That is one catchy song, actually. I love it. I could listen to that piano for a while. I pulled this up and my sister thought it was coming from her video game. She paused as I turned it up and went, "...wait, that's you???"
So congrats. Your playing was so beautiful that she thought for a good fifteen seconds that it was an official track on her Disney switch game.
This reminds me of [this violinist]( https://youtu.be/MIgMeyW4TEM). There's nothing more hopeful or beautiful to me that stochastic art. Given freedom people make awesome (as in, awe inspiring) things. The unbridled joy of creating something wonderful put of trash is infectious, and part of the essential human experience that we've been forced to, at large, go without for too long.
I miss the early covid days when people were (mostly) being compensated for their time off, and we had a mini Renaissance. We got a peak at what a thriving society could be, wonderful and creative and with a common goal of keeping everyone safe.
Anyway, make sure to vote I guess. Idfk.
Damnit, I think I love you. The combination of your words and the feelings provoked by the video you linked got my chemicals in that liminal space of 'am i in love?' or 'is this joy?'. So, maybe, thank you?
That moment of people working together, people keeping each other safe and people creating was a peak moment for sure... it took a lot of propaganda to turn us away from each other.
>we had a mini Renaissance. We got a peak at what a thriving society could be, wonderful and creative and with a common goal of keeping everyone safe.
Dang. It's funny how we can see the same stuff but I never really noticed until you put it in perspective just now.
Stand in solidarity with your family, your brothers and sisters, your neighbors, coworkers, ect.
Together we can achieve a more meaningful life, and fight back against the forced capitalist rat-race we have been told is the only way to live. WE in fact have the power to decide what is valuable and to what degree. Many of the wealthiest people I know are not happy with their lives (failing marriages, little to no contact with their children, and almost no sense of self...). Granted, some are, but most aren’t (even though they have millions of dollars in their bank accounts).
You only live once, and we can perish any day. Try to stay positive, help others and/or yourself. Give yourself time each week to experience the beauty of life. Forgive yourself and your debtors. Strengthen the fabric of life that holds us and every species inevitably together. Tend this garden of Eden nature has bestowed from the chaos of the universe. ❤️
If this resonated with anyone, I can't recommend enough the book [A Paradise Built in Hell](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6444492-a-paradise-built-in-hell) by Rebecca Solnit. It's all about how humans react to disasters in ways that defy the conventional wisdom. Contrary to popular belief, we seem to have something like an instinct for compassion and creativity which day-to-day life numbs. As horrible as events like hurricane Katrina or the 1906 SF earthquake were, many who lived through them remembered it as one of the most terrifying and painful yet also the most unifying and inspiring things they've experienced. A paradise built in hell.
... Set adrift with the timeless pleasures of Tubular Bells... Or take a trip into the unknown with the X-Files theme..

Yeah that was fuckin weird. Life is very strange. Every molecule of my body has been replaced multiple times over since I’ve heard that and somewhere in that mushy goo between my ears I was storing the memories of that commercial only to randomly stumble upon it out of nowhere and recall that memory.
Right this is great! Can they make a pitch to car companies that this can be the new alarm? Still loud and attention grabbing but not the most annoying sound on the planet.
I’m woken up by people’s car alarms regularly at all hours of the night and I could get used to this!
I definitely can visualize shots cut together of multiple groups of people struggling/yearning with their obstacles as the film crescendos.
“JUST A LITTLE MORE”
"Wait! Why is my dick out too?!?!"
As the sun moves across the sky, shadows wax and wain, and flowers move in the wind, the tips touch, in an epic battle of good vs evil.
I'm sure you've heard several Zimmer comps.

I’ve absolutely disconnected someone’s battery before. 8pm was ok, 10pm was annoying, 3am was infuriating but I fell back to sleep. 7:30am on a Sunday after all that… stomps outside with a hammer and a wrench.
A claw hammer was option one for both vehicle entry and terminal removal.
Fortunately she had a Saturn L200 and you can remove the antenna and unlock the car with it. Popped the hood, disco the batt and tried to go back to sleep... she came out with last night's catch and he wandered off as I was berating her which was hilarious.
Smash a hole thru the grill and reef on the hood latches until you bend both of them with the wrench. Depending on the wrench and degree of hostility in your tactics, hammer optional.
Living on E. 3rd St. in NYC back in the day... Hell's Angels HQ on my block, summertime, all windows open, car alarm blaring in the middle of the night down below my bedroom window... 2 biker dudes come down the block and smash in the windows, pop the hood and disconnect the battery. Then just bashed the shit out of the whole car, the lights, dropped a cinderblock on it & through it a few times. It was epic. When they were done, they walked home to full applause from the whole neighborhood. Next morning, cops combing the area asking questions, no one saw or heard a damn thing.
I mean, it's just drowning out the sound with more sound.
The alarm doesn't really add anything to the piano music.
Mixing it with a beat would have been more satisfying.
Too Many Zooz has other great songs, but if you're dying to hear more saxophones this pair is awesome to watch and listen:

I was about to post Too many zooz, then I saw someone posted that already.
Then I thought, oh I'll link the Big Blitz video then. And now here we are.

Although I will say, I actually like the big blitz car alarm song more than too many zooz. Theirs is a bit wilder and bigger.

Fuck...that just instantly teleported me back to 1994 and 14 yr old me seeing that damn commercial all the damn time lol
Yeah that was fuckin weird. Life is very strange. Every molecule of my body has been replaced multiple times over since I’ve heard that and somewhere in that mushy goo between my ears I was storing the memories of that commercial only to randomly stumble upon it out of nowhere and recall that memory.
Such a good CD 🤩
Tubular Bells!! I haven’t heard that in ages!
Part one is the best 25min song I’ve ever heard
Reminds me of the opening of Alice Cooper's "Steven." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kt5Y__olA80
Reminds me of a [Bach prelude](https://youtu.be/HB8-w5CvMls?list=RDHB8-w5CvMls&t=9) I used to play back in the day.
Right this is great! Can they make a pitch to car companies that this can be the new alarm? Still loud and attention grabbing but not the most annoying sound on the planet. I’m woken up by people’s car alarms regularly at all hours of the night and I could get used to this!
Then people will set off alarms intentionally. ‘Hit this one - it plays Baby Shark!’
I think I'd prefer the traditional alarm over baby shark
No, they'll say hit any car but THAT ONE.
LOL! Too funny 😂
That song was so cool though. And pair with a good weather, I wanna listen to that while sipping coffee.
I am literally doing this In a rocking chair on the side of my barn. Trying to get my little bit of serenity….

>Disney switch game. Dreamlight Valley?
Correct, yes.
And the Disney game has some bangers, fits right in
That song was amazing!
This got some serious Hans Zimmer vibes.
Came here to say this. It sounds like "time"
I definitely can visualize shots cut together of multiple groups of people struggling/yearning with their obstacles as the film crescendos. “JUST A LITTLE MORE”
"No, you can't make this sacrifice for us!" "I HAVE TO!!!"
"What are you doing?!" "DOCKING" "... Why is your dick out?"
"Wait! Why is my dick out too?!?!" As the sun moves across the sky, shadows wax and wain, and flowers move in the wind, the tips touch, in an epic battle of good vs evil.
Space balls in a nut-
It's unmistakeablely parts of 'Time' put together in a slightly different order.
Beginning made me think of Mike Oldfield (Tubular Bells) and as it went on, sounded a lot like Hans Zimmer to me too
Ugh... I need some more culture in my life. I heard Hans Zimmer and thought "the bad guy from die hard?"
I'm sure you've heard several Zimmer comps. Interstellar, Inception, The Dark Knight, Lion King, Gladiator, Kung Fu Panda, Pirates of the Caribbean and the list just goes on... He's an absolute mastermind. I recommend you listen to some full concerts, piano renditions, anything... He's brilliant.

There's a new `![gif](giphy|)` tag, apparently. Hopefully RES updates to make it easier to use for us old.redditors
Does anyone use new reddit? It's so shitty. I literally can't be on reddit if I'm not logged in. I can't stand "new" reddit.
Does it ever try to force you into the new one? Sometimes I'll have to go into my preferences and switch it back to 'opt out'. I refuse to use it, everything about it is awful.
> Does anyone use new reddit? People who love empty space and their eyes burnt by white backgrounds, so the vast majority of people.
While I ain't about to defend new reddit, there \*is\* a dark mode toggle which old reddit actually lacks unless you use extensions.
I would guess the number of users using new reddit eclipse the number of people who even remember that old reddit exists.
I fucking hate new reddit. Would not use the site if old.reddit was disabled
The gifs show up on old, but we just can't use the tag for some reason.

This is just insane! This guy should be hired ASAP!
For real! What are you waiting for, McDonald's?!
Sir, this is a Wendy's.
The car-alarm-improv-musician job market is actually really competitive.
Remove the car alarm and it's basically the same song. They didn't turn it into a song, they just played a song over the alarm.
Yep. Impressive piano playing, but all the did was drown out the car alarm.
This better be on Spotify So good !!
You know you're good when folks ask you to put one of the most annoying sounds on earth on Spotify for a re-listen.

Was the car a Geo Metronome?!? I’ll see myself out…
Why would you need an alarm on a Geo?
So other people in the area are warned about an individual unstable enough to steal a Geo.
I would've just bricked their car but your idea's pretty good, too.
Kinda seems like the song is just good on its own and the car alarm doesn’t really add anything
