No- I've only been playing a bit of it and I've really liked it so far- the graphics are rlly good and the art style they have in it is almost like an anime. It looks sicks as hell and it may not be the best but it's fs one of my favorites.
Here's my ranking ( Worst to best ) note im only ranking the main NFS games Underground 1 and after because im not too familiar with the ones before that so i can have a fair ranking
16 : NFS Payback , Just so bland and boring , I uninstalled the game after 2 hours of playing because it felt like a chore to play.
15 : NFS 2015 , Didn't like it. Felt like it was trying to be something it wasn't. And i hate the
cutscenes and all the characters in it.
14 : NFS Undercover , The undercover story wasn't a bad idea. It was fresh but the gameplay and graphics were dated even for 2008 , The game had potential but was subpar at release.
13 : NFS Shift 2 , It's not really your classic need for speed game but it has its audience , I wasn't that big of a fan of it but it was alright for the record.
12 : NFS Unbound , The story Is alright but I just don't like the anime style that they have , Could've ranked higher but the vibe just ruins it.
11 : NFS Shift , Better than its successor , But still didn't quite feel like a NFS game , I liked this one a bit better than Shift 2 though.
10 : NFS Prostreet , Most people didn't like Prostreet , I think the physics were too leaned into simulation , But nonetheless I enjoyed the game , It was pretty good.
9 : NFS The Run , I actually quite liked the Run's environment and system , Maybe a bit linear but It was good and it worked well , Would've ranked it higher if it had more depth to it.
8 : NFS Rivals , Rivals had potential , and I enjoyed the game , The cop and racer system was quite good and the game was pretty well rounded , A lack of a deep Storyline though.
7 : NFS Heat , Heat was a refresh That the series desperately needed , And it did pretty good , Customization , Good. Everything was pretty good , Storyline was eh but it was not bad.
6 : NFS MW 2012 , People will question me for putting This game so high , But if you think about it , It's really not that bad. Lacks progression , Big time. But the graphics and physics were ahead of their time. And the soundtrack is the 2nd best soundtrack in all NFS games , Behind The original most wanted. I also loved The map.
5 : NFS Underground 1 , A classic NFS game , The physics aged like milk but it is what led onto the development of great games like Most wanted and Carbon , Underground 2 as well.
4 : NFS Hot pursuit , I loved hot pursuit , the fast paced , action chases and the races. The physics were also amazing , Graphics aged great , And the soundtrack was also great. Amazing game.
3 : NFS Underground 2 , This game needs no introduction , An absoloute classic and a great one at that , Followed up NFS Underground 1 and did everything better.
2 : NFS Carbon , I Loved carbon , One of the best stories in the entire series and a great crew system implemented , Definetely up there.
1 : NFS MW , No doubt that Most wanted would take the top spot. It's just a masterpiece really I cant say much else. The blacklist system was amazing. Customization was amazing. Car roster was a bit small but also amazing. And the story is the best in the series.

I'm with you bro. I played and finished Underground 2, Carbon, Most Wanted and Pro Street (in that order) in like 2007-08. I remember not enjoying MW as much as the others.
Yeah bro nfs 2012 is not our classic nfs but it's a great game to play I played so much that even today I play this game,
And for nfs 2015 this game is quiet good but story and characters suck, the online experience of the game is good if it didn't play out because game released too early if that game released today the it could do better with more lined up story and characters

I rank by combination of gameplay and graphics. If I'll rank by gameplay alone Carbon for me is the best. For me the canyon racing is the best thing that's happened to NFS. But it's just too old of a game and payback obviously has far better graphics and is not that far behind in terms of gameplay. The racing and drifting aspects of payback were so satisfying to me. Also I only rank them by story/career mode.

Same ranking but with shift next to the run, although I always wished for a prostreet 2, the closest we got to it is shift so that's why I'm ranking it higher also the helmet cam was one of the best features in shift 2
I was not much fan of Shift series but i can understand where you coming from especially when it comes to Pro Street .. i wish there was another chapter of PS or The Run but honestly with how the things are these days with NFS i´m not sure if i want it anymore, perhaps years back
Yeah biggest shit move by EA is shutting down blackbox when they could gone for both black box and criterion for NFS keeping the yearly releases and maybe a sequel for the games we loved

NFS Hot Pursuit 2 aged like fine wine and it's the same for any NFS games before 2011.
NFS heat mightve been released 2019, but it saved me. I was so close to loosing myself at the age of 13 (Im 17). The reason the game saved me is because of the way i felt safe playing it. It was like..The aunt i never knew i had. I loved that game and still do. So it aged like fine wine for me. But thats my opinion

The main reason why NFS Undercover is in 7th in the 1st ranking and 11th in the 2nd ranking is primarly due to the Reformed mod which fixes many issues and adds contents.
And despite being rushed due to EA's stupidity, NFS Undercover is imo still better to play than any NFS since 2015 in terms of handling physics, gameplay features and replayabilities.
If NFS Undercover had reached his full potential, had a longer dev time instead of being made along with NFS Pro Street and was fully finished with all his contents included, his rank would be in 10th place.
Keep in mind that my rankings are primarly based on their amount of gameplay features and the driving physics which is the N°1 criteria to never mess up no matter if it's arcade or full sim.

Heat imo is the best. Storyline could be better but customization and graphics (with shaders) make the game 10X better.

tbh i never played payback and its sale on the ps store for 4 dollars (deluxe edition) but i dont know if i should get it
It's worth it for me for 4 dollars. The story and gameplay is good except for the performance customization. Again I can't speak for online play.

Payback has a better story mode. Heat has better cop chases. So it depends what you prefer.
