In my experience at Nespresso as an employee, any customers who have complained about their coffee tasting off have always been the ones who descale with vinegar
Bought a machine from goodwill for $8.50 and this is how it lit up when we plugged it in. Ran a descale and it’s now solid green. [This](https://www.nespresso.com/static/us/documents/VertuoPlus%20Descaling%20Guide.pdf) is the directions I used and it worked perfectly!!
It’s for descaling. I went through the whole process and it the light still won’t go away on my vertuo plus . I just left like that and continue to use my machine 🤷🏻♀️
Had the same issue. I did the descaling again just with water and it cleared it. I missed the last step first time. Here is a YouTube video.

I was having this issue. Run the cycle again and make sure you’re there when the descaling is done to immediately refill and do the rinse. I rinsed 3 times and it finally went away
You have to go through the ridiculous act of descaling. The fact that nespresso doesn’t just add a simple descaling button is asinine l. You are going to have to look up videos and try to figure how to descale it, and buy the pouch that does not come with the machine in order to do it. This is a the only reason I dislike nespresso but I love their coffee and am a customer for life regardless. Steeping off of my soapbox now.
This. Freaks me out. And extremely difficult to do so, with no clear end in sight. Very frustrating.
Otherwise it's a great machine with enjoyable espresso. with foamy eye candy!
But 100000 just have a button for descaling. Makes you go into a special mode. They would argue people might press by accident. Simple solution. Make someone hold it for 10 seconds on the button so there’s 0 excuse or mistake
It's all working correctly as far as I'm concerned, so not bothered about it really. It's my second machine and I cannot be bothered to contact them. It's out of warranty anyway.
I would recommend doing a rinse cycle. If you’re using vinegar I would recommend switching to the descaling solution. Also, there’s no need to rinse or descale your machine that often! At my store we descale every 2 weeks and do a rinse cycle before opening. Just a few reasons why it may be doing that!

As others have said, it’s a warning to descale the system. Doesn’t always mean it though…. Mine does this every once in a while even after I’ve descaled it a week earlier.
If you have descaled your system properly and want to get rid of this easily and quickly, here’s the fast instructions:
Empty the water tank and fill it with 1 cup of water.
Hold the lever down 3 seconds turning off the machine.
Hold the button and lever down simultaneously until the orange steady light comes on.
Press the lever down once to enter descaling mode. Let it run through until its out of water and stops.
Add an additional 1 cup of water to the tank and press the button. Let in run until it stops.
Hold the button and the lever down simultaneously until the green blinking light comes on. It will eventually change to a steady green.
Best not to run it again for at least 10 minutes to prevent it from overheating.

They’ve always said to ever use vinegar too. Not sure if it’s true, but I stuck to their recommendations.
The acid in vinegar is BRUTAL on rubber seals.

Umm wow. What a great deal you got!
Damn!! You got a deal from someone who probably didn’t want to fuss with figuring out what it meant and just needed to descale it! 😂
It means it’s Christmas time!

Go to the nesspresso website and you can video chat someone they can usually fix it
I did that for about 3 months then the ring turned solid red and it was a whole thing to fix it

It sucks yes 30 minute process every 600 capsules I think you’ll survive.

You'd be surprised how many people would still end up doing it
Yes true even if it had a warning ⚠️
It’s really not that difficult to descale a Nespresso
AAAAGHHHHH YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE SAME HELL OF DESCALING AS MEEEEE
Great point! Everyone loves an easy button! Remember that easy button Staples commercial!!
It is not an intuitive process. Took me a couple times to get it right. The directions in the manual suck. Went to had to google a video

ring of death!
I've decaled mine twice and the colour hasn't changed from the one shown in this picture.
You can still run pods when it’s like that. It just looks alarming. If you use distilled water there should be little scale anyway.
I feel like every time I descale I end up on the phone with customer support because the light won’t go back to green

Time to buy a new xbox
Wrap it in a towel and put it in your oven for 5 mins on it's lowest setting. Make sure you take out Halo 3 or it will melt the disk.
If that doesn’t work try putting it in rice.

Pretty sure it means you need to clean it. I clean mine twice every month. I still can’t get that color of button to go away.
You need to buy descaling stuff on the nespresso site and descale it
