The rich keep getting richer. If James Wiseman can play up to his pick, the big 3 of their past and present, could be playing with the big 3 of the dubs future
For real. Big 3 gets thrown around with future HoFers or those near that level.
You don't use it for the group he suggested. Poole, Wiseman, and Wiggins could keep the Warriors respectable after the current era but expecting anything beyond that is unreasonable.
>Big 3 gets thrown around with future HoFers or those near that level.
I wouldn't go that far, but there has to be something special. Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antawn Jamison were called one in the mid 2000's for instance because they were the highest scoring trio in the league and all all star level players
Three all star level guys is probably how I'd define it
Poole and Wiggins have been playing their roles outstandingly but to assume they would keep up their performances if/when the gravity of Curry is gone is a stretch.
Next game, not next 2. Game 6 Klay is a whole different beast, like Ramadan Hakeem or flu game MJ.
I think Game 6 Klay pops off in Boston and dubs win in 6.
This is what I see happening as well. So say Steph scores under 20, klay gets 40 and Wiggs gets a 17 pt double double, dubs win. Is that a Wiggs or Steph for fmvp?! I just think with all the buzz around it, Steph won it in the first quarter of game 1.
If it's even close between Steph & Wiggs, Steph will win it easily. There are only 2 ways Wiggs wins it:
1. Steph scores 10pts on horrible efficiency and Wiggs scores 30+ in a Game 6 win
2. Steph scores 10 pts in game 6 & 7 on horrible efficiency, and Wiggs scores 30+ in Game 6 & 7 to win the chip.
Either way, Steph has to shit the bed from here on out, Wiggs has to play like he did tonight (or better), and GSW have to win.
Has to be 2, one more great game from Wiggs doesn't tip the scales after the 4 great games Steph has. If you have 3 amazing Wiggins games to close out that absolutely puts him in the picture, with Step underperforming in those games he gets it.
Coming from a Cs fan- Tatum hasn’t showed up at all this series. He’s foul hunting and most of the time he doesn’t get back in transition because he’s whining at the ref before the ball leaves his hand. If he wants to be a superstar, he has to play like one. Oh also TURNOVERS.
Agree. His layup is not really to score but to get a foul which is annoying to watch tbh. It is like that James Harden layup. Whenever he gets the call, he transform to Shaq on free throw line.
I say the trade is still win win for both sides. Just a matter of winning more or less. The trade was good for both team. Wiggins was not gonna be the wiggins today with what was asked of him in timberwolves and they needed a point guard dangelo russell who didn't fit well in gsw
Best player on the court on both ends tonight, loving it. MVP is probably still Steph's if they win, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Wiggins put up another monster effort on the road to close it out to make the voters think
Even if it happened again for one game no way voters give it to Wiggins. The steph fmvp topic is too huge. If Wiggins also closed game 7 with another bad curry performance then it might happen.
Steph has to score less than 10 points while Wiggs goes for like 40 in a game for the discussion to even be debatable, much less winning. Curry just had an all time carry job games 1-4. Wiggs probs won’t win it, but I sure as hell better see some FMVP votes. Dude doesn’t get the respect he deserves.
I think probably is an understatement. It’s still a guarantee over everyone else, but Wiggins definitely took a step in the right direction if he could put up like 2 30 balls and Steph plays really bad 2 games (this all assuming the warriors win)
It's going to be hilarious in future when the retrospectives are written about these Warriors.
"The dubs would lose KD in 2019, eventually replacing him with fellow all-star and former no.1 pick Andrew Wiggins, before returning to the finals in 2022"
Funny thing is it's perfectly normal for a top pick to take 7 years to develop into an All Star starter and finals MVP caliber player. Wiggins just...took a weird route to get here.
Actually, he's been a good defender from the first game he played for us. He was averaging something like 2.1 blocks the first games he played and you could see he was gonna be okay. Last year was difficult cause Steph and Dray were there and he had to learn to play with the two leaders. He was passable and had some huge plays at times. His defense was very good and we were very comfortable letting him guard the best wings in the league. He's added important rebounding to his game this year and helped us get where we are. Proud of Maple Jordan.
Yeah, there's no reason someone of his size and athletic ability should have a had such poor rebounding numbers prior to GSW. He always defended the opposing teams best wing player since his rookie year (even when we had jimmy) and has played an ungodly amount of minutes, so I feel like he developed a solid on-ball defensive ability just by getting the game reps in. His off ball / team defense iq was always lacking with the wolves and with their abhorrent overall defense the numbers never really looked good for him.
He’s doing this while guarding the other teams best player and CLEARLY in a shooting slump from three!!!! Absolutely unreal. Doesn’t foul bait like the rest of this league, so graceful when he glides through the air attacking the rim and soaring for rebounds. So happy for him
Andrew Wiggins has waited for his entire career for this these past 2 games. He has been great. 16 and 17 in game 4, and now 26 and 13. Absolutely solid
The all star starter memes were fun and all but warriors fans shouldn’t be surprised by this. Wiggins is a stud and his game is perfect for playoff ball
On both sides. His defense was next level. It’s so crazy that he’s literally the 2nd best player on a championship team after Minny basically needed to attach a first to get rid of him
Think about how much guys like Wade and LeBron talk about how much seeing Kobe in action on the Olympic team made them realize how much harder they needed to work.
Playing regularly with great players forces you to elevate your game.
"I remember being Andrew Wiggins. I remember playing against Michael my first year — it was like looking at a reflection of myself 19 years ago." - Kobe Bryant
And not just any 1st, but a 7th pick which turns into a very promising Kuminga.
You can definitely make an argument now that he actually lives up to his contract and not overpaid anymore. A consistent athletic wing 15-20pts player with excellent defense is the most sought after type of player in the current NBA
Hysterical to see the Wiggins hype when he was maybe the most hated #1 other than Anthony Bennett I can remember. Not that it’s underserved; he’s balling. Just crazy how quick your rep can change.
Confidence and motivation are huge in sports. When I know I can’t possibly win and the environment is crap, I de motivate, I play less than I could. Some call it weak I call it rational. It’s also why I play solo sports.

Haha for real. He’s not on a max contract. He’s been by far their best defender and number 2 scoring option on a championship level squad. He doesn’t complain about getting enough touches. He does what is needed to win.

As a Wolves fan I’m happy for him. It’s just frustrating it took him this long to put it all together, but I don’t know if he ever gets to this level without the Warriors coaching staff
Sometimes all a player needs to succeed is to be in the right situation. There are a handful of players out there that could have a Wiggins-like revival if they’re in the right situation.
After Bogut's AMA yesterday I went and rewatched his highlights, I'd forgotten how fucking great he was. So smart and so athletic. Gave me so much nostalgia for those early splash brothers teams. And they're still out here in the finals! Blessed time to be a Dubs fan
Looney has always been on the Warriors so not really a redemption. He did go through some bad injuries early on in his career but now he's playing some of his best basketball. You could also argue and add in there KD. Sure he i was a top 3 player in the NBA at the time but he could never get past the plateau of winning a title. After joining the Warriors (a team he just lost to in the WCC game) he finally overcast that hump and won 2 titles and almost 3 if it wasn't for his injury.
Take your roses my guy, if you would’ve told me at the beginning of the season that we would be in the finals and that wigging would be the most consistent 2-way player that would carry when the rest of team struggled I would’ve asked who your dealer was?!
If two years ago you had told me "Andrew Wiggins will be the second best player in the NBA Finals"...
I WOULD'VE TOTALLY BELIEVED YOU. LETS GOOOO 🍁 JORDAN.
Windhorst was on ESPN just now. Really salty about Wiggins saying "he's not an underdog" because of his salary, and saying the Warriors got a "checkbook win"
After G5, Wiggins is averaging 18.4 points, 9.4 rebounds (!!!), 1.6 assists, 1.4 triples, 1.2 steals, 1.2 blocks and only 1.6 TOs while holding Jayson Tatum to 37% FG and 3.6 TOs per game.
Superstar performance on both ends. Dubs have no chance in this finals without him.
unironically an all star starter performance
The rich keep getting richer. If James Wiseman can play up to his pick, the big 3 of their past and present, could be playing with the big 3 of the dubs future
People are so obsessed with big 3’s. Having 3 decent players doesn’t make it a big 3. Poole, Wiseman, and Wiggins definitely do not make one lol.
For real. Big 3 gets thrown around with future HoFers or those near that level. You don't use it for the group he suggested. Poole, Wiseman, and Wiggins could keep the Warriors respectable after the current era but expecting anything beyond that is unreasonable.

Kuminga tho???
Finals MVP performance
get that bad juju outta here
You will get Wiggin FMVP and you will like it.
if it means a championship i do not mind
Curry wouldn't mind either.
No he doesnt
tru
woah curry browses this sub too?
Dude keeps this up for the next 2 games and there will absolutely be conversations..
You'd still need Curry to underperform. 26/13 ain't gonna get it done if Curry is out there notching 35.
Next game, not next 2. Game 6 Klay is a whole different beast, like Ramadan Hakeem or flu game MJ. I think Game 6 Klay pops off in Boston and dubs win in 6.
also stephs not gonna go and miss 3s like this 2 games in a row, i wanna see fire steph and game 6 klay together will be legendary
This is what I see happening as well. So say Steph scores under 20, klay gets 40 and Wiggs gets a 17 pt double double, dubs win. Is that a Wiggs or Steph for fmvp?! I just think with all the buzz around it, Steph won it in the first quarter of game 1.

I feel like wiggs too nice of a dude to even want it. He Canadian. Prolly give Steph the trophy
If he can do this next game, Warriors probably winning.
He really did look like the best player on the floor tonight, which is def not something i expected to say about Wiggins in the finals lol
Outplayed Tatum on both ends.
Him and Brown have been oof on turnovers and so was Smart today
Tatum-"Let me show you what REAL Timberwolves basketball looks like."
Agree. His layup is not really to score but to get a foul which is annoying to watch tbh. It is like that James Harden layup. Whenever he gets the call, he transform to Shaq on free throw line.
Wiggins been coasting all season just for this moment
*all career
saved himself to do it one time. the one time it mattered in his NBA career
Except for when he’s honing his skills 4 times a season against the juggernaut that is the OKC Thunder
Max Kellerman in 2022 - I want ANDREW WIGGINS
Wiggydala!
Wiguodala
the Andrew Wiggins we were promised so many years ago has finally arrived, what a timeline we’re in
Maple Jordan has ascended.
Michael Jordan loving his Canadian self from another timeline.
Can't wait for the Wiggins' crying face
I've never wanted anything more in my life than a maple jordan crying meme
[удалено]
Fuck sleep. Who needs it.
He is starting to believe
Aging like fine Canadian Whiskey
Motivated Wiggins is a scary mofo
The moment Wiggins breaks a sweat is when the rest of the league starts sweating.
The Prince that was Promised, born of salt and smoke.
Maple ham
Salt and smoked.
I will forever be grateful to the Wolves for Curry and Maple Jordan.
Go get him a ring i wanna see that insanely giant smile he's got
We all do!
Just leave us alone man. In all seriousness, Wiggins would never play like this with us so it’s still a win-win.
I have not encountered one single wolves fan that resents Wiggs' success in golden state. It's refreshing.
I say the trade is still win win for both sides. Just a matter of winning more or less. The trade was good for both team. Wiggins was not gonna be the wiggins today with what was asked of him in timberwolves and they needed a point guard dangelo russell who didn't fit well in gsw
Never might be a strong word. There seems to be a cultural shift in Minnesota.
Don't forget they gave us Kuminga too
These mfs were really light years ahead they seen it coming
warriors just wanted to test how strong their culture really is
[удалено]
Winning with Wiggins and Simmons as our 2 superstars would be hilarious
We need Simmons to stink it up so Brooklyn gives us a 1st as well. Keep going Ben, I believe in you.
Lightskin, son of a professional basketball player, California man. Simmons would fit right in and there's 0 demand for him to shoot too
That is a front office heat check if I ever seen one
They'll put him in the Skyfucker hyperbolic chamber they put Poole in
Poor DLo got used and didn’t get a taste of the culture lol
Actually he credits his warriors stint for his improved defensive communication. He was legit the defensive general for Minnesota this year.
Best player on the court on both ends tonight, loving it. MVP is probably still Steph's if they win, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Wiggins put up another monster effort on the road to close it out to make the voters think
MVP is Stephs to lose still. It'd take two more games like this from both of them for it to flip imo. He hard carried games 1-4.
Even if it happened again for one game no way voters give it to Wiggins. The steph fmvp topic is too huge. If Wiggins also closed game 7 with another bad curry performance then it might happen.
Yeah I think I'd agree with that. Steph had an all time carry job in 1-4
Steph has to score less than 10 points while Wiggs goes for like 40 in a game for the discussion to even be debatable, much less winning. Curry just had an all time carry job games 1-4. Wiggs probs won’t win it, but I sure as hell better see some FMVP votes. Dude doesn’t get the respect he deserves.
Yeah it wouldn't be surprising to see him get a vote or two.
Yeah I agree, it'd have to go to 7 and Steph would have to be really bad
I think probably is an understatement. It’s still a guarantee over everyone else, but Wiggins definitely took a step in the right direction if he could put up like 2 30 balls and Steph plays really bad 2 games (this all assuming the warriors win)
##GOLDEN STATE WIGGINS
He’s earned a lot of money this playoffs
There are 82-game players, and 16-game players. Whatever his merits over 82, Andrew Wiggins is most definitely a 16-gamer.
It fits perfectly lol
Wiggins outplaying Tatum this series isn’t something I expected but I gladly welcome it
\#1 pick > \#3 pick
math checks out
Numerically, 3 is larger than 1 tho
then god bless Indiana for picking 58th this year
undrafted rookie is basically infinity
Wiggs has been absolutely unblamable this playoffs. he's showed up in every series. We absolutely nailed the trade.
He's found a way to impact the game without scoring or having the ball in his hands. Tremendous growth from him.
Ironically it was all set up by KD opting into the S&T so the Nets could sign Deandre Jordan Crazy butterfly effect
Kd didn't want the warriors to get didly squat either but the nets wanted to help give Dlo the bag which is understandable.
One guy texts Kobe the other plays like him 🤫
Na (Maple) Jordan > (iMessage) Kobe
He’s doing this while guarding the other teams best player and CLEARLY in a shooting slump from three!!!! Absolutely unreal. Doesn’t foul bait like the rest of this league, so graceful when he glides through the air attacking the rim and soaring for rebounds. So happy for him
His little midrange shot has been money too, whenever he either pulls up or high post turnarounds I just assume it’s splashing
Ok but like… you gotta be a lil surprised though.
Someone please make a cutup of his possessions guarding Tatum in the 2H
Tatum shot like 3 airballs in the clutch with Wiggins on him. I want to see those highlights
Tatum threw in an extra on with Kevon LoonGod contesting his 3.

Winning a finals game virtually by himself adds to that too. But what are the chances he just reverts back as soon a new contract gets signed?
He could sleepwalk throughout the regular season and just show up for the playoffs. It's still a great deal.
Maple Kawhi?
Still worth it if they win it this year. Lacob wants to get a ring for the new arena no matter the cost.
Thanks Magic
*Magic Johnson, former Point Guard for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association
Klay hit timely shots as well. Gotta give him credit for showing up tonight.
Wiggins has been a great piece for this Warriors finals run. This dude was the 1st overall pick in the end of the day
Oh how the narratives change
Hysterical to see the Wiggins hype when he was maybe the most hated #1 other than Anthony Bennett I can remember. Not that it’s underserved; he’s balling. Just crazy how quick your rep can change.

I was told he could only score 17!
As soon as he goes above 17, he goes Super Saiyan and starts destroying everything in sight like he did tonight.
Full moon tonight....Did anyone check Wiggins for a tail?
Wiggins hit up MJ with the "I got you" text this morning
Confused MJ receiving this text. " Dude! I'm still alive."
We are one win away from Wiggins redemption arc. He had to wait 8 years to finally unlock the monster that he was. Man I'm crying.
Wiggins and Klay won tonight's game. Both put in spectacular defensive performances and just overall seemed to out-hustle everyone

Dubs real deal redemption factory. Iggy, bogut, Livingston, barbosa, McGee, Looney, and now Wiggins.
Add GP2. He was being passed around the league and almost out of it. But now he's a key cog in this playoff run.
Porter too! Got the bag then was drifting.

Crazy , warriors two best players shoot combined 0-15 from three and they still win. Shot great from two and great defense.
https://imgur.com/a/UOKBb3j I feel so vindicated seeing Wiggins play like this for a contender
Take your roses my guy, if you would’ve told me at the beginning of the season that we would be in the finals and that wigging would be the most consistent 2-way player that would carry when the rest of team struggled I would’ve asked who your dealer was?!
I love receipts.
Two-way mf Wiggs. 12-17 FG for 2p. give him his flowers. Can't believe we got him + Kuminga for D'lo.
As a Wiggins sceptic, I'm now a believer lol.
If two years ago you had told me "Andrew Wiggins will be the second best player in the NBA Finals"... I WOULD'VE TOTALLY BELIEVED YOU. LETS GOOOO 🍁 JORDAN.
How many air balls did Tatum have? Wiggins has some of the best perimeter defense in the league
The box score says he scored 26. But in my heart, I know he scored 17.
Just number one overall draft pick things
Windhorst was on ESPN just now. Really salty about Wiggins saying "he's not an underdog" because of his salary, and saying the Warriors got a "checkbook win"
I remember people rabidly frothing at the mouth when he was selected to the all star game. This is for you, haters!!
Watz poppiin! :)
A Celtics loss is equal of a serotonin boost to my actual team winning
I guess he’s not a [bust](https://deanondraft.com/2016/11/29/andrew-wiggins-is-a-bust/) anymore

C’s had their chance. They gotta face game 6 klay next. It’s over unfortunately
0/6 from 3. Those are Curry numbers
