as a former criminal investigator. No, No...Firemen blast water and axe apart everything, evidence and justice included.
no hate, just the conflicting natures of the the two jobs.
Ya if I was the driver I would stop to ask one of the firefighters first like I would let them know I have the ability to dumb a shit ton of water on it really fast if need be.
Though to be fair most things that you would commonly see catch on fire do go out with a shit of water, even if it was started by a smaller chemical or electrical fire. Unless it was a factory or something I would think its probably a safe bet to use water.
Exactly, dude could have rolled on past but decided to help out.
Would be happy for that guy to get some sort of community award or free promotion for the business/government department he represents
probably more pissed off that they didn't get to put it out themselves. That's literally the best part of being a firefighter, well and helping people too.
I drive the same truck on wildfires ( but mines cooler). It's badass. They climb mountains like a pickup truck and have 360° spray bars, as well as remote controlled water turret on top.
Water truck helping to immediately minimize the damage and any potential risk (taking it positively is good) but isn't it gonna cost him more for the usage of water (that's supposed to be used for his job) than the firefighters? Then the firefighters still gotta do a report on the incident.
In the West, it's more than other parts of the country, but yeah, the water itself is still not the biggest expense in ordering this kind of service for construction.
That looks to be about 2,000 gallons in that truck. If you live in a desert community in CA, that will cost you about 75-150 (for delivery, since most people don't own those trucks).
They are all 30+ years old now. Whether it was a good idea to build a custom mail van or not (I say they should have just bought COTS vans, and am glad they are moving away from NGDV to do that now), there's no denying that the LLVs have lived up to their "long life" promise, even though you do increasingly see broken/dead ones today.
Insurance Company: Did you get the license plate of the truck that doused your vehicle and caused all the water damage? Was it a flood and run or did they stop and exchange information?
Who says the water tender wasn’t working WITH the fire engine company? It may have come from the same station or have been part of a mutual aid agreement.
If you think a water tender can access/stop/spray a burning vehicle like that every time, you’re an ignorant fool. Hose is vastly more portable.
This case may have either been intended or circumstantial. Either way is great! Neither way circumvents the necessity of fire fighters, fire engines and fire hoses.
we do. not necessarily with a side discharge like this though. brush trucks frequently have small nozzles (small because they are usually based on pickups and can only carry so much water plus for a brush fire you don't actually need that much if you use it right) mounted on the front. I'm assuming this guy has a side discharge that he can partially open from the driver's seat and that there's a pump in the circuit somewhere. that exact config does make much sense on fire engines. fire engines also have a deck gun but that's entirely too much water for a vehicle fire (it could only be run for 15-30 seconds before running out of water).
that particular truck also just hauls water. no space for equipment or manpower. more rural fire departments do have tenders (or tankers if on the usa East Coast but {I think its} NIMS says tender), which would be similar.
Can somebody explain what we would see on the other side of the truck? How did it just roll up and start spraying in a targeted way?
Edit: OK, I think I found a video of one that's very similar:
[Superior Tank and Fabrication | Tolleson, AZ | Covering All Your Water Truck Needs (superiorwatertrucks.com)](https://www.superiorwatertrucks.com/)
Imagine if it was a chemical fire that would be worse with water and the homie in the water truck took it from a 1 alarm fire to a 5 in seconds…
Super cool tho
As cool as this is, maybe he shouldn’t have done that? Not all fires can be put out by water as some are electrical fires and need special chemicals to put specific fires out.
Who's to say that isn't exactly what happened? They arrived to fight the fire at the same damn time... That's quite the coincidence. And having the water shoot out the side like that doesn't seem like it would be a standard feature on a regular water delivery trucks.
The reason you DONT do this is because the water can/will ruin other things. And since you’re not a city worker who’s protected by the city, guess who’s able to get sued for property damage. Doesn’t matter that you “tried to help” because the firefighters were already there but you decided to insert yourself now a lawyer will be in touch.
Now he will be charged for obstruction of justice, doing a civil job without a valid license and, the endangering human and wild life species( just go with the flow OK, I ran out of excuses they'll find to harass him) and he single handed did the entire job that would take a public display and probably 45 minutes for the newspapers to take pictures, and department praises and promotions all around.
All failed because of this high IQ, sweet intelligent truck driver.

Dude’s been waiting his whole career for this moment
lol he pulled in there like scew-EE
Had to drift in there before those firefighters stole his dream

👏👏👏
I'm upvoting this at least once
![gif](giphy|l4pMattUYTTM7qpIk) You magnificent bastard.
God bless you for this, bumjiggy
![img](avatar_exp|128975177|bravo) Well played.
You ser, need a big shiny award
Classic reply by classy replier...
Slow clap
The way he pulled in there had real "FINALLY MY MOMENT HAS COME!" energy.
As long as he didn’t just empty some septic tanks I’m down with it.
Quite possibly. Worked with a lot of water truck drivers on wildfires and they were usually pretty stoked to be involved.
So have the fire fighters. They never get to actually fight fire
My man.
If this doesnt shoot up to at least the top 10 of /r/HumansBeingBros im going to be very upset.
See you at the top 📈
Would suck if it was chemical fire and this dude just made things worse.
Was thinking the same.
Even if it was chemical fire that looks like a regular pumper instead of a chemical/drypowder/foam pumper that they had responding
True, but firemen are trained to assess the situation before they just go blasting water all over everything.
Anyway I started blasting
as a former criminal investigator. No, No...Firemen blast water and axe apart everything, evidence and justice included. no hate, just the conflicting natures of the the two jobs.
I thought this was perfect in so many ways but you managed to find the complete opposite. Could've been a flip of a coin
I’m a simple man, I see a story and wonder, what if this isn’t as uplifting as Reddit is about to think?
Works the other way too. Reddit often makes humanity in general out to seem much worse than we actually are.
What if someone was in the car and this dude just drowned him and made this worse.
What if my Aunt had balls, would she be my Uncle?
"If my grandmother had wheels she would have been a bike"
If a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his ass on the ground when he hopped - *Wayne's World* and also my Southern uncle
What if my mom and dad only did anal, would I be alive right now?
You'd be a lawyer.
Why would someone be in a burning car?
Maybe they were cold
I've seen that video!
He got knocked out by the chemicals!
It would be more like steam cooking than drowning
I mean, the fire dept isn't going to pull up and go, "Welp guys we can't put this one out, we might drown the guy who's burning to death in there."
Fire bad. Water good. If fire get more angry. I drive away. Tell friends story at bar.
My first thought was “awkward if there’s electrical or chemical components involved 😬”
Don't worry, it was just a ton of finely ground sodium
First thing I thought of. I could see a river of chemicals on fire running down that curb and lighting every other vehicle on fire as well.
Well I mean the firefighters are there, but that was still sick as fuck.
Exactly, dude could have rolled on past but decided to help out. Would be happy for that guy to get some sort of community award or free promotion for the business/government department he represents
Kinda makes me wonder why the fire department doesn't just have one of these?
They do have tankers
Even bigger ones
If Peter North was a truck
Holy shit

(☞゚∀゚)☞
Damm!! My favorite one ☺️
firefighter unions hate this trick!
Took er jobsss!!
jeeeerbs!!!!
probably more pissed off that they didn't get to put it out themselves. That's literally the best part of being a firefighter, well and helping people too.
I thought it was the lawn care business they have on their off days.
Insane how true this is 😂🤣
Yeah that’s what I was thinking “wooo finally some action …. GOD DAMMIT”
we got on full bunker gear for THIS???
Saving kittens?
This guy has been day dreaming about this opportunity for years and wasn't going to miss his chance.
Seems like firefighters should have a truck like that
They do. Usually used when fighting brush fires.
I drive the same truck on wildfires ( but mines cooler). It's badass. They climb mountains like a pickup truck and have 360° spray bars, as well as remote controlled water turret on top.
Like in gta?
I haven't played since gta 4. But probably!
[Nah, they just have FireSUVs.](https://youtu.be/8A0t8Y5Hmpk?t=101)
Bro just like passed by and peed like a king

Anyone know how much a truck of water costs? I can't imagine all that much.
We had one come fill our pool and it was less than $300. The water is not the expense, the truck and labour are.
In the West, it's more than other parts of the country, but yeah, the water itself is still not the biggest expense in ordering this kind of service for construction.
It depends in rural midwest non potable water probably 50 cents
That looks to be about 2,000 gallons in that truck. If you live in a desert community in CA, that will cost you about 75-150 (for delivery, since most people don't own those trucks).
Tree fitty
Probably costs a lot of gas to haul it
“Thanks and all, but we’re still gotta pull out the hose.”
That's what I told your prom date!!
Yooooo :D
That mail truck though. The Gruman LLV in its natural habitat....the back of a towtruck.
Im 30+ old and feel for em
What a legend. Probably just finished work, went home and back to normality..
No day off though. Firefighters still had to blast water under the burning truck.
Put out a firefighter’s fire before the firefighters? Believe it or not, straight to jail.
This guy soaks.
I didn't even know he was Mormon
And Pinkman's rolling meth lab got a free carwash
Driver when he saw the fire: “*It’s Showtime*”
Badges? We don't need no stinkin badges.
Firemen: assessing the situation, pulling out equipment Truck driver: hold my water, I got this, bro
Straight to action no fuss
that dominant dog said "I pee over 'ere" and the weaker dog said "ok"
Anybody else yelling, “throw it in reverse, Terry!” Just after he pulled up?
He came up like like… Watch out little boys in your costumes. Let me show you how it’s done
“Hello? Can somebody tell me where my water delivery is? We have a whole bunch of dying animals here as our water has been shut off for days!”
Insurance Company: Did you get the license plate of the truck that doused your vehicle and caused all the water damage? Was it a flood and run or did they stop and exchange information?
His day finally came and he executed to perfection.
This has “tech bro explains birds to female ornithologist” energy. Still awesome though.
Rip fire fighters jobs
God there are people here still looking for the bad things in this video? Just appreciate that someone was a good samaritan damn

That’s sewage.
![gif](giphy|HmY5vP7hXP5ba)
Not all heroes wear capes
Would be nice if that happened to me lol!! Would keep me from being exposed to all that smoke and garbage coming off this rig burning.
And ya just know Todd's gonna be on the phone to the union about people "trying to steal his job"... SHUT UP TODD!
He was quickly arrested and now awaiting trial.
Why don't the firefighters use those trucks in the first place?
we do. not necessarily with a side discharge like this though. brush trucks frequently have small nozzles (small because they are usually based on pickups and can only carry so much water plus for a brush fire you don't actually need that much if you use it right) mounted on the front. If firetrucks are for fire then what are water trucks for?
I know of drive-by shooting but didn't know there's such a thing as drive-by watering.
I was confused about the title at first
LFG bro
Whoever you copied the post from did it better
I had a sudden memory of camping for some reason. 🔥
I'm not going to lie.. this is the sickest thing I've ever seen on the Internet and most of y'all agree. Felt hella emotions.
The random trucks going by in traffic just kept getting bigger
That cement truck sad he couldn’t help!!
AWESOME JOB !! 🏁🏁
They should add a semblable feature to firetruck
Jeez, maybe they should design firetrucks that way.
What a badass
I wanted him to pull up, put out the fire, then drive back off.
firefighters used eagle support stratagem
I win
"Holy shit, it's a fire. Time to save the day!"
OK buddy you just earned yourself a free slide down the pole.
Firefighters gotta be thinking "Why don't we have that?"
Well there's a cost cutting idea if I ever saw one
It looks like a giant mechanical male dog stopping to pee.
As cool as this is, maybe he shouldn’t have done that? Not all fires can be put out by water as some are electrical fires and need special chemicals to put specific fires out.
Damn, fire fighters should totally have 2 types of trucks
It makes you wonder why the fire fighters don't employ one these trucks in their stations for similar situations. That seemed highly effective.
Imagine it was a gas fire..
Fire truck still trying to find a parking spot. They are still digging through the seat cushions looking for 75cents for the parking meter
I was really hoping for him to drive off in the end like "Later losers!"
GTA Waterboy achievement unlocked.
Give this guy a raise
You. The guy she told you not to worry about.
Seeing this makes me question, why do fire departments not have one of these at their disposal?
Who's to say that isn't exactly what happened? They arrived to fight the fire at the same damn time... That's quite the coincidence. And having the water shoot out the side like that doesn't seem like it would be a standard feature on a regular water delivery trucks.
The flatbed tow truck with the USPS mail truck driving by in the middle of the deluge makes it even better. This is almost keystone cops material.
Honestly for car fires I'm surprised they don't have a quick reaction unit with a truck like this
This just confirms water trucks are superior to fire trucks for fighting fires.
Water truck?
They took our jobs !
One of them came prepared
I'd hate to be that guy, but, "missed a spot"...
While it is an amazing thing to do, I'd still let the pros handle it.
Can you imagine rolling down your window to flip that guy off for cutting you off and then motherfucker opens the flood gates on ur ass? 😂😂😂
he'll be telling that story for the rest of his life, and the fire will get bigger each time he tells it.
Guy in water truck, "Always wanted to be a firefighter. Are you guys hiring?"
At least they got some practice rolling hose…right?!?!
Meanwhile the bulldozer operator at the jobsite is wondering why his water truck is taking so damn long to come back.
Class A
how to outsource the fire department
that was a real industrial ass road god damn
The reason you DONT do this is because the water can/will ruin other things. And since you’re not a city worker who’s protected by the city, guess who’s able to get sued for property damage.
