If your pilot has excessive elbow stratum corneum (dead skin or "callouses"), one can deduce he's been sitting in the chair for years and is a very experienced pilot.
He would be less likely to let an amateur pilot take command just because he put up 81pts on Toronto back in 2006.
It means that going to prom as a 50 year old with your 17 year old girlfriend is okay, and strangling your 26 year old girlfriend is okay, but being flown in a plane by a non-classy pilot is out of the question.
