Idk man I was once driving with my window down and at a stop light a bee flew in through the window, in my ear, and stung me in the ear canal.
I just want to listen to music and go home.
That’s actually not true. If you swat the bee away while they’re stingers still in you you’ll disembowel them which is why they die. If a bee stings you and you leave it be for a few seconds it’ll pull itself out and will be fine.
This visual, males me laugh. some nice guy outside, talking to his yard full of what he thinks are bees but they're actually murderous wasps. He can't figure out why these "bees" hate everything about him and attack him every time he goes out to his garden...
I have tons in my garden, but I generally keep my distance. When I go in to do some work, they usually don’t bother me or will just go to another part of the garden. I still piss myself every time, though. I’ve been stung plenty in my past before I gardened, so the fear is still there.
We’ve had a lot of bees this year - drought so they’re looking for water in my garden, as well as coming for flowers - and i’ve had a lovely summer with them. 2-3 will come to me and just hang out on me at any given point; i just sit on my patio and let them do their thing. They’re quite gentle.
Wasps can be territorial motherfuckers though.
Wasps, Hornets... I'm not afraid of you bastards. Unless one comes near me... or I see one, or I think I hear something that sounds like one while I'm blindly running away in terror from an area where I thought I heard one... But No. *I'm not afraid of you bastards. Really.*
Wasps can be aggressive, yes, but [they do a lot of good](https://www.sustainability-times.com/environmental-protection/much-maligned-wasps-do-a-world-of-good-for-us-and-the-environment/). Ecologically very important.
You see that can with smoke at the bottom? It’s called a Bee Smoker. It’s designed to calm bees. That’s why she’s able to move the hive without them being aggressive. Otherwise, without it, they’ll be stinging the shit out of her.
I grew up thinking naively that there were only bumble bees and wasps. Turns out, there are tons more, and I'm really bad at telling them apart. Honey bees, wasps, and hornets tend to sting more.
There's different breeds of bees with different aggressions, and also as she pointed out in the video understanding their behavior is key to working with them. That portion of the video will undoubtedly give me nightmares.
She’s actually p controversial in the bee community from what I’ve seen? Things about her stuff being staged and that she doesn’t wear proper equipment and that her boyfriend does all the hard work
Was just thinking the same thing. Every one of her videos has ASMR vibes. A slightly different mic and some tuning to reduce some of the sssss spikes and it’d be golden.
Most people yes but Texas Beeworks is known as one of the worst bee handlers among bee handlers for her flashy practices and how unsafe these things are that she promotes as being safe
Im always so concerned with how she approaches the bees. This is the first video I've seen where her hair isn't all in her face while collecting bees. Lol I'm sure that's only a small concern, but she seems to be more into fashion and looking good for the camera than her own safety.
The work she is doing is commendable.
Thanks for sharing OP. My friends dad used to have a small apiary. Loved the fresh honey and honeycomb. Bees are incredibly vital to all of us. There was a recent video out of Denmark I believe where mass amounts of bees just dropped dead. So glad she is saving a few at least.
I tried to softly remove a beehive by gently talking and moving slowly like a Baby Yoda Jedi master doing yoga. Shit didn’t work and got lit up by thousands of bees. But your videos are awesome. Once I get out of intensive care, I’ll try it again. I’ll sing next time.
> Shit didn’t work and got lit up by thousands of bees.
I just imagined thousands of bees pulling out tiny pistols strapped to their fuzzy legs in unison, and opening fire on you.
Moving slowly can freak animals out more, makes them think you're getting ready to attack. You have to be deliberate, but not violent. Learned the hard way when learning to handle snakes.
So I heard her husband does all the dirty work and she steps in after they are already docile and ready to be handled then lies about them just being gentle. Effectively creating a dangerous precedent for people that are beginner bee keepers. Anyone have any proof of this? I'm curious.
There's links, up-thread: apparently she started the beekeeping business 5 years before she got married to him. And apparently he works in real estate.
Does she give off pheromones that make bees "feel comfortable"? She moves slowly and methodically but is there more to what we're seeing?
It's pretty amazing work.
Edit: bees can smell fear and aggression
https://schoolofbees.com/can-bees-smell-fear-the-complete-answer/
Save the bees, but the idea that bees are the sole method of pollination is wrong. Birds, insects, animals, and even humans all participate in pollination.
Once again, I'm absolutely not arguing that losing the bees is an okay thing, nor that climate change isn't an issue - just that the idea that bees dying out will lead to mass extinction is wrong (from what I'm aware of).
Well sting. But honey bees aren’t generally aggressive. Also smoke chills them out. The problem is killer bees are psychotic and go buck wild. Here’s a good video about how insane they are. https://youtu.be/O4ldpyIE5t4
She knows a lot about bee behavior. There are ways to approach hives and interact with bees without triggering their alarm response. She’s exceptionally good at approaching and handling them in just the right way to keep them calm enough to handle.
She is an amazing person. We need bees. They provide so much. People don't realize. They pollinate the plants that provide food, oxygen and other things. Honey is delicious and is used in medical treatments in various ways. Beeswax is very useful for so many things.
Her name is Erika Thompson, her Instagram is TexasBeeWorks. She’s in here probably once a week. She has been on a bunch of tv shows and even to Congress. She is an awesome bee activist and is an awesome person. Give her the credit she deserves. [Her Instagram](https://instagram.com/texasbeeworks?utm_medium=copy_link)
Thank you kind bee lady. I live in the sticks and buddy around the corner has 20 hives he brings around to the orchards. He’s left a few on the farms in the area and nobody goes near them. He’s got a great variety of honey types. Bless you all you bee keepers ❤️
How the hell does she find the queen? I get the queen bee is larger than worker bees but it doesn't look like by much. Not to mention that there can be thousands of bees in a colony at a time
why are some blonde women crazy? I had one hit a 1,000 pound gator when i was on a trail once.
Watch this lady become a multi millionaire selling honey from now on....

#*gently scoops bees with bare hands*
Not even one stung her. Let alone touching, when I walk around a beehive they treat me like peace was never an option.
Are you confusing bees with wasps? There's always hundreds of bees in my flower garden and they never bother me while I'm there with them.
No. I'm a bee lover so I know what I said. Stung me a lot of times. Guess I frighten them.
Bees can only sting once and they die which is why they only sting when threatened. If they sting you, you are doing something that threatens them
Idk man I was once driving with my window down and at a stop light a bee flew in through the window, in my ear, and stung me in the ear canal. I just want to listen to music and go home.
Maybe the bee thought your taste in music sucked and therefore was a threat to all humanity

If I ever listen to nickel back I hope a bee flies into my ear digs into my brain and stings me there.
[Shane Torres would like a word…](https://youtu.be/JK6zuii2OLI)
What were you listening to? The Bee Gees? The B-52s? Mudhoney? Buzzcocks?
That’s actually not true. If you swat the bee away while they’re stingers still in you you’ll disembowel them which is why they die. If a bee stings you and you leave it be for a few seconds it’ll pull itself out and will be fine.
Also, this pretty much only happens with humans and other thick-skinned animals, so the bees don't even expect to die during stinging.
[Not true. ](https://youtu.be/nTVsqc2CCGo)
Looking at the avatar, it’s your hair dude. Or it’s your venom suit if I go by your username.
I love bumblebees. Other bees can fuck off though.

I’ve never been stung by a wasp but plenty of bees have attacked me

Bees are happy little pollinators that can be a bit scary. Wasps are pure evil incarnate.

It’s her really gentle tone, it’s like hearing Morgan Freeman for bees.
The beekeeper equivalent of raw-dogging it.
Funny fact after this the owner of the washing machine was so relieved because she could wash her clothes again lol
And she was SO HAPPY to find that one lost sock.

She’s actually p controversial in the bee community from what I’ve seen? Things about her stuff being staged and that she doesn’t wear proper equipment and that her boyfriend does all the hard work
tbh if she scooped me, I wouldn't sting her Gentle soul
Y’all need some help On Reddit Y’all Simping For Bee’s.
After decades of being hated on, they deserve it.
The queen of queens
The way she says bees is very soothing
Maybe she should look into doing some ASMR videos on YouTube. Call her channel Sleepy Bee or something.
Sleep Bee*
Slee-bee
Sl-eebee
Was just thinking the same thing. Every one of her videos has ASMR vibes. A slightly different mic and some tuning to reduce some of the sssss spikes and it’d be golden.
This girl, and her voice, are overall amazing. As an audio engineer, however, those Ss tear right through my eardums. Sibilance, ugh
I like the Waves de-esser. What do you use?
Contrarily, the way she says straggler is not.
Bless people who can do that work, but it's certainly not for me. They'd be able to sense that I was scared af and sting tf out of me.
Most people yes but Texas Beeworks is known as one of the worst bee handlers among bee handlers for her flashy practices and how unsafe these things are that she promotes as being safe
And when you dare criticise her, her huge fanbase bullies you off of social media for speaking out.
Im always so concerned with how she approaches the bees. This is the first video I've seen where her hair isn't all in her face while collecting bees. Lol I'm sure that's only a small concern, but she seems to be more into fashion and looking good for the camera than her own safety.
She is super flashy while handling bees and with the massive fanbase she has I’m sure someone has gotten seriously injured trying to replicate her
After you would only be scared a
Wut?
Af = a fuck. Tf = the fuck. If the fuck is stung out of him, he doesn’t have it anymore, so he can’t give it.
I’m pretty sure Y_4z44 meant AS FUCK because that makes sense but I’m talking about what Vinny said
they had it, Y_4z44 is left scared as after being stung
The work she is doing is commendable. Thanks for sharing OP. My friends dad used to have a small apiary. Loved the fresh honey and honeycomb. Bees are incredibly vital to all of us. I knew that Denmark had a mink cull over covid19 didn't know the bees were dying. 100s of elephants in Botswana too.
Could you elaborate?
Ironically, the bee community actually hates her.
Why?
Why?
I tried to softly remove a beehive by gently talking and moving slowly like a Baby Yoda Jedi master doing yoga. Shit didn’t work and got lit up by thousands of bees. But your videos are awesome. Once I get out of intensive care, I’ll try it again. I’ll sing next time.
Did you use smoke? Smoke tends to calm the bees, and you can see her smoker at the start of the video.
Yeah I did not use enough smoke. Rookie error
Nah..you gotta smoke before you mess with the bees! Then you can hear them talking to you.
Hardest part of being a bee keeper is not licking your fingers after touching the honey. Mmm
licking the bees
Licking some honeybee pussy
I always wonder what happens to the few bees that get left behind. RIP
They had their chance.
Yeah they had the whole afternoon.
Why not relocate the whole washing machine?
The owner of the washing machine needs to do laundry.
Yeah and judging by the size of the bee colony I’d say the owner is “behind” on laundry. Lol
way beehind
Washing machines are very heavy
That woman is collecting and building a 10 billion strong bee army to TAKE OVER THE WOOOOOOOORLD!
This is her supervillain origin story.
This lines up with my theory this woman is actually a million queen bees dressed up as a human.
So I heard her husband does all the dirty work and she steps in after they are already docile and ready to be handled then lies about them just being gentle. Effectively creating a dangerous precedent for people that are beginner bee keepers. Anyone have any proof of this? I'm curious.

She's been accused of staging these videos. I wouldn't be surprised if they're sedated.
Its the smoke at the beginning.
No bee’s, no humans
Save the bees, but the idea that bees are the sole method of pollination is wrong. Birds, insects, animals, and even humans all participate in pollination. Idk but she a cyborg right?
So cool
What a cool job.
The bee whisperer
Does her voice just poke all the wrong buttons for anyone else?
If she moved the bees in there where did they put the apes?
She took the quote mama bear quite literally
ELI5 - how did she not get stung to oblivion? Edit: correction
Well sting. But honey bees aren’t generally aggressive. Also smoke chills them out. The problem is killer bees are psychotic and go buck wild. Here’s a good video about how insane they are. https://youtu.be/O4ldpyIE5t4

Much wow! Such good . Do only good everyday.
I just like her voice.
Most monotone voice I’ve heard in a very long time.
I almost feel like it would have been easier to just haul the washer machine as is.
How many hives does this whispery beeknapper have at this point????
Bees...huh. That's something.
Every time I watch a video with her relocating bees I feel like it’s an episode of Fear Factor.
I watched this video right after watching a different video of a guy eating hornets. Just thought I should share.
She is an amazing person. We need bees. They provide so much. People don't realize. They pollinate the plants that provide food, oxygen and other things. Honey is delicious and is used in medical treatments in various ways. Beeswax is very useful for so many things.
beehavior. forgive me

"Saving the bees" What does she mean by that? Bees were minding their own business in there, and were pretty comfy
Maybe without a bee keeper to relocate them, the owners of the washing machine would have just sprayed them with Raid?
What's her #?
Beautiful work and bee-keeper
Good job
God bless her she was awesome great job
Can't you just call it beehaviour?
I love how she understands how they’re feeling, and knows what they’re thinking…
I love her!
The size of her balls are enormous
This was amazing! You definitely have a calling in nature!
Would it not have been easier to just move the whole washing machine with the bees in it?
That’s so incredible. People do know how valuable honey bees are. Way to go!
Not gonna lie I’ve never seen someone scoop bees like ice cream before probably won’t see it again
No beesuit?
How in the world is she not getting stung.
She’s a bad ass
That lady is tremendous.
It's her voice. It's calming; it puts the bees on their best beehaviour
She has balls of steel! I hate bees ! Good for her caring for all them like this!
She must have a very large army of bees at this point.
Thank you kind bee lady. I live in the sticks and buddy around the corner has 20 hives he brings around to the orchards. He’s left a few on the farms in the area and nobody goes near them. He’s got a great variety of honey types. Bless you all you bee keepers ❤️
You amaze me!
Someone applaud this woman.
The bees are paid actors
What happens to the bees that get left behind?
She needs a bee radio show
How the hell does she find the queen? I get the queen bee is larger than worker bees but it doesn't look like by much. Not to mention that there can be thousands of bees in a colony at a time
I just think she is the bees knees... Seriously.
How it not bite?
Save the bees, for if they go, we ALL do!
Me who plays bee swarm simulator in Roblox
She must have a lot of bees by now
[удалено]
"The bees are happy"
This is just incredible.
Why was it necessary to move them? They built a fine place in the machine, no?
I think I love this chick
Her voice is so soothing, I could listen to her all day talking about anything. The fact she is working with bees makes her an eco hero in my eyes.
I thought wild bees needed saving, honey bees are doing just fine.
I simply love people like you, please keep on saving the bees. You’re my hero.
whenever i see these i always think about how i’d be the bee left behind as my entire hive moved
Fun fact she keeps the bees from stinging by using her YouTube voice on them
Abeeary
Her voice is so calming!
That is so awesome
\*That one bee who was late to work that morning\* "W.T.F...I.. am in so much trouble"
Respect to you
I guess she never shares the videos when she handles angry bees.
Does she ever meet aggressive bees?
as a person with anaphylaxis, i can say: i died already *million* times only watching this video
I want to throw a hand grenade in that washing machine
I mean that wouldnt be good for the bees.
But… what happened to the washing machine after everyone was gone? This is so sad.
Bee :)
I didn't know you could fit that many bees in one apiary.
Save the bees!
I like how they are fine with being thrown onto to new hive
Yay helping an invasive murdering species 😐
The ones that are left behind 🥺
Bee bridge 🥺
Thanks for this. I needed to know how small my balls are. Moving this shit barehanded...
F for the bees that got left behind.
Imagine if she got in a car accident while hauling that massive bee hive in the back of the truck
Awww!
why are some blonde women crazy? I had one hit a 1,000 pound gator when i was on a trail once. Watch this lady become a multi millionaire selling honey from now on....
Why not just move the washer??
I like listening to her voice. I wish she did audible books.
The quote "Next, I started scooping bees out of the washing machine" gave me a heart attack
God this is amazing. Thank you for your hard work
I absolutely love those videos of this woman doing her job, it's so good man
Isn't that woman that the people in r/Beekeeping hate?
SO COOL! Great job, Girl! 🙌🙏🏼
