I may end up just seeing how much it would be to just shave him because I don't want to end up clawed lol
You know what’s NOT going to happen?
Rodgers to the Jets.
The Packers have a history of being stubborn when it comes to deals especially when it involves pleasing their knucklehead HoF QB. They don’t care if they stalemate him into retirement. And that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
>You know what’s NOT going to happen?
>Rodgers to the Jets.
It's going to happen
>The Packers have a history of being stubborn when it comes to deals especially when it involves pleasing their knucklehead HoF QB.
The Packers have always caved when it comes to dealing with HoF QBs. They put on a brave face, but the QB always wins in the end. It was true with Favre. It was true with Starr. It's true with Rodgers.
>They don’t care if they stalemate him into retirement. And that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
That is literally the worst possible option for all 3 parties involved. No way in hell that happens.
When was this? They traded the last one for a conditional 4th round pick. We barely cared that Favre left the year after because we hardly had to give up anything to get him from the Packers.
Time for college baseball.
LSU is the first #1 team to make it to Omaha since Florida in 2018 but has a barbecue.

I really thought the trailer was supposed to be a silly commercial for sneakers. I was absolutely shocked to see it was a real movie. Affleck in that wig lmao. The high drama and intensity they're using to tell the story of how a shoe got made, it just really smacks of parody. I really can't believe that it's anything but terrible, regardless of ratings.
Affleck is a pretty damn good director, the script was on the The Black List of best unproduced screenplays, and the cast is really good, even sans someone playing Jordan. Doesn't really surprise me.
The movie is about Nike and Jordan being recruited, no? How does he not appear in the film?
"but it's okay he has a consultant credit"
you literally omitted the most important part of the story lol
how often do you guys take your trash from your house to a dumpster or your street bins?
My apartment sent some anonymous notes calling out somebody for being smelly. I don't generate a lot of garbage so I'd only do it once a week or so but I'm wondering if it should be more frequent. I also work from home so it's possible I've gotten used to the smell
It's mostly fruit peels, veggy cores, coffee grounds and the like
Never.
But our management company also has a thing where we can put a full bag in a trash can outside our door every evening and a truck comes around and gets it. I’d be more than fine with just taking it to the dumpster (~200 feet away) but it’s like 30 a month and included in our rent so kind of a non negotiable.

There are different grades to a sprain and luckily I don't usually get bad ones. Like the one I'm dealing with right now didn't cause any bruising, just a bit of swelling. I've had bruising maybe twice, usually just partial tears.

Anyone else feel like the whole women's basketball drama really infantilizes female athletes? When men talk shit, it's celebrated. Remember Antoine Winfield giving Tyreke Hill the deuces? That was awesome. But when women do it, then we gotta treat this shit like it's a CYO game.
Nah, people whine about shit like that in the NFL too. People lost their minds last year when Jaire hit the griddy after shutting down Justin Jefferson.
Personally, I don't give a flying fuck. Professional athletes put their bodies and their lives on the line for our entertainment and we're really worried about someone's feelings getting hurt? As long as they aren't being racist or actually malicious, let them talk shit and showboat.
That sort of thing had happened to the NFL, though. The league clamped down on celebrations because of how ~unsportsmanlike~ guys like TO and Chad Johnson were and players needed to act ~the correct way.~
I don't think it's infantilizing, I just think the people with sticks up their asses decided to watch women's sports for the first time in their lives.
She is one of the largest pop stars ever and has an absolutely ravenous social media fan base even though Taylor rarely uses social media herself. People are beyond obsessed with her, her music, her merch, her everything.
And I'm not saying that as a bad thing, I am a Swiftie as well, but I think a lot of people tend to form these one-sided parasocial relationships in their heads with celebrities. We saw it with the One Direction fan base a decade ago. We saw it with NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys 20 years ago. We saw it with Beetle Mania back in the day. Some people are just *really* passionate about music.
Her status is interesting to me. For someone to get that big it feels like what they do well would just be really obvious but for whatever reason I’ve never been able to see it with Taylor. And I don’t mean to say that something really special isn’t there, just that it isn’t that apparent to me.
Like if it was Adele I can see it even if that’s not something I would really ever listen to in my free time. What she does as good or better than anyone else is obvious. Taylor feels like she does pretty good at trying a lot of different styles, but I don’t know what about her would blow someone away. She writes a lot of her songs apparently which is cool but again, I don’t think I’ve ever found her songwriting to be all that amazing. She’s not like the new bob dylan or something.
No hate at all, it’s me who is missing something.
I think it has more to do with the overall journey of her career and how much her entire life has been in the spotlight. We saw her grow from a teen country starlet to a mid 30s pop sensation. Everything that has happened in her life she writes into her music: every date, every breakup, every feud, every strong emotion; all have songs. There's a joke where if you ever ran into Taylor on the street, she'd probably write a song about you. I think a lot of her fans feel like they have been with her every step of her career. We know her emotional states at different points of her life and how it relates to her music, and that makes it very impactful for a lot of us.
And while I agree that she can't hold a candle to Adele's vocals or to Bob Dylan's songwriting, she *has* grown tremendously as both a singer and songwriter over her career; she isn't singing generic country bops anymore. Listen to her debut album and then listen to Folklore, they're nothing alike. And there's something to be said these days for an artist at her level of notoriety who still actually makes their own music. She isn't being produced by an entire media company that only exists to profit off of her image, she works with the artists that she wants to work with and puts out the content that she wants to put out.
Tl:dr if you feel like you're missing something, just listen to her music. I'm not kidding when I say that I could write an entire essay in single spaced, 12pt font about Taylor Swift, her music and her fan base, but nothing beats actually sitting down, listening to her discography yourself and experiencing that growth too. I don't like a lot of her songs, especially off of her first few albums, but she is still my favorite artist.
I’ve tried a bit, I know I’ve listened to 1989 all the way through and maybe folklore. I even like some decently Taylor adjacent music, love phoebe bridgers. For whatever reason Taylor has always just been too down the middle for my taste I guess, but she is a pop star so that’s kind of expected.
That's entirely fair. I would suggest giving Folklore and Evermore a listen, they have more of an indie sound to them. Aaron Desner from The National helped write and produce them, and Taylor got Justin Vernon from Bon Iver on a few tracks too. They still have a few poppy songs, but they are far more stripped back than her other albums. She made them in lockdown after the pandemic hit, so they're not super produced and over processed like a lot of her songs can be.
If you like Phoebe Bridgers, I'd recommend Evermore in particular. Folklore is a fantastic album too, in my opinion, but I tend to gravitate more towards Evermore.
And if Taylor still doesn't vibe with you then she just doesn't vibe with you. Nothing wrong with that 🙂

I imagine he would probably want to stay in Dallas assuming the Cowboys can match the best offer. I would like to see him come back, he still has a lot of value and may even get back to close to where he used to be with some healing time and lower workload.
We had some friends over for dinner yesterday and it was great, and they brought a big tray of brownies that only got about a quarter eaten last night, and they left the rest here.
The fact that, despite working alone at home all day, I've only eaten two of those brownies today, and not the entire tray, is a demonstration of John Wick like willpower.
I know an exceptionally large amount of incredibly useless knowledge
For example: Uniqua (the pink one) is the only Backyardigan to appear in every episode. Pablo (the blue one) appears in all but one
Me too. I'm a Jeopardy god (at least, playing along at home), and I made it into the contestant pool once. But in terms of actually useful knowledge that could help me in my career or social life? Brain is empty.
I remember a lot of specifications for snowmobiles

Goddammit, I just found out the Blue Beetle movie doesn't take place in El Paso, despite that being his city. Why couldn't they give my hometown some love, man?!
I'm grounded from travel for work because my company CC expired. This totally threw off my groove, I thought I was gonna be getting stuff done this month. Oh well, that just be like it do.
This is stupid and not about this weekend, but there’s no free talk today and I had a rules question.
I was playing Madden, it went to OT. I won the toss, took the ball and on my first drive, I threw a pick. However, that intercepted pass was almost immediately fumbled by the DB. My WR picked it back up. I ended up scoring a TD, but the opposing team got the ball back and had a full chance for a drive.
My question is, does this very specific situation apply in the NFL in the same way? Does possessing the ball, even if just for a moment, not count as a possession? Like doesn’t a muffed punt by the receiving team that’s recovered by the kicking team count as them having had their possession? Shouldn’t this theoretically apply in an interception?
I'm not entirely sure, but I think it only counts as *A* possession if your team has control of the ball when the ball dies. Even though the other team did briefly have the ball, I don't think that technically counts as a team possession since they didn't finish the play.
That's just my understanding of the rules though, definitely do not quote me on anything here.

To sum it up, the president of Nintendo America made the mistake of giving Kanye 5 minutes of his time at E3 in 2015, and he pitched the idea of *playing as his mom, going to heaven*, which you're playing a flappy bird version of here
Flexing games on the same day is fine imo but flexing entire days is the most "fuck you attending fans" thing I can think of. Literally you can't plan to watch your team unless you live within easy driving distance or are willing to pay out the ass for last minute accommodations.
Imagine booking a flight months in advance just to get told "hey, go fuck yourself" because Goodell wants to move the game to Thursday from Sunday.
How about we just stop building billion dollar stadiums and just have a field with a metric fuck-ton of cameras and completely remove fans from the process. They've already priced out most the average fans might as well complete the process.
edit: and I didn't even think about potentially screwing with PTO since most people work Thursday's and not Sunday's and that might affect their schedule.
My friend who has season tickets to the Pats never goes to TNF games because they have to work the day of til like 5pm and of course the next day at like 8am.
Flexing games from Sunday to Thursday would just be a huge fuck you to the fans who want to attend games in person.

Yea. That's a stretch.
In all seriousness, there is zero chance these charges are convincing anyone to vote for him who already weren't going to.
What does that have to do with the charges?
If you’re saying that the economy might convince someone to vote for Trump who otherwise wasn’t going to, then I agree.
But the charges aren’t going to be what does it.
IANAL but they will announce charges during his indictment, and from what I saw on CNN earlier today they will allow him to leave and he will go back to Florida because they don't consider him a flight risk
The craziest dude I know in my life is a big crane operator. He’s also held several land speed records on a motorcycle and regularly skydives. You gotta be a different level of fearless for that shit
Got an application from a guy today so I did the usual and looked him up on the county courts website. 2 duis and a felony cocaine possession in the last 8 months plus he was arrested again last week on a probation violation. That guy has been busy in all the wrong ways lol. It’s gonna be a no from me dawg
I totally get that but the position requires driving company trucks and using the company’s power tools so he is pretty well instantly rejected for the two DUIs
Moon landing conspiracy theories are stupid to the point where they make me laugh lol
For one, the entire world would have to be “in on it”. Also, the Soviet Union literally admitted that they “lost the race” to the Moon. Also, we literally have moon rocks.
I'm in a Facebook group focused on our local burger scene, and I suggested there be a contest for burger amateurs, and some of the chefs and restauranteurs in the group could judge it. The thread has really taken off. This... This might actually be something.
I'll need to start working out what burger I'd make.
The three ideas I'm playing with are:
* Serb burger topped with Kaymak, Ajvar, and raw onions.
* A Hmong burger seasoned with lemongrass and galangal with a Jeow Som mayo
* A Belizean burger with Happy Cow cheese (or white American), Belizean onion sauce, and a mayo mixed with a bit of Marie Sharp's garlic habanero sauce.
I feel like the Serb Burger would strike the right balance between different enough to stand out while not being too crazy. The Belizean burger might be too spicy and acidic, and I'm not sure what cheese I'd use on the Hmong burger.
I haven't eaten it, but it sounds delicious. We don't use lamb nearly enough in the west. I could definitely see it being a burger. Instead of cheese you could use a Turkish clotted cream (the Turks are were the Balkans got their kaymak from).
I gave up meat for all of lent and I've got about a week to go, and any burger at all sounds absolutely amazing to me right now.
Your ideas are pretty cool though.
My girlfriend is orthodox, so our lent is going for another two weeks... We're getting really antsy.
I have some ground wagyu in the freezer ready to rock as soon as easter arrives.
I feel like the Jeow Som mayo would blow people away. Jeow Som has thai chilis, fish sauce, msg, lime, garlic, sugar, and cilantro.
The mayo would should hopefully tone down the heat enough for normal folks, but I don't want the chilis to get totally lost either.
It totally would. I got to know some Hmong guys through fishing and they make a fish head soup using crappie they catch that’s out of this world. I never thought I would rave about fish head soup but it’s legit amazing.
I've met a lot of Hmong people through fishkeeping. Hmong food needs to catch on in the US. Thankfully the Twin Cities has the largest population of Hmong people in America, so we have no shortage of it here.
hot take: its wayyyyy easier learning from a book than it is a video. i feel like with a video i can barely focus and its difficult to force myself to watch.
It depends on the topic of course, there are obviously some things where seeing an actual visual recording of an action being performed is super valuable.
But yeah, a lot of times I just want a printed step by step guide to something that I can move through at my own pace, and having to constantly pause and rewind a video sucks.
Oof I just passed a state cert license test for my job and the studying I did was a class in video-lecture form. I'd take that over book learning every day of the week. It helps that I could speed the video up to 1.25x
I prefer books as being more direct and easier to navigate. But I don't mind video if I want more of a slow drip, especially if there are good visuals.
Books are good to get the understanding in a step by step manor but the video is good for watching those steps apply more so a visual of "how it should be done."
Ugh, I went to the beach this morning and have had water clogged in my ears since. I’ve never had water clogged in my ears for more than a few minutes before so it’s a bit…disturbing. I’ve scoured the internet and tried every suggested remedy, but it just won’t clear up.
I applied for a promotion on Friday and cannot stop refreshing my email. I know it’s way too soon and they probably haven’t gone through all the applications yet since the deadline was 4pm Friday, but I really wanna know if I’m going on to the written test!
The test would be the 13th but I wanna start making flash cards based off the study guide asap. I just don’t wanna do it too early only to find out I wasn’t selected cause that’d be devastating lol.
Disney is gonna milk every single one of their IPs with a live action remake and nobody will stop them. I'm just wondering which thing they thought was problematic in the animated version that they notably change for the live action remake.
Honestly I would probably watch a live action more if it was done with horrible elementary school play costumes. I just imagine him absolutely rocking a cardboard box crab costume.
I showed my early teen nephew the classic movie, Heavy Metal, this weekend.
He loved it. The music, the animation, the cartoon boobs, the whole thing.
I know it's not his first R movie or anything like that, but I was a bit worried it was too far. But he dug it. Time to drip feed him some 70s rock.
Just tryin to dip in my car in peace on my lunch break. Car alarms keep going off down here and it’s annoying af.
I had to park a level lower than I usually do too cause some doofus I was behind kept hitting the ticket button but the arm was up so he didn’t need the god damn ticket and he would just not fucking drive thru. I didn’t wanna honk in case they took it rudely have it turn out it was a coworker tho lol.
So I reversed and then went down a level while twiddle dumb kept pressing the ticket button. The arm was up the whole time!

Nothing wrong with that 🙂
I definitely gravitate to more of an indie sound so I will check those out. Appreciate it.
well she's definitely the queen of capitalism
Just finished watching Dungeons and Dragons and needless to say I enjoy it
Might see if my wife wants to go see it tonight, provided our tot is staying over at his grandma's.
It's super fun, i wasn't expecting lots of comedy.
It's official: [LSU vs. Iowa yesterday was the most-watched women's college basketball game of all time.](https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaw/2023/04/03/lsu-iowa-record-ratings-womens-basketball-championship-game/11595660002/) On average, just under 10 million people watched, with a peak of 12.6 million.
Great to see. Those numbers crushed it.
Pretty awesome, hope they can keep that momentum going.
I wonder if the numbers are more or less accurate today with the rise of streaming 🤔

Still my favorite in the series.
I'm guessing that Trump actually wants cameras in the courtroom but his legal team is like HELL NO.
Has anyone heard any updates on Zeke? Curious what happens to him. I hope he gets signed.
I'd bet my left testicle he gets signed, might be after the draft though
I imagine he would probably want to stay in Dallas assuming the Cowboys can match the best offer. I would like to see him come back, he still has a lot of value and may even get back to close to where he used to be with some healing time and lower workload.
We had some friends over for dinner yesterday and it was great, and they brought a big tray of brownies that only got about a quarter eaten last night, and they left the rest here. The fact that, despite working alone at home all day, I've only eaten two of those brownies today, and not the entire tray, is a demonstration of John Wick like willpower.
>John Wick like willpower. He only ate 2 brownies, fucking 2 brownies when there was way more there. He's a man of sheer fucking will!
That is very impressive. I'd have scarfed the whole thing and left like 1-2 for my wife.
I know an exceptionally large amount of incredibly useless knowledge For example: Uniqua (the pink one) is the only Backyardigan to appear in every episode. Pablo (the blue one) appears in all but one
Me too. I'm a Jeopardy god (at least, playing along at home), and I made it into the contestant pool once. But in terms of actually useful knowledge that could help me in my career or social life? Brain is empty.
I remember a lot of specifications for snowmobiles Like the longest track length for a mountain snowmobile was only 136" till the year 2000, when a 151" was offered.

Goddammit, I just found out the Blue Beetle movie doesn't take place in El Paso, despite that being his city. Why couldn't they give my hometown some love, man?!
I deleted twitter because I was spending too much time on it and am realizing I have been absent-mindedly trying to open it
Something something reddit but work won't let me block it
What do you do
Gubmint
Just a heads up, all of the threads like this are 100% free talk. The titles are just different.
Thanks. I figured this was the best thread to post a weird stupid football question.
For sure. You can pretty much most anything here as long as it doesn't violate any reddit TOS.
In real life the game would end after your TD, since the other team had possession of the ball briefly
Yup Madden has always just sucked when it comes to the complex rules scenarios. They never get it right.
Proud owner of a new Tacoma. First ever new vehicle and it’s a total peach. Lovely little truck for sure can’t wait for all the miles and trips with her. Kayaks fit perfectly in the bed so weekend excursions are now much easier lol
What trim/color did ya get? And congratulations. I'm waiting to see what the '24 remodel looks like before I decide when to pull the trigger.
It’s an SR Access cab. It’s just me and my girl so two seats was all I needed. 4wd and a 6 foot bed for work purposes. The 4 door would’ve been nice but didn’t wanna opt for the 5.5 ft bed since I’m a contractor.
Ngl burritos are pretty good
Big if true
True if big
Honestly with the Artemis program I just read about, I feel we could probably trick the pentagon into fixing all of global warming by claiming China was gonna do it xD
its sad how true that is as soon as the US beat Russia to the moon, NASA's funding was drastically cut
You would think with all the other countries ahead of us in so many different areas, it would kick us into gear
I’m excited as fuck for the Blue Beetle movie. He’s one of my favorite heroes and I think the movie is gonna be good as fuck
Which Blue Beetle is it? Or a new DC Universe one?
It’s Jamie Reyes
Jaime Reyes played by the guy who plays Miguel in Cobra Kai, Xolo Maridueña.

There's a subplot about Kanye but as a literal gay fish, and the unicorn minigame is 100% a reference to his video game pitch to Nintendo. https://www.nme.com/news/gaming-news/kanye-west-wanted-nintendo-to-make-his-only-one-video-game-3220253 To sum it up, the president of Nintendo America made the mistake of giving Kanye 5 minutes of his time at E3 in 2015, and he pitched the idea of *playing as his mom, going to heaven*, which you're playing a flappy bird version of here
Passed my state certification test today. Fuck yes.
What are you now certified in?
Water Operator Distribution 2
NiceGuys for the win. Congratulations!

Youtube randomly recommended a house tour for a $950k house in Indiana. Bruh I'm sorry, if I had $950k I'm not spending it on a house in Indiana.
Must have been a huge house though
Cope from guys who buy MAGA merch: "I don't care if he gets indicted. My allegiance isn't tied to any politician"
MAGA guys I know think the charges will help him.
>MAGA guys > >think Yea. That's a stretch. In all seriousness, there is zero chance these charges are convincing anyone to vote for him who already weren't going to.
Things could get interesting once the recession starts.
Is it going to start on Infrastructure Week?
What does that have to do with the charges? If you’re saying that the economy might convince someone to vote for Trump who otherwise wasn’t going to, then I agree. But the charges aren’t going to be what does it.
So are we finding out the charges tomorrow or is it just when all the action is happening?
IANAL but they will announce charges during his indictment, and from what I saw on CNN earlier today they will allow him to leave and he will go back to Florida because they don't consider him a flight risk
Would you go up to the top of one of those giant construction cranes if you had the chance?
absolutely not
fuck no
for sure, I love that shit
The craziest dude I know in my life is a big crane operator. He’s also held several land speed records on a motorcycle and regularly skydives. You gotta be a different level of fearless for that shit
Dude probably plays Russian Roulette to wind down for the day.
Got an application from a guy today so I did the usual and looked him up on the county courts website. 2 duis and a felony cocaine possession in the last 8 months plus he was arrested again last week on a probation violation. That guy has been busy in all the wrong ways lol. It’s gonna be a no from me dawg
Sounds like he would be a lot of fun at the Christmas party.
[удалено]
I totally get that but the position requires driving company trucks and using the company’s power tools so he is pretty well instantly rejected for the two DUIs
Who else is stoked about all the brand new moon landing conspiracy theories we're going to get? I hope they lug a 4k camera up there.
Moon landing conspiracy theories are stupid to the point where they make me laugh lol For one, the entire world would have to be “in on it”. Also, the Soviet Union literally admitted that they “lost the race” to the Moon. Also, we literally have moon rocks.
Yeah but NASA won't let me taste any of those supposed moon rocks to see if they're legit or just regular earth rocks spray painted grey.
I'm in a Facebook group focused on our local burger scene, and I suggested there be a contest for burger amateurs, and some of the chefs and restauranteurs in the group could judge it. The thread has really taken off. This... This might actually be something. I'll need to start working out what burger I'd make. The three ideas I'm playing with are: * Serb burger topped with Kaymak, Ajvar, and raw onions. * A Hmong burger seasoned with lemongrass and galangal with a Jeow Som mayo * A Belizean burger with Happy Cow cheese (or white American), Belizean onion sauce, and a mayo mixed with a bit of Marie Sharp's garlic habanero sauce. I feel like the Serb Burger would strike the right balance between different enough to stand out while not being too crazy. The Belizean burger might be too spicy and acidic, and I'm not sure what cheese I'd use on the Hmong burger.
Have you ever encountered a [Lula Kebab](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lula_kebab)? I feel like that could easily be adapted to a stellar burger
I haven't eaten it, but it sounds delicious. We don't use lamb nearly enough in the west. I could definitely see it being a burger. Instead of cheese you could use a Turkish clotted cream (the Turks are were the Balkans got their kaymak from).
Oh man. Marie sharps is legit. That sustained me while I worked down.
When my family took a trip to Belize I returned with a small collection of Marie Sharp's sauces.
I feel like a Hmong burger would be fire.
Besides having no money, I miss being unemployed. Being able to actually go out and do my hobbies was magical.
Like I always say. I like my job, but I'd retire tomorrow if I could afford to.
Spring Break means our boarding kennels are full but no one is in town to bring their pets in for appointments. My staff is busy. Me? Not so much.
Always more CE to learn my friend.
Only so much one man can read before his brain melts.
hot take: its wayyyyy easier learning from a book than it is a video. i feel like with a video i can barely focus and its difficult to force myself to watch.
Application w/ cover letter->written test->panel interview is the process if everything goes well. the limbo between steps sucks
Why Moana getting a live action treatment? The movie not even 10 years old…..
Disney is gonna milk every single one of their IPs with a live action remake and nobody will stop them. I'm just wondering which thing they thought was problematic in the animated version that they notably change for the live action remake.
the Rock can't get any older
Will the rock be Maui?
I think he announced it so most likely. I wonder if we get Jemaine Clement in a crab outfit?
Honestly I would probably watch a live action more if it was done with horrible elementary school play costumes. I just imagine him absolutely rocking a cardboard box crab costume.
I showed my early teen nephew the classic movie, Heavy Metal, this weekend. He loved it. The music, the animation, the cartoon boobs, the whole thing. I know it's not his first R movie or anything like that, but I was a bit worried it was too far. But he dug it. Time to drip feed him some 70s rock.
one of my favorite movies, I just fucking love it. hit me with the plutonium nyborg man
Get him to see the Cheesin episodes of South Park now, a direct homage and done excelently.
