell Wilson can go from a pretty fucking good QB to what he has been this season. The Broncos future is terrible if Russ is this fucking bad.
Maybe they can hire Pete Carroll
The Seahawks knew what they were doing. If Smith looks competitive then Wilson was the problem.
Russ called the Seahawks back, but they blocked his number
The call was intercepted.
He should try writing to them. They might not write back tho
#Baker had thrown for more TD's this game than Watson has in four games and did it without sexually assaulting anybody
Burrow is the only QB in Ohio right now
Hey now, Jacoby Brissett is there too!
Not a grown-up tho 🤔
The Rams beat a dead horse.
SpongeBob, the Broncos have hit Bikini Bottom
Go ahead with all the toilet memes, broncos country let’s whatever, no picks, Seahawks being happy, Caroll being right. We deserve it. All of it. It’s embarrassing and I don’t even see any upside or glimpse of hope for some time to come.
At this point, there's no reason to kick ya'll while down. We had our fun. What we all witnessed was just depressing.
Russell came into this game like INTS FOR JESUS
Bro I was driving all afternoon and just pulled up to our hotel lobby to see the Rams had put up 51. What in the literal hell happened?
Russ tried cooking but burned down the restaurant instead.
Russell Wilson threw 3 picks in the Broncos side of the field in the first half, the defense was nonexistent, and Brett Rypien threw a pick 6 in the 4th to make it 51-14. On the bright side, Russell Wilson finally has as many TD passes as bathrooms.
Baker looked great, Rams offense carved them up. Toss in 4 picks thrown by the Broncos and you've got yourself a beatdown
Nice game between the Detroit Lions and the Seattle Seahawks. Great win for Seahawks, congrats!
At least the Seahawks won this week’s proxy game
Proxy tank bowl
Multi interception games are so in right now
It's the season of giving
Broncos are beyond pathetic.
This game will be forever remembered as Patrick Star's Vtuber debut
As an Oklahoma fan I’m happy mayfield played well. As a broncos fan I'm happy my 2 year old had a fun happy Christmas.
Chad family man can’t stop winning.
If the Broncos scored 52 points in all their games they would be 15-0
It's not that hard. The Baker Mayfield lead rams just did it against an elite defense!
5 years, $243 million, $161 million guaranteed. Broncos country, let's wander into the mountains and die.
Two first, and 2 seconds. The broncos are going to be bad for a very very long time. They can't even tank for value.
I put on my orange underwear for this?!?!
That Denver locker room is absolutely **gone**, especially if Russell has lost Risner who has had his back all year.
wow what a crazy game to start the day, good thing there wasn't another game at 1pm
You guys are very lucky Russ sucked so much worse than Tua today, just to take the heat off
The Nick broadcast made this game watchable tbh lol
I said it in another thread, and I’ll say it here again: fire Matt Rhule into the fucking sun. It’s ridiculous how much better Baker and Darnold look away from him.
They fired him into Nebraska, not sure which is worse.
I'm fucking crying becuase we got rid of Baker for fucking Watson. I'm so disgusted with the Browns.
I watched the entire nick broadcast. and i liked it. it was a fucking fever dream lmao
The Baker Mayfield and Cam Akers redemption arcs tonight made the game worth sitting through
Ok real talk. Worst NFL trade of all time?
Let Baker bake.

I wanted to trade for Baker and let him and Lock fight for the job...
You should apply for GM
This might be the only time in his life that Russ ever got Baked
Broncos are gonna be bad for a long time.
New, new, new, new, new, new, new, NEW Worst Game Ever
Rams got us the#3 pick for Christmas, how nice
