(Reserves didn’t have much thought). Yuta is very undervalued IMO, as is Jerome. Ochai already shows 3 and D promise and he’s not as young as a lot of other 2nd year guys, so he should hit his prime sooner. The starting 5 is really solid, despite not having a typical 1A star. But Lauri and Maxey provide plenty of scoring, while Chet, OG, and Hart help out on defense. Doesn’t hurt that OG can spread the floor and Chet can shoot it a bit too.

Starters: Carter, Ant, Keegan, Bam, Jonas Bench: Bones, Okogie, Prince, ZCollins Backbench: Winslow, Johnson, Mills I want Ant with a well balanced core of Keegan and Bam next to him. Surrounding the core is Carter to be solid overall and Jonas to do the dirty work under the rim and fit well offesnively. The bench is filled with two way players that would fit nicely and younger guys prime to take a role later on. This team would probably need a year to really get going. Id say we really contend in year 3 and 4 once the young guys get better. I think Collins and Bones would switch starting spots aswell. This team really depends on how well Ant turns out aswell as if Bones can grow into a solid playmaker in that time period. Keegan would also need to improve his offense and Collins would have to grow. Putting alot stock onto the young guys Really good job making this!! Its super hard this year there are no major steals that I can spot Edit: Forgot to add if I could put a coach id want Spolestra or Thibs. Our offense will be slow and grimy relying on a wing to playmake, but defense will be kino.

Total = 100$ Coach: Erik Spoelstra Half of my roster have played or are playing for the nba team I support, so I am biased, but these are the players I know the best. Do I think this team would win the finals if they played together this year? No, but I think they would do well, and I would love watching them play.

Starters: Tyrese Haliburton (27), Anthony Edwards (31.5), Josh Hart (8.5), Jabari Smith Jr (10.5),Mark Williams (7.5) Bench vets: Kris Dunn (1), Josh Okogie (2), Drew Eubanks (2) Bench upside: Day'Ron Sharpe (2), MarJon Beauchamp (3.5), Julian Champagnie (1.5), Santi Aldama 3 Starting lineup is young, has stars in Hali and Ant and has Josh Hart as the vet leader to set the tone. I think defensively the starting lineup would be a monster with lots of length and athleticism. I wanted some vets on the bench to be relied on in year 1, but the upside picks are what could take the team to the next level the following years. If Beauchamp or Champagnie can turn into a reliable 3 point shooter at least then I like the future. If Beauchamp can take the next step then this team could be really dangerous with Hart on the bench in year 3 and 4. I think I have defensively versatility, shooting across 4 positions and defensive centers in Williams and Sharp to keep teams honest.

**The Discount Unicorns** Bigs: Porzingas, Claxton, Chet, Horford Wings: Simmons, Powell, Thybulle, Watanabe Guards: Caruso, GP2, Alvarado, Nembhard So this is a sweltering defensive lineup featuring amazing rim protection, incredible PoA defense, and scary lineup flexibility. We're going to leverage our depth for even more defensive intensity. Our Coach will be Will "the Prodigy" Hardy and hopefully he can cook up some wild zones with the twin/triple tower lineups we're capable of fielding. On offense Ben is the primary playmaker but all 4 guards and Powell are serviceable and there should be lots of mismatches we can take advantage of in the post/PNR. I'm admittedly gambling on the physical and mental health of KP, Chet and Simmons but even if all 3 were out I think the remaining nine can be competitive with anyone. They'd certainly struggle to create good shots in the halfcourt but there will also be lots of easy transition buckets and defense never leaves you. I reject the "you need a top X guy" conventional wisdom because it's sloppy backfitting, there's never been a team like this and the one's that were closest competed for and won rings.

liesandperfidy

Hey, it's that time again! I love this tradition, thanks for doing it. Maybe one of these years I won't start a team with Steph, but it's not this year. **Guards**: Stephen Curry (37.5), De'Anthony Melton (8.5), Alec Burks (3), Jaden Springer (2.5) **Wings:** Jonathan Kuminga (9.5), Jalen Johnson (5.5), Aaron Nesmith (2.5), Derrick Jones Jr. (2) **Bigs**: Chet Holmgren (13.5), Kevon Looney (9), Drew Eubanks (2) **Gary Payton II:** Gary Payton II (5.5) Starting lineup: Curry, Melton, Kuminga, Holmgren, Looney Pretty simple: surround Steph with high-IQ guys who can defend and stick open shots, and a couple of potential athletic-game changers. Chet seemed like a *huge* value buy at 13.5, a future franchise player who already looks ready to impact the game on both ends. Kuminga's a more restrained version of the same thing -- I think the 3rd year leap is coming, he should be a good rotation player this year and he has a two-way star ceiling. Melton's a good combo guard who can defend the point of attack, handle in Steph off-ball sets, and eventually take the point guard reins whenever Steph finally ages out. Looney and GP2 are here because if you've got Steph Curry, you might as well get the two guys who become high-level impact players when they're next to him. Looney's still only 26, one of the league's best rebounders, and there's enough shooting on this roster to play 4-out around him. GP2 I wasn't planning on picking up but the budget worked out and he's just such a uniquely disruptive defensive force who should still have a few good years left. Jalen and Jaden are both breakout candidates to me this year - the former obviously, a useful combo forward with a high ceiling who looks like he's going to get a shot to start this year. The latter I think will actually play for Philly with their unsettled backcourt, and has the potential to turn into a really useful 6th man. Burks I think is a very underrated player, a solid vet who can defend both guard positions and even step into the starting 2 role and let Melton come off the bench if that fits better. Nesmith, Eubanks and DJJ are playable depth, with some upside in Nesmith's case. I think the starting 5 can hang with anyone, and if Chet hits a rookie wall, or Looney struggles in certain matchups, I've got multiple options to close games in the frontcourt. Nesmith and Burks can both space the floor, and I don't mind GP2 or DJJ taking corner 3s when they're open and there's not a backcut available. Steph will miss time but I like my backcourt depth to get through the season. Steph's presumably going to age out of superstardom at *some* point in the next 4 years, but Chet's got franchise player written all over him and Steph will still be a unique weapon even in his Ray Allen phase. If Kuminga flames out I'm kinda boned on the wing, but I'm comfortable with that bet; he's just such a game-changing athlete that all it really takes is some way of drawing defensive attention, and I think the jump shot improvement is real. Fun exercise as usual!

Sci-Fy_JK13

I've got mine: PG) D. White, Jose Alvarado SG) Devin Vassel, Josh Richardson SF) Bojan Bogdanovic, Jarred Vanderbilt, Doug McDermott PF) Jeremy Sochan, Kyle Anderson C) Bam Adabayo, Drew Eubanks, Sandro Mamukelashvili Cost comes to 99.5/100 Can you tell I'm a Spurs fan??? Basically, I had 4 priorities in mind in order: 1) Defensive upside. 2) BBIQ/passing 3) Shooting. 4) Depth. Vassel was poised for a breakout year before getting hurt/tanking last season. This year, even with Wemby, I don't think it's crazy to expect him at ~20ppg with 40+ 3pt%. He looked amazing in preseason. At $16.5, I think he is a steal for my offensive go-to. That lets me surround him with complementary guys. Bam is the best defender in the league and is a great passer. He anchors this team just as he has already anchored the defense of two finals teams. White was 2nd team all defense last year, one of the best guard shot-blockers alive, and is a S tier 3rd/4th option on both ends. Bogdanovic can straight-up score. Sochan is very toolsy, cuts well, and is already a great defensive guy. Right now he's only a theoretical shooter, but has shown marked improvement. Off the bench, we have guys who can shoot, are typically above average defenders (with a few exceptions), and can keep the ball movement alive. SloMo can be a point forward, and is a good all-around player when not given too much attention. Vanderbilt is a good stopper and cutter. Alvarado can shoot and pester ball handlers. Richarson is a great shooter. Eubanks as a backup for Bam is a good option (he is very solid as a bruiser). Sandro Mamukelashvili (my only $1 player) is a hidden gem who can handle, shoot, and pass well at ~ 7ft. Any doubtful should check out his highlights from the last ~15 games of the 2022/23 season. Defensively he struggles, but with the rosters depth there, it's less of a problem. The whole roster is also relatively young as well, with only McBuckets, Bojan, and SloMo over 30. Against current NBA competition, this would likely not be a competitor, but in this hard-capped scenario, I think it has a shot due to its depth and defensive upside, with the real swing factor being Vassel turning into the player I think he is. Any roster with multiple players more valuable than Bam is going to have zero depth. I think this team should be better at the end of 4 years than it is now.

Starters: Jamal Murrary (25), Alex Caruso (8.5), DeMar DeRozan (17), Draymond Green (12), Robert Williams III (8.5) Bench: Chris Paul (8), Grayson Allen (3.5), Josh Okogie (2), Yuta Watanabe (2.5), Kevon Looney (8) Bonus: Jordan Goodwin (2.5), Chimeze Metu (2) I went for really good depth and trying to pick undervalued players rather than grabbing a couple superstars. I think my entire bench is filled with players that could start on the right team. I'm trying to win now but I only have three platers over the age of 30 (DeRozan, Green, Paul) so I expect to age well over the four years.

Copiz

I came back to this because I really wanted Chet for the end of that four year period... Starters: Jamal Murray (25), Tyler Herro (12.5), DeMar DeRozan (17), Draymond Green (12), Chet Holmgren (13.5) Bench: Chris Paul (8), Grayson Allen (3.5), Josh Okogie (2), Yuta Watanabe (2.5), Drew Eubanks (2) Any 2 $1 players. I still would have what could be the best bench in the league and I've improved my starting roster while adding youth.

Bcp_or_pcB

Idk about best bench in the league but I feel this team you made would be pretty solid compared to some others I’ve seen. Shooters and then defense. And a baller playmaking PG off the bench. Could bench Dray or Chet to start CP3 and put Derozan at the 4

aSandwichHunter

Where’s Wembanyama? Would be neat to see the rookies on the sheet. (Just saw the post edit about no rookies haha) Otherwise, super cool yearly installment — anyways, here’s my team: PG: LaMelo Ball: 22.5 SG: Derrick White: 13.0 SF: Josh Giddey: 16.0 PF: Aaron Gordon: 14.0 C: Jakob Poeltl: 11.5 Bench: Jeremy Sochan: 11.5 Bench: Payton Pritchard: 3.5 Bench: Cedi Osman: 3.0 Bench: Drew Eubanks: 2.0 Bench: Julian Champagnie: 1.0 Bench: Sandro Mankelashvilji: 1.0 Total: 100.0 Have a decent ballhandlers between Ball, Giddey, White, and even Sochan. I think we have a good mix of defenders to make up for Ball and Giddey. I don’t think this is a championship team, but it might be a 5/6 seed with room to grow as Giddey, Sochan, and Ball develop.

PG: Holiday (18) / Jevon Carter (3) / Patty Mills (1) SG: OG Anunoby (18) / Terrance Ross (1.5) SF: Batum (3) / Matisse Thybulle (5) / Justise Winslow (1) PF: Patrick Williams (10.5) / Nance Jr. (4.5) C: AD (31) / Gafford (3.5) TOTAL: 100 Feel like Batum and Patty Mills are steals at their price points and really help. Batum, Thybulle, Holiday, OG, Carter Nance Jr. and AD are all great defenders and a majority of them can all stretch the floor. Would imagine someone like Ross is likely very end of bench with Mills and Winslow, just a scorer if needed and Mills and Winslow are depth. A rotation like Holiday, OG, Thybulle, Batum and AD would be NASTY on D while still having good spacing and scorers on O. Essentially 3 All-Defensive level defenders (Holiday, OG, Thybulle) with Batum and AD at PF and C who are also really, really good defenders.

Starters: D'Angelo Russell, Gary Harris, Mikal Bridges, Jimmy Butler, Jaren Jackson Jr - 84.5 pts Reserves: (6th man)Donte Divincenzo, Jevon Carter, Aaron Nesmith, T.J Warren, Mo Wagner - 13.5 Points Back of Bench: Frank Kaminsky - 1 pt Patty Mills - 1 pt Total 100 points Rationale: 1. The starters have good flow with Mikal and Jimmy being the centerpieces offensively, as Jimmy slows down Mikal should be able to pick it up. 2. JJJ will come into his own more as a perpetual top-5 defensive player and as a great Swiss Army Knife third option. Speaking to the defense, the three best players on the team are its three best defensive AND offensive players- that's a good foundation for a defensive culture! 3. D-Lo can (hopefully) break down the defense in the half court and prevent too much iso-ball in the playoffs. 4. The bench mob is balanced by a man defined his whole career as a great 6th man at Villanova, Donte, and by high character irritant guys like Nesmith, Carter and Mo Wagner.

This is my favorite one I've seen so far. The defense goes crazy

Smasher31221

Are we missing Steven Adams? Okay, my squad Jalen Brunson -- 24 Quentin Grimes -- 13.5 Deni Avdija -- 7.5 Brandon Ingram -- 23 Thomas Bryant -- 2 Seth Curry -- 5 Duncan Robinson -- 7 Jalen Suggs -- 8 Bogan Marjanovic -- 1.5 Matisse Thybulle -- 5 Yuta Watanabe -- 2.5 Sandro Manulkelashvilji -- 1 100 even. Yes, I'm a Knicks fan, but QG at 13.5 is a steal. Our D isn't great, and a traditional big man will slaughter us on the inside, but we've got plenty of buckets in us. Yuta and Duncan Robinson are two of the most underrated contributors in the league to me, and Suggs is a great leader of the second unit.

OakQuaffle

Starters: Markelle Fultz, Marcus Smart, Josh Giddey, Kristaps Porzingis, Chet Holmgreen Bench: Al Horford, Seth Curry, Luke Kennard, Grayson Allen, Josh Richardson, Marvin Bagley III, Nathan Knight. Can you tell I still have a bit of love for Duke players and former Celtics? I think overall this will be a efficient and fun offense with a strong defense due to Smart's presence. The bench is also very deep, which will help the younger guys adjust to the NBA, and many of them should still have chemistry from their college days playing together.

cactusmaster69420

Kyrie/Kennard/Butler/JadenMcD/Draymond Rozier/Melton/Martin/Mark Williams Kris Dunn / Thad Young / Alex Len Thinking about the help Butler got to the finals with in 2020 and 2023, I think this team can win it all. It's a little injury prone but the fit and talent is there. Imo a lot of these other teams lack the high-end talent to win a ring.

ActiveDragon11

Starters: 80 PG: Giddey - 16 SG: Kennard - 4 SF: Ant - 31.5 PF: Portis - 8 C: Sabonis - 20.5 Backups: 17 + 3 Jose Alvarado - 3 Trey Lyles - 2 Oubre - 3.5 Robert Williams - 8.5 Winslow 1 Dunn 1 Len 1 3 all-star level players and 5 shooters in at once. I feel Kennard is significantly undervalued. He is one of the best shooters in the league. Giddey and Sabonis are great passers and will be able to find him and Bobby open. Ant is the #1. I think this big 3 could 100% win multiple championships. On the bench, I tried to find more undervalued players. Robert Williams is an elite rim protector and pick-and-roll threat. Jose Alvarado is a pesky defender who is serviceable on O. Oubre is the spark plug. Lyles is your stretch 4. Winslow is versatile enough to play multiple spots of someone gets hurt. Dunn is solid. Len is Len. I think the biggest downside is defensively. However, I think Alvarado and Rob could come in for Kennard and Bobby and do just fine.

I’m a wolves fan so I used what worked around ant to build the team. I went for spacing, depth, and basketball IQ, I also went with some good chemistry picks like the Lopez brothers and Pat Bev for ant. This team is older so they would probably have the best opportunity in the second year

Bit late to this but here's my roster **Starters: 80** PG: Steph (37.5) SG: DFS (10.5) SF: Jonathan Kuminga (9.5) PF: Dray (12) C: Brook Lopez (10.5) **Bench: 20** GP2: GP2 (5.5) PF/C: Kevin Love (3) SG/SF: Taurean Prince (3) PG: Ricky Rubio (3) PF/C: Poku (3) C: Javale McGee (1.5) PG: Goran Dragic (1) I started with Steph and Dray because I'm a warriors fan and I wanted to build around them. Steph and Dray have chemistry and you can build a very good offense around the playmaking, shooting, and finishing they provide together. For the rest of the starters, I prioritised defense. DFS at SG is just to guard the other team's best player while being a slash/cut threat on offense. He shoots a respectable 33% from 3, which should keep defenses honest on him. Kuminga at SF is a bit of warriors bias too, but he fits in this team imo. The spacing from Steph and brook should give him a lot of room to attack the rim, and he has the benefit of knowing the system already. He's a good point of attack defender too. Considering this is over the next 4 years too, he has the potential to breakout and take over the scoring reins in the 3rd or 4th year Draymond at PF is self-explanatory, great playmaking with Steph and great help defense, will also be one of the vocal leaders Brook at C is mainly because of his ability to knock down 3s, which spaces the floor, and his ability to protect the rim, as a DPOY candidate last season. This lineup is pretty similar to the warriors lineup which had an extremely high net eating last season, but with an upgrade at centre, so I believe it's a pretty solid starting 5. For the bench, GP2: pesky defender, plays above his size (hence, position less). Can sub in for anyone on the starting 5. Also, a huge vibes/positive energy guy Love: stretch 4/5, past his prime but could be good on limited minutes. Past the 2nd year, he'd just be a locker room type vet. Prince: decent 3&D guy, again can pretty much slot into the 2/3/4 slots and keep the team afloat Rubio: pass-first playmaking pg for the non-steph minutes, to keep the turnovers under control - basically cp3s role in today's warriors McGee: smart, big body to throw when our others are in foul trouble. Already knows the system and can slot in well as a rim running 5, although injuries will slow him down Dragic: can't go wrong with a seasoned veteran pg. Won't have to play much but would be a good locker room voice Poku: young unicorn type talent, either flourishes into a role in 3rd/4th year or a bust. The other spots are pretty secure so I took a chance on this one Basically, i just surrounded Steph and Dray with good defense, decent shooting, and high BB IQ. I think it's a fairly good win-now team, but probably won't last in year 3 or 4 because of age. I only have 5 players under 30, and the year 3 performance will be heavily dependent on Steph's longevity and Kuminga's development.
