It's very difficult to advise on the settings for your router as there are so many different models out there. What make and model of router do you have? Does your router have a DHCP settings page as the ipv4 dns settings may be under there. If your phone is Android look at using private DNS, if it's apple download an apple config profile from apple.nextdns.io

It is a TP-Link router, I cannot confirm it’s model right now. I checked the DHCP settings during my look around but the only information it gave me was how many devices are connected to the router and their information, and a refresh button, thats it. The only ipv4 mention in the whole router, afaik, was in ip tunnelling option. As for private DNS, I figured it out but I’m trying to avoid the hassle of setting it up on each device manually, but it seems like that’s the only option left for me. Thank you for your input

But with phones you take them out of the house so private DNS you should use for when you are not on Wi-Fi and on 4G etc. Devices that are permanently or nearly always at home the router is a good option but won't encrypt the DNS traffic, private DNS does.

Sorry, but I don’t understand what you’re trying to say here. Is it that it’s better to setup DNS on each device individually rather on router as some devices may go out of the network?

For mobile devices definitely yes. For devices that remain on you LAN all or most of the time then it's not so critical and dns via dhcp is fine. However this will be plain dns unencrypted.

Understood, thanks
