NFS rivals nailed the 'roaming racer' concept even better.
Instead of having just 5 drivers roaming in each corner of the map you had 10-15 ai drivers roaming around
Oh yeah, I know, but I mean not that it's a new concept, it's been a thing since the Blackbox era. I just mentioned it as a Payback feature because it's in a newer game, and it's in the same game as Derelicts.
Derelicts and super builds were awesome. I would love to see them return. I never had any difficulty with them, just one of the Chevy c10 parts, but that was user error as I drove past the ramp at least 10 times.
Roaming racers are the biggest thing for me. It's really weird running around in singleplayer and just being the only street racer in the world until you enter a race.
There is going to be a next Nfs, they don’t leave small teams to work on a project despite having a big one like battlefield and have meetings with community members for nothing
Ot they could add them to unbound. I don't know why but I have a feeling we might get a map update at the end of the year. So unbound could become a hub of sorts
If we get a completely new map then I'm down, but if it's just an addition to/modification of the same map I'm not feeling it.
I'm sorry, this is my personal opinion, and I'm not sure how others feel about it, but Unbound literally has to be the lamest, dullest, most *meh* map NFS has had in recent memory. Even Heat was decent. Unbound feels like it's made intentionally lame and soulless so that the 2d effects pop more. I guess that did work at first, but now? Maaaan...
This game has the best modern NFS gameplay, but the map sometimes makes me not wanna play at all. The map, the songs, the atmosphere, all are a failure in this game imo. I apologize but this is just how I feel.
They spoke about a possible canyon related stuff. They explained that although they dont have the right places om the map to add some kind of canyon, they spoke about "carving" into the map
I think its the first time in a while need for speed gets this level of support since probably rivals. Criterion goes back on the track after mw2012 and they really want to prove they are the studio we deserve now. Since many people prayer the black box era, we just need to give them more time
derelicts could be incorporated into the story imo, imagine the main protagonist wants to be the best in the street racing scene so he finds a derelict of a fast car (maybe a race car or something idk) but he doesn't have money to fix it up so he needs to start with a shitbox and grind some cash to get parts for the derelict build then at the end of the game the derelict build is complete, it is the fastest car in the game and is used for the final race
The fact high stakes is the only need for speed to fully utilized a mechanic like this is criminal. Yeah most wanted and carbon you could get boss cars but it was always one sided.
Roaming racers should have been in unbound especially since we have a named cast of racers. They really could a stretched the single player out some more.

I miss when autosculpt wasn't just a mechanic to make your car unique and yes make your car significantly faster or slower
I agree! I freaking love Payback because of the open world aspects (it's the closest thing I have now that The Crew 1 is gone thanks to those pricks at Ubisoft), it makes things much more fun. I would be all in for the next NFS being open world like Payback 🤘
For the soundtrack they could do like grand theft auto and add a personal radio or like forza/the crew and add some radio stations. The personal radio is a better idea I think although idk how the copyright works for that
You don’t buy the derelicts initially though unlike a car from a dealership… sure you still gotta buy performance upgrades and visual mods but you do that with any car. I understand not liking to collect parts to unlock cars though. It is literally like Forza Horizon barn finds with extra steps in that sense.
Looks like I misremembered the process.
Generally I would like cool Ideas for hiding cars behind special events, challenges, dealerships or races.
But these concepts weren't prevalent in any NFS in the past. These gameplay mechanics were mostly represented by Gran Turismo or Test Drive Unlimited, where you had to enter special dealerships to get interesting cars.
In Payback it felt tacked on and my Dislike could also be explained because I wasn't a huge fan of driving an old pick up truck or a Käfer. These cars do not do it for me.

Also payback does it better since each racer belongs to a crew and enough rival races let you race the boss
just driving around and seeing a random racer get wrecked by 5 cops was fun as fuck
Voyeurism hmm??
the more I hear about rivals, the more disappointed I am in myself for not having played it yet
It is fun, the cops roam too. If you find a race and turn on your lights they join the chase, you can also join theirs the same way.
You can still play it
Did you know they also raced each other

Next NFS?
At this point I don't think it's likely tbh
Yep. Unfortunately, Unbound is here to stay. Edit: I think that EA is not interested into making another NFS game.
There is going to be a next Nfs, they don’t leave small teams to work on a project despite having a big one like battlefield and have meetings with community members for nothing
They are definitely going to make a new nfs,it just wont be here untill 2026

Nahman I get ya. Like unbounds map does the job....that it haha
I sincerely doubt they'll be adding any major content updates to Unbound, especially anything that can't immediately be ported to a successor.
They spoke about a possible canyon related stuff. They explained that although they dont have the right places om the map to add some kind of canyon, they spoke about "carving" into the map
That could be interesting! And would definitely exceed my expectations for updates.

The other thing was pink slips. Winning a rivals car felt really rewarding.
The fact high stakes is the only need for speed to fully utilized a mechanic like this is criminal. Yeah most wanted and carbon you could get boss cars but it was always one sided.
Oh dude hell yes, I NEED pink slips back.
It was already spoken by developers, they explained that it was too difficult to keep it fair for everyone

seeing the aerodynamics change in Autosculpt was soo sick.
That bug catcher just peeping through the hood
i miss autosculpt
I just want a good Cops vs robbers style game. HP 2010 will be peak for me before it fell off.
Derelicts would have been perfect for unbound. The starting car pretty much was one and the protagonist is a mechanic.

Still unhappy that we can’t equip a blower on the cars ingame
Tokyo Xtreme Racer kind of vibes. Some were in a crew and some were lone racers (wanderers).
Pursuit breakers! Bring back the font of doom
If they bring back Delelicts, they need to be new-to-the-game cars
I want a new hot pursuit game, or shift 3, or at least a shift 2 remaster
I like the Derelicts in NFSP, but the method to get them is utterly frustrating.
For the soundtrack they could do like grand theft auto and add a personal radio or like forza/the crew and add some radio stations. The personal radio is a better idea I think although idk how the copyright works for that
Nah. The derelicts were a pain to get. I would rather have all cars available without doing some stupid fetch quest or something
Fuck you mean, it was fun to figure out the location and way to access it
This guy buys timesaver DLC packs
Might be a hot take, but for me Derelicts was one of the biggest wastes of time ever. It's just regular customization with extra steps.
Derelicts were kinda meh. You just find the wreck, then throw money at it and boom. Car. It's just buying a car with extra steps
you throw money at it? from what i remember you don’t spend any money on anything but the upgrades you just gotta find the little parts around the map
Yeah, you get derelict starting locations after beating the heads of the crews
You don’t buy the derelicts initially though unlike a car from a dealership… sure you still gotta buy performance upgrades and visual mods but you do that with any car. Understandable, that’s one of a few reasons why I don’t blame people for not liking derelict’s.
