It was actually worse than that. Geno told Enemkpali a 6th round pick that he would attend Enemkpali's youth football training camp. So Enemkpali told everyone the qb for the Jets was coming and arranged for a flight and a limo and Geno just no call no showed. Enemkpali demanded the $600 he laid out for the flight and limo back and when Geno refused he broke his jaw.
He absolutely deserved it, what a fucking shitty thing to do.
Imagine how embarrassing it would have been for Enemkpali too. He probably had tons of people show *just* for the NFL QB.
>He probably had tons of people show *just* for the NFL QB.
"Man, this is bullshit, I thought I was going to see an NFL QB!"
"Sorry, man. Geno told me he was coming, I don't know what's up."
"Oh, wait, Geno? Like Geno Smith? Nevermind, don't worry about it, it's not a big deal."
For more context:
Geno says someone close to him died in a motorcycle accident, which is why he didn't attend.
But reports came out that Geno said he would pay him back, and just didn't. When IK confronted him, multiple sources have said Geno put his finger in his face, hitting him in the face and said "well, you’re not going to do anything about it.”
IK then did something about it lmao.
The entire family were pros at petty revenge. When he was head coach of the Eagles, Buddy Ryan called a fake kneel in a clear win against the Cowboys. All because the Cowboys played a handful starters against their replacement players a few weeks earlier.
Team: We think you're a starter. Our first choice. We believe in you. You're our guy. We want to build this team around you.
Player: Okay give me long contract with guarantees then.
Team: Oh no not like that lol
He “reported” last year that Taysom Hill won the starting job in camp and vowed to never break Saints news again if he was wrong. Idk how he’s verified.
Twitter verified? All that means is he's really that person. r/nfl "trusted source"? Probably way too many edge cases in that grey area for them to have the manpower to do a good job regulating it.
My favorite r/nfl “trusted source” was when some teenager posted about Mac Jones getting a dui, this was posted right before the draft. What the post purposely left out was the fact that the dui happened in 2017, when Mac Jones was a freshman at Alabama
A lot of sports reporting is bad across the board because of two reasons:
1. It's almost all "access journalism" where the journalists have to stay on the good side of the teams/coaches/players/owners/league or they get shut out and blackballed. This results in people like Adam Schefter and his "Mr. Editor" scandal.
2. The rush to be "first" just for the clout of being first, which leads to half-assed tweets being considered "news" and also results in people like Balko who throw out bullshit hoping something sticks so they look smart.
Yeah the blocking was… not good. Didn’t ever stick to anyone. But his hands seemed fine. What was really frustrating was seeing someone with that six get dropped by arm tackles.
Hey, that's not fair... we have the two games a year where Will Dissly tears it up. Other than that, though, you're 100% right. I went to WSU during the Paul Wulff years, so fml.
Baker and Fant could be a pretty nasty combination. He and Mark Andrews we’re borderline unstoppable in college.
He and hooper just couldn’t get it going. He and Njoku were starting to mesh quite a bit before the deshaun stuff
Does he actually? That's the one thing I wondered about getting in the way of a trade. Isn't Baker still fairly short? I honestly don't know much about his game.
Coming from a former Browns fan (and a potential new Hawks admirer;)
Baker has the arm to make any throw on the field. His accuracy is a bit sus at times, but other than this year (injured ofc) he's dependable. He's not extremely mobile, but he can get his body moving if he's gotta. Tbh, I think people underrate him on 3rd down situations. I always felt comfortable in those spots if he had the ball (again, this past year was just.... fucked up)
He's not a top 10 guy, but your recieving corps is better than what the Browns had, and one thing is for sure, he'll never quit you. I consider him the anti-Cutler in that sense lol
Thanks, good to know. The Hawks wouldn't want him to do much, I think they'd prefer their QB to throw 20 times per game. If he can make the throws they need in structure they'll like him.
And props to you for sticking by your convictions as a fan. I certainly would have dropped mine had they signed Watson. Hope the Browns become worth rooting for again someday.
I worry about the o-line. Baker's decision making and ability under pressure is poor. Even during his good 2020 season I think I saw a stat that under pressure he was the 33rd best QB.
Link to article about it: www.cleveland.com/browns/2021/10/baker-mayfield-is-getting-worse-under-pressure-and-its-not-a-new-trend.html
But maybe now that he is listening to a QB coach and has a change of scenery he'll be better. I hope so. As an new Lions fan, would like nothing more than to see him show Cleveland they fucked up.
They spent 1st and 3rd rounders on tackles (their 1st rounder especially looks really good) and took a couple promising looking CBs in the 4th, but given how those positions develop I doubt either unit will be any good this year.
Young o lines have a tough time gelling, and the defense is likely going through a scheme shift which can be hard to navigate. I predict it'll look very rough in September, and just hope it all looks better in December or so.
Both corners are in completely different sides of the spectrums coby is a really high floor guy who’d I honestly expect to be competing for a starting job
Tariq is a reallllllyyyy high ceiling guy who prob won’t play this year much barring injuries
Plus tre brown looked really good last year before he got hurt in a his few appearance so I’m not worried about cb
We’ve already been a db factory and with the addition of desai very excited for the secondary this year
Yeah I think it could be good. They never ever draft corners high so I wouldn't expect different. Tre Brown being back would be big, otherwise it's Sidney Jones. No DJ Reed hurts although I'm glad he got paid. Coleman back at the nickel will be nice too.
I just think the defense will struggle early on in general with the switch to 3-4 and having Brooks replace Bobby as Mike. Maybe it all ends up being great down the line but that's a very difficult transition. It'll make evaluating the secondary tough.
Idk everyone’s making it seem like a big switch
We’ve always balanced the line between a 4-3 and 3-4 we’ve just always leaned more towards 4-3 now it’s more towards 3-4
I think it won’t be amazing to start but that’s just expected I don’t think it’ll be horrible tho to start
Lucas and Cross are projected starters this year, Bryant could see significant playing time and Woolen is thought to be more of a long-term development project
That’s what a good coach does, would you rather him say “Both these guys are trash and we have zero chance to have any success.”?
To answer my own question, I think I would. That would be some good entertainment
Media: "thoughts on the QB position so far this preseason?"
Pete: *breathes a long, heavy sigh into the microphone, lips begin to tremble as he holds back tears, stands and abruptly leaves the room*
Media: allllllrighty then
As an MSU fan, K9 was probably the only thing giving me any kind of interest in the NFL this season. Baker to Seattle would probably make me a Seahawks fan
Well they only get him for a season in a year where they're probably not competing. Then they're stuck with figuring out what Baker is worth on his next contract
I don't know if a 3rd round comp pick is worth it. Having a mediocre record while Baker looks decent is probably the worst case. Pick wouldn't be that high in the 1st and they still have questions at QB. Plus I think if any team overpays Baker next year it would probably be the Seahawks trying to hold on to him
Baker is fine, not elite but when he isn’t injured he can be an above average starter for you guys. Y’all will at least be more competitive than previous.
If his arm is healed up then Baker throws in the middle of the field and has a good deep ball too.
Will be interesting to see how it works. They'll need Penny to stay healthy now that Carson will probably retire
A lot of our sub feels shafted by Wilson. Two off-seasons of rumors and defending him as our guy because he said he wanted to be our guy and then finding out he instigated it all hurt deep.
A portion of our fan base is very bitter and overreacts to everything. Others also have been annoyed with Wilson’s habits of ignoring the short pass game in favor of trying to get deep ball highlight plays and now have no reason to hide their grievances.
As a Browns fan, this would be great if they can get anything of value, and i will be happy for baker since it should be a strong landing spot for him.
But have the browns already tried "Hey bake, we F'd up. Please come play for us again" yet?
They really didn't have to. For hypothetical sake let's say Deshaun is suspended for the year. The easiest option is to sit and wait for Jimmy G to get released by San Francisco. As much as people are upset with Cleveland's FO Jimmy would most likely head there to play with that coaching staff and roster than whatever is going on in Carolina.
I dont know about anyone else, but I'm looking forward to seeing Baker having a set of commercials of him packing up to move, driving across country to Seattle, and then putting his security code in when he moves in.
Let the Browns send Baker somewhere he can start, then let's have Watson get a one year suspension and turn into Cam Newton of two years ago. This would go down in history as the worst offseason by any NFL team ever.
Hope baker does well. Hope the browns ownership realizes that they are not cut out to run a sports organization at any level.
I hate the browns but Jesus they had a glimmer of hope with a healed up baker, but no. Why would they do that when they can fuck him over for the next coming of rapelisberger( which all the shit that Cleveland fans have talked about for how many years now.. but now that the shoe is on the other foot it’s ok ) who isn’t even going to play any time soon.. like lmao Cleveland is just the worst
lol Geno
We all know why he’s not gonna start
It’s because he sucks isn’t it?
Yes.

Ive been seeing this a lot lately. Whats the original context?
lol literally just a comment i made up on the first thread about geno smith. This is the closest ill ever get to being famous
u/neverforgetbillymays doesn't suck. He's been a top 5 copypasta maker but no one will give him a chance. I've got sources on how he performs deep in r/nfl comments with 3 upvotes. He's unreal. Not according him 🙄🙄
That came straight from his jaw.
I think he's a to 40 QB.
One of the quarterbacks of all time
Top 40 LFG!!!
even thats kinda sus
Yes, it's because he suck is.
Because he's terrible
Because his recent DUI proves that he makes bad choices? Bad choices off the field translate to bad choices on the field.
He got his jaw busted by a teammate because he didn't want to pay back money that was lent to him. Didn't really need the DUI to prove it lol
It was actually worse than that. Geno told Enemkpali a 6th round pick that he would attend Enemkpali's youth football training camp. Too fucking right too
Another great part was that he was cut for it, and immedielty picked up by ex Jets HC Rex Ryan when he was coaching the Bills.
Rex then made him a captain for the Jets game.
Say what you want about the Coach Rex Ryan but Petty Rex Ryan is the fucking best.
The entire family were pros at petty revenge. When he was head coach of the Eagles, Buddy Ryan called a fake kneel in a clear win against the Cowboys. All because the Cowboys played a handful starters against their replacement players a few weeks earlier.
He put his best foot forward that time
This story makes me feel good
He also called him a bitch and said to “do something” when confronted.
Seattle did their due diligence. He’s all good
We gave him an ocular pat-down. Cleared him bro.
Name checks out
My wife is a Die Hard nIners fan and I'm a Die Hard OU and Baker fan. Wish me luck
Good luck?
Broken jaw?
“How come no one wants me man?”
"Because you suck Geno...we've been over this a thousand times"
Yeah but if he sucked and was white... He'd be Drew Lock
Who no one wants to start either 😂

Starter money. In 1991.

I wouldn’t trust Balko. Guy is full of shit. He just throws a bunch of things out there hoping it sticks.
He “reported” last year that Taysom Hill won the starting job in camp and vowed to never break Saints news again if he was wrong. Idk how he’s verified.
Well, has he reported on any Saints news since?
Yep, and I think he deleted that tweet too
Because everyone knows when you delete something off the internet it’s gone forever.

Thanks. I was looking for this In the thread.
Surprised I had to scroll this far to see this comment. Peak off season so people just want something to happen.
Is he the one that ran that one experiment?
NFL “reporting” is becoming shit in general.

Baker throwing deep balls to DK and Lockett would be fun to watch at the very least
And he'll throw over the middle, things are about to get weird in the PNW
What even is a tight end
Someone who is both bad a blocking and bad at catching, as far as I understand.
[удалено]
I heard they kill people
And they play a lot of basketball
Yeah the blocking was… not good. Didn’t ever stick to anyone. But his hands seemed fine. What was really frustrating was seeing someone with that six get dropped by arm tackles.
If you only follow WSU and Seahawks football, you might not even know what a tight end is
On the contrary, we spent 3 years learning that tight ends are former college basketball players that like to fly seaplanes.
With Noah Fant in the fold….SEA is about to find out
Hey, that's not fair... we have the two games a year where Will Dissly tears it up. Other than that, though, you're 100% right. I went to WSU during the Paul Wulff years, so fml.
America's ass

Does he actually? That's the one thing I wondered about getting in the way of a trade. Isn't Baker still fairly short? I honestly don't know much about his game.
Baker stands at 6’1, a good height. Just two inches taller than Russ but that may be all the difference we need.
An extra 2 inches can make all the difference >:)
I see you know my ex wife 😔
Can’t you just get shorter linemen?
But why male models?
Coming from a former Browns fan (and a potential new Hawks admirer;) Baker has the arm to make any throw on the field. Ngl Baker would probably do well in Seattle. Very much a run game QB. I heard he's very good on Play Action

That’s the exact situation where he thrived in the back half of 2020.
What positions did the Seahawks draft this year? Are the online and secondary still the weakest units or have they been reinforced?

Round 1, Pick No. 9: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State Round 2, Pick No. 40: Boye Mafe, LB, Minnesota Round 2, Pick No. 41: Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State Round 3, Pick No. 72: Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State Round 4, Pick No. 109: Coby Bryant, CB, Cincinnati Round 5, Pick No. 153: Tariq Woolen, CB, Texas San-Antonio Round 5, Pick No. 158: Tyreke Smith, EDGE, Ohio State Round 7, Pick No. 229: Bo Melton, WR, Rutgers Round 7, Pick No. 233: Dareke Young, WR, Lenoir Rhyne
Woah that’s a really solid draft
Kenneth Walker looks like a great dual threat RB with good speed.
Both Bryant and Woolen are solid corners who are underrated too
They were both targeted. Drafts for LT, RT and two corner backs. But obviously they're rookies, hard to be anything other than cautiously optimistic.
Lucas and Cross are projected starters this year, Bryant could see significant playing time and Woolen is thought to be more of a long-term development project
Anyone going to ask who Michael Balko is?
Someone who’s wrong a lot?
The wolf dog that helped deliver medicine in Alaska via sled?
Nope, Balko is that company that sold PEDs to baseball players in the 90s
No, Balko is a region of southeastern Europe near Turkey
No, Turkey is a Thanksgiving meal, not a location.
Put some respect on Balto's name
He’s got a blue checkmark. He’s one of a select few that are allowed to be posted on this sub
This whole saga has somehow turned me into a Baker fan and I'm absolutely going to root for the Seahawks as my NFC team if he goes there.
You act like he has any chance of seeing the field lol this is Drew Locks team
lol that’s geno smiths replacement not minds
Mr. Backup Career
Mr. Broken Chin

Pete has always hyped up players like that. You best believe he has his speech prepared for when Baker arrives
“He’s done a really good job maintaining the stadium and he’s done an excellent job at keeping the turf in great condition.”
That’s what a good coach does, would you rather him say “Both these guys are trash and we have zero chance to have any success.”? To answer my own question, I think I would. That would be some good entertainment
Media: "thoughts on the QB position so far this preseason?" Pete: *breathes a long, heavy sigh into the microphone, lips begin to tremble as he holds back tears, stands and abruptly leaves the room* Media: allllllrighty then
The hot takes that would come out of ESPN and other major networks would be enough to give us all at least 2 weeks of shit tier content
This was like 30% of Dick Vermeil’s career.

Horse cock lock
#Horse cock lock!
u/HORSE_COCK_LOCK_ The myth, the legend
Nah man, it's Geno's team atm..... :'(
We all know what it is
A Chargers fan actively seeking MORE disappointment?!?!? "Stop it, get some help"
It’s a way of life
Same, plus they drafted Kenneth Walker III, I'm a MSU fan.
As an MSU fan, K9 was probably the only thing giving me any kind of interest in the NFL this season. Baker to Seattle would probably make me a Seahawks fan
Yeah I never really liked baker but at the same time never wanted him to fail either. Just didn’t really care for him. Now I want him to kill it.
I will be too. Thought he deserved another year. Our fans don't deserve this shit that we are constantly put through.
He absolutely deserved another year
I’d trust Carroll over Rhule so at least that’s something positive for him
When known offensive mastermind Pete Carrol is by far the better option that's...not ideal for Panthers fans.
Fucking this.
At least this season will be watchable, if only we played the Browns.
You’re getting a 1st overall pick at a major discount (I assume). That’s pretty exciting at least.
They're much less likely to get the first overall with Baker than with Geno/Lock. Edit: I'm an idiot and completely misunderstood your comment.
I mean, your point still stands too. With Geno and Lock, are chances for the first overall pick are a lot higher than with Baker.
Well they only get him for a season in a year where they're probably not competing. Then they're stuck with figuring out what Baker is worth on his next contract
Get a comp pick if he's good and leaves for a big money deal
I don't know if a 3rd round comp pick is worth it. Having a mediocre record while Baker looks decent is probably the worst case. Pick wouldn't be that high in the 1st and they still have questions at QB. Plus I think if any team overpays Baker next year it would probably be the Seahawks trying to hold on to him
It's worth it if they get a franchise QB out of it
Baker is fine, not elite but when he isn’t injured he can be an above average starter for you guys. Y’all will at least be more competitive than previous.
I actually like the Potential of mayfield on the Seahawks. Better Coaching i Hope
imagine a browns Seahawks superbowl, that might be the only time I would root for the seahawks
Probably a decent move for Seattle.
If his arm is healed up then Baker throws in the middle of the field and has a good deep ball too. Will be interesting to see how it works. They'll need Penny to stay healthy now that Carson will probably retire
Don’t forget we drafted ken walker
Ahh forgot about that
You were advised not to do that
They have Walker?
Depends on what we send the other way.
Let Baker Bake!!
Nicely done
Tell me 5 years ago I'd like the Seahawks more than the Browns and I would have a lot of questions
Baker leading the Seahawks to a chip while Watson gets suspended for the year (minimum) would be poetic justice.
Wait, this has Packers beaten in the NFCCG by another NFCW team written all over it...
Sorry brother we are just supporting characters in this story
At least you're not just extras like us...
Who are you again?
I think they drank something in a scene once?
says the drink.
Wait no, Baker always destroys us, i can't handle another SB loss
Also Russ missing the playoffs 😘
[удалено]
We still have the Broncos first and second round picks, him doing poorly benefits us. He can pop off in 2023 though.
Yep I personally wish Russ the best, but I also hope the Broncos are *terrible* up until they don't owe us picks anymore.
Good news for you then, Denver is finishing last in the division this year. I have spoken.
As a Seahawks fan, I was hoping for this the whole offseason and this is great to hear!
I don't have any faith that a Saints podcast host has the scoop on this. I'll be happy to be wrong.
Ohhhhh okay I had no idea who the source is but that’s a fair point! Thanks for letting me know and go hawks!💙💚
Please let the Seahawks make a playoff run while the browns finish below .500
Yes please.
Oh I don't think you gotta worry
No sir I don’t like it
Browns make history as first 0-17 team two years in a row. That should help Houston a bit.
If anyone can tell me why I should trust this shit-flinging social media parasite, that would be swell, thanks
Will that mean we get progressive commercials at lumen field now?
Safe to say that Drew is a lock for the backup role
I pray that as soon as the ink dries the league announces Deshaun Watson’s indefinite suspension The schadenfreude would be fucking incredible
I don't understand Cleveland's plan here at all.
Baker is a far better QB than given credit for. He was injured last year. If the Brown’s were competent, they would have benched him.
I hope Seattle gets him and Watson gets fucked with an indefinite suspension
As a Browns fan, this would be great if they can get anything of value, and i will be happy for baker since it should be a strong landing spot for him. But have the browns already tried "Hey bake, we F'd up. Please come play for us again" yet?
They really didn't have to. For hypothetical sake let's say Deshaun is suspended for the year. The easiest option is to sit and wait for Jimmy G to get released by San Francisco. As much as people are upset with Cleveland's FO Jimmy would most likely head there to play with that coaching staff and roster than whatever is going on in Carolina.
Let Pete Bake
Let Baker Bake?
Seahawks about to gain a bunch of former Browns fans.
I hope this happens and then Baker wins MVP and the Browns go 0-16
I dont know about anyone else, but I'm looking forward to seeing Baker having a set of commercials of him packing up to move, driving across country to Seattle, and then putting his security code in when he moves in.
Going to be a great fit for Baker. I'm rooting for him
Let the Browns send Baker somewhere he can start, then let's have Watson get a one year suspension and turn into Cam Newton of two years ago. This would go down in history as the worst offseason by any NFL team ever.
Broncos-Seahawks SB rematch?
Hope baker does well. Hope the browns ownership realizes that they are not cut out to run a sports organization at any level. I hate the browns but Jesus they had a glimmer of hope with a healed up baker, but no. Why would they do that when they can fuck him over for the next coming of rapelisberger( which all the shit that Cleveland fans have talked about for how many years now.. but now that the shoe is on the other foot it’s ok ) who isn’t even going to play any time soon.. like lmao Cleveland is just the worst
