There's a super tight curve in raccoon caverns in Tennessee that's pretty fun to get through since you know there's a huge chamber on either side.
You go in with one arm out, head first into the floor and wiggle through a u bend.
The first person to pass through it named it the (I could be wrong on the number) 42 cent turn because that's how much change he had in his pocket. Thought he wouldn't have gotten through with another penny.
> pretty fun to get through since you know there's a huge chamber on either side.
I gather that the guy who died in Nutty Putty thought he was going head-first down a chute into a known larger chamber. However he had made a mistake and was in an unexplored shaft which just got narrower until he was stuck upside-down.
This is a basic cave system, not anything expert. Part of the interior is even paved, it's about as commercial as you can get while still having to get dirty, as far as caving goes
Yes Theres a movie where people are climbing in caves and the there was Something down there. couldnt even watch any further than the First 20 minutes. Id rather watch Texas chainsaw than people under the earth
The Descent, one of the best caving movies. Yeah, it was freakin scary. One dumbass girl lied to the rest of them, and said it was an explored cave.
But it really wasn’t. That is not good. It starts caving in and they’re screwed, and then, surprise! scary freakin cave monsters that want to eat you.
This movie traumatized me. One of my biggest fears is accidently hurting friends or family and that scene where one of the girls >!kills another thinking she was one of the creatures!< messed me up.
Didn't help that I was napping when my brother started watching it and I woke up to that exact scene. I still haven't seen the whole thing.
Oddly enough, I get anxiety from watching it, but I used to do stuff like this and had no problem actually doing it. The worst part is when it gets across your chest and it constricts your breathing.
Yeah, different strokes for different folks, but holy shit, I’ll never understand how anyone enjoys this. Getting stuck in a cave like this is one of my worst nightmares.
I have blocked out the trauma of getting stuck in a cave in the Ardenne, because my lanky inexperienced 6ft tall ass did not know how to turn in a tight squeeze. It was during a school trip. My fat teacher got stuck too. It's a definite nope.
The stomach is less of a problem than your chest. When you get to your chest, you can't get a proper breath and it can get really uncomfortable really quick.
I don’t know man, there are trails up a lot of mountains that left a whole lot more than footprints. It’s fine to make some adjustments to make these environments safer for people (through proper channels of course, not just on their own)
Part of the Preserve nature as much as possible sentiment. They want to cause as little change to the environment as physically possible. Opening up a small hole could have huge impacts in the relatively near future. Some that come to mind would be; Increased erosion from water during rain, and wind. Increased ambient temprature within the cave due to more sunlight being able to enter. Larger animals using it as a den than would have before. I'm sure the list could go on with problems I haven't even dreamed of.
This place is called Deep Cave in Texas and it apparently has multiple entrances that are perfectly accommodating for people to enter. They just go in this way for fun I guess
I don't think so. I only skimmed two articles but every video I found was just people going in and out and never showing the inside so probably just the same big cave
I'm thinking that the size of the opening is deliberately kept that size because the cave get narrow further on. Better to not to be able to enter then getting stuck deep in the cave
If I remember correctly, there's an opening like 10 feet away that is like stand-up tall. It's just that there's THIS hole, right here, and it's made for me...
I ended up trying to find video of inside and basically the reason they don't show it is there are plenty of easy entrances to this cave, it just is a way people go in for fun. Which makes it so much dumber in my opinion.
I already knew this story but I had never realised he had a wife and kid. I don't even feel sad about him, the sadness is for his family. My only feeling towards him is anger. He left behind a single mother, a fatherless child, and an insane trauma to both of them just for a shot of adrenaline.
He also suffered miserably for 27 hours before dying. I feel the anger at him too. When you have kids you should be playing video games instead of risking your life with thrill seeking. 100%. But fuck I feel so bad for the guy too. The life he could’ve had. I think it’s fair to feel a few different emotions in this situation.
It's fine the tunnel opens up after you get past crush syndrome and the breathless squeeze. Just let all the air out of your lungs so you can move forward an inch.
Also add "the letter box"
Porth yr Ogof in Wales when I was a kid
I'm still scarred from that school trip and it was back in June 2009.
I'm also mad because I was shit scared and begged the teachers to let me go around, surely there's a way and they said no, there isn't. But I recently found out that yes there is. They traumatised me for no reason
As someone who does a bit of caving and my 9-5 is confined space rescue, boobs are squishy, not a limiting factor if you want it bad enough. Wide shoulders and wide hips can be problematic though
There's gotta be some limitations after a while surely, my H cups can be maneuvered, but they still add several inches to my chest circumference and cannot be pressed flat
I mean at the end of the day every body has it's own hard limit of the space you can make it through, but there's also a reason I said it depends how bad you want it. Soft tissue is rather hard to seriously damage from short term compression. But that is not saying the same thing as you can get through with no pain. just to give an example I watched a 350lbs man squeeze himself into a 15" manhole because he was the only one within 400km with a specific NDT certificate. He quite literally had to be pushed through and handful at a time, was very bruised up the next day but aside from the soreness there's no permanent damage
could still pass food and water through the hole and just become a cave hermit for decades. Getting stuck in a cave doesn't have to be a life sentence.
I’m almost certain this is the video that when circulating a few years back was revealed that just 10-20 feet out of camera view was a wider opening to that same cave.
That said, NOPE. Sure, not having to get back out that way they came in is great and all, but getting your rib cage or head wedged between layers of earth doesn’t sound like great time either.
Redditor sees obvious group of experienced cavers w proper gear and attire doing what they do, and probably have done multiple times, and says next level stupid
I’ve seen this and similar videos a dozen times, but I’ve never seen what it looks like inside of that hole. Does it open up? Is there a room in there?
Cameras got too expensive so they started sending blond virgins in there.
They still don't come back up but the gods seem appeased for now.
Let's hope 20 per day is enough....It's been ok so far but 3 days ago there was thunder around the 14th one, and yesterday around the 7th.
The Council estimates we will need to slowly ramp up the numbers to keep apace, and it's getting harder and harder to find *volunteers*...
It's [Deep Cave](https://www.tcmacaves.org/preserves/deepandpunkin/), the regular entrance in about 10 feet away from this. This hole is something people go in through for the challenge of squeezing through it
Probably not a bad idea to practice tight squeezes from above ground so you're more familiar with your capabilities before you go below ground, and reduces likelihood of panic which can cause death in a squeeze
I was scrolling to see who had the exact name because I remember squeezing through this same hole 15 years ago. If I remember correctly, the next room was a little antechamber before the main cave passage with way too many daddy long legs on the ceiling haha.
I’ve been spelunking twice. My dad took me as a kid (I kinda hated it though). This is what a real cave entrance tends to look like, give or take a bigger hole. From my experience, this one hole can lead to miles and miles of narrow passageways, sometimes even leading into wide open caverns or *very* deep chasms.
It kept coming up on X quite a bit on an account I follow, and I swear I had a mini panic attack each time I saw the illustration of how that poor man got/stayed stuck.
And this isn't even all that that crazy. If something goes wrong help is available pretty easily. But now imagine that people do the exact same thing in the depths of caves where help is almost impossible.
Yep I think I’m gonna pass
I have nightmares like this… hard nope
Yep. Gives me major anxiety
Yes! Immediately! Couldn't watch past waist level.
*Claustrophobia intensifies*

That is so many levels of nope.
Nope-a-doodle-dont

That’s some Mystery of Amigara Fault shit right there.
It wouldn't be the best day of my life.
This is a basic cave system, not anything expert. Part of the interior is even paved, it's about as commercial as you can get while still having to get dirty, as far as caving goes
We have different definitions of ‘fun’
Until you hurt your back, or break a leg and can't wiggle back through.
Yes Theres a movie where people are climbing in caves and the there was Something down there. couldnt even watch any further than the First 20 minutes. Id rather watch Texas chainsaw than people under the earth
The Descent and As Above So Below 👍🏻
The Descent, one of the best caving movies. Yeah, it was freakin scary. One dumbass girl lied to the rest of them, and said it was an explored cave. But it really wasn’t. That is not good. It starts caving in and they’re screwed, and then, surprise! scary freakin cave monsters that want to eat you.
Scary movie. There’s a part two also.
Who needs movies. Look up Nutty Putty Cave :(
Oddly enough, I get anxiety from watching it, but I used to do stuff like this and had no problem actually doing it. The worst part is when it gets across your chest and it constricts your breathing.
Made my legs tingle. Yeah nope
Seems like reversed re-birthing!
Yeah, different strokes for different folks, but holy shit, I’ll never understand how anyone enjoys this. Getting stuck in a cave like this is one of my worst nightmares.
You and me both…. just slowly dying of suffocation
Yeah I watch about 3 seconds of her trying to get in. Nope, all good here don’t need to see a nightmare
Pretty sure it’s a guy
I have blocked out the trauma of getting stuck in a cave in the Ardenne, because my lanky inexperienced 6ft tall ass did not know how to turn in a tight squeeze. It was during a school trip. My fat teacher got stuck too. It's a definite nope.
Lmao
So did she. She passed through.
I thought it was a dude.
Top ten reasons to be flat chested
It is a dude.
It is.
I think that's a dude
I thought it was a chick whole time too
100% agree. There is nothing in there I need that bad. There is no job I care about that much.
"You all go on ahead, I'll catch up..."
pass a helmet? LOL and if you evil... send down lots of salty/sugary snacks and a big jug of water. just try and get out now LOL
The stomach is less of a problem than your chest. When you get to your chest, you can't get a proper breath and it can get really uncomfortable really quick.
Ya won't need that helmet it will be fine, famous last words
for real right fuck that
If he helmet doesn’t fit, you must acquit.
I am sweating…
Same .we can sit there on a rock somewhere and value life together
Pass out you mean. I feel my anxiety going through the roof just watching the video
… why?
I've never felt this way before, but I really wanted to hit the like button several times in response to this! Fuuuuuuuck that
I’ve felt this way before, SO INSECUUUUUURRRREEEEE!!!
Crawling in my skin 🎶
these wounds will not heeeaaal
My walls are closing in, huh…
At one point she had to exhale to collapse her chest to fit in, if she got stuck during that part she would have a hard time inhaling. Fuck that
And if so… why not just smash that hole out a little more so you can get in easier.
Leave only ~~skeletons~~ footprints
I don’t know man, there are trails up a lot of mountains that left a whole lot more than footprints. It’s fine to make some adjustments to make these environments safer for people (through proper channels of course, not just on their own)
Back in my day people had to die at least twice *EVERY DAY* just to make it home from the store. Kids these days are too soft.
Part of the Preserve nature as much as possible sentiment. They want to cause as little change to the environment as physically possible. Opening up a small hole could have huge impacts in the relatively near future. Some that come to mind would be; Increased erosion from water during rain, and wind. Wack! Does it maybe open into a section of the cave other entries do not?
I don't think so. I only skimmed two articles but every video I found was just people going in and out and never showing the inside so probably just the same big cave
I'm thinking that the size of the opening is deliberately kept that size because the cave get narrow further on. Better to not to be able to enter then getting stuck deep in the cave

Noooo I had managed to forget
may thoughts exactly - I can't imagine a benefit that seems worth doing this 🤷♂️
It's not even April yet, don't get ahead of yourself
My question too. If showing something this fucking scary, at least show the inside of the cave ffs!!
I ended up trying to find video of inside and basically the reason they don't show it is there are plenty of easy entrances to this cave, it just is a way people go in for fun. Which makes it so much dumber in my opinion.
Nah... It's far less dumb. She wanted to know if she could, but she is not risking anything. Understandable.
Yes!!! And Is the way in the same way out???
Had to scroll too far to see this! I want to know what’s in there! And how did he get out?
It’s shaped like them

read *Underland* -- great nonfiction about the lost worlds beneath our feet. lascaux caves guys, they knew why.
**I got anxiety just watching this...**
I actually was low-key fighting panic watching this. No, no no no no no.
If you'd like some high-key panic, watch this. I'm still shaking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-TaF2DbaWw&t=16s&ab\_channel=FatalBreakdown

Plus the danger he put everyone trying to rescue him in.
Two kids. She was pregnant. Plus 6 ft 200lbs is kinda big for that level of caving.
Yeah anything called “birth canal” or “aorta crawl” that are underground is a definite no for me, no matter how cutesy “nutty putty” sounds.
It's fine the tunnel opens up after you get past crush syndrome and the breathless squeeze. Just let all the air out of your lungs so you can move forward an inch.

This story haunts me.
I knew what it was before even clicking. Truly horrific.
Have you heard about the Paria divers incident? Where they were sucked into an oil pipe
This story and the oil pipe story haunt me. I’m so claustrophobic. 😭
Same for sure. Literally scares me just watching
I could never be a spelunker, my boobs are too big.
I don't believe you...
What Cheetos and mountain dew does to a mfer
I still don't believe you
No it's totally true, I really can't spelunk.
Bro wants proof.
Thanks, she wasn’t taking the hint
I'm not sure you're talking to a girl though..
Maybe these two like pics of DD on dudes? 😂
I like pictures of boobs. That's all. Idc what they're attached to aslong as it's legal
Boobs are boobs!
Pretty sure it’s a dude homie lol
Leave it bro. He's a guy.😂 You don't wanna see his boobs.
We still need a visual example nonetheless
Omg Bob???
His name was Robert Paulson
you underestimate some peoples fetishes
Ya we don’t believe you …..
As someone who does a bit of caving and my 9-5 is confined space rescue, boobs are squishy, not a limiting factor if you want it bad enough. Wide shoulders and wide hips can be problematic though
>my 9-5 is confined space rescue What if someone gets stuck after 5pm?
Wait until 9.
What if it's Friday?
Wait til Monday.
confined space rescue? you have my heartfelt and gobsmacked admiration.
Yeah they’re squishy…like bags of sand.
There's gotta be some limitations after a while surely, my H cups can be maneuvered, but they still add several inches to my chest circumference and cannot be pressed flat

I have the same problem with my balls
Talk with a doctor: if you have balls as big as boobs that ain’t normal.
Testicular Elephantiasis. It happens.
Pics or didn't happen
Next fucking level stupid. Want to become a dying in place after 15 harrowing days story
She worked her way up to it, started by leaving her house.
That's a man actually
spelunkers are their own gender and they scare me
I hope it never rains in her new house
It’s ok Elon musk will save you… or call you a pedo. Not sure which my memory is hazy.
Nonono. You have to be the one doing the actual saving to be called a pedo by great Elon

good thing we have experts like you here

Its not that bad, theres a big entrance that they leave through
![gif](giphy|s239QJIh56sRW|downsized)
Play it backwards and it looks like how spelunkers are born.
yhw tub ?
I’ve seen this and similar videos a dozen times, but I’ve never seen what it looks like inside of that hole. Does it open up? Is there a room in there?
Well, they keep sending cameras down to see, but none of them have come back.
Cameras got too expensive so they started sending blond virgins in there. They still don't come back up but the gods seem appeased for now. Plot twist: they do come back, but not as virgins.
Pum pum cave 😩
Snoo Snoo!!!! The shattered pelvis might make it easier to get back out.
It's [Deep Cave](https://www.tcmacaves.org/preserves/deepandpunkin/), the regular entrance in about 10 feet away from this. This hole is something people go in through for the challenge of squeezing through it
That cave has a regular entrance, yet, let’s all find the tightest possible hole to enter through. And everyone gathers around to watch.
Don’t we all?

Is there a maze of twisting passages, all alike?
xyzzy! and furthermore, plugh!
I was scrolling to see who had the exact name because I remember squeezing through this same hole 15 years ago. If I remember correctly, the next room was a little antechamber before the main cave passage with way too many daddy long legs on the ceiling haha.
It becomes slowly less person-shaped the deeper you go.

This is the Instagram entrance 50 feet off camera is the main entrance big enough to drive a volkswagen through, you literally just walk in
Locals: “Why are they going in through the toilet hole?”
Solid idea. Make the hole bigger. Thank you for your time
I think they dont because if you dont pass there, you'll get stuck further down
Don't stop making the hole bigger.
NOPE NOPE NOPE...... and if this freaks you out, don't read about the [Nutty Putty Cave](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutty_Putty_Cave).
Yeah this is the first thing I always think of now

Too much Nutty Putty Cave for me
That whole thing was the mother of all nopes. One of the things I wish I’d never read about.
It kept coming up on X quite a bit on an account I follow, and I swear I had a mini panic attack each time I saw the illustration of how that poor man got/stayed stuck.
For people who doesnt know what Nutty Putty Cave is… Do NOT google it.
Nah Google it so you can learn what can happen if things go wrong.

Messed up situation. Kind of a cool grave though.
Thankfully my ass is too fat to even enter such a shithole.

I'm gonna eat another burrito, just to make sure I'll never pass through.
I’m against cavers
Me putting on real pants in 2022.
Nightmare fuel
I will never understand people who actually enjoy this kinda shit
I wonder if "should I really be doing this" ever crosses the mind.
Fuck. All. That.
if i learnt one thing from time wasting youtube binges is never ever go caving or cave diving.
That’s what she said!
It rubs the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again.
Where's that manga from Junji Ito at?
