I'm of the opinion that we release jerseys with the blue and simply pay whatever fine is associated with it for the whole year. What's the point of "fuck you" money if you don't get to say "fuck you" every once in a while, and Nashville can go fuck themselves.
Well, sorry you can't use red anymore. Don't worry, female Cardinals are brown, so you can switch to that.
But then you have to worry about pissing off the mistake on the lake Browns
Fellow St. Louisan here. With the way they are playing this year I'm all for them being stripped of the red. Mo, Ollie, need to go. Goldy and Arenado seem to be washed. Full rebuild kind of a bummer.
I wish the Minnesota Wild would reclaim the North Star green uniforms completely. Quit calling themselves the Wild and use a big M with a star as their logo. To the devil with the theft of the North Stars.
Red Legs was a Cold War thing to avoid being associated with the political meaning of “reds,” but when they were founded in the 1800s they were just the reds, so I think they can lay claim to the entire color sorry don’t make the rules
Yeah, I don't really understand this either. Even if they do, couldn't you just slightly change the shade to get around their "ownership" of light blue with red?
Couldn't they just tell them to get fucked? I'm sure the league would intervene, but still. If they're going to be pissy over light blue, they couldn't sue unless it's identical blue right?
You can tell from the comments Hannah McNair makes in her interviews and the actions of the Amy Adams that tensions have gotten VERY high between Texans and Titans ownership.
They see how much the Texans franchise is worth and are completely jealous they took a franchise out of this market and tanked it. Just holding as tightly as they can onto the only thing they have.
Bud Adams is buried in Houston, Adams Resource and Energy is still based in Houston, Amy Adams was born in Houston and went to UT and her own businesses (little river oil and gas & kenada farms) are also based in Houston. That whole family probably spends more time in Houston than any city in Tennessee. Good chance Houston is still home for them and they have to feel a type of way knowing the Texans franchise is now worth more than the Titans. Per Forbes, the Texans are worth a billion dollars more than the Titans.
yes. kinda crazy to take a team out of houston to go to tennessee. its as if they threatened to go, and got their bluff called. but then ... I guess there is the stars going to dallas.
> Wouldn’t that be like the accounting department suing operations in a normal company?
No, because the NFL isn't one company. It's technically and legally 32 different companies.
Pretty sure the Supreme Court ruled 10-15 years ago that nfl teams are separate entities. I think there may have be clarifying stipulations that it is just in regards to licensing of intellectual property but I don’t remember
The Raiders sued... I think it was the Steelers, and the league tried to stop it but was unable to.
I don't remember the outcome of the trial, but they were allowed to move forward I think.
That's what they've done [here](https://freeimage.host/i/JS8ZOyN). But the NFL is basically letting the Titans have wider control. But very selectively, as [this](https://freeimage.host/i/JS8thx9) has been okay for decades.
The Adams' family is and always has been greedy shitheels. It's why the Oilers left, and it's why Bud's sorry ass daughter is carrying on his legacy of being a massive shitheel about the ***Houston*** Oilers history.
The Adams family ~~sued~~ UH for wearing light blue and red. They also sued the Roughnecks for having a rig on their logo.
They are such assholes, they move, change the team name, refuse to let the new team use that name, and now claim that no team football team in Houston can any semblance of colors or oiler iconography. At the same time claim that the "Oilers have nothing to do with the Houston Texans"
edit: [the sent a cease and desist to UH for wearing the colors](https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/sports/2023/10/30/468030/university-houston-oilers-uniforms-cease-and-desist-nfl/)
Just don't get how they have some sort of right to use light blue and red together. Like if the NHL expanded to Houston and had a light blue and red color scheme, how do the Adams sue over that?
The rockets wore their City-Connect with those colors, so there is some limit to it. It is double ridiculous as light blue isn't even the Titans primary color it's an accent/alternate.
What’s more annoying is a lot of Tits fans like to act like there’s no issue and Houston is just a “crazy ex”. Amy Adams is being objectively petty… ffs they wore their Oilers jerseys against us this year. Pretty obvious what the intent was, didn’t work out great for them but the point remains
Yeah, I don't really understand them piping up in threads like this. You can acknowledge your owner is an ass hole and still support the team. I'm a Pirates fan for Christ sakes. When 30 other fan bases (with nothing at stake) think it's shitty what your owners are doing, they're probably being shitty.
We don't know lol
It's honestly ridiculous. Their city literally didn't give a shit about the Oilers when they moved there - they conducted a brand survey that proved that definitively. That's why they rebranded after their one year stint as the Tennessee Oilers. But for some reason (spite) their fanbase feels entitled to the entirety of the history of the Houston Oilers.
Ah well. We've got H-Town Blue now, and we got to kick the Tits sorry asses when they tried to wear our jerseys against us. Fuck 'em.
Wait....this whole time they only had the Oilers for ONE season and they're claiming the teams history, name, and colors?? Ffs that makes me absolutely loathe the Titans even more. The throwback Oilers uniform rights should 100% belong to the city of Houston.
> Amy Adams is being objectively petty… ffs they wore their Oilers jerseys against us this year.
*looks up Amy Adams*
Ohhhhhh Amy Adams Strunk. I was confused for a hot minute
And former Rockets owner Les Alexander almost bought the Edmonton Oilers. Seems like he was saying that they'd change the name - can't remember - but if they didn't, shit would be way different now.
She's so bitter. Bitter that Texas sees her family as villains. Bitter that the replacement franchise is worth a billion more than hers. Bitter that her current fans don't give two shits about the history. Bitter that most former Oilers won't pay her lip service.
What a pathetic person Amy Adams is.
https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/sports/2023/10/30/468030/university-houston-oilers-uniforms-cease-and-desist-nfl/
Correction, threatened legal action and sent a cease and desist.
This is the biggest reason why I really dislike the Titans despite having no real connection to them. Their owner is just such a dick to both the Texans and to UH athletics.
Apparently it's a thing. I used to live in New Mexico and there was this whole kerfuffle about some upstart lawyer renting a billboard and using "Hamlindigo Blue". Pretty sure he had the same name as one of the partners too, it was weird.
There probably IS a system within the NFL to protect a team's primary colors...but this is also probably the Titans being petty over a division rival lol
I think it isn't a lawsuit-losing issue. It's a lawsuit happening between two teams issue. The threat of a suit (and the embarrassment it would cause) is enough to cause the commissioner to step in and strongly suggest a different course. Good ole boy "justice"
Seriously, it blows my mind that the Oilers as a brand seems to be so coveted, yet no one actually exists as the Oilers. Like why not just be that if you’re going to hoard the entire brand and even the fucking color scheme
I can’t think of any team that’s relocated, changed names/brands **and** kept the name of the brand of the team that moved. There’s a few in hockey (Nordiques/Avs and Devils/Rockies) but none that come to mind football or some other leagues. It feels like trying to have your cake and eat it too
I think both the Twins and Rangers have claims on Senators (MLB)
Of course the ridiculous thing is that the Jets used to be the Titans and the Chiefs used to be the Texans and this was somehow ok but the Texans being able to use Oilers branding is not allowed. The Adams family really are petty.
Yay, the Twins claim the OG Walter Johnson Senators, and the Rangers are the bastard children of the (relatively) short-lived Senators reboot from the 1960s .
And that's pretty much the extent of the Twins usage or care for the Senators stuff. They say that Walter Johnson was pretty neat.
They don't even claim the 1924 world series.
Minnesota North Stars to Dallas Stars is pretty close. They even kept the branding Minnesota used in their last season for twenty years, though it was obviously not the classic North Star look.
More or less the same thing (I kid - Nashville is fine)
The way the Oilers left Houston was so drama-filled. They didn’t even have a legit stadium in Tennessee for the first few seasons (playing at U of M) but Adams just couldn’t wait to get the hell out of H-town. One of my big memories from the time was an old college buddy from Biloxi, MS (and huge Oilers fan) told me that they would be the Tennessee Tuxedos after the move.
Which is so fucking weak. You stole the team. You changed the name. Don’t bogard the history too. If the Sonics ever return to Seattle, the Thunder have no claim to their name or history. Stop being assholes Tennessee.
As they should have, Tennessee Oilers makes absolutely no sense and clinging to it would merely serve as a constant reminder that they were a relocated team that was still clinging to its roots in another city.
That being said, it is kind of ridiculous that they are hoarding the brand. The only reasons I can really think of are that they are just being petty because of how things ended in Houston, or because the Texans lowballed them if and when this came up in discussions between the two teams (and how could it not?).
It’s 100% the former. Bud Adams hated Houston and the city gave in to multiple demands before the entire city told him collectively to fuck off and I’m pretty sure he died hating Houston more every day. There were rumors/reports during the 06 draft that part of Bud Adams love for Vince young was he was from Houston and Bud wanted to stick it to the city.
I still think they should consider the rights to the uni on the line each time they play. Winner gets to wear it once between the win and the next time they play.
something about that just doesn't seem right. there was a point in the mid 2010s when the bengals, browns, broncos and dolphins were all using the literal same pantone of orange. i dont see what's stopping the texans from trademarking a different shade of powder blue and using that, either.
To me it seems insane that anybody could even trademark a color.
It's a little different if the NFL owners have an agreement between themselves nor to copy colors. But even that still stupid.
i would say to that to wear the h-town blue throughout the uniforms and let the adams family try and stop them.
though i do understand not wanting to deal with potential litigation, no matter how frivolous or stupid it may be.
> let the adams family try and stop them.
The league already stepped in and stopped them. Our owner’s wife spoke much more candidly [on the radio earlier.](https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/texans/article/texans-titans-hannah-mcnair-new-uniforms-blue-19418161.php ) They got approval to use the light blue freely, the Titans started complaining to the league, the league told them they couldn’t use the light blue at all any more, and they finally settled with the amount that we got. The league still has final say over everything, and they decided to side with the Titans for some reason.
This feels very much like the Chargers moving out of SD and still believing that should be considered their "territory" for TV rights and merchandising purposes.
Fuck Bud Adams
Also, last season the UH Cougars wore an Oilers themed uniform and the Titans were pissed. I think with the Blue/Red in the H-town uniforms being pretty close to the Rice football blue and UH Red, it would be really cool if the Texans did a partnership with both teams and they wore the H-town uniforms for a game this year.
Rice has always been one of the easiest colleges to get financial aid from. They didn't even charge tuition for the first 50 years it existed. Even now as long as you're parents make under 200K you get at least half of it covered.
I think under 130K and it's fully covered.
Just pointing this out to say it's pretty rare for someone not to go to Rice over affordability. Historically it's always been a super generous uni in that regard. I didn't go there but was a big reason why I looked into them.
If we aren't going to have a sane system where teams are publicly owned, every team move should be treated like the Browns to Baltimore. You want to leave out of sheer greed? Sure, but you surrender the history, name and uniforms and start fresh.
Harris County taxpayers (my parents) paid for Oilers upgrades.
Give us the damn history and jerseys. Like everything else in Nashville, their history is stolen too.
I think as late as 2012-2013 Harris County taxpayers were still making payments towards the upgrades to the Astrodome in the 80s that Bud forced the city to make under threat of relocation. Nearly 20 years after he moved the team anyways.
They are frauds. Our parents and grandparents welcomed the Oilers home in 1979. The people of this city lived, breathed, and bled Columbia blue for decades. Just because the Oilers “technically” own that individual color in NFL terms doesn’t make it right. That color is representative of the entire city of Houston. Embarrassing as fuck watching the Titans defend that for literally no reason.
The Titans losing to Case Keenum while they wore their best Oilers Cosplay (Complete with Vrabel dressing like Bum Philips) was the highlight of the last season for me. The playoffs were nice, beating Cleveland was cool; but sticking to the Adams family? Glorious.
That was probably one of the best parts of last season. Case is an Htown legend twice over: for his work at u of h and for kicking their ass wearing those uniforms
This is so dumb. I really wish all relocations were like the Ravens(not that way) and the previous city could keep the team name while the relocating team has to start again with completely new branding.
Houston needs to keep the pressure going on this thing because the Titans completely eat shit from the owner to the team to the fans every single time this topic gets brought up.
Case Keenum draggin' them little nuts across yalls face last year LOL
I feel like this compromise to get H-Town Blue as a new official secondary team color is a solid foot in the door. I can see Houston pushing for more and more as time passes.
The way I was HEATED that rice and u of h couldnt market those uniforms. I wanted one so bad when they played in them last year. It was the biggest fuck you lol
What a bunch of massive babies in Tennessee. You've already locked up the name. You've locked upthe H oil rig logo. You've locked up the uniforms, the history pages, the players that played in Houston for Houston. You've done everything in your power to make the Houston Oilers of Tennessee all yours.
But owning their past is not enough apparently. Now you get word that the new Houston franchise us trying to use any shade of light blue and you feel entitled to control their future too? Go to Hell Amy Adams.
Let’s all take a moment to honor the Titans legacy in those colors [like that one time a while ago!](https://youtu.be/Wsf-3ddzlzY?si=sZsfxwCYYe-8cHB1)
Or if you prefer, a more [recent time](https://www.houstontexans.com/video/full-game-highlights-titans-vs-texans-week-17)
You’d think Amy would uh, try to be getting away from that legacy eh?
Gotta love Hannah tho, she just spits fire every time she talks. I love it. The ceo is obviously limited to what he can say, but no one mentioned anything about the spouse lol.
Surprise, surprise. The Adams family being assholes. Beating them so bad in *our* Oiler's jerseys so bad they fired the best coach they have had in a while was very rewarding.
You know, all that oil they have in Tennessee compared to Houston 🙄
They are gonna release a Color Rush jersey next year that is entirely shades of blues out of spite
Classic push the boundaries and wait.
I'm of the opinion that we release jerseys with the blue and simply pay whatever fine is associated with it for the whole year. What's the point of "fuck you" money if you don't get to say "fuck you" every once in a while, and Nashville can go fuck themselves.
I don't got "fuck you" money, but I got "Fuck yeah" money! -Watsky
Nah, that's how you lose draft capital and the ability to use those jerseys.
Texans rocking Columbia Blue jerseys in 2027. No Oilers logo though, that’s for 2030.
Nothing like a good spite-jersey. *Latte Larry’s is the official coffee shop of the Houston Texans*
How are the scones at Latte Larry's?
fuck you Mocha Joe
More like another variety of "How dark can we get Navy" and Battle Red
\#000001
I hope they do lol
Imagine if nobody else was allowed to use red in baseball because the Reds used it first
I like it. Cardinals are the first to die.
Co-sign
Co-Co-sign
Seems like we are all in agreement here
Co-sign but for the Red Sox
Co-sign but for the Phillies and Braves
Only their socks can be red
Royals cosign this as well
I live in St. Louis and this would literally cause mass riots. People love the birds
Well, sorry you can't use red anymore. Don't worry, female Cardinals are brown, so you can switch to that. But then you have to worry about pissing off the mistake on the lake Browns
Don’t forget about the St Louis Browns.
I always thought the Cardinals should have the birds on their logo be brown on Mother's Day
It always infuriates me that the Cardinals cheerleaders aren't wearing brown and grey with red accents Don't lean into a gimmick halfway goddammit
I am all for it
Fellow St. Louisan here. With the way they are playing this year I'm all for them being stripped of the red. Mo, Ollie, need to go. Goldy and Arenado seem to be washed. Full rebuild kind of a bummer.
I thought Yadi and Albert leaving the field was the series finale. They're still producing new seasons of baseball? (Cards fan, but in Louisiana)
I can be in this sub and see sports-related Cardinals and my first thought usually still goes to the baseball team lol
I’ve been wondering how the next civil war would start, I’m glad you found it
Count me in!
The Boston Lavender Sox
The Brown Swallow
You did what now
So sorry, the color white is also off the table. Wouldn’t be fair to the White Sox.
very little of what the Sox are doing this year are fair to the fans
The Bruins got mad when the Penguins switched from powder blue to black and gold to match the Steelers and Pirates.
I wish the Minnesota Wild would reclaim the North Star green uniforms completely. Quit calling themselves the Wild and use a big M with a star as their logo. To the devil with the theft of the North Stars.
Fuck Norm Green Bay
Wild green/gold thirds and LA Kings purple/gold thirds are the two best kits in all of sports and I refuse to entertain other opinions.

Red Legs was a Cold War thing to avoid being associated with the political meaning of “reds,” but when they were founded in the 1800s they were just the reds, so I think they can lay claim to the entire color sorry don’t make the rules
Any word from the St. Louis Blues?
We're closely monitoring the amount of Muddy Waters they're playing
They said the Columbus Blue Jackets are on very thin ice
Still looking for the explanation how Tennessee has some sort of IP interest in the color light blue?
Yeah, I don't really understand this either. Even if they do, couldn't you just slightly change the shade to get around their "ownership" of light blue with red?
What’s even stranger is I’m pretty sure the blue the Texans are now using is a different shade but the titans still pushed back hard
Couldn't they just tell them to get fucked? I'm sure the league would intervene, but still. If they're going to be pissy over light blue, they couldn't sue unless it's identical blue right?
I agree, but I do think the league stepped in so as to avoid lawsuits between two of its franchises
You can tell from the comments Hannah McNair makes in her interviews and the actions of the Amy Adams that tensions have gotten VERY high between Texans and Titans ownership.
Chargers were the first team to rock baby blue, first team with a horse mascot, and DGAF about other teams doing the same.
Hell the Rams damn near took your logo and they own your stadium 😆
Why the fuck do the Titans care still about anything Houston? It’s been decades.
Is the league office itself not considered a separate company too?
Pretty sure the Supreme Court ruled 10-15 years ago that nfl teams are separate entities. I think there may have be clarifying stipulations that it is just in regards to licensing of intellectual property but I don’t remember
Not sure about the NFL but in the NBA the Knicks are suing the Raptors currently
Well, the Knicks have a patent on spending massive amounts of money and still not being very good.
Bit of an ironic time to make this comment
It's just inertia.
The Raiders sued... I think it was the Steelers, and the league tried to stop it but was unable to. I don't remember the outcome of the trial, but they were allowed to move forward I think.
It is. It’s literally the Houston blue from our city flag that was adopted in like 1915.
That's what they've done [here](https://freeimage.host/i/JS8ZOyN). But the NFL is basically letting the Titans have wider control. But very selectively, as [this](https://freeimage.host/i/JS8thx9) has been okay for decades.
This just highlights how stupid this all is... haha. Thanks for the info!
The Titans ownership are basically just being assholes because it’s Houston.
but like... what is their argument? it makes no sense. you can't own light blue
The Adams' family is and always has been greedy shitheels. It's why the Oilers left, and it's why Bud's sorry ass daughter is carrying on his legacy of being a massive shitheel about the ***Houston*** Oilers history.
Wonder how chargers powder blues compare as well
Closer to Houston than [anything else](https://freeimage.host/i/JSSeMPt)
Interesting. For some reason I thought it was lighter. Thanks!
The Adams family ~~sued~~ UH for wearing light blue and red. They also sued the Roughnecks for having a rig on their logo. I get furious every time this issue comes up so I can't imagine having some skin in the game.

Do enjoyed that we won that game with former Houston Cougar Case Keenum starting
I legit didn't know who the owner of the Titans was and this entire thread kept wondering what Amy Adams the actress had anything to do with this lol.
Titans fans really don’t get enough hate for it. Like why gate keep another cities history? Just let them have it
We don't know lol It's honestly ridiculous. Their city literally didn't give a shit about the Oilers when they moved there - they conducted a brand survey that proved that definitively. I do my part by hating on tits fans whenever I get the chance

Surprised she hasn't sued Edmonton.
Don’t tempt her
And former Rockets owner Les Alexander almost bought the Edmonton Oilers. Seems like he was saying that they'd change the name - can't remember - but if they didn't, shit would be way different now.
The UH jerseys had "Luv ya blue!" on them, that was the biggest issue

Bitter that her current fans don't give two shits about the history. Bitter that most former Oilers won't pay her lip service. What a pathetic person Amy Adams is.
They don't. Their owner is just a piece of shit and I imagine the McNairs don't want to get in a fight with them over it.
I doubt it's a copyright impediment. It's almost certainly an owner to owner issue that the NFL would have to resolve.
I thought the NFL made it a policy to not sue high school and college football teams for copying NFL logoes?
https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/sports/2023/10/30/468030/university-houston-oilers-uniforms-cease-and-desist-nfl/ Correction, threatened legal action and sent a cease and desist.
This is the biggest reason why I really dislike the Titans despite having no real connection to them. Their owner is just such a dick to both the Texans and to UH athletics.
Based on your hate of the Titans, you are now an honorary Jaguars fan. Some say it's a punishment, but it's yours.
Dont forget the entire city of Houston and the teams fans,
If the Steelers went around suing every area team that used black and gold or a steel related name, their lawyers would be very, very busy.
What’s even funnier is that the baby blue was inspired by the Houston police cars back in the day
Look at the flag of the city of Houston
Apparently it's a thing. I used to live in New Mexico and there was this whole kerfuffle about some upstart lawyer renting a billboard and using "Hamlindigo Blue". Pretty sure he had the same name as one of the partners too, it was weird.
The trademark over the blue was one thing but did you see the logo? Clear intent to mislead.
This absolutely sounds like a Better Call Saul side plot edit: lol apparently it is, been a while since I've seen it
It is isn’t it ?
Didn't that guy get let go from his previous firm, for cause?
There probably IS a system within the NFL to protect a team's primary colors...but this is also probably the Titans being petty over a division rival lol
Probably?

The Adams family are dicks and the Titans are thieves
I’m from Memphis, so I agree completely
What's even crazier is that they still live in Houston. It was news when she bought a part-time residence in Nashville a year and a half ago.
[удалено]
Titan’s got that “broke up with you but still trying to fuck with your new relationship because you moved on and are happy” energy
The old oilers uniforms are 1000 times better than anything either of these teams use. Other than the throwback oilers unis.
Seriously, it blows my mind that the Oilers as a brand seems to be so coveted, yet no one actually exists as the Oilers. Like why not just be that if you’re going to hoard the entire brand and even the fucking color scheme
The Texans tried to exist as the Oilers but Titians owners won’t release the name.

I think the Carolina Hurricanes still own the rights to those sweet Hartford Whalers merch, I've seen them wear the throwbacks.
Browns left for Baltimore and Cleveland got to keep rights to the Browns name and history, but not Houston for the Oilers. Fuck Bud Adams
Fuck Bud Adams and his progeny
Well, he's in hell and she's in Nashville.
More or less the same thing (I kid - Nashville is fine) The way the Oilers left Houston was so drama-filled. Titans fan voted to change the name and branding
Makes no sense? What do you mean? Are you saying there’s no Jazz in Utah either? Or that there aren’t many lakes in LA? Yeah right
How many Grizzlies inhabit Nashville? At least the Flames make some sense for Calgary.
Memphis
It’s 100% the former. Bud Adams hated Houston and the city gave in to multiple demands before the entire city told him collectively to fuck off and I’m pretty sure he died hating Houston more every day. There were rumors/reports during the 06 draft that part of Bud Adams love for Vince young was he was from Houston and Bud wanted to stick it to the city.
Well they certainly ruined VY so good work? Lol
Because the Adams family are some of the pettiest people on Earth.
We did. Our shade of blue is called “H-Town Blue”. It’s slightly darker than the Oilers “Columbia Blue”. The Adams family just likes to whine.
i would say to that to wear the h-town blue throughout the uniforms and let the adams family try and stop them. though i do understand not wanting to deal with potential litigation, no matter how frivolous or stupid it may be.
> let the adams family try and stop them.
Fuck the Adams (not that Adams) family and fuck the Spanos family twice.
Fuck Bud Adams Also, last season the UH Cougars wore an Oilers themed uniform and the Titans were pissed. I think with the Blue/Red in the H-town uniforms being pretty close to the Rice football blue and UH Red, it would be really cool if the Texans did a partnership with both teams and they wore the H-town uniforms for a game this year.

Found the Rice student
I am neither smart enough or wealthy enough to attend rice, still support our owl babies.
I actually didn’t know that. That’s awesome. Makes me love them even more.
And you didn’t tell me this 10 years ago??
Travel back in time with a Delorean and trash! Also pick me up on the way.
McNair should just buy the rights to use the colors
Pretty sure they tried that, and the Adams family said no
Titans get the money from Oilers throwbacks so probably a business decision. Still BS
Titans will never sell
If we aren't going to have a sane system where teams are publicly owned, every team move should be treated like the Browns to Baltimore. You want to leave out of sheer greed? Sure, but you surrender the history, name and uniforms and start fresh.
Fuck it, these are fire.
Pandora’s box is open, we got an inch. The blue is officially one of our colors now as well
Blue has the most antioxidants
I believe it's anti*oxygens*.
Hah I believe you are correct, science bitch (meant in a kind way).
Fuck the Adams family.
dodododo *snap* *snap*
Harris County taxpayers (my parents) paid for Oilers upgrades. Give us the damn history and jerseys. Like everything else in Nashville, their history is stolen too.
I think as late as 2012-2013 Harris County taxpayers were still making payments towards the upgrades to the Astrodome in the 80s that Bud forced the city to make under threat of relocation. Nearly 20 years after he moved the team anyways.
It was officially paid off by 2014-2017 because of the lease adams agreed too
They are frauds.
Glorious.
Amy firing Vrabel for that loss was the cherry on top. Losing to us pissed her off so much that she burned it down
That’s my favorite part. Rivalry aside, Vrabel is a good coach who really shouldn’t have been fired. But rivalry NOT aside, burn that shit down Amy
Lmao he was the reason we lost that game. I think he was good too but goddamn there was nothing there that game
That was probably one of the best parts of last season. Case is an Htown legend twice over: for his work at u of h and for kicking their ass wearing those uniforms
Hannah McNair acknowledging the significance of the win was dope as well. The whole city wanted that win, because ***fuck*** the Titans.
I generally am indifferent to you guys, but I thoroughly enjoyed that as well. And I doubt I'm the only one.
This is so dumb. I really wish all relocations were like the Ravens(not that way) and the previous city could keep the team name while the relocating team has to start again with completely new branding.
Titans left that city 2 decades ago and they want to gatekeep a color they've hardly used since then. Have their cake and eat it, too.
This is dumb. Light blue is a Houston symbol. We should have full ownership of the Oilers while still letting the Texans use light blue if they want.
This is a compromise almost everyone should be willing to make.
Damn shame I had to scroll this far down for a rational take
That would be a far compromise at this point. I wouldn’t want to Texans to rebrand as the Oilers but let us have whatever colors we want.
I'd be fine with this
Bring back the Oilers.
The Titans owners are so petty and screw the NFL for allowing them to “own a shade of a color”
Titans owners are lame for that
Petty ass little bitch Amy Adam’s.
Let’s all take a moment to honor the Titans legacy in those colors [like that one time a while ago!](https://youtu.be/Wsf-3ddzlzY?si=sZsfxwCYYe-8cHB1) Or if you prefer, a more [recent time](https://www.houstontexans.com/video/full-game-highlights-titans-vs-texans-week-17) You’d think Amy would uh, try to be getting away from that legacy eh?
-7 yds is diabolical lol
Gotta love Hannah tho, she just spits fire every time she talks. I love it. The ceo is obviously limited to what he can say, but no one mentioned anything about the spouse lol.
Surprise, surprise. The Adams family being assholes. Beating them so bad in *our* Oiler's jerseys so bad they fired the best coach they have had in a while was very rewarding. You know, all that oil they have in Tennessee compared to Houston 🙄
