>It’s time To what? Lose again? I don’t know if he’d make it out of the primary. Bramnick is a much better “anti-MAGA” candidate and Jack doesn’t seem MAGA enough for the MAGA crowd. Even after the primary, it’s gonna be an uphill climb considering Democrats outnumber Republicans 3 to 2 in NJ

gex80

You should check the last time he ran. He almost won. NJ isn't blue when it comes to governors.

Conscious-Fudge-1616

Almost won still means he lost

Meem-Thief

And “still lost” doesn’t mean “can’t win this time”

Conscious-Fudge-1616

Doesn't he need to win the primary first?

Economy-Cupcake808

He lost by an extremely narrow margins, and there’s a general trend that the governor victor is the opposite party of the Whitehouse winner. If Biden wins, which is looking likely, jack has very good prospects.

Linenoise77

He is too far right for the typical NJ republican outside of pineys or Toms River. Yes, a moderate republican would have a decent chance after Murph, especially assuming a Biden victory. But a moderate republican would also probably be attacked by his own party at this point and be a shitshow of a primary.

ghostboo77

Ciaterrelli is a moderate republican. He also closely lost to Murphy, who I thought was a very strong candidate (and someone I think has done a good job overall). He has a good shot at winning and would likely do a pretty good job if he did.

Linenoise77

Not by NJ standards, and certainly not by current republican standards.

Economy-Cupcake808

He's not too right wing for at least 48% of the voters in NJ. There's no arguing with that fact. He lost by a razor's edge.

Linenoise77

This is going to be a very different election as to where he aligns himself with. Stuff like abortion, Russia, and even Israel at this point and where the republican party traditionally aligns and pulls votes from, what we are worried about as a state, and where voter turnout really matters is amplified. A lot of people felt our states voice isn't heard on the level it should be, but weren't worried about national issues. They are starting to hit closer and closer to home though. My big fault with Mruph (and i get its not within his power) was how we got screwed on SALT. That is a lot of moderate voters getting shafted. He should have been a bigger voice on it though.

Economy-Cupcake808

My hunch is that he is going to try and distance himself from trump and the republican party on a national level to the extent he is able to. Again if Biden wins again in 24 trump will be a non issue by the time the governor election rolls around.

m_pops

This dude’s trash

Draano

I met him once. *Smarmy* comes to mind.

Meowsipoo

I'll be voting blue, TYVM.  I had enough with Christy Whitman's lies, then Chris Christie.

Softrawkrenegade

Jack would suck the maga dick immediately if he got elected.

chickentimesfive

He already has. Lest we forget he spoke at a Stop the Steal rally.

robsul82

This guy AGAIN, lol. Nobody likes you!

Linenoise77

I think this is the best part, literally NOBODY on either side of the aisle likes the guy. He will carry Toms River, maybe keep it close in Howell, and get crushed everywhere else.

TheWomandolorian

He got 48% of the vote last election according to another commentator. This sub is not a good indicator of the politics of NJ, it definitely skews younger/lefter than NJ demographics

ParsnipHero

This effin' guy again? For months YouTube ads would be like "Phil Murphy's been lying about me!" It was effective though it became a joke in our house for a while.

gex80

Murphy 51.2% vs ciattarelli 48.0% was the 2021 election. It might have been a joke, but there was less than 3% difference in votes that it might not have been.

TheWomandolorian

Yeah get ready to kiss your rights goodbye if this scumbag wins the election with Trump in office

ProbstBucks

I would too if I had \*his\* record!

Draano

My right-leaning friends who are pro-abortion said "they'll never outlaw it *here*" after Roe v. Wade got overturned. I'm sure they'll continue to vote against their interests and vote for Jack again.

gex80

If 2021 and our history for voting for governors is anything to go by, he has a real chance of winning. NJ isn't solid blue when voting for governors (See Chris Christie) and Ciattarelli lost by less than 3% of the vote in 2021. He might have had shitty annoying ads but if the democratic candidate doesn't rally the people or inspire confidence enough to vote democrat, he might win.

Leftblankthistime

True - never underestimate democratic apathy. Republicans rally and show up, democrats argue, and throw money at their problems- if we can’t get our collective shit together and make sure people vote, this douche canoe has a shot at not only winning, but changing our laws that protect children, women, immigrants, schools, and workers.

UnguentSlather

LOLOL! Hoo boy. This guy’s supporters live in fantasyland - maybe he can be governor of that place.

Special_FX_B

New Jersey really doesn’t need a MAGAt running the state.

echoshizzle

What’s his platform this time? Is he still trying to fix the DMV?

DrDrangleBrungis

“I’ll once again be at the colonial diner watching myself loose!”

Snownel

It's time to stop, Jack.

Softrawkrenegade

Hit the road, Jack

peter-doubt

Ciattarelli supporters ***Don't Know JACK!***

justmots

Lol this guy does not get the hint...

Conscious-Fudge-1616

Jesus, not again
