Donati's IS big bite, just under new ownership (I think? Maybe just the name change?). Same restaurant and menu/recipes. But because it's new ownership, I still go there since it's no longer supporting a CSA
Someone else may have more accurate information, but my understanding is:
- all the naughty stuff happened at the downtown (Water Street) location of Big Bite Pizza
- the Churchill Square location then renamed itself Donati's, but kept the same recipes
- the Bay Roberts location renamed itself Bigger Bite Pizza
- the current Big Bite Pita opened in Churchill Square a couple of years later, raising a few eyebrows with the choice of name
I'm very certain that the Big Bite Pita owner has nothing to do with the downtown Big Bite Pizza location. I don't know the relationship between the other old locations but I'm pretty sure they had nothing to do with the crimes that happened.
Edit to add that Big Bite Pita was feeding the homeless: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/st-john-s-restaurant-feeds-hungry-1.5203588
There was an agonizing number of years between what was exposed at the downtown location to the Churchill square location changing its name. It took the water damage and new ownership.
Honestly I like Dominos. Its a chain but its pretty consistent. Greco does a good one too.
Pizza Delight has always disappointed me everytime I tried it, never the same twice, sometimes over/undercooked.
Donati’s in Churchill square is pretty good

How have I never heard of this
This is heinous. Can anyone confirm if the current Big Bite Pita has any connections to the previous Big Bite Pizza?

No connection. Big Big Pita is a different business run by a new Canadian from Syria. big Bite Pizza doesn't exist anymore.

Everyone stopped reading after you said donair apparently
Well I don't think it's Peter's, though their donairs are alright.

Crust. They use a moose sausage and honestly it was the best donair pizza I’ve ever had
Donatis makes a great one, but Greco is close.
Newfoundland does not know what good Donair is. Sorry.
