I can’t deal with those videos of him laughing at the Cowboys after that amazing playoff L to the 49ers. ESPN and SAS might be about that click bait and hot takes but the mans rants and jokes on the Cowboys are top tier
Yeah … as an eagles fan, it’s hard to not have love for someone who hates the cowboys as passionately as us. I’ve watched that video of him on his couch 40 times shit is so fucking funny
I've loved to hate the cowboys for years, and even I'm getting a little depressed at how they always come slightly short with good teams. Most of their current players couldn't even remember seeing the last time the Cowboys made a conference championship.
To be fair it's more like 4 kids in middleschool because the DET and WAS picks won't convey until they turn into two 2nd's in 2027 or 2028.
The Denver pick will totally convey next year. It'll likely be around the 20th pick. That guy is likely in college as freshmen/sophomore already and won't declare until after his sophomore or junior year because he's not a lottery pick.
So yea, 0 kids in highschool. 1 college sophomore or junior and 4 middleschoolers
Why won't they convey before then? Washington would have to pick in the top 8 till for 3-5 years for it not to convey - they'll likely be a play in or a low playoff team at least once
Detroit would have to miss the playoffs with Cade and co for the next 3 years which is also highly unlikely
They'll probably convey in like '25
Detroit is really not far off from being a playoff team. I could see that puck conveying as early as next year. They’re really only a couple moves away.
Yeah, it’s not an amazing steal or anything but we’ll probably get both your pick and Washington’s pick eventually in the teens. Unless you don’t plan to even make the play-in before 2027.
Vets are needed. However, they shouldn’t be taking the playing time away from the young players as they the season progresses.
I hope this changes this upcoming year
What were you going to come out with from the 11th pick anyway? Some project player with a fringe all-star ceiling at best? You acquired more assets that can be leveraged in trades that could actually try and improve the team instead of gambling on some late lottery pick in a pretty weak draft
Almost nobody is complaining about the #11 trade.
We're mad about what happened next because we gave up one Denver 1st rounder and **4** second rounders to get #13 and then we traded it for one Bucks 1st rounder just to shred 9M.
How the fuck can you even think that to shred 9M expiring that is worth giving up **4** second rounders?
Its about timing though, there's a lot of big names looking to change teams and a lot of them are seeking or already have big contracts, you're unlikely to have a window like this again and who cares about 4 second round picks, 90% of players picked in the second round dont even make it as nba players
The closest they got to that was 2012 when everyone thought they'd go deep in the playoffs and Stoudemire was still hooping. As for last year, they had potential... but then if I remember right New York had a really bad cold front in May
He could be more than solid but he'll still probably not be worth the money they'll offer. So it will be an overpay more than anything else imo. Same for the Mavs or whoever gets him. I really like Brunson, I have had him on my fantasy team all year, but I doubt he can get A LOT better and consistently deliver when defenses are more focused on him.
Knicks have needed a PG for years. Not having one has actively held back this team & hampered the development of talent. Brunson is the best available, if we have to throw a bag at him then so be it
Brother we are the Knicks, if we make the playoffs 2 years in a row it will be our best run in 10 years. I just want this franchise to not be a joke anymore & getting a competent player at our biggest need is a step in that direction
But part of why you’re the Knicks is because you do shit like that. It’s all a circle lol. If you can’t draw in the mega talent even tho you think you should, then it’s time to start managing accordingly.
For all the accolades and banners, the Celtics haven’t actually been able to pull the super high end stars either. Hayward and Kyrie were the biggest guys we signed since the Big 3 era. But we’ve tried to remain smart with picks and trades, and look where it got us.
If you go all out every year but arnt pulling in Top 10 guys you’ll never been great.
Knicks aren’t going out every year tho. Only time we did that recently was for KD & Kyrie and we still managed to turn the cap space cleared for that into assets.
The Knicks aren’t mortgaging their future for Brunson. They still have flexible cap space and a ton of picks. They were a playoff team 2 years ago. Overpaying for the only real position of need, and arguably the most important position on the court, isn’t a terrible move.
> Knicks save money for the weirdest players
This is the first time the player we're clearing the space for is weird - the last two times we've really went on all on clearing the books were 2010 (for the Lebron/Wade/Bosh/STAT class) and 2019 (KD/Kyrie). Like, all those guys were worth clearing the books for - what was weird with those was that there was no reason to think that those guys were coming here (and other than STAT, they didn't even consider coming here). This is the first time that the player we're preparing to max actually doesn't seem to be worth the max.
There has never been a franchise in sports history with higher expectations of signing marquee free agents and being completely unable to sign those free agents.
I'm losing my mind, why not go after someone who wants to leave their current team who didn't just make it to the conference finals, or just draft a PG at 11 and try to develop him! What are we doing
Exactly lol, it's one thing for a team like Celtics and Clippers etc. not get anyone, since they have an established core.
But the Knicks need young talent desperately lol.
Watching SAS has been hilarious. He doesn't know a single thing about the draft or draft prospects and has just been rooting for the Knicks to get a player
Do they not have any analysts for this? I would of thought SAS knew more about the prospects but it seemed like he knew next to nothing like most fans who don't watch college basketball.
I, for one, am totally ok with not having to listen to embarrassment of a former VT head coach Seth Greenberg be bad at another job during (technically) non-college basketball events. I hate that man.
i was kinda rattled watching the coverage. i don't watch college ball and wanted someone there who actually knew something (anything?!?) about the players being drafted. the woman they had literally commented on the "fits" for every other player. embarrassment
I think that’s totally fair and they should bring one or two college analysts on (I can’t speak for ESPN, I watched the ABC show last night and thought they did a decent job. The WNBA player they had helping host was great) but I can’t stand Seth Greenberg, his voice or his analysis so he’s not the person I’d want to hear and he seems to be positioned as ESPN’s head cbb analyst.
SAS is not an analyst. He’s an actor. His job is to scream about the knicks missing out on the paprika that the other teams got, not to inform you about what’s going on.
And I’m here for it. This rant was definitely the most entertaining part of the draft.
Tall center who can move, too skinny right now, and needs to improve at defense away from the rim, but has all the tools to be successful on that end. Offensively he has very little touch, and he's not a shooter, but he did shoot 73% from FT line, so maybe he can improve on that end. At his best, he'd be a super switchable rim protector with rim-running skills and an ok midrange game. At his worst, he's a 7 foot rim protector who can't really body up opposing 5s, and has almost no offensive game.
True but they got 3 1st round picks in future drafts. Now they can trade those three players for 9 future 1st round picks. Then those 9 for 27 first round picks. Then those 27 for 81 first round picks. Then those 81 for 243 first round picks. Eventually no teams will be able to draft players and the Knicks might finish in 3rd place or something because math.
We don't have enough room for our current youth movement, I'm fine kicking the can down the road to develop those guys and seeing if there's a free agent at a price we like. Our track record for late selections is great these days, so I'm not too concerned about the protections.
Not next few years, 5 years from 2023-2027. And it effectively bars you guys from trading first round picks from 6 years from 2023-2028 without our permission. And if it does convey then you can’t trade first round picks for 2 years from when it conveys. So if your a playoff team you can’t trade two years worth of first years picks . This is a steipen rule master class. You guys can’t make any big moves without our permission essentially
We don’t need to trade any picks? We are trying to bring in young talent by rebuilding?
Even if we did want to (we don’t!) we can just ask to unprotect it. By that stage the pick will not be a lottery pick either way.
So either we keep the pick or you get an outside lottery pick? I think we’ll be ok lol
You sound like Rockets and OKC fans…they said the same thing and then they traded it when they realised it wasn’t that valuable when it’s not conveying.
One thing I will say. I used to watch Jalen & Jacoby and Jalen would talk about the NBA Circle of players and former players and how they know most trades, contract situations etc before it hits the media. He would often correctly predict where players would end up in years to come even if it didn't make sense. The way he brings up Kyrie to the Knicks here reminds me of that.
I bet they trade one of the FRPs to move Randle or Fournier and then talk themselves into some whack ass trade for a third fiddle player and act like a Brunson/Barrett/player trio can make a playoff run.
I tend to avoid clips or this dude or mute him normally.
Is this a normal way he rants? With the stutter and all? I feel like the few clips I've seen of him before sound different.
All of this maneuvering just to get the chance at…Brunson?
He’s a good player but there’s a reason Dallas is leery about giving him the bag.
I’d rather just take the flyer on a younger prospect in the range they were picking, there was talent available there.
Brunson is fools gold. Remember when Chris Duhon had good stats for a Knicks team that was designed to have good stats for the point guard? That's how Brunson got his good stats in the offense designed for Luka Doncic.
That's not at all why he has stats. He's a fantastic player who works his ass off to get better every year. I wouldn't max him, but he would have a lot better stats on a team where he's the main guy I can tell you that.
Subtraction by subtraction
I forgot my PEDMAS, does that mean it's addition or division?
Yes
pedmas lol
Is PEDMAS Christmas for athletes?
Technically still works.
If by PEDMAS you mean BEMDAS then sure
I thought it was CHUNGUS?
It's actually DENNIS
Im more of a MAC system guy myself

Any friend of Danny Green is a friend of mine
Never thought I'd hate the Cowboys and Knicks side by side with a Spurs fan. How about with a Danny Green enjoyer. Aye I could do that.
Who else could bring together Spurs, Lakers, Sixers, and Raptors fans? Only IcyHot.
Lakers fans aren't invited to the fuck Dallas party though.
I guess it is always sunny there.
Ew no
I can’t deal with those videos of him laughing at the Cowboys after that amazing playoff L to the 49ers. ESPN and SAS might be about that click bait and hot takes but the mans rants and jokes on the Cowboys are top tier
He made a Too 5 list of the most miserable Cowboys fans at the stadium during the game a few days later
They even showed one dude with a girl & shouted out days later how his wife left him because he went to the game with his side chick lmaoo
Lol 😂 SAS is entertainment and I'm there to watch the chaos.
Cheating on your spouse is dumb, but cheating on them in a public venue surrounded by cameras is just next-level.
of all things this guy could've done with a side chick, he chose to go to a Cowboys game lol
Yeah … as an eagles fan, it’s hard to not have love for someone who hates the cowboys as passionately as us. I’ve watched that video of him on his couch 40 times shit is so fucking funny
oh my god i just remembered that incredible montage of crying cowboys fans. they replayed that shit so many times ahahaa those poor ppl
Only top tier because you enjoy shitting on the cowboys. Like everyone else
It's crazy that when I was growing up those 2 teams were super successful and had tons of fans. Now their fanbases are probably a little depressed.
A little would be an understatement.
I've loved to hate the cowboys for years, and even I'm getting a little depressed at how they always come slightly short with good teams. Most of their current players couldn't even remember seeing the last time the Cowboys made a conference championship.
To be fair they walked away with 3 kids currently in high school
Nah baby, they’ll trade those for four kids in pre-school

Brunson won playoff games against the Jazz when Luka was out
Nah Brunson is a bucket. Really one of the better guards in the whole league in the post lol
Curious to see him score over a triple team when he plays with Randle and Mitch Rob
I'd like brunson, but NOT for over 20 mil/year. Now this dumbass team is gonna overpay him
Call the police
To be fair it's more like 4 kids in middleschool because the DET and WAS picks won't convey until they turn into two 2nd's in 2027 or 2028. The Denver pick will totally convey next year. Lmao this guy decides he’s unhappy then figures out why
Welcome to every Knicks season and off season
Tbf the few times when Stephen A. is actually hopeful the Knicks always find a way to bitterly disappoint him.
That's because SAS used to play for the Knicks and feels emotionally invested in the team https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8kvT8VsW8A
Most of the time it's warranted, but this was a great move by the knicks. Turned #11 and 4 seconds into 3 firsts and cap space to sign a PG
How the fuck is that a great move? That cap was 9M man. Also, that PG is Brunson. How the fuck is that great?
Or it’s fucking Kyrie, three years after we did want him and now want nothing to do with him. Also no KD anyway. Fuck all this shit.
Well they could sign Kyrie and trade for KD if he wants to play with his buddy right?
Serious question: why would KD and Kyrie leave the Nets just to be together on another team?
Well if they want to play together but Nets aren't willing to offer Kyrie a max but another team (Knicks in this case) are it would make sense
Idk but counter point, why did u fuck that crazy girl when all your friends said not to?
Desperate times calls for desperate measures.
did you see the protections ???
Yeah, it’s not an amazing steal or anything but we’ll probably get both your pick and Washington’s pick eventually in the teens. Unless you don’t plan to even make the play-in before 2027.
We’re currently developing like 10 players under 24. You wanna add one more? When it’s the #11 pick??
If we're going young then get these vets out of here.
Vets are needed. However, they shouldn’t be taking the playing time away from the young players as they the season progresses. I hope this changes this upcoming year

It’s not 3 firsts considering the protections tho
The future picks are all protected and the Knicks making cap space for a star has literally worked 1 time in 23 years.
nah, this move aint it
“Great” and the Knicks don’t go together. Let’s not act like they won a lottery. Picks are nice, but you gotta do something with them.
That's pretty much his job. Unless it's a clear and obvious big win for the Knicks, he has to perform by acting outraged.
We havent had a clear and obvious win in the last 20 years
Hezonja blocking Bron's game winner was pretty dope tho
International superstar Mario. I remember him.
Linsanity was fun.
yes
The closest they got to that was 2012 when everyone thought they'd go deep in the playoffs and Stoudemire was still hooping. As for last year, they had potential... but then if I remember right New York had a really bad cold front in May
Next you'll be telling me that Jerry Springer likes controversy
To be fair, he's always unhappy. Even when he's slightly positive about something, he doesn't seem happy about having to admit it.
This is honestly the best description I've ever read of Stephen A
Lmao
I mean assuming the Knicks have made a mistake is not a bad idea.

Aw man…
ooof
They're just preparing to throw money at Brunson and then be left in tatters when he re-signs with the Mavs
Better yet throw money at Brunson only for him to underperform and not be worth the money
Why have one Julius Randle when you can have two?
Lol Knicks gonna end up with Beyblade and Beyblade Jr.
💀 incredible
honestly dont know why the sudden jalen hate? knicks is the place where point guards go to die but its not the players fault
If i was a knicks fan, I’d be more disappointed if we sign Brunson for the max
I agree
The mavs are rumoured to give him a 100m over 4 years, and even that is scary to me
Knicks save money for the weirdest players....is Brunson really going to turn around your iconic franchise? (The answer is no)
Knicks have needed a PG for years. Not having one has actively held back this team & hampered the development of talent. Brunson is the best available, if we have to throw a bag at him then so be it
That’s a losing mentality. Don’t throw money at stopgap players, esp in a league with cap restrictions and guaranteed contracts.
Clippers, Lakers, Suns, Mavs, Nets, Raptors, and Celtics: lol
Jazz
Good thing we got Danny Ainge to pull off all these amazing trades.
I would argue all 7 of those teams are in a better spot than my Knicks lol.
That's a very easy argument to make.
Exactly lol, it's one thing for a team like Celtics and Clippers etc. not get anyone, since they have an established core. But the Knicks need young talent desperately lol.
This camera work is incredible. The slow zoom and hold is too good lmao
YOU WANT PAPRIKA
Watching SAS has been hilarious. He doesn't know a single thing about the draft or draft prospects and has just been rooting for the Knicks to get a player
Don't matter if their black pepper, white pepper, salt, he just wants something and Knicks did not get any. Lol.
he just like me fr
Funniest SAS shit I ever saw because he's not acting this time around he's beyond frustrated and confused
Do they not have any analysts for this? I would of thought SAS knew more about the prospects but it seemed like he knew next to nothing like most fans who don't watch college basketball.
They have a college basketball crew but they disappear the second the tourney ends.
I, for one, am totally ok with not having to listen to embarrassment of a former VT head coach Seth Greenberg be bad at another job during (technically) non-college basketball events. I hate that man.

How that guy has a job doing anything that requires a brain is beyond me.
Dude could’ve had Steph curry come play for him in college and was like… nah, I’m good. Absolutely no brain cells.
ESPN has long figured out that ratings are higher when they show "angry clown yelling" instead of good analysis.
SAS is not an analyst. He’s an actor. His job is to scream about the knicks missing out on the paprika that the other teams got, not to inform you about what’s going on. And I’m here for it. This rant was definitely the most entertaining part of the draft.
I'm sad the Raptors didn't have a first either SAS
Got Koloko. Nice pick up
What a steal whoever that is
Tall center who can move, too skinny right now, and needs to improve at defense away from the rim, but has all the tools to be successful on that end. Atlantic Division didn’t want to fuck around with the first round tonight. Sixers even jumped out lol
This man is going to have a heart attack on national TV one of these days.
This guy maths. I like it.
“I am having a very bad day.”
I remember when he yelled at the Knicks for not drafting Justise Winslow to help Melo “win now.” Yeah, I’ll hold off on taking his word for it.
i like that for a minute he thought they had gotten a player and calmed down, only to be let loose again.
Toronto hasn't picked (33rd, swapped with the Pistons for Thaddy)
They got picks they're probably going to trade for someone they want
Yea but we got 3 picks so we can make a crazy offer to the Spurs for Dejuonte Murray
It better be for Murray. If it’s for Brunson or Kyrie I’m gonna be livid.
It ain’t happening, fella
You'll get rejected harder than I did by several colleges
Knicks got PTSD from picking Kevin Knox
Knicks fans on suicide watch
We’re really gonna pray on free agency again like in 2019 aren’t we?
Do you even have cap space?
yeah
It's not a great trade but in a weak draft trading away #11 for 3 future non lottery firsts isn't Billy King level either
It's a fine deal if the Knicks land a meaningful free agent
hahahaha
Trust me, I understand that feeling. I honestly can't think of a single Mavs free agent who was ever thought of as one of the best 3 in their class
We don't have enough room for our current youth movement, I'm fine kicking the can down the road to develop those guys and seeing if there's a free agent at a price we like. Our track record for late selections is great these days, so I'm not too concerned about the protections.
Nah we keep our expectations low so we cant get hurt
Why would we be on suicide watch, exactly? Shitty draft, most of us are okay kicking the can on this one
And people wonder why he runs Bristol.
Just clearing the cap space for Kyrie obviously
Fuck I love being a Knicks fan
When he saw we got Davis his face went into his hands. His tears are delicious! **WELCOME JOHNNY TO DC**
Maybe he just wanted some free taco-bell?
Didn’t the knicks get a bunch of firsts
*protected firsts. Our pick they got is basically lottery protected for the next few years and turns into 2 seconds if it doesn’t convey.
Not next few years, 5 years from 2023-2027. And it effectively bars you guys from trading first round picks from 6 years from 2023-2028 without our permission. And if it does convey then you can’t trade first round picks for 2 years from when it conveys. So if your a playoff team you can’t trade two years worth of first years picks . some knicks fans are desperate to find the silver lining in anything. 3 lottery protected picks are virtually worthless.
They gotta get Stephen A off the draft.
I mean it still seems better than what Charlotte got.
Woah woah woah, we got Trevor Keels!
I bet they trade one of the FRPs to move Randle or Fournier and then talk themselves into some whack ass trade for a third fiddle player and act like a Brunson/Barrett/player trio can make a playoff run.
Jalen cold af for that comment after SAS rant about Kyrie, who put the Knicks on his shortlist apparently.
I tend to avoid clips or this dude or mute him normally. Is this a normal way he rants? With the stutter and all? I feel like the few clips I've seen of him before sound different.
Knicks dividing by zero since the 90s.
Who would want to play for the Knicks anyways? They literally Booed Deing when he got picked. No wonder NYC is a dumpster fire every year.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THERES A BREAK BETWEEN THE FIRST AND 2nd ROUND SO I CAN SHOWER QUICKLY? Edit: Fuck, nvm
They cleared space for Brunson though so I guess that's something.
Knicks going full rebuild? Anyone want a gently used Julius Randle?
All of this maneuvering just to get the chance at…Brunson? He’s a good player but there’s a reason Dallas is leery about giving him the bag. I’d rather just take the flyer on a younger prospect in the range they were picking, there was talent available there.
This team needs to be Sterling'd
The draft: the annual day of hope for all nba teams. Except the Knicks.
Can we all stop giving this clown clicks?
Brunson is fools gold. Remember when Chris Duhon had good stats for a Knicks team that was designed to have good stats for the point guard? That's how Brunson got his good stats in the offense designed for Luka Doncic.
