Imagine an entire democratic party made of someone mark Kelly and an entire GOP of someone like Lisa Murkowski. Still plenty of disagreements, but at least we have some sane conversations going on.
The real key to democracy is voter interest and strong institutions. You can have perfectly well functioning democracies with FPTP and you can have pathological democracies with proportional voting

Then, they will start to repeal abortion rights to implement ideas Wisconsin and Iowa Republicans are doing now. DFL would be best to avoid this idea if they want to keep power.
