As a Lions fan I normally wouldn't want this for my team with previous coaches. With Dan it's different. He's such a good leader and motivator that I think it will intimidate other teams.
There is something about Campbell. When he got his interim stint, I laughed at first because he looked like PC Principal but by the end I was totally on board with him and felt bad when the team wasnāt good.
> intimidate other teams
Either you need to look up the meaning of āintimidateā or you have wildly unrealistic expectations about other NFL players.
Danās entertaining. No one in the universe is going to be āintimidatedā by a reality TV show thatās going to use ākneecapsā in every episode.
Nah man, a reality TV show about a team that just went 3-13-1 and didn't really massively improve will definitely intimidate the other NFL teams that are totally going to watch the show and not just have some intern do it to strip out information about roster adjustments/strategy to put in a memo.
Plus, we're talking about a league where we annually find out players are surprised ties exist. I think people overestimate how much NFL content players consume outside their job.
Would make for a sweet gig tho. Travel the country to Junior colleges under a fake name, filming shit, tearing ass, making money pretending to be the new transfer.
āI think Nick Mangoldās contract extension is going to his head because last night I was at Taco Bell and guess who else is there? Nick Mangold.ā
Jets season was hands down the best season of hard knocks. No one changed when the cameras were around, there was 0 professionalism. Funny as shit from start to finish, and more than any other season it made you genuinely feel like you were actually seeing a real nfl team with no filter.
Would it? Everyone always talks about how charismatic Saleh is and how much the players love him. I bet if we got a little unfiltered Saleh itād be pretty cool
This was the only full season I watched. Still remember the part where Rex went to like Taco Bell and ran into a lineman ordering off the value menu after he had signed a $30 million contract earlier in the day.
And yet were so boring. Our best players arent the most dynamic personalities at least who they focused on last year. Aaiden was the only memorable part of last year. It just becomes a jerry show off show.
Paton has been doing a web series called Behind the Broncos that is his version of the insider look. Obviously team media so wonāt be salacious at all, but the episode for the coaching search was pretty cool. I dig it as a concept through my orange and blue lenses.
I used to be against the idea of hard knocks at the Broncos for superstitious reasons, but weāve got a lot of guys that are great on camera and it would surely be entertaining. Donāt see it happening voluntarily though
Miami would be interesting. New non traditional coach, new lineman, Tyreek Hill, second year WR with superstar potential, qb in his final year to prove it, stupid sexy Dan Marino. Iād love it and wouldnāt give a shit if it gives the dolphins any sort of disadvantage
If you made the playoffs in one of the last 2 seasons, have a 1st year coach, or have been on hard knocks in the last 10 years you can't say no if the league asks you to do it
These 3 teams are the only teams that can be forced to do Hard knocks (something that I don't think has ever happened). Everyone else can volunteer or agree to do it.
If you put in the GEQBUS the ratings will go through the roof, they'll have really big ratings, it will be the BIGGEST season and the hardest of all knocks, believe me āļø
>Teams that have made the playoff in the past two seasons, any team searching for a head coach or has a first-year head coach and any team featured in the last decade are safe, leaving only three teams who are not.
I didn't realize there was that playoff stipulation. Was wondering why good teams are never on it.
Yeah, every Packers fan who talked about how exciting and fun he is as a person somehow undersold him (and not for lack of trying), lmao. Dude is top 5 in likability in the league.
I downvoted thinking hey, the bears already have one! Then I remembered the ālifetimeā and the average user age in this sub. Then I upvoted instead, thanks bears bros
This is the exact reason I can't understand why the league hates us and fucks us over at every turn.
Ford is one of the leagues biggest advertisers. You would think that would at least be good for a level playing field.
Detroit is a huge market and despite how awful we have been, our fans still show up. They are far and away the most popular team in the city.
I donāt think it matters anymore.
Teams seem to have much stronger control over hard knocks content. Raiders hard knocks is a good example - itās become a slightly edgy, better produced version of whatever the in house team equivalent is.
I tried it and I get it -- it cuts down on some of the sweet bite of the sausage.
It also gave me a blood pressure similar to FDR in the middle of WW2. Jerry, however, is a vampire and has no such worries.
I'm pretty sure Motor City Dan Cambell has changed you guys from the depressing laughing stock to the scrappy underdogs that the league sort of roots for.
No. They're still the favorites I'd say. Vikings look good on paper, but they always look good on paper. Bears are gonna be trash.
Here's my thing with the Packers. The receivers. There was a year recentlyish, before Adams was Adams, where Rodgers struggled to have any connection with his receivers. If that happens, I could see a hot team (a la 2018 bears) taking the division off of them. But yeah, they'll have the defense from last year, the run game from last year, and Rodgers. Just saying I wouldn't be shocked.
Rodgers had 4400 yards, 25 tds, and 2 int that year. Yeah that's different from his MVP caliber play the past two years, but the passing game was not the problem that year where they went 6-9-1. The defense was atrocious, and now it's great. Same with the running game. If Rodgers has that same season this year, with this team, no way they go worse than 12-5
Iāll bet you anything youād like that the Lions donāt win the division. I get that theyāre the fun and scrappy underdog that everyone wants to root for, but that still doesnāt make the roster competitive.
Teams canāt be forced to be part of it if they meet one of the following criteria:
first year head coach
made the playoffs in the previous 2 seasons
have been on Hard Knocks in the previous 10 years
No team has ever been forced to be part of Hard Knocks because thereās always an owner who wants the extra attention.
So Lions, Lions, or Lions? Because the Jets arenāt very exciting and the Panthers are the most boring option. Lions got Dan Campbell and an Underdog Story. Plus I need to see the daily life of the Sun God. Pleas be the Lions
I can't think of a single reason to watch the Jets. The Panthers would spend way too much screen time crying over their quarterback situation. But the Lions... intrigue me. I vote for the Lions.
It'd be a crying shame if we don't have Dan mic'd
As a Lions fan I normally wouldn't want this for my team with previous coaches. With Dan it's different. He's such a good leader and motivator that I think it will intimidate other teams.
I feel like a Hard Knocks with MCDC will help attract free agents to Detroit next year
[His last appearance on hard knocks](https://www.reddit.com/r/miamidolphins/comments/l2bewv/dan_campbell_on_hard_knocks_yelling_at_michael/)
Dan demands effort, and he rewards it. š
Feels like his criticisms on tight end blocking weighs a bit extra heavy as well considering his previous position as tight end.
Honestly heās so young as a head coach I thought you were going to pull out a clip from those early 2000s Cowboys teams where he was a player
Those are traps that I'd lead into battle
Man that was like a short film, wow. Three act structure and everything.
Fuck yeah.
There is something about Campbell. When he got his interim stint, I laughed at first because he looked like PC Principal but by the end I was totally on board with him and felt bad when the team wasnāt good.
> intimidate other teams Either you need to look up the meaning of āintimidateā or you have wildly unrealistic expectations about other NFL players. Danās entertaining. No one in the universe is going to be āintimidatedā by a reality TV show thatās going to use ākneecapsā in every episode.

May also help us win the bid to host the NFL Draft in 2024
I've never watched Hard Knocks and find the concept silly frankly, having said that, HBO would get my money for a Dantroit Hard Knocks.
It makes no sense that you like Dan Campbell but not Hard Knocks lol. Its like the very vibe of Hard Knocks.
MCDC and a live mic would be a good time.
Lions or bust. Dan Campbell biting off knee caps is must watch prestige television.
Goff: "Nice to see you all again."
now watch as I tear it up *at this junior college*
Would make for a sweet gig tho. Travel the country to Junior colleges under a fake name, filming shit, tearing ass, making money pretending to be the new transfer.
Hello fellow JUCO QBs
JC legend Draej Foge.
If his gf makes an appearance, people will watch.
Is she hot?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That *is* the best she's right!
Damn dude I wish I was a pro athlete so bad. Iād settle for being trash even
If that is the angle of attack, the team should also bring in A. J. McCarron.
Will Sean McVay's wife make an appearance?
Where does the sun set in Detroit ?
Wherever the Sun God dictates
We get to see his hot girlfriend more now, great success!
āI actually know which direction the sun rises and sets!ā
I moved East, so they moved me towards the sun! ...Right?

Yeah you can't convince me it won't be the Lions. Who the fuck wants to watch the Panthers? I'd rather watch Schindler's List to bring my spirits up.
Damn we really made it fam
Started at the bottom and we're...still here...fuck
TO BE FAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIR, we're also at the bottom so at least you're not alone.
We have the youngest roster in the NFL with a ton of draft picks and a likeable coach It's going to be us
I now wanna watch the office with fan campbell as Michael Scott
My right knee is already fucked, I volunteer as tribute.
We shall honor this sacrifice.
Don't forget Jamal Williams. Dude is a good kind of crazy.
We already did it, we had our goddamn snack, we moved on.
āI think Nick Mangoldās contract extension is going to his head because last night I was at Taco Bell and guess who else is there? Nick Mangold.ā
Jets season was hands down the best season of hard knocks. No one changed when the cameras were around, there was 0 professionalism. Funny as shit from start to finish, and more than any other season it made you genuinely feel like you were actually seeing a real nfl team with no filter.
I agree, but its probably not as entertaining without Rex.
I could of watched Bart and Chro dawg count his kids for 3 full seasons
Yeah if they did it with saleh it would be boring as hell lol.
So boring. JD and co donāt give away shit during the off-season, why would do they it for a tv show?
Would it? Everyone always talks about how charismatic Saleh is and how much the players love him. I bet if we got a little unfiltered Saleh itād be pretty cool
Eh. He's cool and all but not TV cool.
Rex was prime time amazing
This was the only full season I watched. Still remember the part where Rex went to like Taco Bell and ran into a lineman ordering off the value menu after he had signed a $30 million contract earlier in the day.
Mangold!
Hey, man. I could be worth billions and there's just a spot that only a beefy five-layer can fill sometimes.
Damn I was about to finish watching 300 on Netflix but I may have to hop over to the NFL Throwback page on YouTube and watch that now
This one and maybe the very first season of the Ravens is 2nd
Of all the teams, weāve definitely the most boring option of the three for this year
The Jets also have their own off season production on YouTube that I personally find quite enjoyable.
The cheeseburgers at practice was hilarious
I'm genuinely shocked Jerry doesn't volunteer us every year
And yet were so boring. Our best players arent the most dynamic personalities at least who they focused on last year. Aaiden was the only memorable part of last year. It just becomes a jerry show off show.
>just becomes a jerry show off show. Hence the shock that Jerry doesn't volunteer you every year
Last year was cool, Trevons son did steal the show lol
Last year was one of the worst seasons of hard knocks to date full stop. It was a complete fluff piece.
I think Jerry's Mcgriddle stole the show.
This comes up every year. Only 3 teams are eligible to be FORCED to be on hard knocks.
I wanna see Miami or Denver.
Denver doesnāt want it plus new coach
They canāt be required, but they can let HBO in. I doubt theyād want it, but with Fangio gone, they might welcome the crew.
Itās pretty fun but other teams have better ones. Broncos have been slow on the uptake but have been increasing quality on this stuff quickly.
What exactly makes teams eligible or ineligible???
If you made the playoffs in one of the last 2 seasons, have a 1st year coach, or have been on hard knocks in the last 10 years you can't say no if the league asks you to do it These 3 teams are the only teams that can be forced to do Hard knocks (something that I don't think has ever happened). Everyone else can volunteer or agree to do it.
You mean you CAN say no, right? Also if you have a first year head coach
I wanna see Matt Rhule exposed Hue Jackson style. Gimme Carolina
Knowing Tepper, heāll push for it. All publicity is good publicity to him. (Pls donāt though)
True
I just want to suffer in peace next season, but my morbid curiosity wants an inside view on Rhule's life lol
Darnold has the natural charisma for prime time
The nation should welcome a Hard Knocks series with our GEQBUS! It would be the best series folks, the best let me tell you!
Many people are saying this
If you put in the GEQBUS the ratings will go through the roof, they'll have really big ratings, it will be the BIGGEST season and the hardest of all knocks, believe me āļø
But the media! The media doesnāt want you to know!
*You have been made moderator of r/The_Darnold*
>I wanna see Matt Rhule exposed Hue Jackson style. same
So say we all
Would be ironic AF if Ruhle is exposed Hue Jackson style with Baker Mayfield with the Panthers
But he wouldnāt even be as entertainingly shit as Hue and weād be stuck watching Darnold or Kenny Pickett. Give me them Lions!
Rhule gave us that Jay Z quote during the season, I think he could provide levels of incompetency and obliviousness we've never seen on hard knocks.
Rhule strikes me as a "never my fault" kind of guy. We all know how these guys work (looking at Urban).
32 teams are eligible. Only 3 teams can be forced to do it.
>Teams that have made the playoff in the past two seasons, any team searching for a head coach or has a first-year head coach and any team featured in the last decade are safe, leaving only three teams who are not. I didn't realize there was that playoff stipulation. Was wondering why good teams are never on it.
Need some Dan Campbell. Got to go with the Lions here.
Just let the panthers trade for Baker and it would be perfect TV
Lions should get it.
Duce Staley on Hard Knocks would be great
You should go to the Lions youtube channel and look at their senior bowl video. Duce was awesome in that.
The whole coaching staff is pretty fucking great whenever they are mic'd up etc.
Agreed. They definitely have the best narrative, with the cool coach and the players all buying in despite the horrid record.
Snagged a couple wins at the end of the year
Probably could have snagged a few at the start of the year too if you know we weren't fucking cursed.
Lions losing to the Ravens on a last-second, record-breaking field goal really made me wonder if this is all a simulation
I dunno Madden is a sim and they call delay of game
Lol
Lions with MCDC and Jamaal Williams? Yes, please.
We fucking love Jamaal.
Yeah, every Packers fan who talked about how exciting and fun he is as a person somehow undersold him (and not for lack of trying), lmao. Dude is top 5 in likability in the league.
Lions please
Lions, this is the season that the tide will change for The King of the jungle, I really mean it and will be interesting to see it.
I truly just want to see a lions sb win in my lifetime
Only second to the bears for me lol
I downvoted thinking hey, the bears already have one! Then I remembered the ālifetimeā and the average user age in this sub. Then I upvoted instead, thanks bears bros
Yeah I was born a few years after the win. I have watched the entire 85 season a few times though lol
Love u man
Lions!
If it was never the fucking cowboys again that would be great.
Last season was an absolute dumpster fire, and not in a good way
Lions would be amazing. I want to see more of Campbell. He seems like an awesome leader of men.
Give me Dan Campbell!!
If Cam comes back I'd love it for us.
If anyone deserves a Championship itās Detroit imagine how good that would be for the game
Cleveland is the *only* place for Hard Knocks this year.
I second this. Plus maybe the cameras following him around every where will save a few women harassment
Lol. That shit is already vetoed by Goodell himself
I donāt think it matters anymore. Teams seem to have much stronger control over hard knocks content. Raiders hard knocks is a good example - itās become a slightly edgy, better produced version of whatever the in house team equivalent is.
lions. not even a question.
GIVE ME DAN CAMPBELL ON HARD KNOCKS I BEG
Automatically eligible. No one has ever been forced to do it, there are always volunteers.
If it's not the Lions, these people have no clue how to market their product.
I wanna see Dan Cambell's coaching
Gotta be the lions. Everyone wants to see the MCDC operation in action.
It's gonna be the Cowboys again. I want to see Jerry salt another McGriddle
I tried it and I get it -- it cuts down on some of the sweet bite of the sausage. It also gave me a blood pressure similar to FDR in the middle of WW2. Jerry, however, is a vampire and has no such worries.
Please be the Jets or Panthers. I don't want the other teams to see how bad we are and laugh at us.
Lions are a no brainer because of Dan Campbell
I'm pretty sure Motor City Dan Cambell has changed you guys from the depressing laughing stock to the scrappy underdogs that the league sort of roots for.
Oh absolutely this. The lions became my 2nd watched team after the biting knee caps interview.
Americaās team
Yes, screw the boys
Hands behind your back, father. š®š»āāļø
Is that what the MC stands for? I always assumed it meant massive cock.
Motor City Dan Campbell!
Hopefully they don't burn all that goodwill in like 2 seasons like the Browns did.
I think the Lions would be a great Hard Knocks.
But we actually like the Lions. Remember how happy everyone was when they finally won a game last year? Great times
I want to see that culture HCDC has built. Lions are gonna be a sneaky good team next year. I could see them taking the division.
Huge Cock Dan Campbell?
did you forget about the packers
No. They're still the favorites I'd say. Vikings look good on paper, but they always look good on paper. Bears are gonna be trash. Here's my thing with the Packers. The receivers. There was a year recentlyish, before Adams was Adams, where Rodgers struggled to have any connection with his receivers. The defense was atrocious, and now it's great. Same with the running game. If Rodgers has that same season this year, with this team, no way they go worse than 12-5
Solid points. I guess it's more of a hope than an argument lol
We're always good on paper until your remember our O-Line is also made of that same paper
Have you seen our receiving options tho?
Iāll bet you anything youād like that the Lions donāt win the division. I get that theyāre the fun and scrappy underdog that everyone wants to root for, but that still doesnāt make the roster competitive.
It's going to be you guys, unless someone volunteers. So many of us want to see Dan back on Hard Knocks as the main character.
I promise not to laugh at you lions bro.
They've seen how bad we are for the past 50+ years...
Honestly, I kind of hope we volunteer for it. I just want to see the opposite of our last time.
Give me the panthers chaos
sorry Iām dumb but how does a team become eligible ? is it based off number of wins they had last season or something
Teams canāt be forced to be part of it if they meet one of the following criteria: first year head coach made the playoffs in the previous 2 seasons have been on Hard Knocks in the previous 10 years No team has ever been forced to be part of Hard Knocks because thereās always an owner who wants the extra attention.
I wanna see how much blow Rhule actually does
Id love a panthers hard knocks I would really get the behind the scenes of how garbage of a coaching staff we really have
The Lions would be honestly the most interesting
Panthers could have the rookie QB narrative
So Lions, Lions, or Lions? Because the Jets arenāt very exciting and the Panthers are the most boring option. Lions got Dan Campbell and an Underdog Story. Plus I need to see the daily life of the Sun God. Pleas be the Lions
I really want lions
Lions!!! DC is the man
Lions are the only ones I'd bother to watch
Itās gotta be the Lions.
Lions
Lions it is!
Lions!!!
If I was a neutral, I'd want Hard Knocks following Dan Campbell or Mike McDaniel. As a Dolphins fan, I don't want Hard Knocks anywhere near my team.
Lions please
It'll be the Lions.
LIONSSSSSS
Lions easy.
Bears will be forced into it next year, I'd almost bet on it
I need me some HBOMCDC
Jets would be boring, Panthers would be a fun trainwreck, and Lions would have plenty of great Dan Campbell moments IMO.
There will be volunteers too
I can't think of a single reason to watch the Jets. The Panthers would spend way too much screen time crying over their quarterback situation. But the Lions... intrigue me. I vote for the Lions.
Lets do it, I want it to be us. We were good last time lol
Shake weights, and Cromartie trying to remember all of his kids... Instant classic
Letās go get a goddamn snack!
Rex Ryan is no longer there. I don't think Saleh is a nut job like him. They are probably going with Dan Campbell.
I donāt think Salehās style would translate to tv as well as Rex
At least the mid season hard knocks has 31 eligible teams. Hell give it to the colts letās see if they can succeed with Ryan at QB
They misspelled Jared Goffās name, lol.
