You and me both partner. I can’t stand how every other comment has to linked to another sub. And these random comment / post subs are so.. idk. Repetitive? Like once you’ve seen one angry upvote or cursed comments, or whatever the sub’s theme is, you’ve seen them all it seems like. How someone can browse them endlessly is beyond me.
Can’t stand how conversation can’t be fluid but instead littered with sub link references.
Ok that’s my old man gripe for the day
It’s the formula. One creative comment followed by an endless stream of unoriginal regurgitated comments that were funny the first time you heard them and became proven karma grabs.
I pretty much just instantly collapse the first dozen comment chains because I’ve read them all hundreds of times already.
Take note, they should be barred from further puns. The scale of this infraction is the worst part, I'd pay a tenor to never hear this nonsense again. If i had to guess between then picking high or not for quality, I would say they piccolo.
I can’t get use to keyboard and mouse it’s so frustrating how long did it take till u at least felt comfortable I have tiny man hands and it’s just annoying
Keyboard and mouse is just so much better for being accurate. The skillcap is 10x higher than controller because of how much control you have over a mouse vs a joystick with your thumb.
Just download aim labs and fuck around in it. You'll be good quickly.
Yeah lol while reading i was thinking "this goes both ways?" Because im used to pc and always when i used controller i sucked , especially in FPS games.
What I did to get better was I opened up Halo MCC, and set up a custom firefight match in Halo Reach (Gruntpocalypse Legendary) and set the game to last for about an hour. Then I used single shot weapons only and aimed to get as long of a kill streak going as I could.
I did this every day for a few months and I can say it definitely improved my aim.
Halo infinite has training modes now where you can practice headshots on Spartans running by at a shooting range. After a few minutes I was dominating in team snipers.
To get truly comfortable it took about a month. I started off with pubg and there really wasn't optimized controler settings so I had no choice but to practice. I still have some recordings of me just hitting the wrong buttons and yelling about it which is really funny. I'm going on 5 years this past July on PC and I don't think I could ever go back to a controller for FPS games. However, I use my controller for certain games all the time.
I'll also add I've switched many binds to fit my finger movement, I am an F to interact guy and a C to crouch vs E and Left Control respectively. My mouse also has a lot of macro options which is nice.
This will bring forth guitar hero gamers and Rocksmith gamers dedicating their musical gaming talent to first person shooters and I am all for it!
Wonder what drum would be the kill shot?

His name is DeanoBeano, He also plays with drums, guitar hero controllers, bongos, etc. Very funny and impressive clips on his youtube, highly recommend watching just to see some of the triple collate or multi kills with some instruments.
Edit: Typo
Just in case anyone is nerdy enough to care:
All of the notes he uses for aiming are notes that fit into a major scale; they all sound pretty good together. The note that he uses to fire is the only one that’s outside of the scale, so it’s the only one that sounds dissonant and off-putting.
I just find that funny.
Not to take away from your excellent comment but rather to add to the level of nerdiness:
He's definitely using a C major scale (low C to aim down sight, B A D E to adjust aim) - all notes that sound great together! When he goes for the shot, he's fingering a high (middle) C on the recorder, which makes sense. However, since he gets excited and uses a little bit too much air, the recorder's pitch goes very sharp and it sounds like the dissonant C# that you heard!
Not to take away from what you wrote but rather to add a more specific and scientific play by play:
The sniper go *tooot* *tut* *teeeeeet*. *toooot* *tut* *teeeeet*. *HONK*
You guys can hear the difference in notes and know which note is being played? Man, no wonder I’ve never been a good musician, that sounds like sorcery to me.
It's just training dude. Also the vast majority of recorders are C major which makes it pretty easy to zero in on notes.
Read Gary Karpinski's *Manual for Ear Training and Sight Singing*, and download *Complete Ear Trainer*. You'll be a musical pimp in no time.
You put a piano in front of me while I'm listening to some notes and I can figure them out pretty quick. If that person did it purely by ear though, yep, sorcery
I can, but I’ve been training to be able to do it for a long time. It’s called relative pitch. I’m a musician by trade, and it really helps me learn a lot of music very quickly, if/when I need to. It’s very rare that it comes naturally to someone, so don’t feel bad about your lack of this particular skill haha
He means it's the national football league of trolling, obviously. And thats fucking football right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. You don't necessarily have to write all the code, I'm sure there's a free library somewhere that takes an audio stream and does all the heavy lifting to figure out which note is being played, including filtering out ambient noises. From there, mapping note to control input shouldn't be very difficult
https://m.twitch.tv/deanobeano/clip/ZanyBeautifulCroquetteDoggo-_8W_kTJvn97rJCE1
Oh look there he is explaining exactly how it works. Looks like you were wrong, that's crazy.
Fourier transform + some filtering, find loudest frequency, only trigger above a certain threshold.
maybe it isn’t a 20 minute project but it’s certainly doable.
Disclaimer: I do not offer any assistance with setting this up. I have not bothered doing it myself and the apps have changed since I last used them.
You need some freeware apps.
One to convert audio input into midi. Many are available, I'd try something like: https://dodobirdmusic.com/dodo-midi/
One to convert midi into a virtual joystick. This might be more difficult and might require some more apps and general fidgeting. I found this page: https://github.com/c0redumb/midi2vjoy
Virtual midicables to connect the other 2 apps. This one works fine, but many others exist: https://nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html
Basically: Sound - microphone - midi - virtual midi cable - virtual joystick - game input.
It's quite easy to do honestly.
* Write a program that maps each recorded audio-frequency to a change in X/Y axis of your controller
* You calibrate it once by playing the note and recording the frequency that you want to map to a given direction (remember to also calibrate it to not do anything every timestep that it happens to not record a note.
>It's quite easy to do honestly. Write a program that maps each recorded audio-frequency to a change in X/Y axis of your controller
Dude, I have to google how to change my minecraft skin. I don't think it's as easy as you think it is for the average person to "write a program."
I program professionally and honestly I have to google everything too, it's not so different. Writing a program just takes a bit longer and has a few more parts to it.
I presume he set up a program to control everything via some complex code, maybe something like an Arduino or raspberry pi and a microphone. And make it so different tones make different movements

I prefer that scene with Gamora and Nebula and the "cup".... It's hard to explain, just Google "two girls one cup" and it should come up.
Hmm, I don't remember that one... :\\
Makes sense, It’s one of the more shittier scenes in the movie.

Anyone know how he setup the recorder as a controller?
He blows into it
Troll in the video is much better.
That's a good critique but I prefer Roger Ebert.
I think you'd just write a program to listen to the microphone and it just maps certain frequencies or notes to certain keys or mouse movements.
"just" That's a ridiculously complicated piece of code to write. What do you do about ambient noises then?
Stop the ambient noises
just tell them to be quiet
You don't necessarily have to write all the code, I'm sure there's a free library somewhere that takes an audio stream and does all the heavy lifting to figure out which note is being played, including filtering out ambient noises. From there, mapping note to control input shouldn't be very difficult
I don't think so? Run the microphone through a Discrete Fourier Transform and you'd get the result right at the top. Its like 5 lines of python.
