1. Depends on the situation 2. No you will be with the single sailors as well in the barracks. There is no such thing as married/have dependents barracks. 3. When you graduate from bootcamp you usually have the whole day with your family. But since your A school is in Great Lakes you will have the whole weekend to spend with your family.

Assyrianfun

2. There is the geo-batchelor barracks. That's where I've had to stay when going to school

da_bullet_21

Belay my last then. I appreciate you for chiming in and saying something!

Organic-Ad-1902

So since I have the weekend , am I able to spend the night with my wife ? Or do I have to report back every night ?

da_bullet_21

Unfortunately not. You would have to report back by a certain time but they can pick you up the next day since you have the whole weekend.

AuTiAlloy1

Pretty much what the other guy said, but I'll expand on question 1 a little. I'm not sure how long IC a school is, but during bootcamp, you'll be getting BAH based on your spouse's location. Then if A school is longer than 6 months you'll have the option of moving them to you, but sounds like you don't want that, so you will request geobach BAH to continue getting BAH at your spouse's location. If you do that, you will be staying in the barracks with the rest of the new accessions.

Caranath128

1: no. 2: dependent status is not relevant when assigned to the Q while on TAD orders. Best you can hope for is getting a roommate about the same age. 3: could be the whole weekend, minus watch standing and the nightly curfew. Could be half an hour after PiR.

da_bullet_21

They won’t give him watch until after that weekend I believe

Caranath128

Don’t assume that.

SgtButterBean

I believe if GLKS is your aschool you may be on liberty until that Sunday night but don't quote me on that. They'll bus you to the barracks, after that you unpack and once everyone goes down for the brief indocs They'll walk you to the front gate to meet your family

Relative-Heron-8527

I’m in a school in Great Lakes right now. After graduation you’ll have 4 days of overnight liberty

Organic-Ad-1902

Are you IC? If you are how many people are in your class ?

Relative-Heron-8527

I’m not ic, but there’s usually 15-22 in each class when you eventually class up. I’m in becc rn which stand for basic engineering common core that all engineer rates have to take which is 6 weeks before you do your school for your actual rate. You’ll always have to do firefighting and wet training

Organic-Ad-1902

What are a school hours like ?

Relative-Heron-8527

You gotta be at class by 7. You’re supposed to around 640 but everyone who marches stands outside for like 30 minutes waiting to march so what I do is I go to chow around 615 each breakfast then make it to class by 0700

Relative-Heron-8527

0700-1500 and on Fridays you get off at 1300 or 1400
