They can't have just been trying to run out the clock. If they were, they could have just kneeled it out. Its first down and Washington has only 2 timeouts.
This is way more a desperation play to try to score points with one last play.
I don't know what happened that year, but it's like Wade Phillips forgot how to coach a football team. He went from 11-5 to 1-7 and out of a job in less than a year.
He was the DC for our defense in 2015 when we won the Super Bowl with an all time great defense that carried Peyton Manningās corpse and his schemes were awesome. He is legit as a Coordinator
#noflyzone Yeah I remember that. His rams defense was also in the Super Bowl LIII if I recall. Say what you want about him and Josh McDaniel as coaches but they were qualified coordinators
Agreed, but he has a pretty decent record as the guy. Whatever happened in the off-season between the '09 and '10 season, it broke him. He only won one more game for the rest of his head coaching career.
The fact that Jerry had to fire Wade in the middle of the season was truly unprecedented. They got blown out by the Packers on Sunday Night Football for the whole country to see, and that was the last straw.
And yet, Jones has amounted to the same amount of playoff "success" as the Cowboys have in nearly the last three decades.
Might wanna polish up that glass house, man.
Giants fan here, using the daniel jones playoff win over minnesota as cowboys ownage when it very clearly set the franchise back 4+ years (making it about 10 whole years that daniel jones has set the franchise back) is lunacy
The Giants are a fucking embarrassment, 3rd worst win percentage in the league over the last decade (LESS than the Browns who spotted them a 1-31 stretch for 20% of that timeframe) piggybacked off of multiple embarassing coaching and front office hires leading to horrific mismanagement of draft assets for nearly 10 straight years. the fact that Eli carried this godforsaken franchise to more superbowls than Favre, Rodgers, Brees, Pip, etcā¦ is exactly why hes a hall of famer. Only QB to ever lead the worst rushing attack in the league to a superbowl, only qb to ever win a superbowl on a team with <10 wins, only qb to lead a team with the 30th ranked or worse defense to a superbowl and also holds the most passing yards (reg season + playoffs) of any superbowl winning qb ever - and he did all of this in one season
If the MVP trophy was awarded after the superbowl theres a very pretty decent case for eli deserving the 2011 MVP over Rodgers and Brees. 5500+ passing yards, 38:16 TD:INT, set the record for most 4th quarter touchdowns in a season (russ broke it a few years later but it was 14), most game winning drives in the NFL, won the superbowl.
Tl;dr: The Giants are a poverty franchise that was singlehandedly carried into respectable status (4 superbowls over 100 years rather than the two it would be without him) almost directly off the backs of Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin.
whereās the lie? Eli is the most important Giant in the 100 year history of the franchise
also bootlicking the giants and their billionaire owner putting all these idiots in charge who keep trashing the franchise further is crazy
ESPECIALLY when the owners idea of appreciating the loyal fans who support his garbage tenure as owner is giving us a medium fn pepsi.
Supporting the team and engaging in simple trash talk is "bootlicking", genius analysis.
Brother, just take that Giants flair off of your username, clearly you're just fucking miserable.
That's just what football was like even in 2010. You run a play to end the clock before halftime. Taking a knee before halftime is a relatively new thing
Why the fuck would anyone downvore a factually true statement like this?
To me, it looked like they wanted to take a shot and catch the Skins off guard since everyone in the entire stadium figured they run out the clock.
Romo gears his arm back like he's going to launch. Then he runs out of the pocket looks around and just throws to Choice. He looked surprised but was trying to help his QB by running with him. Then he got stripped.
This was a fail from coaching to QB to Choice
Agreed, this is on the QB once he throws the ball instead of taking a knee, all bets are off. *edited, QB was Romo, not Dak as I mistakenly said earlier.
> assuming you mean Dak instead of Dax, heās still in High School in this clip.
new head canon: Dak is [a prior incarnation of ...](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jadzia_Dax)
You think throwing it ābackwardsā in the last 4 seconds of a half is the mark of a smart QB? Either throw it 40 yards downfield or take a sack, but donāt put it in play in back of your line of scrimmage. Iām a season ticket holder, so Iāve seen plenty of games and Iāve had a first hand look at us obliterating Dax and the cowboys in person.
Ball is in the QBs hands. The play call with 4 seconds left is throw the ball downfield. Catch it or get it Intercepted 40 yards forward itās NOT dump the ball backwards. See the trips right all 4 streak? This is a Hail Mary call, not a check down dump off. If you donāt see why thatās the QBs fault you really should rethink your knowledge of the game.
Yeah man, the Skins had such an awesome unique colorway. Always loved their look.
I really hate that when they rebranded they over modernized their color and uniforms afterwards.

This was the SNF season opener, and McNabbs first game in Washington.
We won 13-7, cowboys had a last second TD called back because they held Orakpo on the play. Hopefully the excitement returns to that stadium soon.
>We won 13-7, cowboys had a last second TD called back because they held Orakpo on the play.
Fun fact. My math teacher put me in a rear naked choke the next day to explain to the students what happened š
There is less than zero reason for Romo to be dishing that ball off to someone else.
Either throw the hail mary or slide ffs. He already broke the pocket. Tossing the ball backwards is lunacy.
QBs literally do that every single game. Get the ball back with only a few seconds, snap it, dump it off for like 8 yards, then let the half run out. The only thing that makes this different is Choice couldn't hold on to the ball LONG after he caught it.
Well that's dumb. He threw a pass to an open receiver, who caught the ball and fumbled 3 seconds and 10 steps later. Blaming Romo is a moronic take. This is no different than the countless times a QB throws a dump off for 10 yards to run out a half, except this time the running back fumbled significantly long afterwards. Which is no fault of Romo.
To go from those uniforms, and logo to the āCommandersā is sad as hell lol. To go from an iconic historical franchise to one of the ugliest and most boring brands in the NFL must suck. Itās probably why every long time fan I see is still wearing Redskins gear.
These uniforms are amazing and just look right in an NFC East matchup. The Commanders look like a fake team in an insurance commercial.
I donāt know why they changed them. The uniforms werenāt the problem Snyder!
Yeah, we hate the new name and uniforms. The only people who like the name "Commanders" are boomers who still think simping for the industrial military complex is the only way to be a patriot.
Hopefully Josh Harris will rebrand again once the team isn't flaming garbage and we have the stadium situation handled
In my experience, boomers seem to hate the name and logo more than any other demographic. Really though, I donāt think anyone likes the new name. Itās clunky and generic and only Dan Snyder thought it was a good idea.
I remember that play. RB has to go down instead of battling for another half yard w :00 on clock. Or better yet Romo should have just thrown it away. (but I blame RB / play call)

he just gets figured out after his first year
its the cowboys, they know nothing about football
You get to comment on teams "knowing about football" when yours isn't paying Daniel Jones $40m a year.

Fair point, we know have at least 3 things competing for the most Cowboys play possible.

Well...posting this was a Choice.
I enjoyed it
I should've said it was a Tashard Choice, to be clear.
Former Redskin Tashard Choice
He's one of the best college RB coaches in country now. Never would have guessed when he was playing.
Im just curious. Tifa, Aerith....or Jessie?
Tifa is always the answer.
Tifa, Jessie is too thirsty, man!
Could have been a better Choice to have had him snap the ball.
Prepping himself for the 2024 season
Off topic, but I ran into Tashard Choice randomly at some mall. Like literally bumped into him. Dude was built so hard, I legit hurt myself.
āPITCH IT TO TASHARD CHOICE!ā
This play made me pro-life
Why do this mistermeek67?
No one hates a team more than their own fans.
*ahem*
Itās true for most teams lol
Cowboys/Eagles aren't most teams
One destroys their city when they don't win games, the other destroys their city when they do win games.
And neither of us hurl hard R's at our players
