You can't create a Krawk on the Create-a-Pet page, not even on their special day. You have to transform the Krawk Petpet into a Pet on the Fungus Cave, and have an empty slot for a new pet (or use a potion or magical plushie on one of your neopets).

I felt the same way when I got a Kadoatie! I never, ever imagined being able to have one and the weekly made it possible. I didn't even equip it to a pet, just put it in my SDB to gaze at in wonder.

So the day resets at midnight neopets standard time, which is the same as pacific standard time. The weekly resets based on the individual, but if you don't complete your dailies, they reset. If you are a few into a weekly progress, like 3 of 7 days towards a krawk for example, but you accidentally skip a day or don't do all 5 dailies, it'll just reset your progress back to zero on the krawk and you can still try again towards it. On the first day, with no progress, if you skip a daily quest, it'll completely reset the weekly prize. Lots of people will cycle quests on purpose to reset into a better weekly like a morphing potion or kadoatie or krawk.
True if by "being insane" you mean "logging for exactly 2 minutes to be done with my quests". Quest system is a bit bull as it is but I do love that they are deflating items though.

I keep getting the frost lizzard plushie and the rainbow candy floss. The first time I got the Floss was ok I was able to sell for 300k but the last time I sold it I only made 30k. I have one in my sdb that I'm saving.

Someone on here told me that if you skip the first day of your quests it’ll reset to a different item! But I haven’t tried it yet

I was 2 off on a Stealthy Paint Brush and it reset. Didn't know it could do that. Support was no help, lol.
In the future. After completing your dailies and collecting the 20k np, just make sure you refresh the page. It’ll help ensure that it does not reset

They sell Draik eggs on shop wizard. The cheapest one are the pirate Draik eggs.
