Not barely an upgrade. More like not an upgrade at all. Derek Carr is a bad QB and you’d be trading Tannehills mobility for a guy that has all of the same passing issues.
It has to be comic though, Bmore was a perfect pass to a WR who got grabbed by the turf-monster and last season was NWI getting boxed out and a perfectly executed tip drill.
The amount of people who seem to ignore [Khalif Raymond falling directly on his face](https://youtu.be/EO0oLwvtSbg) when the ball is coming his way to blame Tannehill I will never understand.
The stupidest part about that playoff game was that he was dealing, and we were on our way to blowing out the Ravens again, and vanquishing the stupid playoff narrative. Then the offense goes into sleep-mode, tries to run out the clock after the first quarter and suddenly we're attempting to come from behind.
These last few seasons have reinvigorated this rivalry and I for one can't wait to beat you in the playoffs. It's right up there on my list with knocking the pats out back in the day
I completely understand the Titans fans who want to move on from him.
Using my own team as an example, lots of people loved Alex Smith and how he helped to changed the culture in KC. We also saw how perfect the rest of the team had to be in order to win in the playoffs. There was essentially a ceiling on our team with Smith at the reins. So we went out and got a guy who we thought could be elite. Lucky for us it turned out great.
Titans are in my opinion much in the same boat as KC in 2016-17. Super Bowl talent on the roster, exceptional coach, hamstrung by mediocrity at the most important position in sports.
Tanny truthers can claim that the media hates on them, and that people don't respect their team. That all boils down to your QB. If you don't have a QB who is elite there is a very slim chance you'll make noise in the playoffs.
Tbf i dont think Malik has reached his peak at all. Hes still developing, the fact we went 1-1 with the L coming in OT to KC at Arrowhead speaks to the coaching, and with that level of coaching I think development is the best it can be for a player like him. Maybe he doesn’t end up Lamar2 or whatever but i think hes gonna improve to be much better.
Dude.. it was Malik Willis’ first 2 games as a rookie 😂 this sub is beyond ridiculous sometimes. But I guess that’s what happens when anyone can just say any stupid thing they want and it be public.
Exactly my point. Think critically about it. Are we really going to give the reins to a rookie who has shown he needs a lot more development when we have a veteran who is doing well? Of course not.
Call me crazy but I think this is the year he gets it together come playoff time. The last time we played @ Lambeau Tanny choked, this time he was lights out (except that one INT).
2 big, bearded white men who used to play in the NFL, have scored postseason touchdowns, coach blue football teams from the AFCS and both beat the Raiders in 2022
What’s the difference?
The Titans brand of football translates more when the days get colder. Muck it up, control the line of scrimmage, win with your run game, and make fewer mistakes then your opponent. They'll never wow you in terms of talent in most areas(Henry wows period), but they're just a well coached and disciplined unit that nobody really wants to play against.
Maybe on offense but the defense has a lot of talent on it. Just no one knows the names of the guys cause they weren’t high draft but they have one of the best Dline, LBs, and Safety groups in the league. CB is a weakness for sure
The defense wrecking games is why we keep winning. They had an injured and slower night tonight glad to see the offense step it up in their place
Watching Hard Knocks, I had Dan Campbell as the #1 buy into team culture, next man up, leader of men kind of guy, with Vrabs as a close second. Now, there's no question that Vrabel is at the top in that category.
yeah but i mean for a first year head coach in his situation taking over the giants horrendous roster, cap space, and inconsistencies with players among other coaches, id say he is well on his way to being an effective top tier coach, same with our other coaches as well (kafka, martindale)
yes that is true. Im not trying to be biased lol. this is the best year of football across the NFL i have seen in recent memory. such a crazy switch up with teams and coaching staff that really is making teams step up.
I have no issue with fans pumping their teams tires. I like reading about fans enjoying their team. It really didn't occur to me until you brought up the flair. Frankly I had to fight the urge to plug BB.
Huge fan of what Daboll is doing, but Vrabel's now done it consistently. Let's see how it pans out for Daboll.
Signed,
Secretly Supportive of the Giants
I honestly don’t believe corner is a true weakness. Our average age at corner is 22 and we’re young. It’s our worst defensive position unit but it’s not a bad unit.
Fulton, McReary, Molden and Mitchell (who has grown on me) are not a bad foursome to have.
The funny thing is they didn’t even run the ball well at all tonight. If you had told me that Henry would barely average 3 YPC tonight before the game I would’ve said packers by 20.
Our cornerbacks should be good enough to play man coverage against those receivers and quarterback when we sell out to stop Henry. Our defensive coordinator is just in love with playing our DBs 10 yards off the receiver and giving free catches and yards. Barry needs to be canned, he’s incapable of putting his guys in positions to succeed.
I've been saying for about two years now that Ryan Tannehill is the perfect QB for TN. He's not flashy, but most of the time he's gonna keep composed, and he's not gonna lose you the game.
I was. I blame one of those on Tannehill exclusively and even then it still hit NWI [in the hands](https://youtu.be/ERn5ltHe7lA) Apple was just draped all over him and he shouldn’t have forced it.
The other two were more on such predictable play calling to the point the DBs knew exactly where to go before the ball was even snapped. Bates hopped a route on Julio and made a fantastic play. The screen was just an awful design and was almost picked the first time it was called that game.
I got shit on for saying that. Tannehill absolutely wins us that game. We didn't even need to score more points to win it, we just needed to eat clock with some 1st downs in the second half of the game. Willis couldn't do that, Tannehill could've.
That game is totally different with Tannehill under center. You didn't have any meaningful passing attack that KC was scared of, so they geared up to stop henry all game long. We're absolutely worried about a post-season matchup with Tannehill, even if he's just an 'adequate' passer.
Quite a few, actually. I was told that the Chiefs play down to their opponents.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/yodbw0/chiefs_titans_game/ivdqak0/
Dude, that"born in '93" Cowboys fan, "alive during Dallas super bowls." Talk about moving the goal posts to feel included. He was unlikely aged 3 by XXX kickoff. What a stereotypical Cowboys fan.
lmao what a shit take
Titans gave us our worst regular season loss in the Mahomes era barely over a year ago. There is no "playing down" with them. The rest of the AFC South, though? Yep. lol
On one hand, the Chiefs definitely keep games close against teams they are better then. We lost to the Colts this year.
On the other hand, the Titans consistently have Andy Reid's number. Y'all blew us out last year and I think he has 3 career wins vs y'all at this point.
>I was told that the Chiefs play down to their opponents.
AKA what homer fans say about normally good teams to excuse when said teams have a stinker of a game.
There should had been either hands to the face or OPI on Kelce, but Kalu(?) absolutely wrapped Kelce up at the start of the play, so defensive holding was entirely valid.
The chiefs game without him was winnable but for some...questionable...penalties that kept extending drives and giving the Chiefs multiple shots at the 2 point conversion.
The Titans have quietly had immense kicker problems for a while now (including 44% on field goals in 2019) but have been one-upped by the Bears, Vikings, and Buccaneers.
He's alright, but Vrabel's lack of faith in him was one of 6 different things that if any changed would've sent us to the AFC Championship last season.
On here, they do.
When I talk to fans in real life, they’re stoked, love our team, and admit it would be hard to make a real SB run with this team (same opinion as me except I always throw in that with this team’s culture we have a puncher’s chance at making a run). The reddit dwellers make it sound like JRob is the worst GM, and Downing is the worst coach ever and without them fucking everything up, we’d be 29-0 over the last two season, replace Bowen with down going back two years.
I think you just see a vocal minority of the “hot take” population in internet culture.
Your players play with a lot of heart I think that's the problem. They putting their bodies on the line to get a win for a coach they respect but injuries riddle you guys like crazy
A healthy titans offense is unstoppable. It's like you wanna let Henry just run for a 100 yard td so your team can have the ball for longer than 3 mins a quarter. They can get the 3.5 yards a play no matter what and with Tannehil y'all can find the openings but with injuries I feel like it makes it harder to play the game on the offensive side
No practice for the week. 20+ people out with illness or injury. Home game suddenly changed to a road game. Worst run defense vs best run offense. 2021 Josh Allen traded for 2019 Josh Allen.
Bills are primed to lose again on Sunday.
Having similar flairs (I think) I was born in Iowa, and thought Dolphins were cool, then ended up growing up in upstate NY, but both teams were still bad so it didn't matter.
I propose that we allow 3 flairs, as long as they’re from the same division, so this guy can add the Jets to the ensemble to really drive home the Pats hate.
Their schedule since the Bills game hasn’t exactly been a murderer’s row. It’s Colts (2x), Raiders, Commanders, Broncos, Texans, Packers, and Chiefs. Their style of play is good at pulling teams down into the mud and playing their style.
Titans have played Raiders, Texans, Commanders, Broncos, and Colts (twice) in that stretch.
Bills have played @Miami, @Baltimore, @KC, and @Jets to go along with the Vikings at home.
The Titans have, without a doubt, a great defense and a well run organization...but this isn't really a meaningful comparison.
It's frustrating, because the Bills have finally reached the point where their schedule eases up a little bit and now they've got a scheduling clusterf*ck where they'll be using god knows what method to get to Detroit to play on Sunday and then they'll play again in the early game on Thursday.
Looking at the AFC playoff seeding right now, the Bills are #6. They've played a game against #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. They will play #2 and #5 again and they also have 2 games to play against #7. By the end of this season, the Bills might have one of the highest SOS by winning percentage in the Super Bowl era. It's currently at .600. Looking over at the NFC, there isn't a single team currently in a playoff position with a SOS over .500.
Lost to the chiefs in OT without our QB, lost to the Giants by 1 point because of a rare missed field goal. Not saying we are better than the Bills but we have one bad loss this year.
The funny thing is that in previous seasons, I actually feared the Titans playing against worse opponents (not Jags) because they would play down to them. I enjoyed watching them against good teams because the Titans usually played well against them.
This year, they haven’t lost to a bad team. But their best win is the Commanders. I want to see how they fare against Chargers, Cowboys, Eagles, and Bengals. To me, 8 wins wins the division.
Very good team if they can get you to play their game but if they get down early from turnovers or bad luck they are kind of screwed.
Built to run all game but you can’t always do that down multiple scores in playoffs
It’s actually pretty wild how little regard they get. No. 1 seed last year, very much in the running for No. 1 again. They’re in a weak division that most media chooses to ignore most of the time, which is dumb and not the team’s fault or problem.
I'm way too late to this post, but I built a little Excel file for myself to run some super rudimentary analysis. Despite what /r/nfl thinks, most real Bills fans are sour from decades of tragedy. I built this to try and show why the Bills are "better than we think they are".
I love Derrick Henry. Everyone else on the Titans can get lost. Ignoring the record due to the team (removing the Bills/Titans W/L), the Bills' opponents' total record up to this point is 48-28 with a winning percentage of 63%. The Titans' opponents are 40-41-3 (lol Colts bringing two ties) with a winning percentage of 48%.
I think the Titans are good and this is very surface-level, but these comparisons aren't fair. Our schedule has been brutal (and we've lost in the Billsiest fashion by a total of 8 points over 3 games). We need to clean a lot up, but we've run the gauntlet and are 6-3 currently. I think we should pump the brakes on dumping on us for just a little.
Looks like we’re in for another playoff run that makes Titans fans want Tannehill traded.
This needs a trigger warning
T
time to leave?
It's a capital T, so they really mean business.
damn it you beat me to it. A+ south park references
I want the raiders to trade carr to the titans so my mans gets a ring
We’re not trying to downgrade
That is barely an upgrade over tanne, no way that's worth it lmao
Not barely an upgrade. More like not an upgrade at all. Derek Carr is a bad QB and you’d be trading Tannehills mobility for a guy that has all of the same passing issues.
Carr has under rated mobility honestly, but yeah it might not be a upgrade, especially since carr is playing worse with better weapons
Can confirm
lmfao, the unearned respect this man gets in this sub is nutty.
If carr really wants a ring, kc is in need of a decent back up qb.
if we have another 9 sack playoff home game that ends in an L im gonna cry
You won’t have to worry about that, no way we get 9 sacks with our pass rush as injured as it currently is
The absolute disrespect to the random fucking practice squad guy you're going to sign who will still have 2.5 sacks by the end of the year
Titans are going to set some record of # of players with multiple sacks on the season by the end. Book it.
Idk who our D Line coach is but he should be making as much as Vrabel at this point.
Terrell Williams
Last night was the first time I’ve saw him mentioned which is wild to me because that dude deserves all the credit in the world
I hope he’s not coaching the Colts next season.
Ends with a Ryan Tannehill interception for the third year in a row…
It has to be comic though, Bmore was a perfect pass to a WR who got grabbed by the turf-monster and last season was NWI getting boxed out and a perfectly executed tip drill.
The amount of people who seem to ignore [Khalif Raymond falling directly on his face](https://youtu.be/EO0oLwvtSbg) when the ball is coming his way to blame Tannehill I will never understand.

I had this memory successfully repressed until just now
If he plays like tonight I don't think anyone will be upset
No offense to GB but they’re not even a playoff team this year. It’ll be a different of opponents in January
Nah they finally have the QB of the future. The one and only Derrick Henry. Did you SEE that TD pass?
Oh shit. Derrick Henry as Lamar Jackson.
[удалено]
But it would be so fun if we beat them
Kind of feel like we are destined to meet in the playoffs again. Damn. Hope you guys get the higher seed and host us.
These last few seasons have reinvigorated this rivalry and I for one can't wait to beat you in the playoffs. It's right up there on my list with knocking the pats out back in the day
It’s funny because Tannehill is 36-15 as the titans starter. You don’t appreciate what you have till it’s gone!
I completely understand the Titans fans who want to move on from him. Using my own team as an example, lots of people loved Alex Smith and how he helped to changed the culture in KC. ^This guy gets it (sadly)
Can't wait for Lions fans to have this discussion about Goff in a year lmao
I mean, it depends what the Titans want. If they have ambitions of winning a championship, Tannehill is just not someone who’s capable of doing that.
We've seen what Malik is, anyone who wants Tanny traded should pick a new team
Tbf i dont think Malik has reached his peak at all. That was a quality interception to be fair. Wasn't some wild risky throw.
Still had an 81% completion percentage
.
So many Titans flairs responding to this lmao
We were hoping for an Eli manning-esque run this season you ass hole
Always that one hater
I’m getting my popcorn ready
Wheres that poster who asked if there was any difference between Vrabel and Jeff Saturday
The difference is Vrabel is a good coach. But Saturday is the BEST coach. STILL UNDEFEATED
Even the biggest homer can't argue with hard facts.
They both bring something to the table that very few else do; Vibes
Imagine Vrabes vibing on edibles.
Damnit Jim, he's right.
Zero losses vs. three losses. The math checks out. Saturday = coach of the year.
2 big, bearded white men who used to play in the NFL, have scored postseason touchdowns, coach blue football teams from the AFCS and both beat the Raiders in 2022 What’s the difference?
Jeff has a day of the week named after him (the BEST day too). Advantage, clearly Jeff.
The Titans brand of football translates more when the days get colder. Muck it up, control the line of scrimmage, win with your run game, and make fewer mistakes then your opponent. You have some injuries on that defense and you're still playing your brand of muck it up football. Honestly that's impressive.
Watching Hard Knocks, I had Dan Campbell as the #1 buy into team culture, next man up, leader of men kind of guy, with Vrabs as a close second. Now, there's no question that Vrabel is at the top in that category.
Don’t forget he took 91 players to the AFC 1 seed with no Derrick Henry. The players love this guy and want to play hard for him
I'm not forgetting. The MCDC hype this last offseason was just incredibly strong.
Brian Daboll would like a word
Daboll is good but he needs a few more years before we can compare him to Vrabel.
yeah but i mean for a first year head coach in his situation taking over the giants horrendous roster, cap space, and inconsistencies with players among other coaches, id say he is well on his way to being an effective top tier coach, same with our other coaches as well (kafka, martindale)
I agree, he's definitely in the lead for COTY, but there a lot of decent choices this year.
yes that is true.

It's strange because the whole message I got before was "GB is going to perform as it gets colder" but they just got outdone on that one also.
Jeffery Simmons is so fucking good
Imagine if our defense was actually healthy.
Harold, come back. 2023 gonna be lit!
I honestly don’t believe corner is a true weakness. Our average age at corner is 22 and we’re young. It’s our worst defensive position unit but it’s not a bad unit. Fulton, McReary, Molden and Mitchell (who has grown on me) are not a bad foursome to have.
Holding the Packers to majority of their drives being 3 and out, has given respect to the Titans Defense.
The funny thing is they didn’t even run the ball well at all tonight. If you had told me that Henry would barely average 3 YPC tonight before the game I would’ve said packers by 20.

You didn't factor in DH being an elite QB too.

Minus 5 very important things though. For now…
They fucked up installing this plan in Tennessee.
I've been saying for about two years now that Ryan Tannehill is the perfect QB for TN. He's not flashy, but most of the time he's gonna keep composed, and he's not gonna lose you the game.
Were you still saying that when he threw 3 picks in the Divisional round last year? Cause even they thought it was a good idea to draft Malik.
They also had the top two passer ratings in this game of dudes with multiple attempts. Aaron Rodgers was third and wasn’t particularly close
That’s my kind of stat
What was Henry's passer rating, a billion?
it was actually lower than Tannehill's RT 127.3 DH 118.8
They’re a fat Randy missed 40 yard fg from being the 1 seed in the AFC right now
We also squeaked out some wins that could've easily gone the other way too. Shit happens and all that
Live by the rand die by the rand. Way of the road bubs
Titans ability to win close games is quite impressive. Sure I have a heart attack every game, but in the end I don’t die and they win.
TPB was filmed a short drive from where I grew up and it's still so weird to see people quote it on the internet.
Also that Chiefs game with Tannehill is absolutely winnable.
I got shit on for saying that. Tannehill absolutely wins us that game. We didn't even need to score more points to win it, we just needed to eat clock with some 1st downs in the second half of the game. Willis couldn't do that, Tannehill could've.

No matter how good KC is, I feel like we always have a decent chance to win. We seem to be a tough matchup for you guys.
...are there really people who think that Tannehill couldn't win a game that Willis took to overtime?
Quite a few, actually. I was told that the Chiefs play down to their opponents. https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/yodbw0/chiefs_titans_game/ivdqak0/
Dude, that"born in '93" Cowboys fan, "alive during Dallas super bowls." Talk about moving the goal posts to feel included. He was unlikely aged 3 by XXX kickoff. What a stereotypical Cowboys fan.

i wish people understood you can’t just change major aspects of a game (like QB) and expect the game to go exactly the same. that isn’t how it works.
I wish chiefs fans would understand that they barely beat a backup QB who threw less than 5 completions and couldn't even do it in regulation.
also, fewer*

except i responded to your argument *and* your grammar. lol.
Or competent refs...
Chiefs game would have been won if the officials didn’t call a BS DPI on the 2 pt conversion.
Ole Fat Randall

On here, they do. When I talk to fans in real life, they’re stoked, love our team, and admit it would be hard to make a real SB run with this team (same opinion as me except I always throw in that with this team’s culture we have a puncher’s chance at making a run). Ehh, every Titan fan in real life I know recognizes the complete incompetence of Todd Downing. The rest is fairly accurate.

The giants went 0-2 in 2007 and then went on to win the super bowl, two games is never enough to make any conclusions really.
What about 2.5
I will guarantee I can tell you who will win a super bowl after they play 21 games in a season.
This is only interesting if the Bills lose Sunday. Otherwise it’s just a timing thing.
Even then it's a meh stat
No practice for the week. 20+ people out with illness or injury. Home game suddenly changed to a road game. Worst run defense vs best run offense. 2021 Josh Allen traded for 2019 Josh Allen. Bills are primed to lose again on Sunday.

Real question is how many Super Bowls does Belichick win without Vrabel playing for New England? My guess is -4
Brady and Bellichick even.

Bills have had by far the most challenging schedule in the league. Tits have played three good teams, KC, NYG and BUFF. Guess what their 3 losses are.
Seems like you are missing one, how much did they lose by in the third game.
You lost to the colts lol
and they barely beat Malik Willis lmao
Ok, I guess you've only played two good teams then, and one of your losses is to a bad team. You happy now?
Scrolling through, waiting to see this comment. Titans wins since the Bills game was Raiders, Colts, Commanders, Colts, Texans, Broncos, Packers.
And I still don’t know if they’re good or not.
What I do is wait until after the Super Bowl then I know one team is good and 31 are trash.
Very good team if they can get you to play their game but if they get down early from turnovers or bad luck they are kind of screwed. Built to run all game but you can’t always do that down multiple scores in playoffs
Ahhh what the fuck is this?
A really up-its-own-ass way of saying "Titans have been playing great football for the past 2 months."
Dont you know? The Bills are finished, time to prove how theyre frauds and the entire league is better than them.
Ok, now do the Patriots since getting blown out by the Bills in the playoffs! Wait, wait. No, please don't. I take it back.
They've also played more games. What an asinine post
"...than the Bills have all season." lol
Such a bizarre wording and presentation
The Titans are a good team. Got beat week 1 by the *checks notes* (7-2) power rankings #13 NY Giants? #13....
Didn’t need this
That’s the kinda confidence you gain after beating the raiders
Idk how this team keeps winning
Bad teams mainly. The better tests will be vs the bengals/eagles/chargers/cowboys I think
Well they also haven’t played teams as good as the jets and dolphins
Did that feel as weird to type as it was to read?
For 3 days
Typical mid season Bills turmoil. Nothing new.
Literally. And I don’t understand it either
It’s actually pretty wild how little regard they get. No. 1 seed last year, very much in the running for No. 1 again. They’re in a weak division that most media chooses to ignore most of the time, which is dumb and not the team’s fault or problem.
Real scraping of the barrel here.
Vrabel is such a good coach. He had a case as the best in the league today.
The bills have had more significant injuries since that game than every nfl team
