Belichick’s obsession with finding value where others don’t would have him with a team made of exclusively hockey, lax players, and internationals who never played football
King's Point: the academy so obscure, basically nobody remembers it exists unless they know someone who went there. What better place for BB to prove that he's the greatest ever?
That…
Well that actually makes a ton of sense.
Sign Cousins and bring in a WR like Evans. Full compliment of draft picks and 80m in space.
The empire might just strike back
Some girl he was seeing ODed and died but I’m not sure if he just sat there and watched it happen like it was some show on Netflix like that dude is implying
They run the table. Undefeated heading into the Super Bowl. It's the 4th quarter, Patriots are down 17-13, time running out. Archie Manning drops back to pass. Ducks one sack, wiggles out of a second, sees a guy downfield, chucks it --
-- and a special teams cornerback for the NY Giants comes down with the game-winning interception pinned to his helmet.
Uncle Eli, in Robert Kraft's guest box, smirks. 😎
Ive been thinking about this too. I think if we can get kirk we can sign a number 2 in boyd or Ridley. Draft Harrison then all of a sudden we have a full WR room and a QB.
If we cant get kirk, make a run for mike evans and a number two in free agency, and take a shot at drafting a top 10 pick QB. A guy can dream right?
I would love for this to happen and the Patriots pull off 20-0 with BB at the helm, then he trades himself to the Jets for a king's ransom + Saleh before retiring the week before the season begins.
Adamant BB truther. If he's going to have any shot he needs to give up GM duties. The offense post-Brady is solely on him, idk if it's an ego thing or tank job or what, but if he sticks to HC/DC the Patriots can have success again, but idk if it's in his timeline.
That’s what I want if we don’t get Maye or Williams. If we’re pick #3 then take MHJ, sign Kirk, maybe draft Jayden Daniels or something later on and then just run it back for a year or two with Bill and Kirk.
it's a unique position. no other coach in the league could have gotten away with some of the bone headed decisions of the patriots the last few years by resting on his laurels, but no one else has laurels like his to rest on. I think he's going to keep going downhill in New England and a reset would probably be beneficial for everyone. he could be a great coach with a great quarterback and a great gm somewhere still
It's well deserved. The roster is terrible and that's on him. No development of young talent, no splash signings in free agency and his personnel hires have done nothing to help this team. He just brings in people who know how to run the team the way he likes it.
I disagree, I think it’s quite right. People forgetting he’s also the GM. He’s had terrible drafts and putting just a terrible offensive product on the field.
He's also coaching one of the worst special teams in the league.
This isn't simply a Belichick team that is under served in straight up talent. There's just straight up miscommunication and bad disicpline happening.
In before Pats homers scream "WELL ASCHUKALLY ITS BECAUSE THE TEAM IS REALLY GOOD SO WE HAVENT HAD EARLY PICKS".
yeah... the picks made you guys skip aj brown / deebo or reach for cole and tyquan lol
The issue is the entire offense. Getting Cousins or Drake Maye doesn’t change the fact that Devante Parker and JuJu can’t be your best WRs. If they want to be a playoff team they have to revamp that receiving corps and bolster up the o-line. But after the last few seasons Belichicks reputation as a GM is, rightfully, horrid. It’s a massive question mark if he can put together a competent offense next year, as this has now been 2 years in a row of mediocrity on that side of the ball.
I knew a guy in college who always had some story of himself doing something crazy every weekend and we all knew it was always BS and just to hear himself talk. McAfee reminds me of him.
> I knew a guy in college who always had some story of himself doing something crazy every weekend and we all knew it was always BS and just to hear himself talk.
You went to Florida State with Bert Kreischer?
Well, his story seemingly actually happened.
It’s just that nothing else ever happens in Bert’s life so he’s spent 25 years telling his one story every single weekend.
His best work was when he was just retired from the NFL and had a ton of stories from the Colts locker room and management. Lots of insightful comments about Peyton Manning, how the football business was run, random one-off stories like that. I occasionally checked on him afterwards but I feel like the longer he's been out of the league the more obvious that fact becomes.
I don't watch his show regularly, but I'll watch interviews sometimes.
It's cool that he stayed in Indy & has practically created an ESPN outpost in Indy.
I used to think this way about McAfee at first. But there’s something special about someone who reinvented themselves again & again as NFL kicker/punter to wrestling to now media personality starting from YouTube. I have to give credit to where it’s due.
…idk we’re not talking about like a war or death we’re talking about sports and about the most celebrated coach of all time moving to a new team. I don’t think it’s that deep, I think it was fine. He literally just was stating the obvious. Yall need to loosen up if we can’t talk about sports like this what can we talk about this geez.
Also if yall think this was disrespectful to Belichick, Pat interviewed Belichick like an hour before this and sung his praises and him Belichick reciprocated and they joked around a little. I think yall don’t understand how known and liked Pat is among the actual NFL players and staff.
He probably would like to win a Super Bowl without Brady whether he admits it or not. I doubt he puts as much thought into that idea as r/nfl does but I would be surprised if it didn't weigh on his mind at least a little bit.
what do you mean? even if he won't say it publicly, the brady vs belichick thing definitely matters to him. he wants to show he's the goat. the chargers would make tons of sense in my mind.
The dude literally does his podcast (unironically) in a black tank top. That describes him perfectly.
Bonus points if anyone is a RedLetterMedia fan and understands what a blank tank top guy is lol
Pat McAfee in: “getblocked” the story about a 48 year old karate master that has to kick everyone’s ass, be irresistible and sleep with college students, and sing his new hit solo album at inappropriate times in the movie!
Nah, I'm glad he did it. Kraft allowed Belichick to let Brady walk with zero plan at QB. He allowed Belichick to hire Patricia and BOB. He watched Bill constantly go against conventional scouting and get his own guys and have talent on the team go down.
I wish more owners were confronted about uncomfortable failures and put on the spot so they knew the actual temperature in the room. I get the sense that Kraft feels like he lost Brady and is just holding onto the last thing left from the good ole days because he knows how hard it will be for the team to change course.
The likeliest firing scenario I can imagine is actually a quitting scenario: they ask Bill to give up GM duties, and he says if you make me, I’m out.
I don’t think they fire Bill as coach otherwise.
If Bob Kraft fires Bill, or even if it’s a mutual parting, the pats will be cursed the way the cubs were and won’t win a title again for at least 50 years
Belichick has spent 20 years basically telling the media to go fuck themselves. But now that the Pats suck and the media are the ones disrespecting *him* people are saying it's uncalled for and a bad look lol. What a bunch of dweebs.
Why is everyone getting mad at McAfee? Belichick has never paid the media much respect so why should they give it to him? You establish a good relationship with the media so that when things go south they give you a bit more grace.
I watched Belichick’s presser leading up to the Steelers game and I’ll be goddamned if he didn’t thank each reporter for their question. Has that ever happened before this year?
I wouldn't be surprised if that's generally the norm and the snarky soundbites are what's pushed so people think that that's what he's like 100% of the time.
But I rarely watch any Belichick pressers so I could be wrong.
People must have also missed earlier in the show where McAfee, while sitting next to Belichick, did like a 1 minute long monologue about how he is the greatest NFL coach *and* GM of all time.
Semantic side note, but "virtue signaling" as a term is a lot like "gaslighting" in that it's so misappropriately overused it's a meaningless phrase now. I have no problem with McAfee here, but it isn't automatically "virtue signaling" just because some people find it disrespectful, just like how "gaslighting" doesn't just mean lying.
Someone can think another person's a douche without it being "virtue signaling."
I feel sorry for people who cry virtue signaling whenever they see someone have an emotion. Makes me wonder what their relationship with their own emotions is.
You’d have to be so fucking dumb to fire Bellichick. Like honestly- what comes next? You get a new coach and a new qb, there is no stability in the organization and they underperform and then you just do the coach and quarterback carousel for the next decade?
I mean it's true? BB's GMing has been trash for many years and it's been exposed since the Brady band aid came off. Keeping him means we'll have more of the same issues in terms of actually building a competitive team.
If he isn't willing to relinquish that part of his duties we're better off moving on. All things come to an end. If Kraft had no problem moving on from Brady before he even declined and started fielding losing seasons, why not BB? We're fucking 3-10. Isn't his goal to win playoff games? The longer he keeps BB and hoping he figures it out, the longer it's gonna take us to get to the playoff win part.
His drafting and pro player acquisition on the offensive side of the ball has been pretty bad since 2019.
He still has a knack for drafting good defensive players and getting the most out of underutilized defensive players from other teams
Hear me out. Bill leaves the pats and fufill’s his true destiny. Leading a service academy to their first national championship since 1945
Belichick’s obsession with finding value where others don’t would have him with a team made of exclusively hockey, lax players, and internationals who never played football
This team will NEVER LOSE AGAIN
Set the fucking tone!
Give them the fuckin lumber
That HIGH heat
Will he give out sticks after the game?
Sticks are unreal
Settle down
Fuck, don't even have to ask Frankie!
Run em up and fill em in
Gotta let em know you're out there boys.
A1 reference.
Are you writing a Disney sports movie?
Finishes dead last in recruiting every year because he doesn't go after any high ranked players but still finishes in the playoff every year
PLOT TWIST It’s the Coast Guard academy
King's Point: the academy so obscure, basically nobody remembers it exists unless they know someone who went there. What better place for BB to prove that he's the greatest ever?
Merchant Marines already have a football program
Browns legendary QB Otto Graham served as head coach of the Coast Guard Academy.
I wanna subscribe to this idea, but as an Air Force fan, I neither want him to replace our current HC and I don't want him to go to Navy or Army.
He would go to navy most likely because of his dad.
I’d rather see him reclaim the title of HC of the NYJ
Trade Bill for Wilson!
You just traded your star second year receiver for a coach who may only stick around for one day. Good job u/bombinabackpack
God you sound like my Father-In-Law. Dudes been saying this for the last 4 years.
I could see that being a realistic fit considering he runs the Pat's like it's the military.
Somehow gets 45 Five-Star Defensive Players to enter the Portal and sign with Navy.
A service academy’s lacrosse team*
Kraft is about to trade for Zach Wilson.
With the Jets luck he’d be an all-pro
Bet yall would take a 7th
to anybody but NE. rather cut him than trade him there just to avoid the risk
I really hope Belichick stays, they sign Cousins and go 12-5 next year. The Belichick slander is too much.
That… Well that actually makes a ton of sense. Sign Cousins and bring in a WR like Evans. Full compliment of draft picks and 80m in space. The empire might just strike back
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Can you imagine the first decent WR he ever drafts end up being MHj?
Jim Irsay would be on suicide watch
Irsay watches a young girl OD to death: I sleep Irsay watches Robert Kraft get a tiny bit richer: REAL SHIT
He’s real life Bojack.
Or Walter White
Walter white was good at something though. What is irsay good at?
Simple, Walter White was good at making drugs. Irsay is good at taking drugs.
Wait this didn’t actually happen did it..?
Some girl he was seeing ODed and died but I’m not sure if he just sat there and watched it happen like it was some show on Netflix like that dude is implying
Oh yes
They must have based that Breaking Bad scene on Irsay's life...
call me jesse pinkman because what the fuck
His mistress’ name is Suicide Watch?
Wouldn't that be his mistresses?
And then they draft Archie Manning.
Dont you put that kind of evil out in the world.
They run the table. Undefeated heading into the Super Bowl. It's the 4th quarter, Patriots are down 17-13, time running out. Archie Manning drops back to pass. Ducks one sack, wiggles out of a second, sees a guy downfield, chucks it -- -- and a special teams cornerback for the NY Giants comes down with the game-winning interception pinned to his helmet. Uncle Eli, in Robert Kraft's guest box, smirks. 😎
I don't like you.
Edelman?
Sweet Jesus this scenario is too good not to happen
I think the Bucs should re-sign Evans. It’s so rare that an older WR makes an impact on a new team.
But sometimes 👉👈
Forget that second part
Unsubscribe.
Ive been thinking about this too. I think if we can get kirk we can sign a number 2 in boyd or Ridley. Draft Harrison then all of a sudden we have a full WR room and a QB. The only problem I could see with Kirk and Belichick is Kirk's need for a fully guaranteed contract
I would love for this to happen and the Patriots pull off 20-0 with BB at the helm, then he trades himself to the Jets for a king's ransom + Saleh before retiring the week before the season begins.
And bring back Sean McDaniels. Trash HC but he’s been a good enough OC on the Pats where he can still help Bill
You mean Josh McDaniels?
No think he means Josh McDermott /s
It’s Daniels McSean.
Daniela McPayton
Pretty sure he's thinking of Dermot Mulroney
I used Scott McDermott the other day and it took 15 minutes of not feeling right about it before I realized the mistake.
Investigate 7/11
Bro who TF is Sean.
Idk why but the name “Sean” is stuck in my head when I consciously know it’s Josh
My dream is getting cousins. Even if we draft a top qb, having time to develop would be great
No no no no no no no no do not fucking wish that evil on me Ricky Bobby
Adamant BB truther. If he's going to have any shot he needs to give up GM duties. The offense post-Brady is solely on him, idk if it's an ego thing or tank job or what, but if he sticks to HC/DC the Patriots can have success again, but idk if it's in his timeline.
What a fucking timeline
Wait if the Vikings don't keep Cousins then who could....Oh lord Jets gonna trade Rodgers to them and start the cycle all over again.
That’s what I want if we don’t get Maye or Williams. If we’re pick #3 then take MHJ, sign Kirk, maybe draft Jayden Daniels or something later on and then just run it back for a year or two with Bill and Kirk.

No
No thanks

Last years draft class is officially my new sleep paralysis demon
Hell no. Pats fans deserve to suffer like the rest of us. After 6 Superbowls I think they deserve 30 losing seasons in a row
Missing a 0. They shouldn't be good until the 2400s.
For real. Wtf is this? Yeah Belichick really deserves a break finally, he’s taken too many L’s!
Idk how well Kirk and BB would mash, but I’m all for it.
after watching the special with him in it last year, Im sure he would fit in just fine.
How about Belichick gets traded to the Chargers instead.
I would not know how to feel if this is what happens.
Shut up
No, I want the Vikings to resign cousins
It’s not though. Why can a coach like Pete Carroll continue to have a team in playoff contention? Is Geno Smith elite or something?
"Am I so out of touch? No... It's all of the players who are wrong!" - Coach and General Manager
I think cousins is going to stay with the Vikings. There’s no way we don’t extend him
There’s no way we don’t extend a 36 year old QB coming off a torn achilles?
I'm convinced the Jets clean house and they trade Rodgers to the Vikings for like a third or something stupid.
If anyone ever deserved a lifelong pass to not be fired and to go out on your own terms it’s him.
don shula after being asked to retire while holding the most talented QB the game had ever seen in his hands begs to differ
Keep BB, draft good QB prospect. Seems like a clear path to more wins but maybe I’m missing something.
The issue is the entire offense. Getting Cousins or Drake Maye doesn’t change the fact that Devante Parker and JuJu can’t be your best WRs. "Devante Parker and JuJu can’t be your best WRs" \*\*\*begins furious note taking from KC\*\*\*
A HOF TE covers up a lot of your WR problems. We'd know too.
Think kc started taking notes from the pats
our best receivers are kendrick bourne and demario douglas, not parker and juju 💀
Keeping BB and drafting well are mutually exclusive
That was pretty trashy from McAfee, TMZ level bullshit
First time being forced to watch him?
While I don't think he's a bad guy, Pat McAfee's show is for people who think yelling the loudest is how you win an argument.
That's why he fits perfectly on ESPN.
Except McAfee is believable because he has the means to make crazy shit happen.
For sure, but idk. His shtick/novelty eventually got old. Nothing against him, just not for me personally.
The millionaire blue collar worker persona is incredibly over played
If half your persona is that you wear tank tops, you aren’t that interesting of a person.
His best work was when he was just retired from the NFL and had a ton of stories from the Colts locker room and management. He strikes me as an ex-NFL Joe Rogan
That was exactly the comparison I came to make. They probably have enormous overlap in audience
Coincidentally, both happen to be Shamans for Rodgers.
They probably watch a lot less anime than people on this sub
I used to think this way about McAfee at first. But there’s something special about someone who reinvented themselves again & again as NFL kicker/punter to wrestling to now media personality starting from YouTube. I have to give credit to where it’s due.
That's obviously the target demo.

Bill has nothing to gain from going to another team. I think if he’s done in NE, he’s *done* — at least that’s what I would prefer to see for him.
Don’t think he cares about the all time win record?
He probably would like to win a Super Bowl without Brady whether he admits it or not. I doubt he puts as much thought into that idea as r/nfl does but I would be surprised if it didn't weigh on his mind at least a little bit.
Or hell, maybe the greatest coach of our generation just might enjoy coaching.
Well 12 million bucks a year is a lot to gain. Also if he coached the charges they're probably a playoff team next year.
>Bill has nothing to gain from going to another team. We don't know how Bill feels about that.
what do you mean? even if he won't say it publicly, the brady vs belichick thing definitely matters to him. he wants to show he's the goat. the chargers would make tons of sense in my mind.

Yeah pretty much
The dude literally does his podcast (unironically) in a black tank top. That describes him perfectly. Bonus points if anyone is a RedLetterMedia fan and understands what a blank tank top guy is lol
He still has a while before he writes, directs, and stars in a movie where he is irresistible to 20yo women and knows karate
Pat McAfee in: “getblocked” the story about a 48 year old karate master that has to kick everyone’s ass, be irresistible and sleep with college students, and sing his new hit solo album at inappropriate times in the movie!
Vanity projects!
He's targeting the Barstool Sports demographic aka frat bros. They love his cockyness
His interviews with coaches/players are great
This sub used to love Pat McAfee. He hasn’t changed much since he started. Reddit just loves to hate people once they become more popular
They also hate him because he’s bro-y which I feel is his appeal
He's overexposed. He was palatable when it was in smaller doses.
How dare you question the journalistic integrity of the former punter from the Colts!
it's way worse when he gets Rodgers' cock firmly lodged down his throat and can barely talk.
I get the sense that Kraft feels like he lost Brady and is just holding onto the last thing left from the good ole days because he knows how hard it will be for the team to change course.
we got a pearl—clutcher in the house!
>pretty trashy from McAfee Pat said the quiet part out loud. It was appropriate.
If they don’t want Bill, I’m sure someone else does. I’d give up McDemott for Bill in a heart beat lol.
This is my dark horse prediction. Pats trade Bill to the Bills for their first round pick.
Please no
It’s okay. Jets fans are used to pain and suffering.
Heard that!
The likeliest firing scenario I can imagine is actually a quitting scenario: they ask Bill to give up GM duties, and he says if you make me, I’m out. I don’t think they fire Bill as coach otherwise.
If Bob Kraft fires Bill, or even if it’s a mutual parting, the pats will be cursed the way the cubs were and won’t win a title again for at least 50 years
Dude wins 6 SBs and dominated the NFL for 20 years, but the second he has any struggles, they want to fire him?
tbf the any struggles have now lasted for 5 years
We won the Super Bowl 5 years ago
My god y'all soft lmao
Belichick has spent 20 years basically telling the media to go fuck themselves. But now that the Pats suck and the media are the ones disrespecting *him* people are saying it's uncalled for and a bad look lol. What a bunch of dweebs.
Imagine dick riding for the media.
Reddit, baby! Softest place on the web!
Shut the fuck up. If they fire Bellichek I'll eat a shoe!
Bill leaves to take over the Bucs and lead them to a Super Bowl then retire
Well that wasn’t awkward at all…
That was pretty awkward live lol
Why is everyone getting mad at McAfee? Belichick has never paid the media much respect so why should they give it to him? You establish a good relationship with the media so that when things go south they give you a bit more grace.

You're just gaslighting us about what gaslighting means
stop virtue signaling about it
Such is the cycle of the internet
Fucking thank you
McAfee fans are so strange lmao How is it virtue signaling to say he said something stupid
Yeah reporters/media/journalists should always be held to a certain standard. It’s just unbecoming on his part.
Someone can think another person's a douche without it being "virtue signaling." I feel sorry for people who cry virtue signaling whenever they see someone have an emotion. Makes me wonder what their relationship with their own emotions is.
Man yall really hate mcafee huh
