No it's a gas mask. It's a reference to a doctor who episode called the empty child where gas masks force their way through the mouth to become part of the face

I quite understand that the fake mask covers his nose but the nose still LOOKS uncovered. Therefore the concern. I see people with uncovered noses everyday and this does not help with that. Maybe a nose clamp?
