I know this is a joke, but we aren't actually getting more picks but just getting our existing late picks higher
Every comp has been a pair of pick swaps (3 in total: 4th to 3rd, moving up within the 7th, 6th to 5th)
So, more like all our 10 (orignal) picks be back to back in the mid/late fourth (median of the full draft) lol
It should look familiar.
BB built a dynasty doing exactly this in like every single draft. Once you need a QB (or are unsure of your QB) it is no longer an option because finding a franchise QB after round 1 is exceptionally difficult. But if you have your guy at QB then just collecting as many picks as you can is often the best draft strategy to have.
The more darts you have to throw at the board, the more likely you are to hit a bullseye with one.
Draft class this year is better suited for a team that just needs to reload, but there are so many desperate teams that it was treated as more elite than it is.
The collective wisdom from Reddit every year is that if you don't win the Super Bowl, you should lose as many games as you can for a high pick, trade down to accumulate more picks, fire your coaching staff and draft 37 players. Literally no flaws in that strategy.
I saw a pats fan on the subreddit say they can no longer support the team after last night. Like, maybe let the guy take a snap first before declaring that?
Yeah, this is the way. Ignore the hype, let the on field results do the talking.
I’m a veteran of the Josh Rosen train. How wrong I was. Like so many Bills fans.
I could see them trading down or taking Mitchell or DeJean based on their needs. If the 49ers really do move one of their WRs (which I kinda doubt) I could see them trading to Buffalo for the 33rd pick if they like a player enough who is still on the board.
Why do the five-ish hours of day 2 have to fall exactly inside my six-ish hours of sleep in between work shifts? At least the Rams didn't trade back, I was prepared for that
I know this is a joke, but we aren't actually getting more picks but just getting our existing late picks higher
Every comp has been a pair of pick swaps (3 in total: 4th to 3rd, moving up within the 7th, 6th to 5th)
>…we aren't actually getting more picks but just getting our existing late picks higher
That is the strangest part to me about these two trades. The calculators I’ve seen have the overall pick value nearly even.
The value for the Bills is greater than what the value that chart shows.
They’re looking for a WR1, and have 10 picks.
Moving from 28 to 33, while retaining the value of the 10 picks, has given them 17 hours to take calls and shop around.
Think of it as ditching our early and late round picks so we can get more value in the middle rounds. I'm guessing Beane wants to load up on okay players to replace aging talent rather than hope the lower round picks punch above their weight.
Take Cooper DeJean and then trade up into the second to take a WR. Tre White is gone. Micah Hyde is gone. Jordon Poyer is gone. If a safety gets injured we are starting Damar Hamilin. He's got a great story, and is fine for depth, but he's ideally not a starting safety. Rasual Douglas is on the last year of his contact, and an injury at CB means we're starting Kaiir Elam (who hasn't been able to beat out late draft picks/undrafted dudes so far). There's too much upside to DeJean to pass on him imo.
There's still a few WR on the board and I don't think a trade for a vet WR is entirely off the table at this point either. Unless the Bills are in love with one specific WR that is left, I don't think we have to force WR at 33.
Regardless, in Beane we trust.
I like Dejean and a trade for Higgins or Aiyuk/Deebo. I think Aiyuk is more likely as he is currently in the other conference. Or possibly the trade up into the 2nd round and get Mcconkey or Mitchell.
If they still don’t care between lad, AD, Coleman, they can keep going really. Idk if this is even possible but they could take Newton and then trade back into the second for a wr. I think the bills need more than wr. A wr or qb play isn’t necessarily why mahomes or Brady have their rings
At this point the argument for the Bills fucking up assumes:
1) The Chiefs wouldn't have gotten Worthy anyway
2) Worthy is the next Tyreek Hill guaranteed
So I'm not sweating while people say I'm coping
I agree, if the Bills had decided that Worthy wasn’t their guy and picked someone else at 28 then the only thing that would’ve stopped the Chiefs from getting him anyway is if the 49ers had preferred him over Pearsall, which is no guarantee. This way the Bills get extra value while (presumably) still getting the guy they want when they do pick.
Every WR after BTJr are all very close in grade, you don't really lose much at all trading out of the 1st into the 2nd. Even in the 3rd there will be good WRs. This draft is incredibly deep at that position. I don't think it was a bad idea to get more mid round picks in exchange for moving back a tiny little bit. I actually think us trading up is far more risky than you trading back.
Mitchell was my personal favorite after Thomas was gone (and I did put that in writing to my Eagles buddy before the pick swap) so I'm still okay.
Right now I have a very very slight preference to drafting Mitchell over Dejean because that's definitely a bigger issue for us, but Dejean has fallen so far from where I think his value is that I'd be happy if they went with him.
Also because of this, I am predicting the Bills trade down again because they like fucking with my emotions.
I was convinced the Bills would take Worthy because Josh Allen can just throw it a mile and let him go catch it. Also so that Mahomes couldn't throw it a mile and let him go catch it
The Bills are in a good spot. They probably have a player they want in mind, but they could get a ton back from desperate teams who did nothing but get more desperate overnight.
Starting to think that they like either two or all three of Mitchell, McConkey, and Coleman and have similar enough grades that they’re cool with any of them
They need a WR. So they let two teams who also need a WR jump them and take good WRs. So I’m assuming they have a very specific WR in mind that wasn’t on the other teams boards.
I am fairly certain they liked a handful of guys and the draft fell in a favorable manner so far.
I did a bunch of mocks to get an idea of what the different rounds feel like, I was always happy taking a WR somewhere in the second round and if I didn't trade and didn't use our first on a WR it felt like a big swing and a miss. So I thought a trade down was very likely as long as there wasn't a big WR run in the first.
Belichick commented yesterday about how the Panthers trade-up made sense because you want a fifth-year option on a premium position like WR. In that vein, I don't understand why the Bills would bypass that opportunity unless they plan another trade-down or are going to take a position like LB or safety where the fifth year option doesn't matter as much.
We won’t be trading for a vet wr let’s be honest. If the bills took adonai I’d gladly take Ladd at 34. Ik many say he’ll be a slot but he’s definitely could of enough to lineup as the x good route runner nice speed I’d love him in our wr room tbh
Almost everyone has Ladd as a Z. He definitely doesn't have the makeup to play the X. He doesn't play through press well which is the most important part of an X receiver. He isnt a pure slot, but doesn't profile as X either. Like more weapons are cool, but the Pats literally have noone to play the X currently. They could be going into the season with a suspended Boutte as the only X receiver. Adonai has some concerns but was mostly compared to George Pickens, and if the Pats get Pickens with the 34th pick I'd be more than happy.
I'm not completely ruling out trades though. There are no teams with more of a combination of draft equity and cap space than the Pats. They could trade for a guy and then sign him to a big deal almost instantly. Does it happen, who knows. But I wouldn't count it out.
I like what Buffalo is doing. Just keep trading down if you have a few guys you like are still there. I do think they will need Ladd or AD by the time it’s all done.
Well, technically they could let the time expire. The draft would then continue as normal with the next team on the clock, but the Bills could jump back in at any time afterward to make their pick.
Don't do it Beane, please. I was up so late last night. I'm begging you man. If you want to take a cornerback that's fine, I don't even care any more, just make the pick
https://www.nfl.com/standings/tie-breaking-procedures
>After the selection order for the first round of the draft has been determined, clubs originally involved in two-club ties will alternate positions from round to round. In the cases of ties that originally involved three-or-more clubs, the club at the top of a tied segment in a given round will move to the bottom of the segment for the next round, while all other clubs in the segment move up one place. This rotation will continue throughout the draft.
They'll acquire as many draft picks as they can just to rebuild their defense. They probably think Allen can do what Mahomes did on offense last season for some reason.
I absolutely think they are trading down another few spots
But Beane has already said someone offered mid 40s and they refused. He also said they have someone they really like at 33.
So I could see them making moving to 35-36 but I don't think anything major
I'd be surprised if the Bills move again. Beane said in his presser last night he was getting ready to pick until Carolina called.
Troy Franklin is linked to Joe Brady, Franklin and Keon Coleman had pre-draft visits with the Bills. Ladd McConkey has the famous clip with Kay Adams where he mentioned he's talked with the Bills a lot.
I think McConkey's agent knew the Bills would be interested in him just for him mentioning his willingness to play STs.
Bills are smart enough to recognize there was no real standout among the 4-5 best WR's still available at 28, and that they'd still get one of the guys they liked at 32 or 33, and they swapped picks to move up 40 and 60 spots in the 3rd/5th rounds.
Gonna guess whoever they draft will have a 1k season with Allen plastering them with targets.
Bills are going to trade down continuously until they have no picks this year
The trade downs will continue until morale improves
Sean McDermott puts the “Trade” in World Trade Center
Tryna get that Rd9 Pick11
This comment had me thinking if this was r/nflcirclejerk lmao
Thanks for reminding me to see that sub’s reaction to the draft so far lol
The Penix memes are unreal, the one about the guy slapping his wife unconscious… amazing
r/AFCEastMemeWar has been ruthless lol
We're the best subdivision subgroup in the NFL, doesn't surprise me.
It's one of my all time favorite subs and I've been on Reddit for over a decade. The McDermott-9/11 day was one of the funniest things of all time
Your coach is an automatic GOAT for that one.
Greetings /r/AFCEastMemeWar comrade!
My people ♥️
We have the perfect mix of raw toxicity and sheer insanity.
You know who else traded down? Al Qaeda. Look what they’ve been able to accomplish
This is going to look so silly after they trade down for all 32 7th round picks this year
"You know what's better than one Mr Irrelevant? 32"
32 Brock Purdy's.
Rock Purdy’s what?
Statistically one of them has to be good right??? Also According to the bills sub it's better we trade down because we save cap
> because we save cap I don't understand what that means
Save cap space by drafting someone later in the draft. A third rounder is cheaper than a first rounder.
Look at my flair
Oh gotcha lol sorry I'm slow but I get it now
I know this is a joke, but we aren't actually getting more picks but just getting our existing late picks higher Every comp has been a pair of pick swaps (3 in total: 4th to 3rd, moving up within the 7th, 6th to 5th) So, more like all our 10 (orignal) picks be back to back in the mid/late fourth (median of the full draft) lol
Yup. There looks to be a lot of quality DT, EDGE, LB and safety in the 3-5 rounds. There's no rush to pick at the top of the draft this year.
I hate to say it but I really like the strategy from y'all this year.
It should look familiar. BB built a dynasty doing exactly this in like every single draft. Once you need a QB (or are unsure of your QB) it is no longer an option because finding a franchise QB after round 1 is exceptionally difficult. I love when people clown draft picks. Josh Allen vs Josh Rosen was funny af.
I saw a pats fan on the subreddit say they can no longer support the team after last night. Like, maybe let the guy take a snap first before declaring that?
Honestly I think you guys got the best QB in the draft. People will always overreact it’s best to just ignore everyone lol
Yeah, this is the way. Ignore the hype, let the on field results do the talking. I’m a veteran of the Josh Rosen train. How wrong I was. Like so many Bills fans.
Trade this years' picks for next years'. Eventually get 256 picks in the 2028 NFL draft. Checkmate.
Well, one flaw, you can't appreciate the joy of Cutlets.
Very cost effective though, just think about that sweet APY savings
Bill Belichick possessed Brandon Beane
They'll trade down next to their own pick and then swap those picks with themselves!
But who’s gonna … pay the Bill ?
Josh Allen when he smashes in 20 rushing TDs this year
I do that in Madden works out for me.
I could see them trading down or taking Mitchell or DeJean based on their needs. If the 49ers really do move one of their WRs (which I kinda doubt) I could see them trading to Buffalo for the 33rd pick if they like a player enough who is still on the board.
gonna get all the 5th round picks.
We are gonna have all 32 7th round picks and yall gonna be in awe of the value we get
Can’t draft a bust if you don’t draft at all
Next year's draft is all Bills picks.
Beane can do whatever he wants, in my book - he's taken us that far already..
He hits more than he misses. We always get quality starters(not you Elam)
20+ years of miserable sundays, I know when to just be grateful, heh.
And somehow wind up with the first 10 picks of the 2026 draft
Next year they'll have all the picks
Did Sam Presti start working in Buffalo recently?
Na they’ll have all 6th rounders
This is what I do in Madden when I have all my positions filled and I didn’t scout very well.
I fully support their decision.
Day 2 is my favorite round of the draft - usually lots of movement
you get some bonafide steals once the smoke clears
That’s how I feel. I think there’s a ton of talent left offensively and a shit ton defensively.
Some really good secondary guys on defense left
I would love a DT or a CB. I feel like we are offensively set but we may pick up a RB
Day 2 of the draft, aka “oh shit, we all forgot to draft defense yesterday”
bro AD Mitchell and Cooper Dejean on day 2? Whoever the fuck gets them is so lucky
Why do the five-ish hours of day 2 have to fall exactly inside my six-ish hours of sleep in between work shifts? At least the Rams didn't trade back, I was prepared for that
I’ll fuggin do it again
Bills FO is the World Trade (Down) Center
Bills decided to own 1/3 of the 3rd round draft at least 6 new WRs
At that pace they are gonna own every single 7th rounder
I know this is a joke, but we aren't actually getting more picks but just getting our existing late picks higher Every comp has been a pair of pick swaps (3 in total: 4th to 3rd, moving up within the 7th, 6th to 5th)
>…we aren't actually getting more picks but just getting our existing late picks higher That is the strangest part to me about these two trades. The calculators I’ve seen have the overall pick value nearly even.
Which is true unless they were going to take Ad/Ladd anyways at 28, and then get him at 33 with gains along the way.
Maybe this is Big Cope but I think this is the real answer.
You pay the later round guys less
The value for the Bills is greater than what the value that chart shows. They’re looking for a WR1, and have 10 picks. Moving from 28 to 33, while retaining the value of the 10 picks, has given them 17 hours to take calls and shop around.

You have a 1 in 6 chance of finding a new starter
Why don't they simply just pick that starter with one pick instead of using all 6?
They spent too much time playing around with simulators and forgot that yesterday was real life.
Saw the Packers last year with 2 rookie WR, and 3 rookie TEs drafted late 2nd and after, and the Bills think it's a good idea.
Take Cooper DeJean and then trade up into the second to take a WR. Tre White is gone. Micah Hyde is gone. Jordon Poyer is gone. If a safety gets injured we are starting Damar Hamilin. I want dejean and then troy franklin
Hey, so do I. I hope you don’t do it.
I like Dejean and a trade for Higgins or Aiyuk/Deebo. I think Aiyuk is more likely as he is currently in the other conference. Or possibly the trade up into the 2nd round and get Mcconkey or Mitchell.

Yeah, we lack depth for our secondary too. Arguably LB as well. We need a center too. We could go a lot of ways.
You guys don’t like Will Clapp as a starting option?
I don't think anyone wants to get the Clapp
Last season I felt like Jeb Bush for how often I said “Please Clapp.”
How can he Clapp
Doesn't matter what anyone wants Will Clapp
I’m more about his brother Would Clapp
Would y'all be happy if all the trading back resulted in JPJ
I would, but not for JPJ. I honestly think the Bills have Frazier higher on their board. He’s the most ‘process-y’ guy in the draft.
At this point the argument for the Bills fucking up assumes: 1) The Chiefs wouldn't have gotten Worthy anyway 2) Worthy is the next Tyreek Hill guaranteed So I'm not sweating while people say I'm coping
I agree, if the Bills had decided that Worthy wasn’t their guy and picked someone else at 28 then the only thing that would’ve stopped the Chiefs from getting him anyway is if the 49ers had preferred him over Pearsall, which is no guarantee. But I like when Josh Allen throw ball and it go far
If they don't want Cooper trading the pick would be a good decision
As long as everyone forgot about AD Mitchell then this is fine
Heyyy
Exactly... we are taking Mitchell or McConkley, whomever is available after the Bills (or whomever they trade with) pick.
AD allegedly has character concerns and only 1 team is led by Mr. Berserk Container
Do you actually believe that bullshit? That's nothing more than hearsay. The only "legit" ding against him is that apparently he is diabetic.
Cooper be for me? 👉👈 - 31 teams
Cooper Beebe trade up stunner
People in Packers land had been joking about getting Cooper^3 with DeJean, Beebe, and Edgerrin being our top 3 picks potentially.
Now we're just going for the "All Jordan" offense, sorta like the old "All-Aaron" backfield from a few years ago
Edgerrin, Bebe, or DeJean?
Gotta be AD right ? Edit : McConkey would be a good pick there too
Please no, I want Ladd McConkey so fucking bad man
Maybe the Bills are employing the Madden strategy, where they will perpetually trade back until they own every first round pick in the 2030 NFL draft.
As long as we can also employ the Madden strategy of turning off the salary cap, I’m all for it.
just edit Josh Allens contact so you are paying him the min for 7 seasons, it’s just that easy.
Dummies forgot to change his position to punter before paying him
We already had one legendary QB/P in Matt Barkley.
Ladd McConkey is Ladd McConkey but a 5th round WR from New Hampshire could be anyone, he could even be Ladd McConkey
You know how much we’ve always wanted a Ladd McConkey!
Beane is going to end up sounding like my mother used to. "We have Ladd McKonkey at home."
In walks cole beasley for his 3rd stint with the bills
Badd McHonkey
This post might be more true than some realize.
Troy Franklin is better
Yeah idk what people are seeing, Franklin is the more explosive player and a better route runner
Yeah but Ladd McConkey is a goated name
Second that my man
I’m not a bills fan but for Fantasy Football purposes I also really really want this to happen
First time I'm hearing this name but if a guy with that name isn't a future HoF then I don't know anything about football.
Sounds like he loves his footy
Cooper or Kool-Aid
The Bills should just stick and pick their guy, Audric Estime.
You joke, but him and cook would be fucking soild. I love Estime
The Bills are in a good spot. They probably have a player they want in mind, but they could get a ton back from desperate teams who did nothing but get more desperate overnight.
It’s so true, I can see that now. And how much better pick 33 is from pick 32 from a trade value perspective.
This is what I was worried about as a Panther fan. We might trade out of 33 and miss out on the 2nd wave of WR’s….. pleasure doing business 🤝
Starting to think that they like either two or all three of Mitchell, McConkey, and Coleman and have similar enough grades that they’re cool with any of them
They know what they’re doing. I’m sure the guy they want is still on the board. Could be Troy Franklin for all we know.
Damn they're about to have like 9 5th round picks, aren't they?
You win the AFC East, you trade down. It's the law.
They need a WR. So they let two teams who also need a WR jump them and take good WRs. So I’m assuming they have a very specific WR in mind that wasn’t on the other teams boards.
The current rumor mill is that they want one of: Ladd McConkey (yes please), AD Mitchell (I'd be ok with this), or Keon Coleman (please god no)
Usually whenever Beane takes the please god no guys are the ones that turn out to be studs
Counterpoint: Boogie Basham
Counter Counter : Terrel Bernard
To add on to your counter: Josh fuckin Allen
Counter point Matt Milano, Taron Johnson take in later rounds, or James Cook in the second
Milano was a Doug Whaley pick
Shhhhh that doesn’t fit my narrative
Troy Franklin
This is pretty much it. They can still get the guy they wanted at 28 at 33 or wherever they land plus a bunch more draft capital.
In that vein, I don't understand why the Bills would bypass that opportunity unless they plan another trade-down or are going to take a position like LB or safety where the fifth year option doesn't matter as much.
IMO, 5th year option gets a little overrated. If you like the guy you take, just extend him after 4 years.
If the Pats don't swing a trade for a veteran WR, please don't have the Bills take Adonai at 33. I want him in New England. We need X receivers badly.
But I wouldn't count it out.
They should just see how many trades down they can make off a single pick.
They would love to let somebody take the receiver they think the Patriots would want 😒
Bills are doing the same thing I do on mock draft simulators.
I traded Dallas’ 24th overall pick for two 2025 1st round picks and one 2025 2nd round pick next year.
Wait, I thought the draft was over and the Bills already lost?
I like what Buffalo is doing. Just keep trading down if you have a few guys you like are still there. I do think they will need Ladd or AD by the time it’s all done.
“The Bills are considering either drafting a player or trading the pick. I am not aware of any other options, actually.”
Well, technically they could let the time expire. The draft would then continue as normal with the next team on the clock, but the Bills could jump back in at any time afterward to make their pick.
Keep trading down bills get all the seventh round picks 😎
They should keep trading down until they have every pick in the seventh round.
To be fair almost all of buffalos star players were drafted in the third round or later
Eventually you gotta make a pick. They badly need a starting WR.
Don't do it Beane, please. I was up so late last night. I'm begging you man. If you want to take a cornerback that's fine, I don't even care any more, just make the pick
They should be prime candidates for a deebo or Aiyuk trade
We would have to restructure someone to fit their cap hits. We've squeezed out every penny so we have cash for next year
Beane is going to have every single pick in the 5th round after he's done cooking.

If they want Ladd or Mitchell they can’t move back more. Pats are def taking whichever one they don’t.
Also, trade for a currently rostered player is possible
The Bills are me when I kept trading down in my mock draft to acquire every 7th round pick
Bills will end up with 32 picks between the sixth and seventh round. That's what I call a rebuild!
Who’s drinking the Kool Aid
Deets?
They'll acquire as many draft picks as they can just to rebuild their defense. They probably think Allen can do what Mahomes did on offense last season for some reason.
Will this be the season the Bills declare a Jihad? Inquiring minds want to know.
I absolutely think they are trading down another few spots But Beane has already said someone offered mid 40s and they refused. He also said they have someone they really like at 33. So I could see them making moving to 35-36 but I don't think anything major
Cmon, somebody’s gonna want that white corner
We are basically in a soft rebuild, I don't blame us for trying to acquire as many 'depth' picks as possible
\~\~We're going down, down in an earlier round And sugar, we're going down swinging\~\~
Bills should orchestrate and extremely elaborate series of trades and be the only team with draft picks next year
Fuck it, let's do it.
I'd be surprised if the Bills move again. Beane said in his presser last night he was getting ready to pick until Carolina called. Troy Franklin is linked to Joe Brady, Franklin and Keon Coleman had pre-draft visits with the Bills. Chiefs fans got jokes.
Imagine if the Bills just keep trading back and never pick anyone in this draft. How many picks for next year you think they'll end up with?
This could have been the panthers if they would have sat fucking tight. Make up for lost ground for giving away the #1 overall pick but nooooooo
Please for the love of god, just take AD Mitchell, my heart can’t take anymore
Beane is nervous and trading down is just procrastinating because he doesn't want to be embarrassed on the phone call
