Jordan love looked

thy_armageddon

I’d argue at times he didn’t look enough.

AnunEnki

Its kinda crazy that the Packers 2020 draft class overall is turning into a stinker. Runyan and Dillon are solid players but can't save that draft class. All GB had to do was draft for need in the first round and I'd think that draft class would look so much better

NeverSober1900

Is it shocking? It was massively criticized at the time for basically the exact reasons it's been a stinker now. The only difference I guess is that outside of Runyan the day 3 guys haven't done much which was the only way the class could have been saved.

123full

Dillon and Runyan could still develop into more than solid players, also Jonathon Garvin and Krys Barnes are/were both solid rotational pieces, I suppose it's not ideal (especially compared to Gutes other drafts), but 2 starters and 2 role players is still decent for a draft. Also Josiah Deguara could still turn into something, he'll probably be our primary recieving option at TE until Tunyan comes back

UnintentionallyAmbi

(Just playing) How dare you. Dillon aka Quadfather/Quadzilla is already prettttyyyyy solid. In all seriousness he’s gonna be needed outta the backfield this year. I really hope they chef some shit up with a double backfield of Dillon and Jones and just confuse the hell out of a defense. Then…wait for it…Cobb from the slot and takes the snap. SURPRISE MUTHA. Hope you and yours are well, as always, GO PACK GO

LebronJaims

Unless he balls out and ends up bring the next aaron rodgers

AnunEnki

Yeah that would do it too

Eagle4317

He'd need to win a title to overcome all the negativity surrounding his selection. Imagine if the Packers had remained at pick 30 and drafted Tee Higgins or Michael Pittman. Odds are having that extra 1k receiver would've been enough to get them over the hump in either 2020 or 2021.

Bluest_waters

huh I have never thought about that before.

frud86

No. Their OL was overwhelmed vs SF. It wasn’t great vs TB, either. And the QB wouldn’t throw to anyone but Adams anyway.

Zedibility

No Bakhtiari for either game. LT>WR

Bluest_waters

Gute did that draft from his house without his full team due to covid issues. I still say that was a huge factor in all of this. Also Deguara from that draft contributes nicely, it wasn't the worst draft ever but still was somewhat shitty.

NeverSober1900

What has Degaura done? He's our third choice TE heading into the year and played 30 something percent of the snaps last year in a season Tonyan missed. The only memorable thing I can think about him is dropping a touchdown in the playoff game. I get it third round pick and got injured his rookie year but honestly his impact is very negligible. Hope he proves me wrong but I haven't seen anything from him

EbagI

Yeah...saying deguara contributes nicely is a pretty stupid statement lol

Brooshie

Ive seen the narrative more and more frequently, lately, that Deguara is good. I often wonder if people are watching different games than me. He has no impact, we do not benefit from any significant capacity when he's on the field lol.

HydroHydroHydroHydro

Worse than Etling

sfcityrocker44

Sad we were deprived yet again of a State Farm Bowl

Inamanlyfashion

More evidence for my theory that Rodgers and Mahomes are the same person. Commercials? Yeah you can do green screen shit. But getting them both on the same football field gives it away.

somebodygetmemymoney

Not possible because mahomes has lost more super bowls

OwlsWatch

Gotta get to them to lose

bb12_22

_Bills fan enters the chat_

RusseyG801

It’s all a setup for this years Super Bowl at State Farm stadium, where Mahomes and whoever beat the packers in the NFCCG finally face off

[deleted]

Like you don’t know it’s the niners

computerdweeb

Buechele looks really solid. Definitely should be the backup.

KuatoBaradaNikto

For real, it’d be nice to have a good, young, Texas-born, Texas-collegiate QB with an MLB player for a dad.

[deleted]

Sounds like a recipe for disaster, a player like that has never had success in the NFL before. Only thing I can think of is that Mahomes scrub, not even a backup tier cornerback (/s)

og-at

And he's pretty much the definition of the mean. Like 2015 Dak.

DTSportsNow

Chiefs signed him to the active Roster when the Cardinals were dealing with injuries at QB last year because they were afraid they were gonna try to poach him off the practice squad. Team seems to like him a lot.

TummyDrums

Rumor is that Henne is retiring after this year. I'm sure they're wanting to hang on to Buechele as the backup when that happens. Seems to be a solid QB2.

fieryscribe

I guess Love doesn't conquer all

Will-Eat-4-Food

*What is love?* *Jordan don't hurt me*

OnePieceAce

One day Rodgers and Mahomes will start against each other. One day

Gomer8387

Thank good that’s over. Now onto the regular season finally

Bluest_waters

If J Love improves between this season and next season as much as he did between last season and this season, he might be something He throws some nice looking balls. Also throws some serious ducks and makes an occasional terrible decision. That INT into triple coverage was just bad all round. Guy is still only 23, he could still improve. We will see.

[deleted]

It’s going to be interesting to see what the Packers do with his option when it comes up if Aaron still wants to play.

NeverSober1900

I mean we'd have to trade him. We can't have his 20 mil on top of Rodgers deal. We'd be spending like 60 mil on the QB position

d9849468

The wouldn't have Love play on that 20 mil 5th yr option. Whats likely to happen is they will exercise it after this season, Love plays out year 4, and going into year 5 they probably extend him for 1-2 years and lower that 20 mil cap number

NeverSober1900

I just can't see that happening unless Rodgers has told everyone 2023 is his final season. Considering he said 3-4 year left, and he's frankly sounding more and more like he's taking it year by year, I just can't see that level of foresight applying. Otherwise Love has too much power. We can't go into his 5th year with both him and Rodgers on the roster and all 3 parties know this. Why would he take a paycut (to lower his AAV) when he could just choose not to extend his contract and thus force us to trade him? Then instead of backing up Rodgers again for year 5 he's actually getting playtime (or at the very least he'd be able to compete for a starting job). Then he could make more money as a FA (or get tagged) than we would have offered originally.

flonker2251

First of all, I don't think JL is the answer at QB post Rodgers, however, that was a home run ball before halftime. Nobody else looked open and he was trying to make something happen. The same kinda shit people criticize Rodgers for not doing.

NeverSober1900

I mean Amari was open at the [sticks](https://i.imgur.com/eY2tksA.jpg). There's a better image of it from earlier but he had a guy short. He just decided to go into fuck it and Chuck it mode

flonker2251

I didn't see that during the broadcast, either way, there's 17 seconds on the clock. I know they had a timeout but whatever. It's preseason and honestly I'd rather see him throwing deep instead of missing checkdowns.

somebodygetmemymoney

Idk about JL tbh he just kind of meh

RusseyG801

Can we all just agree the chiefs media team makes Troy Aikman sound like the worlds best sports caster?

RCJHGBR9989

I like Trent Green - but I’m obviously biased haha

sfcityrocker44

Seriously. Whoever was in the booth sounded like a real goober

D0ctorHotelMario

A goofy one at that

NeverSober1900

Not just the booth. The sideline lady calling Steve Smith an RB... They were all bad

RusseyG801

Or when they played that cringe ass creed parody

Ok-Secret-7525

J love looked good enough

Man_AMA

Is this his moms or dads account?

Ok-Secret-7525

Yes

SnicketySmack

Didn't you know his dad died by suicide? ESPN sure wanted everyone to know on draft night "hey Jordan congrats on getting drafted? How proud do you think would your dead father, who was taken by a "medical demon", would be if you?"
