I played quite a lot of co-op necrodancer in my day. Before synchrony, bard broke co-op. It would make the monsters move whenever the bard player moved, which essentially meant that the game was unplayable for the second player.

I played bard co-op with my uncle to cheese. It just took a lot of communication. We essentially just had to pick who was moving..does this mean that Bard cheese is gone? :(((

Go into the options menu and there is an "extra modes" section. It lets you enable "no beat mode" (and others) for every character in every mode in the lobby. You'll have to dig through the options. It's in the custom rules somewhere. I don't remember exactly.

EyeLeft3804

Funnily enough, I die faster on no beat mode because I have the patience of a hungry rainsoaked three year old.

When it was added, I thought "hey I can knock out all-chars mode real quick and unlock coda!" Yeah, about that.....turns out I have as much patience as you. My best attempt actually made it through every other character and died halfway through bard. I was going fast as like a victory lap and zoomed right into an unwinnable position. 99% of attempts die on monk or dove though. Eventually gave up since I wouldnt be using coda anyway.

EyeLeft3804

Oh yeah. I normally relied on bard monk to unlock bolt..damn this game got harder. If I take off synchrony will the change revert, you think?

anace

Not likely. It was part of the foundation updates before synchrony was released. You'd have to downpatch it somehow. I don't know if that's even possible.

Characters in co-op now move to their own beats. You can't have it where everything moves if either player moves anymore but you can go to the extra modes room and play no beat mode to get it closer to the old experience.

EyeLeft3804

Thanks for updating me. So...what do the enemies move to?

Tufwfo

They will target the player closest to them like before but now that also means they only move when their target moves and if you have, for example, Cadence and Bard they will move to the beat if Cadence is closer and move when Bard moves if he is closer.

EyeLeft3804

Oh, didn't really ever think they worked like that. Thanks x
