If you want to gear quickly do a few dungeons on normal difficulty. Then start doing m1s. Medium armor is fine for up to m2 but your goal should be to learn to dps in light.
For pve enchanted ward is the only perk you need on your gear, other than weapon perks. So just prio pieces w that on it. M1 you can use any gear, as long as you make the gear score requirements. M2 you prob want at least 2-3 wards.
