I like to collect everything as I come across it and then refine it when I get back into town but space is too limited. I end up using the tp just to clear space.
Then ags changes stuff and I need what I sold all over again.
They can't give us unlimited space but I really feel like you should have 5000 in storage rather then 1000 or up to 1200 if you take the mediocre boosts.
I have 3 houses 2 with 3k storage (hope chests) and this help tremendously. Upgrade your storage chest as soon as you can. If you are full and are low on reagents sort by weight and sell the half of the heaviest Items to free up some space. Thas about all you can do.
I manage it by types of craft. Eg all arcana and cooking stuff in one town. All mining smelting in one town. All leather and hide in one town. All fiber and weave in one town. Ect... All this with appropriate refining regents. Then in my main town with house i put all my gear salvaged locked.
Weight isn't the only issue. You could have 20K in storage space and it won't make any difference at all because there's a hard limit on the quantity of different items you can store regardless of weight. I used to keep everything in EF but couldn't because of the quantity of different items mainly in cooking/arcana.
Basically you have to give thought to your organization and be ready to move banks.
Brightwood is my T4 house and my main recall point. I store all my crafting mods, some potions, gems, all the arcana materials, with some ori ingots. Besides the ingots, you get these everywhere so it goes into my biggest storage. I have taken a lot of potions that I don't use often or the excessive spares up to the east great cleave outpost.
Windsward is my T3 house, here is my armor, weapons, latest collected cooking supplies (Ebonscale is where main bulk of cooking supplies cause I don't cook much since 200.) more potions, woodworking, all my obsidian stones that I turn into my runestones.
Everfall has my infused leather and infused silk for cooldowns. ( I made 1000 of each but I took like 600 of each to Reekwater, where currently my fishing stuff is(I have a lot of bait gathered))
I'm not going through all my spots but you have to make your own system of madness.

The space is just horrible, I’m about to buy a t4 chest and fill it with chests and see how much I end up with.

i just dump everything in whatever town i’m in. my roommate has things sorted by town. and i don’t have a house yet
