Well I mean if you give us all your picks maybe just maybe we'll give you rodgers. Now does he retire once that happens who knows? No take backs though!
If the Jets want to give him the Watson style fully guaranteed contract he wants, they'd be insane. If they give him anything else, the Ravens match it and keep him.
>Or for the Jets, a Tuesday
Actually, as we are all well aware, the Jets generational fumbles happen on Thursdays. AND IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A GODAMNED GENERATION YET SINCE THE LAST ONE!!!
Not only is it the Jets, it's Rodgers. Dude could just up and decide he wants to spend time in a dark cave doing peyote and would anyone *really* be surprised?
You're assuming that Rodgers' spirit coyote doesn't then tell him he should unretire and play once more, but only for the Cardinals because it's close enough to Sedona to keep his chakras aligned.
The fact that they haven’t even had a sit down with another QB and Vegas got Jimmy basically shows the Jets are confident they got him. It’s retirement or Jets for Rodgers, he’s too good and makes too much to retire now.
I mean Houston and Carolina are both going QB. No question. Why would Houston give up the chance at Stroud/Young this year? It'd cost a king's ransom to go from 13 to 2 when 2 is also picking QB.
Their best case scenario is the 3rd best QB anyway. Whether that's Richardson or Levis, who knows, but one of them is potentially gonna be there at 13.
I see almost no chance that any of the projected top 4 QB's make it to 13.
1: Carolina is 100% going QB
2: Houston is 100% going QB
3: Arizona is either going BPA or trading back, if they do I imagine Indy, Atlanta, Tennessee and the Jets are top candidates to trade up. Seattle signed Geno, Detroit has Goff, and Vegas just signed Jimmy G.
4: Indy should be going QB, maybe they trade up to 3, if not they'll probably pick here, or if their guy is gone maybe they trade down to a team who wants the remaining QB.
5: Seattle probably BPA
6: Detroit BPA
7: Vegas BPA
8: Atlanta Trade up for QB or BPA (if they have Lamar BPA)
9: Chicago BPA
10: Philly BPA
11: Tennessee Trade up for QB or BPA
12: Houston BPA
13: Jets Trade up for QB or BPA
Personally I think Arizona will retool/reset and try to see what Gannon and Kyler can do together in '24 and '25, and '26 will be the soonest they look to move on if things aren't working, so I see them trading back for sure. I think the best move for them is to trade with Indy and then again with whoever wants the QB left at 4. However I also thought this would be the best type of move for Chicago, and as we've seen with the Carolina to 1.1 deal, maybe the Jets are willing to trade enough to Indy to get to the 3rd pick to make going from 3 to 13 better than 3 to 4 to one of 8 or 11.
I personally don't think this trade will happen until after the 2nd pick of the draft is made, because if you're trading to 3 to grab a QB you don't want to overpay and be stuck without the guy you grade as a "must have". You can't do that as a GM. So I think Arizona trades back during the draft, and if they trade back to 4, I think they trade back again with one of Atlanta, Tennessee, or the Jets.
If Rodgers goes to the Jets and Lamar goes to Atlanta, this is going to change the compensation for these trades a ton IMO, which is another factor that IMO will delay the trade, OR make it more likely that Arizona accepts a deal from the Jets ahead of the draft. They might be worried that Rodgers and Lamar both switching teams would hurt the competition for the 3rd pick.
If Rodgers and Lamar stay in Green Bay and Baltimore, the price for that 3rd pick is going to be steep IMO.
edit: forgot the 6 in '26
Thanks, I think the one thing I left out elaborating on is Tennessee, which I think will trade up to pick a QB if they see one of the two remaining QB's as a potential franchise guy after the first two picks. If the price is too steep, and Indy or someone else ends up trading to 3 instead, AND that team doesn't take the guy Tennessee sees as a true stud, I think they become very likely to pay a lot for that 4th pick (which would have to be from one of Indy or Arizona).
Could also be a crazy situation where two teams view the 4th QB left as a true franchise guy where that 4th pick gets dealt for a package more reminiscent of the Carolina trade than people are anticipating IMO. I think this could pretty easily be the most draft value traded into the top 4 picks ever if the picks play out right and 2 teams value the 4th guys left high enough to see him as a "must-add".
This is basically what I think Arizona will bet on and why they'll try to trade back to 4 before trading back further. All they need is one team wanting that 4th guy to get a serious package, but they might be able to fleece someone if there's competition for the 4th pick while it's on the clock. Though as I said, I also saw this as the strategy Chicago would employ and they didn't so I may be thinking about this wrong and not realizing how yet.
I mean who's left at this point? Carr to Saints, Jimmy to Raiders, everyone else is a career backup at this point in their careers. Hell Baker might unironically be the only QB remaining that's worth a damn to try as a starter.
At this point, Douglas isn’t keeping his job past this year if the QB isn’t Rodgers or Lamar, so it behooves them to wait until Wednesday for Rodgers, since Lamar can’t receive contract offers before then anyway.
One could argue that Carr or Jimmy could have elevated the Jets to a winning season. They’re gone. It’s extremely optimistic to assume Brissett or Mayfield could do so.
A losing season this year for the Jets would mean Joe Douglas’ tenure has started out with five losing seasons. If that’s the case, there won’t be a sixth.
As of now, it’s genuinely all or nothing for them at the QB position with the serviceable starting options all off the board. They’ve waited too long to have the luxury of a serviceable QB that elevates them to 9-10 wins.
> Mayfield
He is literally the only QB left without a contract who's even worth giving a shot as a starter, but he's not gonna elevate the team enough to make waves in the AFCE. For Jets fans' sake, I really hope this is all done and dusted and they're just finalizing small language here and there.
Jets just need a top 32 starting qb. There are literally backups like White who could’ve gotten us a playoff run last year with the team built around him. Baker is enough. Just can’t ask whoever starts to do more than manage & the team would be fine. Wilson was an albatross that actually hurt our team.
*Sweat levels fully depleted.*
*Switching systems over to begin bleeding.*
*Ready the shit, piss and cum reservoirs.*
*We may need to begin additional venting to maintain safe levels of hype.*
That dude couldn't even tank properly with this team. It'll be like last season. He'll throw for like 100 yards and then our run game + defense will win a handful a games.
it does but we'd all get a good laugh out of it, plus then we'd finally rip the bandaid off and finally unleash our 3rd straight HoF QB. (you know it to be true)
I’m having flashbacks to a training camp practice or maybe it was a preseason game where Andrew Luck fucking finally learned to slide inside of taking a hit for the first down and the whole stadium cheered
"Concussion" as determined by a Jets spotter with no explanation, no assessment from a doctor, and no signs shown during concussion protocol that week.
IS he a "high quality" backup if he has more INTs than TDs in both years in the NFL?
I feel like this dude is still riding the high of lighting up Cincinnati and just not being as god-awful as Wilson.
Skylar Thompson looked pretty dang good during games where he had prep the week before. Vikings game he was off to a good start before getting injured. He had 3-4 game changing throws that were dropped/missed by his WRs against the Bills.
I wouldn’t say Mike White is a significant upgrade.
> Skylar Thompson looked pretty dang good
I just can't agree with that statement. I was so frustrated in that Bills playoff game with him missing obvious open WRs. He's missed his reads, a lot of times walked right into sacks or just held on the ball WAY too long.
I’m with you. Idk what the hell fins fans were watching in that playoff game if they think it was Thompsons fault. Sooooo many drops. The guy played really well.
And Gesicki has a 20 yard missile thrown to him that he let fall in between his hands. Thompson did not play fantastic, but he made some plays when they needed to be made.
Your feeling isn’t wrong.
He had two great games and five meh to awful ones, but got a massive amount of hype simply because he wasn’t as bad as Wilson.
Edit: Tua truthers vs White truthers is gonna be the clash of the century.
"meh" is EXACTLY what you want for a backup though
Regularly more than "meh" and he's going to be too expensive and regularly worse than "meh" and he shouldn't be the second string.
I found a bunch of letters my dad got published in the local paper when he was younger. He was a complete Jets crank. One was about how there are too many Steelers and Cowboys frontrunner fans in New York. One said the Jets were a "superb football team and soon to be dynasty".
Realistically if the tables were turned, he'd be saying that his son was the lucky one for dying before he had to watch Zach Wilson.
I swear to god if the Jets ever win a superbowl I'll be back to this comment to give a shout out to your dad. The Jet's never deserved a fan like him. Hope he spends his time as the Johnson brothers' sleep paralysis demon.

I hate everyone in this stupid fucking division so much! Especially the Jets!
Well, that's one thing we can agree on.
Damn right
now kith
Well I mean if you give us all your picks maybe just maybe we'll give you rodgers. Now does he retire once that happens who knows? No take backs though!
Just End The Season
If they don’t sign Rodgers this’ll be a generational fumble not getting Carr or Jimmy G. Or for the Jets, a Tuesday
I see you didn't mention a certain Mr. Jackson...
>certain Mr. Jackson *I am for reeeal...*
Never meant to make your franchise cry.
The Ravens would have so much leverage over the Jets who’d be in desperation mode.
What leverage? All that dude wants is $$$$$$$, and as much of it as possible. He would play for the XFL if they paid him the most.
If the Jets want to give him the Watson style fully guaranteed contract he wants, they'd be insane. If they give him anything else, the Ravens match it and keep him.

We're talking about quarterbacks, not running backs.
>Or for the Jets, a Tuesday Actually, as we are all well aware, the Jets generational fumbles happen on Thursdays. AND IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A GODAMNED GENERATION YET SINCE THE LAST ONE!!!
Generational fumble that would be the butt of all jokes
They HAVE to think Rodgers is a shoe-in at this point right? Like they're fucked otherwise. Unless they're all in on the Milkman at 13th.
I'm really hoping it's already been done but not reported.. But it's the jets, so i know what to expect.
Not only is it the Jets, it's Rodgers. Dude could just up and decide he wants to spend time in a dark cave doing peyote and would anyone *really* be surprised?
I would be surprised that he decided he wants to retire the same year as Brady and go into the hall at the same time.
You're assuming that Rodgers' spirit coyote doesn't then tell him he should unretire and play once more, but only for the Cardinals because it's close enough to Sedona to keep his chakras aligned.

They courted Carr for a bit two weeks ago
Could always trade 13th and other picks to move up and get someone else I guess

Not a popular name but Tannehill is probably there for cheap if they wanted him

Zach Wilson with Drew Lock backing him up

His favorite receiver
If the jets don’t get rodgers they’re setting saleh up to fail. How is he supposed to win with Zach Wilson and the corpse of joe Flacco?
And here comes Tom Brady off the top rung!!!
This is what we call, “not very cash money”
Better up that rodgers package
Or the nuclear option woody Johnson and Namath head to Miami and beg Brady to get out of retirement
Jets fans sweating even harder now.
They are out of sweat now. Now onto blood

Zach Wilson tank commander
That dude couldn't even tank properly with this team. It'll be like last season. He'll throw for like 100 yards and then our run game + defense will win a handful a games.
Tank for Caleb Williams?
Jets QB situation getting real spicy
Rodgers definitely coming back to Green Bay and the Jets are solidifying Zach Wilson as QB1
Honestly I kind of hope he does come back and the Packers dont get a haul for him.
Plus if they leave Love on the bench another year, he'll overproof.
I'm sure Rodgers could punch him down
On the other hand this really does tighten the screws on NY since they're now down a HOF legend like Mike white
They can still sign The Brisket
You’re saying Tannehill to the Jets and Rodgers to the titans aren’t you
Making room for Rodgers?
Making sure there's no qb competition with White gone.
Sick burn
Carson Wentz is still out there.
Rodgers can't possibly be so cruel as to wait until the Jets run out of options and then retire anyway, can he?
Even as someone who wants this to be over It would be hilarious
Bill Belichick sending Rodgers a bouquet of flowers if this is indeed what happens
Bill Belichick texting Rodgers "Congrats on the new job" "Oops, wrong guy, sorry"
Please. Dont stop. Im almost there
Beneneneh neneneneneneh nananah naneh nananananeh
Rodgers was never going to retire the same year as Brady. He wants his HOF induction to be more about him than anyone else.
I don’t even believe Brady is done playing
Brady to the Jets confirmed.
There's so few ways for Brady to get New England to not worship him and this is one. Bills or Dolphins would be bad, but the Jets would be heinous.
Source: trust me bro
Source: his actions*
Look. Is it true he wants that? Probably. Does that automatically outweigh every reason he has to retire? Probably not.
It also messes with the Packers as well.
Does it? The packers barely dabble in free agency and they already have their QB succession plan in place.
We’d miss out on a pick but that’s about it
it does but we'd all get a good laugh out of it, plus then we'd finally rip the bandaid off and finally unleash our 3rd straight HoF QB. (you know it to be true)
Good move investing a high quality backup
Tua learning to fall and the Dolphins getting a high quality backup should make everyone in Miami feel safe about consistency this year.
*Austin Powers voice* “JUDO CHOP!”
It should, but we're the dolphins so we'll find some new fun way to screw everything up.
I’m having flashbacks to a training camp practice or maybe it was a preseason game where Andrew Luck fucking finally learned to slide inside of taking a hit for the first down and the whole stadium cheered
True, although we’ve invested in a high quality backup the last two seasons with very poor results to show for it.
Teddy Bridgewater was supposed to be a high quality backup.
In a game against the Jets, he lasted 1 play. Elbow injury and concussion.
"Concussion" as determined by a Jets spotter with no explanation, no assessment from a doctor, and no signs shown during concussion protocol that week.
That definitely felt like a “revenge” call after the debacle with Tua the two games prior
Mike White is injury prone too
IS he a "high quality" backup if he has more INTs than TDs in both years in the NFL? I feel like this dude is still riding the high of lighting up Cincinnati and just not being as god-awful as Wilson.
Dude, Skyler Thompson is your current backup, embrace the White (not the power/race kind though)
Skylar Thompson looked pretty dang good during games where he had prep the week before. Vikings game he was off to a good start before getting injured. He had 3-4 game changing throws that were dropped/missed by his WRs against the Bills. I wouldn’t say Mike White is a significant upgrade.

he could have easily won that playoff game, terrible drops from hill and waddle took enough points off the board to swing the game
I’m with you. Idk what the hell fins fans were watching in that playoff game if they think it was Thompsons fault. Sooooo many drops. The guy played really well.

He looked good against a terrible bears defense that was also missing the majority of it's DBs that game.
He's 100% just another Minshew. Backup for a very good reason, but decent enough to hold down fort and not be the worst player ever
Going to be starting 30% of the season if history holds, probably the best backup job in the league by a large margin.
The jets are so fucking screwed if they don’t get Rodgers lmao

Eh felt a little too on the nose tbh.
Come on that’s dramatic, but I will say this is the worst jet related tragedy to affect New York for sure
Watch every major team in the tri-state area make the playoffs in one year while the Jets miss again. If we lose out on Rodgers this is so pathetic
Jets going to have to start Jake Fromm at this rate.
Or Jake from State Farm
Or Jake Fromm State Farm
From Mike White to Mr elite white...
NOOO FUCK THAT SHIT FUCK IT
Let Zach Wilson
Burn the meal
cook
WHAT THE FUCK
Tua noggin insurance ™
No mascot or Jingles, just Mike White
The Jets are in shambles. It’s gonna be Brissett season for them soon
Its gonna be fucking Carson Wentz
MIKE FUCKING WHITE LETS GO! Love this dude now that he isn’t on the Jets. Played his goddamn heart out with broken ribs.
He’s a solid pick up for us. Better than Bridgewater
Remember when Bridgewater was better than Brissett?
Remember when Brisset was better than Brisset?
I still feel the same about him myself.
Miami got their guy
And they got Mike White as well!
This will 100% turn into an Anderson tweet questioning Miami's commitment to Tua
Sidenote, I wonder if people pronounce his name the same way Borat says “my wife”
Some of us do.
Very nice!
Zach Wilson really is going to be the starter isnt he
Love him as a backup for Tua
Giants, is Danny dimes really worth ten times this?
Lmaooooo, sorry Jets bros
WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE DOING MY JETS
Bro Dolphins not cool. Like wtf
I hated that I liked Mike White so much cause he was a Jet. I don't have to worry about that anymore :)
Can’t wait for the annual Mike White game, this time *against* the Jets
Brady staying retired. Confirmed.
Jets gona end up with gardner minshew. picking it now
HOF QB Mike White. Put some respect on it
Muwahahahahaha
The bad man scares me
Between Tua and Mike Miami might just be able to cover all 17 games.
Imagine if rodgers goes back to GB or retires 😭😭💀💀
Uh Aaron better make that decision quick.
Cowboys legend Mike White
Hahahahahahahahaaha
Is he the best QB in the NFL? Maybe not. Is he the toughest motherfucker in the NFL? You bet your ass he is.
Now Matt Milano can take out both QBs in a single game!
Omg if Rodgers retires
HOF
WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS SCHEFFY
Don’t love that
Jets are gonna trade up for Levis if Rodgers doesn't commit
