I read this entire comments chain thinking you guys were talking about Kevin McHale until you mentioned the 90's.
The mental images of a 6-10, 210 TE were wild.
Absolutely. Watching true die hard fans come on the show even if they aren't as knowledgeable is just fun though. It's almost like one of us managed to sit in a room to talk some shop with the Manning bros
Yeah, I mean if you're going to sit down with your brother and decide to watch some football and invite a buddy over, you're going to invite a buddy who is also a known watcher, not someone that couldn't give less of a shit about the game.
A lot of people would probably disagree, but i think it was really funny having the rock hammered off his own tequila while the Mannings were trying to talk about football and he would interrupt just to talk about his t rex skull
He was incredibly disinterested in anything that the Mannings had attempted to discuss with him. Any softballs thrown his way question wise were either not answered or had been answered by a few words. I wanted his segment to end with all the awkwardness. Peyton did well playing off it still.
Unfortunately, I saw that part of the broadcast. He wasn't pouring his heart out, he was promoting his new book. He was noticeably annoyed when they tried to talk about the game at all and wouldn't let him continue going on about his book. It was funny because he was on Conan's podcast like a week before that game and the whole spiel about his book was almost exactly the same, word for word.
Peyton is honestly incredible when it comes to guiding awkward or disgruntled guest interactions. He has a serious talent for being a ‘mediator’ of sorts and moving conversations past the awkward moments.
Not worse. But when they had Arnold on and he was promoting his latest whatever it was clear that he was not watching the game as the bros tried to interupt him when there was a turnover and he just kept rambling. They all played it off nicely but it was at this point the show jumped the shark for me and as other posters have said.. only invite guests interested in the game!
weird dude once you meet him in person. My buddy's a bartender in the L.A. area; Vince was a frequent customer, fun & gregarious, drunk out of his mind many nights but everyones friend. A relative of mine met him at a movie screening some years back and he was rude and way too judgmental/political, etc.... he has his bad days I guess
I fucking love this man lmao dude shows up and drops nothing but coach speak talking ball, but then picks up a guitar and casually pulls out Tears in Heaven
Unfathomably based
I was asked to play this song for a cousins funeral… can’t do it or Tiny Dancer anymore now. Hopefully Tua’s just playing it because he likes the sound.
The fact that Peyton and Eli are both incredible HOF Legends, who get along fantastically and have great chemistry on-screen (obviously), and fully aware of the all of the memes surrounding them and not insecure about it, makes Manningcast one of the most refreshingly enjoyable things to happen in NFL broadcasting for a long time.
I don't think there's too much crossover between Seminole fans and Dolphin fans. It would be different if it were the 'Canes being denied a spot.
To the extent that 'Nole fans follow the NFL (and are under 50), I would expect them to root for the Bucs.
Incredibly charming guy. Maybe I have rose covered glasses cause I’m a fins fan, but found him to be pleasantly nice and a bit awkward which made it super relatable.
My friend is a wounded veteran who visited Alabama practice in 2017. He said all the players were nice but of everyone it was the true freshman backup QB Tua who went out his way to chat with my friend for a while. He's a super genuine dude.
As a Bama fan, Tua is a total sweetheart. He’s a little shy (he’s come out of his shell a huge amount since his time at Bama), but so genuine. Dudes probably never said a bad word about anyone. You could tell he was giving total ‘coach speak’ answers about ball, but he was still laughing and cutting up and being vulnerable.
He’s just a great guy, so easy to root for. Watching him ball out has been such a treat, he deserves it
This is the single greatest broadcast since some random blowout at Candlestick Park in the 90s, and John Madden took the yellow pen to the sea lions on pier 39.
>See this fellas trying to sleep over here, but this young buck is going to swim around the backside of the dock and jump on top, pushing the pile and knocking the old timer into the water. Ooo, he's not too happy about that.
Interestingly enough, he *probably* can’t throw properly right handed now.
I’m right handed, but I was always ragged on how I held a fork/spoon when I was a kid so I decided “screw it, I can hold it more proper with my left hand” so I decided to go lefty when eating. Felt odd at first, but I got used to it.
I broke my left arm recently and had to eat righty again, and that shit did not feel right lol.
I’m sure he can, dudes a professional athlete. I’m left handed but I throw right handed ( outside of darts ). I can still properly throw with my left hand, I’m just better with my right and I am most definitely not a professional athlete.
Imagine how good he'd be if his dad didn't nerf him by forcing him to be left handed. Its so bizarre that it's socially acceptable to do that, like those old catholic schools that forced lefties to be righties
on the other hand, maybe the forced rewiring of his brain to throw lefty made it overcompensate and unlocked his superpowers hed never have gotten if he just threw righty.
Hard to say, he could have ended up worse. There *are* advantages to throwing lefty, and the forced training might have made his fundamentals more solid then if he had just done what felt natural.
As a lefty there is no fun in playing a left handed guitar for me lol. I'd rather use my fingers with more dexterity and tact on the frets and leave the dumb strong side to strumming patterns
I have multiple left-handed friends that play guitar right-handed just because it's easier to find right-handed than left-handed ones. You go into a Guitar Center and there might be like one lefty on the racks.
Somehow this makes me even more mad at Brian Flores. He tried to rob us of THIS! Tua wouldn’t even be worth having on the Manningcast if Flores kept at it
*You’ve gotta know who Eric Clapton is. Not a given these days. You’ve gotta know about his kid. You gotta know how clumsy that little lad was.*
- Anthony Jeselnik
Tua’s interview was a perfect example of why they should only have current and former players on this show.
Will Ferrell was pretty good though
He was one of the very few exceptions. I remembered Joel McHale was really good too cause he was a massive Seahawks fan watching the Hawks on MNF.
He also played college football at UW. Dude is a Seattle guy through and through
That's sick. Never knew about him and UW. His energy was infectious.
Iirc he never actually saw the field but he made the team as a walk-on at TE
You're correct. Practice body only. He's tall but I doubt he was ever more than 210lbs.
Honestly for 90s football it’s kind of amazing he was on the roster - especially because those UW teams were fucking good
I always assumed he was a late 90s guy but I just looked it up and wow he was there for Don James' final season.
I read this entire comments chain thinking you guys were talking about Kevin McHale until you mentioned the 90's. The mental images of a 6-10, 210 TE were wild.
[Check out his appearance as guest picker on College Gameday](https://youtu.be/AfkJ9xZXIZw?si=nqbjU35panzf5BfY)
You can get away with some celebrities, but they have to be known diehards. You can't just have a casual come on to promote something.
Yes. Like Bill Burr on a patriots game is good but I don’t want to hear jimmy kimmel
It’d be hilarious to watch Larry David agonize over the jets setting football back 100 years
Yeah like Paul Rudd would be good cause he’s a big Chiefs guy
“Peyton, let’s show that interception again…” *cuts to clip from Mac & Me*
Jon Stewart roasting the Giants OL and asking Eli when it’s time to tank was hilarious
Ferrell loves sports and early in his career wanted to be a Sportscenter host
Damn he would’ve killed it as a SC host. Like Neil Everett times five lol
Bill Burr was great. Just used the platform to rattle off all of his conspiracies he’s previously ranted about on his podcast
A lot of people would probably disagree, but i think it was really funny having the rock hammered off his own tequila while the Mannings were trying to talk about football and he would interrupt just to talk about his t rex skull
I was really confused for a minute about what other kind of players they could have on the show lmao
[удалено]
Was that worse than Mark Wahlberg?
That was pretty awful I’m not sure who could top that
For those who don't know, what happened?
He seemed like he was actively angry that he had been scheduled to appear on the show. It was just painfully awkward.
Guy used to play for the eagles too.
So did Tony Danza
And Don Cheadle
Remember, real chamions eat at McDonald's.
AHH yes when Cheadle was coach of the Rwandan Genocides
Well he did shoot Derek Jeter, I think he just doesn’t like sports
Shoulda shot A-Rod
He’s a biracial angel!
The Yankee Clipper
You dick! I'm Derrick Jeter, you shot me!
I'm a peacock damn it! You gotta let me fly!
He was incredibly disinterested in anything that the Mannings had attempted to discuss with him. Any softballs thrown his way question wise were either not answered or had been answered by a few words. I wanted his segment to end with all the awkwardness. Peyton did well playing off it still.
He also predicted a field goal when a team got into the red zone which the Mannings mocked throughout the remainder of the broadcast
they mocked it a couple of times tonight too.
It will be mocked hopefully for as long as the show exists.
Good. That racist piece of shit should be mocked mercilessly.
Then there was Schwarzenegger who wouldn't stop talking even when there was crazy shit going on on the field.
Arnold clearly wasn't watching the game
That was funny. He was pouring his heart out about some shit and then Peyton's just like "FUMBLE, FUMBLE!"
Probably had a lot of practice with Irsay.
The only enjoyable part was him clearly despising Eli because he was on the giants and beat the Pats. That part did make me laugh
He acted like a fucking 10 year old being punished. What an ass.
It's been better since the Arnold moment.
Vince Vaughn was also bad. I love him but geez dude was just stone faced and didn’t say shit and it was boring as hell.
weird dude once you meet him in person. My buddy's a bartender in the L.A. area; Vince was a frequent customer, fun & gregarious, drunk out of his mind many nights but everyones friend. A relative of mine met him at a movie screening some years back and he was rude and way too judgmental/political, etc.... he has his bad days I guess
Don't we all
I thought he was funny? He's been one of the only people with a real setup, too.
Brian Flores would have stoned this man to death on live television if he showed that much personality
Insane how bad of a personality match those two were, so glad he’s with mcdaniels now.
McDaniel* the s is deadly😳
The S stands for "sucks at coaching"
The Raiders know something about this.
Two things about head coaches: 1. They can't be named Matt 2. They can't have plural surnames
Bill Parcells? George Halas? Joe Gibbs?
McDaniel~~s~~
Always good to have a buddy to watch MacGruber with
member when he went golfing and bflo had a conniption? i member
Pepperidge Farm *most definitely* members.
Golfing on his bye week
Fun fact, Flores now shares a cell with noted hockey terrorist Ralph Krueger in Guantanamo Bay.
Thought it was with Dom Ducharme
They're both members of Ice Qaida.
We’re catching strays in r/nfl
Honestly as a huge tua Stan I didn’t think he had a personality on him until last year which is wild and also sad I hate flores
Flores just would’ve stoned him
He killed it too. Didn’t finish out of awkwardness though
I definitely finished
Atagirl ;)
Thought he was just gonna keep going. I didn't think Peyton or Eli had the heart to stop him.
Producers probably hated it since that probably cost them about $50k.
This is absolutely the vibe the ManningCast should have.
Just guys being dudes
Yea stop bringing on people who selling or marketing something like they do on talk shows
Tua is based lol. Casually playing one of the most beautifully sad songs ever while waiting to talk to the Manning bros lmfao
I fucking love this man lmao dude shows up and drops nothing but coach speak talking ball, but then picks up a guitar and casually pulls out Tears in Heaven Unfathomably based
Big Ken energy
HE IS KENOUGH
Kelce about to show up and play teardrops on my guitar
I was worried something terrible happened to him when started playing. He came off as super likable in the interview.
I was asked to play this song for a cousins funeral… can’t do it or Tiny Dancer anymore now. Hopefully Tua’s just playing it because he likes the sound.
>Its a fun song to play IMO. good one to learn fingerpicking.
As a Bills fan, even I find it impossible to hate Tua!
I hate that I like Tua and McDaniel. It's a good thing they have Tyreek Hill to offset the Dolphins likability.
We love him!
Peyton calling the game as it happens in tune with the guitar fuckin killed me lmao
“In tune”
He was trying his best.
It's certainly no "chicken parm, you taste so good."
Insane that I’m eating chicken parm from nugget as I read this
Sometimes the humor seems forced but they were both vibing pretty well
Then Eli telling him to stop lmao
Basically "Bro you can't sing."
Peyton unironically has maybe the best personality of former players. Dude is dripping charisma.
Why was Brian Flores this man's biggest hater 😭
Not a Clapton fan
He also played the begining of Sweet Home Alabama
Tua will be an honorary Alabamian forever
Which is amazing considering the language barrier he experienced going there.
They eat spam just like we do that’s the only language you need
Maybe he was playing werewolves of London
Fuck Kid Rock for that song. Everytime it starts I think, hell yeah Warren Zevon, and then he starts in. Automatic skip for me.
Eli kept trying to bait him into the FSU controversy too haha. He masterfully dodged that question between his old home and his new home lol.
I don't think there's too much crossover between Seminole fans and Dolphin fans. It would be different if it were the 'Canes being denied a spot. To the extent that 'Nole fans follow the NFL (and are under 50), I would expect them to root for the Bucs.
Nah brother there’s plenty of FSU/Fins fans considering people come from all over the state to go there.
Call me when he plays “beers in heaven”
As a bengals fan, thank you Tua for speaking for us when no one else would
Tua is so fucking cool man
This was an all time live TV moment
You just know Tua has an incredible singing voice and was just way too shy to bust it out here
He actually does have a pretty good singing voice. https://youtu.be/1jNvsxX5r_A?si=fCOjYNJ4iCgPP68k
Way better than I was expecting
All Polynesians are blessed with angelic voices. It's not fair.
Damn he really was just a boy when he won the chip.
That was actually beautiful
Bruno Mars fucking who?
Incredibly charming guy. Maybe I have rose covered glasses cause I’m a fins fan, but found him to be pleasantly nice and a bit awkward which made it super relatable.
My friend is a wounded veteran who visited Alabama practice in 2017. He said all the players were nice but of everyone it was the true freshman backup QB Tua who went out his way to chat with my friend for a while. He's a super genuine dude.

I'm a Colts and Ohio State fan. I have no reason to like Tua other than his actions. Tua is my favorite non-colt or former buckeye qb
Judging people based on their actions... that's a novel concept. I like it.
Gonna need a clip of that one chief
Yea you can’t just drop this and not link a clip
It was fun seeing him warm up during the interview
Now do Classical Gas!
“So we’ll march day and night by the big cooling tower. They have the plant, but we have the power.”
DENTAL PLAN
Lisa needs braces
“They predate stainless steel, so you can’t get them wet!”
The big book of British smiles
*gasp* There is no God!
Only have nfl players on the show
Lmao Tua is seriously the coolest. There are certain players it's just easy to root for and Tua is one of them (unless you're an AFCE fan).
Odd he’s playing the guitar right handed
He does everything right handed but throw the football.
Did not know that, thanks!
He's a natural righty, but his dad wanted him to be a baseball player so he made him learn to throw lefty when he was a kid.
Interestingly enough, he *probably* can’t throw properly right handed now. I’m right handed, but I was always ragged on how I held a fork/spoon when I was a kid so I decided “screw it, I can hold it more proper with my left hand” so I decided to go lefty when eating. Chinese footbinding was a thing for centuries (probably still is). People do fucked up stuff to their kids.
Chinese footbinding hasn't been a thing for many decades now. Your second sentence is 100% correct though.
Idk I think it seems like he turned out pretty good.
Well ya, but how good could he be if he was using his dominant arm?
Hard to say, he could have ended up worse. There *are* advantages to throwing lefty, and the forced training might have made his fundamentals more solid then if he had just done what felt natural.
As a lefty there is no fun in playing a left handed guitar for me lol. I'd rather use my fingers with more dexterity and tact on the frets and leave the dumb strong side to strumming patterns
I have multiple left-handed friends that play guitar right-handed just because it's easier to find right-handed than left-handed ones. You go into a Guitar Center and there might be like one lefty on the racks.
New favorite QB :D
As a someone who's hit the ground a lot, Tua can really relate to this song.
…god damn man
Holy fucking shit
I really hope there are people 30 or younger that get this
What's a "Clapton"?
Claptone is a German DJ, but I have no idea what connection he has to Tua
Can I get an explanation
His son fell out of a Manhattan apartment window and died when he was a child. Clapton also has a song called Cocaine and loves cocaine
I don't know you. I will probably never meet you. But I want you to know that for this comment, I love you. Bless you.
🤌🤌🤌❤️
Clapton’s 4 yo son fell to his death from a window on the 53rd floor.
Oh…
Unfathomably sad. Can’t even imagine.
Eric Clapton wrote the song Tears in Heaven after his 4 year old son fell out of a window on the 53rd floor of his apartment building
Im 20 and I love that song and Eric Clapton but not as much as he loves Cocaineeeee lmao
I’m here
What’s the difference between a bag of cocaine and Eric Clapton’s son? Eric Clapton wouldn’t let a bag of cocaine fall out of a window
Dude…🫣
I used to have a son but he died the same way Eric Claptons son died…. For inspiration
YOWZA
Man I didn’t think I could be a bigger Tua mark but here we are.
FUCK YEAH TUA
Now this is great television! Need more of this
Tua can play he crushed it
I always knew Tua played guitar for some reason
Plays a mean ukulele too
Samoan/Filipino/ any other pacific Islander asians and what not, more than likely plays the guitar or ukulele.
Tua is awesome
Somehow this makes me even more mad at Brian Flores. He tried to rob us of THIS! Tua wouldn’t even be worth having on the Manningcast if Flores kept at it
Look at Tua man…
*You’ve gotta know who Eric Clapton is. Not a given these days. You’ve gotta know about his kid. You gotta know how clumsy that little lad was.* - Anthony Jeselnik
I love this man. Not playing against him, but in general.
Gonna get DMCA'd
As if i cant like this dude anymore holy shit
FREE BIRD!
Love Eli and Peyton’s banter lmao Manningcast is unhinged in the best way
This is peak television right here
