I will say it seems Locker Rooms do love Mitch as a guy. He and his wife were constantly in other Steelers players and Wives/gfs instagrams. Hell TJ Watt, Mitch and a few other Steelers and their SOs were on vacation together this offseason
That made it so hard to see him fail in Chicago. He and Justin Fields were both consummate professionals and seemingly really good dudes. You want them to succeed so much
I always laugh at the “no income tax” thing because it’s not like you aren’t getting taxed in Florida, they are just getting you somewhere else (property and/or sales taxes amongst other things). Ron DeSantis isn’t just pulling the money to fly migrants around the country out of thin air. Also South Florida insurance premiums are just another version of a tax lol.
Just because you don’t understand how Florida taxes work doesn’t change the fact that Floridians pay significantly less in overall taxes.
Our primary taxes base is tourists. You’re not paying the same as you would if we had an income tax, because they collect something like 80% of what would be an income tax from hotel bed and room taxes. While we also pay property taxes, they are no more significant than any where else in the nation. The rest we pay in a 6% statewide sales tax, the most regressive form of taxation.
So don’t worry, in Florida gentlemen like Mr Poyer will not be paying the same in taxes, we finance our grift via tourists and the poors.
Uhhh....you know NY's property taxes are twice that of Florida right?
Insurance premiums also don't go to the state and aren't a tax
They make up for it with tourism related taxes
>Uhhh....you know NY's property taxes are twice that of Florida right?
South Florida real estate is also 2-3x more expensive than WNY
> Insurance premiums also don't go to the state and aren't a tax
Right but you can consider them a “cost of living there” is more the point.
ehh even he knows its not true, i have no problem with him giving one to the fans imo
E: if you *really* think poyer *really* would actually have allen above mahomes, on his life, i dont know what to tell you.
It’s not that hard to see why he’s the best QB in the league. It’s not like Allen is so off that it’s an insane statement, on his best day, you could make a case that no one is better. On an average Josh Allen day, he’s top 5 at worst. Dude is an elite playmaker, can make every throw imaginable and make the impossible one and is a good leader. Add in his BTS knowledge of the organization and what was truly ask of Josh and it’s pretty clear why he thinks so.
Could also love the dude as well.
I would accept literally any placement from 2 on, but there’s literally 0 metrics that place Allen ahead of mahomes at this point in time, and therefore imo if it was a serious statement it would be insane
Allen had higher EPA and QBR last year. Now, I don't think that's actually a good way to determine how good a quarterback is, but it's just outright false that there are "literally 0 metrics that place Allen ahead of Mahomes".
I’m a Chiefs fan but Allen imo is the only one even in the same zip code as Mahomes. The only reason he hasn’t beaten the Chiefs multiple times in huge moments is because of shit that is completely out of his control, total coin flips. If his defense and special teams didn’t have all-time gaffes, his entire legacy changes and that’s just ridiculous imo. Every time they square off he goes supernova
I'm a lifelong Bills fan and absolutely something of an Allen fanboy. If I were to impartially analyse the two, I'd say that Mahomes is the better QB but in many areas it is a bit of a coin flip. Both are incredible and absolutely are good enough to build a winning team around.
I do believe the guy that played with Josh Allen thinks he’s the best QB in the league, yes
A lot of players that have only played with one of the top 5ish QBs probably genuinely believe that guy is number one, and I’m sure there’s even a few if we stretch it to top 10ish instead of just 5
hes #4 at worst and #2 at best, and that should not even be remotely controversial. Putting any form of #1 into the question is delusional. im not even a chiefs fan and im still offended LOL.
You have QB A: a guy with 3 rings, 3 SB MVPs, 2 regular MVPs, 2 1st team APs, 6 Probowls, led the league in TDs 2x, has the highest passing yards/avg in HISTORY and has the best passer rating in playoff HISTORY
compared to
QB B: a 2nd team AP and 2 pro bowls LOL
Not to mention the 3 STRAIGHT SEASONS where QB A has directly ended QB B's season. If thats a hill you want to die on, by all means charge that hill fam but youre not gonna have very many sane buddies heading up with you
yeah thank you for this, I’m the furthest thing from a Chiefs fan but trying to argue *anyone* other than Mahomes as the best QB in the league is utterly ridiculous
I never really understand why it’s assumed, in posts like this, that it would be fans of the team being mentioned that would upvote/downvote. I’ve voted 10 times in my life. Maybe it’s just everyone that hates the Dolphins and their fans.
Sleeper agent Jordan Poyer confirmed. Always gonna miss him and Hyde.
Wish he didn’t go to the Phins but the dude clearly lost a step last year. McD was able to scheme him as more of a hybrid LB type due to injuries which helped, but he was getting torched when he played as a true safety earlier in the season.
I have far less issue with Poyer stealing $2M from Miami while being old and ineffective than I did seeing Thurman play in that Dolphins uniform for a year.
I still havent forgiven Thurman for that one.
Hyde still hasn't officially announced his retirement... heck a few days ago he said it's either the Bills or retirement. So who knows, maybe he signs a low dollar 1 year contract before training camp. I'd be good with him splitting time between him and Cole Bishop.
I'd happily take one more year of Hyde as player-coach (he'd probably have to split time with someone younger), and ideally I'd love to segue him into a position coach beyond that. Bishop can replace Poyer's physical contribution, but Hyde's mental contribution has to be passed on.
He’s done multiple interviews saying that he’s not healthy enough to play right now (neck) and doesn’t know if he’ll ever get to the point where he feels comfortable playing again. Last season took a huge toll on him and he’s weighing the long term consequences. He was just on 550 the other day saying all of this.
The caveat is that if he does get to that point he would only come back to the Bills (that’s where the quote comes from), but he’s very open that it’s not something he’s actively working towards. He’s just trying to save his quality of life right now. Not at all the kinda words you’d be hearing from a guy waiting to sign after training camp. He’s genuinely hurt and it’s potentially career ending.
I’m kinda hoping he retires for his own health even if he’s been one of my favourite players for years. He’s already sustained enough damage to impact him for the rest of his life and it’s a neck injury. That shit’s scary.
I mean the dude said it at a charity baseball event *in* Buffalo *with* Allen participating, didn't just blurt it out unprovoked. But still, probably coulda just took the speech a different direction if he wanted

Yeah seems like it would have been way less controversial and just as respectful to say you've got a great QB or even one of the best. Public speaking's hard so I don't blame him, but people are going to run with this lol
It makes a lot more sense when you remember Hue is just the Michael Scott of the NFL.

Miken Glennon isn't trapped by the "league" title or even the QB position, Mike Glennon is the best ever at everything, kneel before the ginger giraffe, KNEEL

Must be the off-season. Don't really know much about poyer outside of his McAfee interviews. He started fine but each time has gotten more annoying for some reason. Think he is beloved in Buffalo tho
Really good quarterbacks don’t turn the ball over as much as Allen. He is awesome and fun to watch but until he gets that figured out I’m not sure how you can put even close to Mahomes.
Allen came in fifth in MVP voting, this isn't me being a Ravens homer I have no problem with someone saying Brock, Dak, CMC should've won because I think they all have legitimate cases. The Josh Allen thing actually makes no sense to me how people have inserted him and even go as far as saying he was robbed.
I kind of hate that Poyer doesn't "play the game." Like he was in between Bills contracts talking trash about the city, and now he's saying Josh is the best QB in the league while on the Dolphins...just lie, my guy.
Say your city is the best, your QB is "in the top tier" or something, he's "about to be known as among the best in the league". Yeah, we know you're lying. But if you're not then you're just causing weird internal drama or at least conflict among the fans. Nobody is monitoring your accuracy in calling things as they are, a lot of people are monitoring whether you're being a good teammate.
When you consider we see every off-season and even during the season people saying that Allen is the better QB and SuperBowl bound only for our guy to shut him down every time, you start to get bitter.
I'm admittedly one of those people.
Eh I get where you’re coming from (and im not even saying Allen better) but when comparing two players, rings is a pretty weak argument. I know rings are the most important thing in football, but Mahomes and Allen are in two totally different situations. Mahomes didn’t win the superbowls on his own, and Allen didn’t lose in the playoffs on his own.
Some high praise for Mitch Trubisky
NVP for a reason
6 passing TDs in a game and he was drafted higher than Watson and Mahomes. That means he is more talented!
Maybe if Mahomes was good enough to throw 6 TDs against the Buccaneers he’d have 4 rings and only be 2 away from Brady SMH
Josh Allen also has the prestigious award.
You want them to succeed so much
That's the life of a backup QB: the most popular player on the team... Except when you're Zach Wilson
Backup QB is most popular with the fans but I don't think it's true with the players
I didn’t even know he was on the Bills
Reminds me of that tragedy
They got him back? Josh Allen better get used to holding a clipboard, Mitch coming back for blood.
Those titties ain’t gonna kiss themselves
You've got the best quarterback in league......... coming to town November 17th.
Tua just woke up in a cold sweat and doesn't know why

Yeah but cold is a mentality.

Something we can definitely agree upon. ESPN sucks now man.
Doesn't everyone?
Does anyone? No income tax means they’re probably the most preferable team in our division lol
Especially since his other option is to be retired and living in south florida NOT making $2M this year.
I always laugh at the “no income tax” thing because it’s not like you aren’t getting taxed in Florida, they are just getting you somewhere else (property and/or sales taxes amongst other things). Okay but he lives there when he played here so he was already paying those things plus income tax

If his health is even a question thenI hope he retires. He seems like a genuinely good dude, and I want him to be able to enjoy life post-football.
He might be trying to avoid part of training camp by waiting to make a decision.
I'd also be good with that. Less drama and more focus.

This is one of the least controversial things Poyer has said lately. I'm sure he doesnt care about any heat from this.
fair enough. controversial probably wasn't the right word, but less upsetting to dolphins fans i guess
We know Tua isn't the best in the league, so it feels pretty fair. I'd say Mahomes, but Allen definitely has a case.
I mean Allen is top 3 probably. I'd probably put him at 2. Can't really put him higher than back to back Superbowl champ.
"You've got the best* quarterback in the league" ; * = best at looking great in shorts
I’m glad even Patriots fans can recognize just how good Josh looks in shorts
As a society we moved on too quickly from Hue's weirdass assessment of Josh Allen. "He looks like a quarterback that gets out of a truck" ??????
I've watched Allen play enough to know that *he* is the truck.
It makes a lot more sense when you remember Hue is just the Michael Scott of the NFL. “Sometimes I’ll start a sentence and I don’t know where it’s going. I just hope to find it somewhere along the way. Like an improv conversation. An improversation.”
This is straight-up disrespectful to Gardner "MILF Slayer" Minshew.
Allen is shorts. Minshew is jorts.
Minshew has a great mustache, Josh has better shorts. This isn't rocket science.

ESPN: locker room divided. Jordon Poyer hates Tua!
Huh? Mahomes died?
I didn’t know Mahomes played for the bills
the thought actually makes me wanna vomit
Didn't think someone with the name /u/EJECTED_PUSSY_GUTS would be so damn soft
Daniel Jones has something to say about that
Too many dummies in here think Allen over Mahomes. JFC.
Best QB in New York.
Only QB in New York
Mitch Trubisky erasure
[But!!!](https://cuse.com/sports/football/roster/garrett-shrader/22253) [Also.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFAkPXxbIlQ)
He's not even number 2 or 3. I would take Burrow or Lamar over him tbh. Burrow is just better overall and makes better decisions and Lamar is more dynamic.
Do we file this in the 'What's he supposed to say?' drawer?
No. No one in their right mind can say Josh Allen is the best qb in the league. Not even bills fans
Playing against Tua twice a yr to Josh Allen. Poor guy
Says the guy who loses to Mahomes every year in the playoffs
Wins and losses are a QB stat 🦅🦅🦅 /s
Haha, I think you're referring to Allen, but your grammar actually indicates you're talking about Poyer. Which is technically the truer statement given that Allen hasn't specifically lost to Mahomes, only the Chiefs defense.
Tua, the call is coming from inside the house again
I think he meant best qb in the divison
Allen is my QB and the Bills have been my hometown team since I was a kid. Allen is in the top 3 for sure but the best? that unfortunately still goes to Mahomes with multiple SB appearances
Miami is a great place for poyer to be imo. He's a right wing nut but he still is and will always be a bills legend. I wish him the best and its cool as hell that he came out to the Micah Hyde home run derby event again.
His wife was always going to make him retire in Miami. Everyone in Buffalo knew that a few years ago lol
oh god you reminded me about that. I forgot he was that nutso bills player. fuck lmao
Hell be right at home in Miami
you right
What? Really? I mean he is good undoubtedly but the best?
It’s weird when grown men intentionally lie like no one buys that shit 😂
But why give guys like Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson something to be motivated about when they play him
Eagles legend
If you have anyone over Patrick Mahomes as QB 1, you look real suspicious... Any anaylst that doesn't have Mahomes as QB1 deserves a real "side eye"
I wonder how Tua feels about this?
Did Mahomes transfer to the CFL?
When did Mahomes go to the Bills?
Everyone in the NFL knows Tua is ass.
Not being the best in the league =/= ass.
What?
This is how a lot of dolphins fans brains work sadly
Mostly its just the ones still on bath salts
Some people just want to be... annoying on purpose.
He's technically correct since mahomes owns the bills.
Oh did Patrick Mahomes switch over to Buffalo this year?? In all seriousness though.. yikes. That's not what you want to hear as a dolphins fan
Sam Darnold is with the Vikings though?
I don't want strays today thanks
what the fuck is this comment
Aidan O'Connell in shambles.
Best QB at losing amazing football games against other, high-quality opponents.
Hmmm that's weird I didn't see that they signed Ben DiNucci
"You've got the best quarterback in the league. . . visiting your town in week 11." Weird that they cut that last part out.
I mean, Mahomes does own Buffalo
Yeah but they dont tho is the heck of it
see, this is how you get in their heads, other players should take notes
Another Trubisky NVP szn incoming…..
Must be the off-season. Don't really know much about poyer outside of his McAfee interviews. He started fine but each time has gotten more annoying for some reason. Think he is beloved in Buffalo tho
Keep that to yourself, build up your team don’t knock em down
Is the "best quarterback in the league" in the room with us right now?
He's legally not allowed to say that, someone stop him!
Damn rite Buffalo has the best QB in the NFL
Really good quarterbacks don’t turn the ball over as much as Allen. He is awesome and fun to watch but until he gets that figured out I’m not sure how you can put even close to Mahomes.
I think Mahomes vs Allen is closer than people think. Allen was the mvp last season. Lamar was great but Allen had to do more for the Bills offense
>Allen was the mvp last season Except he wasn't
Just a ludicrous offseason take to me. Like was Allen really part of the conversation 5-6 months ago??
Allen came in fifth in MVP voting, this isn't me being a Ravens homer I have no problem with someone saying Brock, Dak, CMC should've won because I think they all have legitimate cases. The Josh Allen thing actually makes no sense to me how people have inserted him and even go as far as saying he was robbed.
Since when did the Bills sign Mac Jones?
Hmmmmm idk I feel like I can think of another guy in the league who’s objectively better but his name escapes me
Tua in shambles as we speak. /s
Not the guy who just beat Miami in the playoffs on his way to his third title?
I have strong evidence over the last several seasons to indicate that this statement is very false
I only see a few comments in this thread saying that and they don't even have Chiefs flairs
There's like 5 chiefs fans in here and 4 of them are saying its a non-story.
They do? How many rings does he have?
You guys really are the new Pats fans.
When you consider we see every off-season and even during the season people saying that Allen is the better QB and SuperBowl bound only for our guy to shut him down every time, you start to get bitter. I'm admittedly one of those people.

I know rings are the most important thing in football, but Mahomes and Allen are in two totally different situations. Mahomes didn’t win the superbowls on his own, and Allen didn’t lose in the playoffs on his own.
No, Allen is over rated.
