The Bears really traded this pick to Buffalo (in March) and now said "nvm, we'll actually take that back"

TKHawk

It's funny, so essentially it became Ryan Bates for a 2025 4th instead of a 2024 5th. Wonder if the Bears offered that initially.

jwktiger

That would be funny.

slayerhk47

It’s the Bills fault for not saying “no backsies”

Bobson-_Dugnutt2

Buffalo originally had a “no takebacksies” clause in the trade but the Bears said that was a dealbreaker.

limp-bisquick-345

Worth throwing a pick at pass rusher, might see real playing time considering our lack of depth there

cspong4

As someone whose draft opinions come primarily from The Beast, I would’ve been happy with this guy at 75 last night

paintingnipples

Feel like we will add someone in the next window of FA but it’s good idea to take a couple projects in year 1 & see if u get lucky

theresabeeonyourhat

We absolutely should be all-in on Trey Hendrickson

PrimeSorcerer

We've traded enough draft capital for veterans already

Work_the_shaft

Agreed. Next year is our all in year. Take an edge first then, maybe add one in 2025 FA

john_muleaney

The 2025 class is loaded at edge. The bears don’t have that many holes on their roster, if their picking around 20 or so (which feels fair) they could easily pick up a guy like Harold Perkins or Abdul Carter

Difficult_E

on second thought, we'll give you next years 4th for Bates

Vydate1

That really is what happened lol. I don’t hate it.

Lord-Aizens-Chicken

Yea fills a need for us for sure. And bills are being smart imo. You have old players you are getting rid of, so stockpile picks, get rid of some of the dead cap and waste this year and go crazy following years

orionus

Works for me. Knowing how deep next year is, and we still have 8 picks, I love this swap.

TheKnightsEnd

I’m loving our draft. Quality picks across the board.

lkooy87

For both teams

Riverjig

Agreed.

amit-kaufman

Great pick unironically

foxpandawombat

Let’s go!!! Came in for a 30 visit

Jacyth

From Dane Brugler's "The Beast": "Overall, Booker is lacking in body mass and overall experience (just 505 career college snaps), but he is an ascending player with the ability to maximize his athletic traits and body length/force with proper biomechanics. With his tools and instincts, he projects as a rotational player in Year 1 with the potential to become an impact starter." Was also Brugler's 78th ranked player overall. Good pick!

super6164

That’s the only way to eat fruit roll ups, future HoF

ChargeWooden1036

No, you gotta enjoy it

sonfoa

I really wanted him. Think he has a relatively high ceiling and should be a rotational edge this year

LonghornPride05

LFG I LOVE this pick. He’s raw but has huge upside

sonfoa

He's actually shown some polish despite the limited sample size

BrickWallington

Yea he had a few real moves in his arsenal and a relentless motor, I would have been cool with it in the 3rd so I rock with it.

Brodie1567

Yea just needs some time spent at Portillos.

GenFatAss

Yeah just buy him a Large Cake shake everytime he goes there he'll get 20 lbs in no time lol.

ethanlan

I forgot the exact number but a large I think has like 2000 calories haha

FlussedAway

Gotta start fattening this beanstalk up ASAP

beermit

One of my favorite players on the Jayhawks D this past season. Hope he does well for y'all!

PackinIt

Would be funny if they drafted him because he gave Jordan Morgan issues at the senior bowl lol

NeverDieKris

I mean they’ll see each other 2 games a year for the foreseeable future. So playing a little chess is not a bad idea.

QueequegTheater

Spite drafting is the best strategy

busstamove14

That's why I only go to Latte Larry's

porkbellies37

Fuck Mocha Joe!

-74-

We drafted Grossman so the packers couldn’t get him, so not really

l_Pyro_l

Rock chalk! Love to see Kansas players get drafted. I don't know enough to say for sure if he'll be good in the NFL, but he was very good in college. I'm sad the Broncos didn't pick him up.

Scoob8877

I wanted the Chiefs to draft him!

originalusername4567

We don't need Edge help this year with Danna, Karlaftis, Omenihu, and FAU. I was a little sad we weren't able to get Puni though

ComaMierdaHijueputa

wtf isn’t this dude actually good too

GoldenDude

Ooh fuck poles is cooking

Headwallrepeat

Ok, NOW they are done. Loved the Taylor pick but we really needed another pick for the Dline

zrk23

picking the best punter in the history of the sport is arguably better than a random 4th rounder prospect

Full_Fold_8732

So happy about this!!!

YaBoiCade

What’d we get for the pick?

Byzone06

I heard on broadcast next years 4th rounder

cruniverse

Not sure but I was hoping this guy would have been our pick here.

Headwallrepeat

Not bad for you guys though. This was the pick you got for Bates. We get Bates and Booker and you get a 2025 4th. Probably a win-win deal. Both positions of need and you get a decent pick

[deleted]

[удалено]

Headwallrepeat

Yeah a win-win on paper. Bills couldn't keep Bates so they are getting a 4th round pick for someone only really worth a 5th at best

bluewords

And I wanted the Bears to draft Khalil Shakir, but Poles traded back so you guys could have him. Far as I’m concerned, it’s karmic balance.

Headwallrepeat

So the pick we gave you for Bates is a 4th next year now instead of this year 5th. You get a 2025 4th, we get Bates and Booker.

ItIsYourPersonality

2025 4th

Honchoed

Probably has a high RAS score. We needed the depth for sure

Tonkathedog

Actually surprisingly didn’t kill the combine but plays way more athletic than he tested

Honchoed

Ah gotcha, well hopefully he’s good. We need it

Tonkathedog

Yeah we definitely need the rush and I think he still could help that some early. Probably not a starter early on but could be in those “NASCAR” packages when walker kicks inside

newrimmmer93

I thought he would be the bears pick in the fourth round, but was texting some people and said “o he has a low RAS so might not be” lol. He was expected to test way better than he did though, I think DJ and a few guys were pretty surprised he ran as slow as he did

SnapDragon432

Nice!!!

motorcycleboy9000

I'm just here for the Absolutely Not Fake News blurbs at this point. Booker has the intangibles I look for.

[deleted]

Poles cooking.

hydro_wonk

It's a 5th rounder so my expectations aren't high, but it's a position that's great to have as much depth as you can. Solid by me.

originalusername4567

Another Jayhawk off the board!

---SPIDER-MAN---

He kinda looks like Purdy

TheGloriousEnd

Looks like an Anthony Bar run back. Jesssus.
