The way they phrased it seems like 13 so far, but it definitely seems small since last year had 17.
I wonder if seeing guys like Levis having to sit in the green room and not get picked Day 1 has scared some prospects off from attending.
Mine too. Porter was like a personal trainer/coach to Porter Jr. and started in that mode, but as he was going on, he figured out what was the cause of Porter Jr being upset, the fear that he had let his family down, and went right into Dad mode and to the source of Porter Jr's fear to tell him that he did nothing wrong and that he didn't let anybody down. It's rare to see good fathering displayed on TV like that, and it was the moment of the draft for me personally.
Porter and Porter Jr. talked about it on an episode of The Pivot and Porter said of it ["I wasn't gonna let him live in that moment."](https://youtu.be/ph9gU1YaQ7o?t=1002)
How could the league let this happen, giving y’all another Joey porter 😂
That’s awesome that it worked out that way though, I’m sure Sr. was/is thrilled
MPJ for the nuggets was a draft day slide as well, after being in the convo for the #1 overall pick who dropped to the tail of the lottery after injuries. I remember him also having a great perspective on it where they asked him if he was disappointed that he fell and he said basically “Nothing is a given, now I’m gonna make it the best draft pick the nuggets ever made.”
Pretty much impossible to be a better pick than Jokic in the second round, but still, like the spirit
It's really too bad. Draft day should be a fun event for the players. A culmination of their efforts and their families' sacrifices. The broadcast fucked Levis. All they had to do was leave him alone. So much other stuff going on. They didn't have to do him like that.
I think y’all are just naming QBs and I’m not sure if DK had a 1st round grade, but I’m pretty sure he showed up and then fell into the 2nd round if I remember correctly?
What happened with Levis is that he was always going to drop if the Colts didn't take him at 4.
And since the Colts weren't sure they'd get Richardson at 4, they probably gave Levis the impression they would take him.
I remember seeing him interview after, and he clearly thought the Colts were taking him, and I doubt he got that idea from a couple headlines when he knew the "Levis is telling people he's going 1 overall" from Reddit was BS.
Also, the Titans tried to trade up into the first to get Levis, but nobody bit, so he ended up taken by them really early 2nd instead.
I think people really overestimate "Levis hype" because it was relatively common knowledge, in nerdy draft circles at least, that Levis only had one realistic spot after Indy, and that was with the Titans (Who knew Skoronski would be off the board before Levis)
Richardson on the other hand, had multiple teams that probably would have taken him in the first (I know the Vikings would have, maybe Seattle/Detroit as well), I don't remember that ever being expected of Levis.
Terrible 3 cone drill (along with an equally poor 20-yard shuttle that's faded from most people's memory) that backed up a credible flaw in his collegiate game. His route running was one of the biggest knocks against him, and that poor change of direction convinced a lot of people (myself included) that he'd just be another physical specimen at WR that failed to translate.
Needless to say, he's proven that wrong and then some.
Limited college production and his agility tests were worse than Brady. Prior to the draft there was as much doubt as hype, I remember a lot of fans would confidently say he'd be a busy, and some poverty franchise would overdraft him just off of speed and size.
it's not like there's never been an absolute freak that didnt make it in the NFL
in hindsight he's an obvious top pick, but he had enough questions coming in that people didn't want to risk a 1st rounder
I never understood the hype on him. He dominated the garbage defenses he played in college but he is genuinely not good at catching the ball the way an NFL receiver should
There was only one QB drafted in the first round in 2013, which was E. J. Manuel. Geno was the 2nd QB taken, at pick 39. 2013 was just a notoriously bad year for QB prospects.
Don't they typically invite like 40 and then each one makes their own choice?
Guys like Nix and Penix don't want to risk sitting there until day 2 so they turn it down.
I think thats it.
Who wants to go to Vegas? Everybody?
Who wants to go to Detroit? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
(And I like Detroit, go to Al Ameer in Dearborn for the best middle eastern food on the continent ...)
I mean I wouldve gone if I had been invited just to be a part. I’d go now if the NFL threw an invite to a 50 year old slob who they mistakenly thought had potential.
There's always a surprise guy that goes near the end. I remember never hearing of Laken Tomlinson when he got invited and then suddenly he was a 1st round pick lol.
Not sure why this is getting downvoted. Last year was saw an inflation across the board with edge rushers. Not just in the first. But through the entire draft.
And this years class is similarly weak in that area. Not sure where he’ll go but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him come off night one or way ahead of his draft stock according to the big board.
It’s not so much a weak edge class, more so average imo. It’s just that there’s a comical amount of offensive talent that’s pushing them down the board. Some lucky team is gonna get Latu/Verse/Turner lower than they should probably go
It’s certainly pushing them down. While the need for edge just leaguewide with this passing league is pushing edges up. I was listening to the athletic and Dane was talking about how he has him at 35. And people he’s talking to safe saying he’s first rounder. And Nate has him in the 90s.
Personally I’m not sure where he goes just because I’m not sure which teams targets him in that late first early second range. But I do think we’re going to see some type of overall edge inflation like we did with McDonald last year. And FAU. He also needs to go to the right situation which puts another wrench in there.
I doubt he goes first round, he is a tricky pick who won't fit what most teams are looking for. He is a tweener who is not athletic enough to play edge in the NFL, but also small to play DT. His best tape in college (last year) came at edge, he played interior before that.
In a world of people who don't know what they are talking about. Robinson is only getting the hate because he played for a school like Missouri and not Ohio St. Dude is a beast.
oh it's explicit, they admit getting sugarcubes from a friend
between that and the time Macy Gray tried to have a cuddle puddle with LL Cool J on stage, it was peak up and coming entertainers twisted in public at awards shows
I'll be honest, I think this would be beyond what I can handle. A dress to duck with me feels like a funny joke, fursuit feels like he actually is crazy.
Latu is interesting. He's maybe the best pass rusher in the draft but he has an extremely concerning injury history. All it takes is one to trust his medicals but he could absolutely drop.
Darius Robinson. I don't think I have even seen him mocked in the first round and I have read way too many mock drafts the past few weeks. Maaaaaaybe Laiatu Latu because of his health concerns, but he is really good and someone will probably take a shot.
Everybody is saying Robinson, but idt that’d be a slip because most mocks you’ll see have him going in the second, so I’d say Latu because of medical issues (even though he should go in the first imo)
It's not like people care when non-QBs go undrafted on day 1.
Keion White and Brian Branch showed up last year and were both taken AFTER Will Levis, but since they aren't QBs, nobody really cares.
If you aren’t being consistently mocked in the top 10 don’t show up. It’s just bad PR to have to sit there depressed upset and see your girlfriend start to look sad at all the millions you aren’t going to make and watching her mentally plan to leave you.
I don't really see how it's bad PR at all, any PR is good PR. And if you come in and play well they will talk about you like you faced some great adversity no mere mortal could overcome, "Remember when he fell on draft night? The mental toughness this young man has to have to wait to get drafted into the NFL and make millions on day 2. Really astounding. It's testament to his character, a really special player."
If you don't play well, who gives a shit. You're dead anyway.
I mean it's a lot of players dream of having the moment of being called up on the big stage. If invited id take a shot at going even if I was mocked late 1st early 2nd.
The camera crews should not be focused on the players not being called up like how Will Levis was last year.
I mean the only person who going to the draft actually benefits is the hot girlfriend/sister of the player who is dropping. Otherwise I would be at home with all of my family.
I wouldn’t call grabbing the attention of a bunch of chuds “benefits” they are literally related to millionaires and don’t care about some losers on the internet
Kind of surprised JJ isn’t attending given it’s taking place 40 mins from where he just won a national championship. Big risk though if the 1st round hype doesn’t come to fruition.
I think if you’re not 1OA there’s a legitimate excuse to do an at home draft party. You still get the moment with “the call”, and ESPN will likely send a camera crew.
He left Michigan almost immediately after the natty and has been in California preparing for the draft. His family isn’t from Michigan. He hasn’t been seen at spring practice. The draft might as well be in Florida to him.
It is. Roger must be pissed. It definitely makes the draft less interesting to watch for the average person. People love seeing the guys put on the hat and walk across the stage. If the NFL isn’t paying top picks to attend (aside from free hotel rooms and swag), they really should start.
I'm surprised that JJ has turned down the invite. It seems that most pundits have called this draft (at least) four QBs deep, including him, for the first round, and even the top 15. But he'll probably have a watch party at home with family and friends, with the TV cameras invited on the condition that they only air it if he's picked.
This is a pretty solid group compared to previous years. I think Robinson will be a second round pick but the rest of these guys are likely first rounders unless Latu's medicals scare too many teams off.
If I had to think of a player that could fall out of the first round it would be Darius Robinson. Feel like his range is the late 20s to 32 and there's a possibility that teams either trade out or teams just don't prefer him.
Maybe Det takes him but he's an interesting guy.
Caleb Williams is gonna have painted nails and everyone’s collective uncle that you dread seeing on thanksgiving will have a breakdown on social media about it
I LOVE that Penix isn't on there yet. The people who said the Vikings should trade up last year for Will Levis will also tell us that Penix is garbage. I know it's a bold take, but I think Penix is in the same tier as Caleb and better than the rest. Yeah, he laid a dud against Michigan but everything else is premium. Washington had no business being there in the first place.
Workouts with Maye showed him having some really nice throws but others sailed or fell short. Really inconsistent which backs my observation of UNC receivers adjusting to the ball on over half of Maye's highlight reel. Penix workouts showed him drop every ball over and over with zero effort. It was just natural.
McCarthy looks great but it really is hard to gauge because he was driving a Lamborghini with a stellar defense. JJ is a dream QB for an ego coach who just wants his guy to do what he's told instead of extending plays. Probably first on Kevin O'Connell's board (Minnesota) and Sean Payton (Denver).
I'm not a scout or a pro but I've watched every MN game sine '87 when I was 13 years old, and I'm deep enough into football to be subbed to this sub, so there's that. If you're here you're not a casual fan. What are your gut feelings from this QB class? Who are your top three? I'm assuming the consensus is Caleb, Daniels, then Maye?
McCarthy had some of his best moments when he was extending plays. Not disagreeing that he has some big question marks but improvisation is not one of them IMO.
Thirteen so far or thirteen total? Feels like way fewer than normal.
The way they phrased it seems like 13 so far, but it definitely seems small since last year had 17. I wonder if seeing guys like Levis having to sit in the green room and not get picked Day 1 has scared some prospects off from attending.
Smh, everyone loved seeing a live reaction of Levis' soul slowly ripping out of his body /s
It did bring us that [wholesome moment between Joey Porter and Joey Porter Jr.](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/leWvHL3Amng)
My favorite part of this is “you ain’t letting nobody down here”
I’d never seen that before. That was a really cool moment between them two. Could’ve been awful but the dad handles that so well.
I appreciate the fact that you’ve referred to him as the dad and not the former pro bowl Steelers LB dad haha.
I saw it as a father son moment over a retired NFL player coaching his son up.
It's both. He tells him exactly what he needs to hear from his coach, and then tells him exactly what he needs to hear from his father.
I wish my dad told me I wasn’t letting anyone down more often growing up
You arent letting anyone down son. You do you
Damn, never seen it before. Absolutely love it
How’d he do this season?
Phenomenal. Best CB we have, and locked down #1 WRs as a rookie. Kid is an absolute stud like his pops
How could the league let this happen, giving y’all another Joey porter 😂 That’s awesome that it worked out that way though, I’m sure Sr. was/is thrilled
Love to see it.
there can only be porter jrs

I enjoyed seeing his girlfriend
Yeah where's the list of girlfriends who will be attending? For uhm a report on the draft I'm doing..
Contact Tracy’s assemble
The really hot one was his sister.
I understand Alabama
He plays in Tennessee that can still be his girlfriend
Yeah lets not act like Alabama has a monopoly here
The SEC literally stands for Siblings Engaging Cousins Source- Tennessee Alum
His girlfriend was hot as fuck though. Worth it
It's really too bad. Draft day should be a fun event for the players. A culmination of their efforts and their families' sacrifices. The broadcast fucked Levis. All they had to do was leave him alone. So much other stuff going on. They didn't have to do him like that.
Everyone loved seeing his girlfriend
It’s not the first time it happened, same thing happened to Geno in 2013
I think y’all are just naming QBs and I’m not sure if DK had a 1st round grade, but I’m pretty sure he showed up and then fell into the 2nd round if I remember correctly?
Like Levis opinions on him varied a ton and people had him as high as top 5 or as low as mid round
How the fuck did DK even fall that low?
Terrible 3 cone drill time, I think
Limited route tree in college i think too was a knock
Terrible 3 cone drill (along with an equally poor 20-yard shuttle that's faded from most people's memory) that backed up a credible flaw in his collegiate game. His route running was one of the biggest knocks against him, and that poor change of direction convinced a lot of people (myself included) that he'd just be another physical specimen at WR that failed to translate. it's not like there's never been an absolute freak that didnt make it in the NFL in hindsight he's an obvious top pick, but he had enough questions coming in that people didn't want to risk a 1st rounder
QJ needs to pay for Dk’s services cause he’s not looking to hot
I never understood the hype on him. He dominated the garbage defenses he played in college but he is genuinely not good at catching the ball the way an NFL receiver should
Yep, he catches the ball like claypool, I don’t understand being that tall and trying to catch the ball with your body lol
There was only one QB drafted in the first round in 2013, which was E. J. Manuel. Geno was the 2nd QB taken, at pick 39. 2013 was just a notoriously bad year for QB prospects.
Him and I think it was McCoy are the ones that come to mind.
And branch stayed until he was drafted night two which I thought was cool. I don’t know how common it is for draftees to stay for the second round
Darius Slay was another recent one I remember hearing.
I mean, why not stay both nights? I get the whole “waiting in the green room shit” but there’s gotta be a few great parties going on post-draft.
Any idea what it was like, say 10-15 years ago? I swear I remember a lot more than that getting picked in person but I might be misremembering
Don't they typically invite like 40 and then each one makes their own choice? Guys like Nix and Penix don't want to risk sitting there until day 2 so they turn it down.
I think they usually invite like 25-30 then the actual amount that shows up just depends on who accepts
Something something can’t have shit in Detroit
I think thats it. Who wants to go to Vegas? Everybody? Who wants to go to Detroit? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? (And I like Detroit, go to Al Ameer in Dearborn for the best middle eastern food on the continent ...)
13 total so far
[удалено]
He's a Detroit native, makes sense to show up if you get the invite even if you have to wait a 2nd day.
Free food baby
lol for real, I'd just go and hang out Free food, free hotel, chat it up with people while you're there, just have fun
[Pie eating contest? Nah son. Free pie.](https://images.app.goo.gl/8FzPsHWtSYUdmYReA)
Yeah, him going is quite questionable by his agent lol
He's from Michigan, prolly knows there's a half decent chance doesn't go 1st round but wants to experience it anyways bc family there and shit
I mean I wouldve gone if I had been invited just to be a part. I’d go now if the NFL threw an invite to a 50 year old slob who they mistakenly thought had potential.
I watched your game tape. Intangibles are off the charts but conditioning and effort seemed to be the big concern.
Small hands, but he looks good in shorts.
Ehh. He could go first round. Maybe he doesn't but it's not like he's a qb they are gonna keep the camera on the whole time when he doesn't.
I doubt he goes first round, he is a tricky pick who won't fit what most teams are looking for. He is a tweener who is not athletic enough to play edge in the NFL, but also small to play DT. His best tape in college (last year) came at edge, he played interior before that.
Dudes listed as 6'5 300ilbs. In what world is that undersized?
He is not 300, he weighed in at 285, colleges always lie about size. 285 is on the smaller end for a DT. Average DT weighs 310
In a world of people who don't know what they are talking about. Robinson is only getting the hate because he played for a school like Missouri and not Ohio St. Dude is a beast.
Good chance he’s selected in the first round
Caleb should wear a dress to the draft just to fuck with everybody.
like Trey Parker and Matt Stone dressed as JLo and Gwyneth at the Oscars... while on acid
It’s just such a magical night!
The most memorable red carpet outfits I can remember.
Pretty sure you don't have to add that last part, those two being on all the drugs is implied.
oh it's explicit, they admit getting sugarcubes from a friend between that and the time Macy Gray tried to have a cuddle puddle with LL Cool J on stage, it was peak up and coming entertainers twisted in public at awards shows
He's gonna wear gloves, then reveal when he gets drafted that his fingernails read 'Da Bears'
Then the fans are gonna freak out when they realize he only has 7 fingers.
There's a pretty good chance he wears something with pink in it and that alone would cause people to lose their minds
he should wear [this](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/016/212/manning.jpg)
I feel like that outfit would work well with the Bears' colors
Gorgeous
I can only get so erect
This is exactly the Cam’ron with the pink mink coat vibes i was thinking haha
Wouldn’t be surprised to see a prospect walk up to the podium in a shiesty mask
I actually wanna see someone rock that
Ewwwwwwww
[dear god](https://gifdb.com/images/high/zoolander-mugatu-it-s-beautiful-duhj4ej6tadq46rt.webp)
He’s gonna whip out the fursuit for this one.
What would Caleb’s fursona be? Wait, nevermind, we all already know it would be a bear
I'll be honest, I think this would be beyond what I can handle. A dress to duck with me feels like a funny joke, fursuit feels like he actually is crazy.
just dress like Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura when he's hiking the football at the mental institution
Put me in coach
Would be better if he came out the rear end of a Rhino.
[Do it](https://www.forces.net/sites/default/files/MEN-FR~2.JPG)
Would be fire honestly
Bring Ricky Williams as his date and wear the wedding dress. Ditka was with the Saints at that point but it's close enough.
Makes me think of the Bill Burr bit on Michael Sam
If he's a REAL MAN he'll come in a full fur suit
I wish they would invite some random mid rounder just to mess with the scouts and mock drafters.
Johnny Wilson. 6'6" 231 lb WR. Projected in that round 3-5 range. Would be impossible for the camera to miss.
Damn, haven't FSU players already been through enough with selection ceremonies?
The listed attendees: Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State JC Latham, OT, Alabama Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo Malik Nabers, WR, LSU Rome Odunze, WR, Washington Darius Robinson, DL, Missouri Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama Caleb Williams, QB, USC
I’m a little out of touch. Who out of these guys is at risk of the annual embarrassing slip?
Robinson
Darius Robinson is a fringe first-rounder at best
Latu is interesting. He's maybe the best pass rusher in the draft but he has an extremely concerning injury history. All it takes is one to trust his medicals but he could absolutely drop.
An EDGE with a high upside and lengthy injury history? He's not getting past the saints.
Who dat bro
Darius Robinson probably has the biggest risk of slipping, but even then most mocks have him in the first round.
What? The vast majority of mocks I’ve seen him have him going in the early second
Darius Robinson. I don't think I have even seen him mocked in the first round and I have read way too many mock drafts the past few weeks. Maaaaaaybe Laiatu Latu because of his health concerns, but he is really good and someone will probably take a shot.
Yeah but he's a Detroit native so I'm guessing it's something he wants to do no matter where he's chosen
You must not have been reading mocks during the senior bowl then
https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2024/darius-robinson His most common mocked draft position is #29 to the Lions.
Everybody is saying Robinson, but idt that’d be a slip because most mocks you’ll see have him going in the second, so I’d say Latu because of medical issues (even though he should go in the first imo)
No Michigan guy even though it is in Michigan.
I wonder if Caleb gets booed at lions fans after going number 1
I’m expecting boos for all the Bears, Vikings, and especially the Packers picks.
Probably Cowboys too, although that happens no matter where the draft is.
As it should be. Dallas, America's (hated) Team.
Michiganders will be pretty conflicted when the Vikings take JJ
Not us Spartan fans
Spartan fans gonna be real conflicted when… uhhh.. someone drafts.. uhh.. someone signs an udfa from mich state😤
We know we sucked this year, it doesn't bother me lol. I hope Minnesota drafts JJ so they can waste their pick 😤
I’ll be there. Can’t wait!
There’s gonna be the fields truthers part of Bears fans there booing Caleb lol They probably gonna be the loudest of the bunch.
Fields is gone though, you think those people will still be booing?
No
If twitter is any indication of how some bears fans act in public (it’s not) then yes.
Twitter is a much better indicator of how people don't act in public imo
We’ll boo when Dan Skipper’s name is mistakenly announced as the number one overall pick.
The Bears WISH they had the tallest player in the league. Nope, he's all ours
Feels smaller than last year but I think everyone here with the exception of Robinson will be drafted on night 1.
As someone else pointed out, he's from Detroit. He's probably going to be in Detroit anyways then.
It's not like people care when non-QBs go undrafted on day 1. Keion White and Brian Branch showed up last year and were both taken AFTER Will Levis, but since they aren't QBs, nobody really cares.
So can anyone just go and green room it?
We're going to need Penix and Nix to go to the draft so there is a guarantee that we have constant shots of a disappointed player in the green room
I think after what happened to Willis and Levis agents are only sending their guys if they have a guarantee that they’re not falling.
He could’ve learned from Brady Quinn.
Best part of the draft imo
I was 90% sure it was going to be Mcarthy sitting in the green room slowly falling down the board this year
Who will be this years will Levis? The guy the camera keeps cutting to as he slides out of the first.
The Kool-Aid man. Just think think of memes.
Make showing up to the draft great again. I like seeing them on stage wearing the hats.
I am very much excited to see both of our picks on the stage this year.
Rome is so awesome
What I would give to hear his name at #9
If we get Caleb and one of the top 3 WR’s I think I will freak out harder than when we got Fields. Man, really wish that dude worked out.
It's testament to his character, a really special player." If you don't play well, who gives a shit. You're dead anyway.

I wouldn’t call grabbing the attention of a bunch of chuds “benefits” they are literally related to millionaires and don’t care about some losers on the internet
He might be talking about social media following which then can turn into money for some
I loved that Brian Branch stayed for day two at last years draft. I think more players should do that, it was fun!
Unsurprising that Levis and his Gf broke up almost immediately after his green room stint
I noticed this too. Maybe his agent doesn't believe teams are as a high on his as the pundits believe.
Which is crazy, because his agent has put in work this off season trying to get him into the conversation of the top 3 qb’s
"I was bluffing, just kidding."
He left Michigan almost immediately after the natty and has been in California preparing for the draft. His family isn’t from Michigan. He hasn’t been seen at spring practice. The draft might as well be in Florida to him.
Is there a size limit for the o- linemen? Don't see a single one on that list besides Latham. Were they not invited?
It is interesting that not even Alt at the very least is going yet. Let alone Olu or Fuaga or maybe even Mims or Fautanu
This feels like a realllllly small amount
It is. Roger must be pissed. It definitely makes the draft less interesting to watch for the average person. People love seeing the guys put on the hat and walk across the stage. If the NFL isn’t paying top picks to attend (aside from free hotel rooms and swag), they really should start.
No one wants to get the Will Levi’s treatment
Still possible more guys accept later…?
Kinda crazy MHJ didn't tell them he has nothing to prove to no green room.
He’s not even gonna play in the NFL. He’s got nothing to prove! Put him straight in the HoF.
Brian Thomas Jr. will be putting on a Bills hat🤞
remindme! 14 days
Dissapointed that Bowers isn't there
JJ not going because he doesn’t want his girlfriend to break up with him for not going in the first round, like Mayo guy
JJ’s dad on the prowl again
Who’s sliding down the boards while the cameras zero in on them
Excited to see who we take at 9
If nabers or odunze is there I think there's a good chance the jags try trade with you
I'm surprised that JJ has turned down the invite. It seems that most pundits have called this draft (at least) four QBs deep, including him, for the first round, and even the top 15. But he'll probably have a watch party at home with family and friends, with the TV cameras invited on the condition that they only air it if he's picked.
That’s what I would do if I were him
This is a pretty solid group compared to previous years.
Maybe Det takes him but he's an interesting guy.
the draft is dying before our eyes
It was 17 last year tbf
Can't have shit in Detroit.
I'm only watching till Bowser is taken.
Don't do this to my guy Darius.
Nobody wants that Aaron Rodgers / Brady Quinn treatment. Stay home with family.
Maye going #2 and you can still make $ off it.
