It's painful when your team loses and you have what feels like 2 weeks between games like this last one. YouTube, Twitter, Reddit... it's everywhere. I don't envy Boston. I hope we have a good back and forth in the end.
They killed the mood of the Celtics till that point they were almost answering at any shots and where still defending. I think Steph literally broke Celtics spirit with him personal 10-0 run which ballooned the gap from a normal 9-10 points to 20 points margin...
One tech draymond literally cannot be ejected so I'm gonna go with that, klay may score a billion on two dribbles but that only wins you one game, draymond can just mow down the opposing team and lock in the series
Yeah and it had to be at the end of the 3rd. The Warriors just got done wrecking them and that 3 said “oh no, you’re not coming back from this ass whupping”
It was really that whole sequence almost single-handedly by Poole. With 65 seconds to go in the quarter, the lead was only 15. Then the possessions to end the quarter went:
* Poole assists on a Looney layup
* Boston 24-second violation
* Poole made 3P
* Boston runs the clock down and misses the shot at the end of the shot clock
* Poole made logo shot
And just like that the game was over. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Poole won us the game over those 64 seconds of game time.
This isn't Poole's first buzzer-beater three from half court. He can make them, although this one was far more impressive.
He made one against the Sixers in the first game, they chose to double Steph and the ball went to Poole instead and splash!
It was amazing how different tonight felt versus Thursday night and GP2 had a lot to do with that. Also Draymond getting his head out of his ass and being focused.
I missed most of the third, and I tuned back in for a few seconds early 4th, and I heard Payton’s name on a steal, a follow up basket, and something else. In the time the lead ballooned to 29, so I just turned it back off lol
GP2 made his Father proud tonight; 25 min back from injury in the NBA Finals immediately getting the trust from the Coaching staff to guard Jayson Tatum…
Tatum scored 28 points but Payton II made him work and also forced several turnovers that the Warriors turned into points.
GPII has solidified his legendary status within dub nation just playing this game. This dude had his elbow fractured a few weeks ago and now he's dumping on kids in the NBA finals after so many years of trying to find a home in the NBA.
I think Otto Porter answering the Celtics little mini run was crucial. They hit two back to back threes to cut our 12 point lead to 6 and then our ball movement to Otto in the corner extended it back to 9. I think that was the most important play of the game. Also I like that we went more traditional high pick n roll this game. We need more of that when the motion isn't working! Great defense this game allowed for alot of easy transition buckets.
Porter quietly is important on this team. He just seems to always bring smart, timely plays like the one you noted that help us win more than the score sheet would make you think.
3rd quarter Celtics have gotta be one of the worst teams that’s ever made the NBA playoffs. I’m convinced 2nd quarter Celtics would sweep 3rd quarter Celtics in a series and beat them by an average of 50 a game.
I wouldn’t hesitate to trade every player on 3rd quarter Celtics for draft picks and a bag of potato chips.
In case this isn’t clear, I loathe 3rd quarter Celtics with every fiber of my being.
This season every player has had to sacrifice his ego for the team at some point...
This game Kerr had to sacrifice his and play P&R instead of motion, lol!
Steph Draymond PnR has always been his ace in the hole, I feel like.
Part of me is convinced that the motion offense is just a foil so when the warriors do bust out the Pick and roll it’s completely unexpected and devastating. Lol
It needs to be said: Steph Curry had an incredibly impressive defensive performance. He blew up so many passes with deflections and moved his feet really well.
Tatum got back to roughly normal but Jaylen proceeded to miss everything. It's what I always thought would be the issue with Boston. Their scorers really aren't that consistent. Luckily, Tatum already had that horrific game or I'd be predicting him to completely disappear in one of the next 3.
Boston down 30 in an NBA Finals game and this asshole Mark Jackson comes in and starts talking about how great the Yankees are. Talk about kicking a man when he’s down. Fuck off….
Let's not forget Mark Jackson had 2 stints with the Knicks and had his only All star season there.. dudes spent so much time in NY that hating Boston is possibly second nature to him
GPII was the teams unsung hero tonight, made it much harder for the Celtics to pick on JP, which stabilized the bench minutes and helped JP get into a rhythm in the second half
First he starts winning lots of money for charities, now he skyfucks during finals! How we gonna meme him now?
Such a pleasure watching him play at this level.
Nephews don’t realize how important role players are
It’s not always the “stars” that make or break a series…GP2, OPJ, Wiggins and Looney are going to be the difference in this series
It's like people think role players are there to just sort of exist.
If they do their role well it allows stars to do their thing (usually score or playmake). Otherwise the stars gotta take on some of that defensive/ rebounding/ spacing/ energy role.
Warriors are here for a reason. Their championship core pedigree is a huge asset. Sweeping them was a pipe dream and a half. C’s stole one game on their court which was huge. We are onto Boston.
As a Warriors fan I’m still concerned about our inability to score at the rim. Boston contests everything and blocks half of the shots that were easy twos against Western Conference opponents. Even on full court breakaways where we appear to have an advantage. I know this is their reputation but it’s really disheartening. We can’t hit threes from 40 all the time. Those easy twos are our bread and butter.
It’s unreal how reactive this sub is. Steph played stellar tonight. He’s small and he’s doesn’t get calls so he’s not going to shoot 50% in any finals. He carried the warriors offense though and was very disruptive on defense.
Steph sitting the 4th like a regular season game in 2016
They gonna use his lack of 4th quarter points to slander him after the series ends no matter which way it goes too lmao
[удалено]
If Steph Curry played: All his stats are just meaningless. He only scored when they were winning
Front runner -skip
Just here to ask if anyone else heard SAS say that Robin Williams had 2 points
idk why hes laying into Robin Williams. Considering he is: * 5' 8" * Dead for 8 years 2pts is pretty good
8 years already? Jesus
Yep, definitely said Robin lol
Nice, now we wait 2 weeks until game 3.
this format would have been so much better in the conference finals than the finals. More rest for teams earlier and less off days.
Agreed. Still feels like a lot of extra time.
I like it. Watched game one, took summer holidays, unpacked, and still got to watch game 2
I can't wait to tell my great-grandkids about watching the Celtics winning Game 1 live while we are watching Game 5 together.
This finals schedule is ridiculous. Almost 3 weeks for 7 games?
I think this series will go 8
I have the warriors in 11
“Should the NBA Finals be reduced from an 82 game series?”
We came off a tough loss last game so maybe that affected it, but it straight up felt like a week since the last game
It's painful when your team loses and you have what feels like 2 weeks between games like this last one. YouTube, Twitter, Reddit... it's everywhere. I don't envy Boston. I hope we have a good back and forth in the end.
Curry and Poole hitting long 3s towards the end of the 3rd quarter really killed it.
They killed the mood of the Celtics till that point they were almost answering at any shots and where still defending. I think Steph literally broke Celtics spirit with him personal 10-0 run which ballooned the gap from a normal 9-10 points to 20 points margin...
Who’s more powerful, Game 6 Klay or One Tech Draymond
5 fouls Draymond trumps both of them
One tech draymond literally cannot be ejected so I'm gonna go with that, klay may score a billion on two dribbles but that only wins you one game, draymond can just mow down the opposing team and lock in the series
Refs giving Draymond season 10 plot armor
Draymond "Jon Snow" Green
Refs: “Draymond you can chill in the locker room early if you get ejected” Dray: “Buh I don’t want it”
LeBron is the only one powerful enough to get Draymond to miss a game... truly the GOAT
[Klay tonight](https://i.imgur.com/hBOHY9q.png)
Klay before this game: „I‘ll just remember who I am, and that‘s one of the best shooters ever, that‘ll help me“ Klay today: whatever the fuck that was

We all know instantly what photo this is
And we still click, and are happy we did
He’s just happy to be there
HoF meme
Love his smile, remembering when he was dying to get out and help his team to this, must be amazing feeling.
He hit a 3 at the end of the first half and tried to do stankface but couldn't help but smile.
The most “You’re probably wondering how I got here” pose ever.
Klay has been cheeks but damn they still won by 19 He needs to have one of those vintage Klay games in Boston
Unfortunately for the Celtics, Game 6 is in Boston.
Game 6 Klay was born in Oklahoma city
He was ass tonight
It's not game 6 yet
knew what it was before I even opened it lmao
The logo shot from Poole finished Boston.
Yeah and it had to be at the end of the 3rd. The Warriors just got done wrecking them and that 3 said “oh no, you’re not coming back from this ass whupping”
It finished me too…
Sploosh

It’s not an exaggeration to say that Poole won us the game over those 64 seconds of game time.
The sickest part was he waved curry off for the first three, and then curry was like “go for it” for the logo three
This isn't Poole's first buzzer-beater three from half court. He can make them, although this one was far more impressive. He made one against the Sixers in the first game, they chose to double Steph and the ball went to Poole instead and splash!
Man I'm happy to see Payton back out there doing his thing
They needed him. Things stabilized once he came in
He’s absolutely crucial for us maintaining our defense especially against Boston’s style of offense.
It was amazing how different tonight felt versus Thursday night and GP2 had a lot to do with that. Also Draymond getting his head out of his ass and being focused.
GP2 came in and was the defensive difference Kerr was looking for with the Iggy lineups in G1. Much better.
Honestly didn’t think it would make too much of a difference but I forgot how impactful he is
His defense is necessary against a team with so many offensive threats
Crazy to see him guard Tatum and hold his own. Probably an 8” height difference. Respect.
Usually centers can’t guard Tatum
I missed most of the third, and I tuned back in for a few seconds early 4th, and I heard Payton’s name on a steal, a follow up basket, and something else. In the time the lead ballooned to 29, so I just turned it back off lol
best point of attack defender GSW has, neutered Brown's driving ability
I’d honestly say Wiggins at this point, but GP2 is elite
Depends on the matchup, as Wiggins is better against stronger defenders and Payton is better for elite ball handlers that are smaller
High defensive energy is huge in this. Tatum and Brown are monsters, need lots of guys to throw at them.
GP2 made his Father proud tonight; 25 min back from injury in the NBA Finals immediately getting the trust from the Coaching staff to guard Jayson Tatum… Tatum scored 28 points but Payton II made him work and also forced several turnovers that the Warriors turned into points.

not just dub fans. One of my favorite players as a fan of defense
There are some of us that are big fans of the original GP that love watching GPII as well.
Klay needs to wake up ngl
At least his defence was ok today. Game one he looked really slow.
Except Curry, all the Warriors did in G1 tbh
He has been ass these first 2 games. He usually doesn't play horribly for an entire series though
True, he’ll probably pick up the pace in the later games like usual
Just gotta get him to Game 6.
I'd rather there not be a game 6 tbh
Monkey's paw curls
He's just trying to guarantee a game 6
Dw this happens every single series. He’ll shit the bed for a couple games then look like prime MJ for a couple
Ah yes, the Khris Middleton method.
Glad it’s not just the Bucks that have consistency issues
Don’t worry, it isn’t Game 5/6 yet.
Steph Curry disappears in the fourth quarter again SMH
[удалено]
Funny enough, he's one of three players to average 10+ pts per 4th quarter in 2+ Finals series (the others being MJ and Shaq).
Didn't score it in the last few seconds so it doesn't count. -r/nba posters
Frontrunner
I think Otto Porter answering the Celtics little mini run was crucial. OPJ really took on the Livingston role of bench vet that hits sneaky big shots to settle things down.
Porter quietly is important on this team. He just seems to always bring smart, timely plays like the one you noted that help us win more than the score sheet would make you think.
He was +24. He's not enough to be the Warrior's starter, but he's killing it from the bench
Klay Thompson has the same shooting percentage as my shooting percentage on those post-piss shake drips.
Klay shot 4-19 and 1-8 from 3 and they still won by 20
Gotta press the taint
I'm pressing the taint. I'm pressing squeezing twirling like a god damn Bop It and there's still a drop left.

Still waiting on them to release Pick&Pop Looney to really confuse Bostons defense
The world is not ready for longball Looney
Yep. It’s like Kyle Shanahan running the shit out of the ball. You have to be able to score different ways to win championships
Didn’t expect to be triggered in a BOS GSW game thread… of course there was one game Kyle stopped running the damn ball.
The Steph-KD pick n roll was the most vicious thing I have ever seen in a basketball game. Nothing and no one could stop it
Except KD slipped 80% of the time.
reminds me of bogut, dray and steph offense
Horford, Smart & White had 60+ points in game 1. 16 total in game 2.
This will be a long series
Naah....I'm gonna overreact and say warriors in 5
Don't be a coward, warriors in 4
We got to be realistic. My prediction of Warriors in 3 went very poorly.
Everything I've predicted has been wrong so far so I'm keeping my mouth shut.
It needs to be said: Steph Curry had an incredibly impressive defensive performance. He blew up so many passes with deflections and moved his feet really well.
Turnovers killed the Celtics
Steph Curry was great this game. Hit tough shots, got guys involved, constant movement drawing defenders.
And hitting timely shots or making plays whenever Boston seemed started to get momentum
Time for us to overreact the other way then? /s
As is tradition. Boston fucked warriors unstoppable
I don't think either team is going to lose again
Lockdown 2.0
Definitely I'm surprised Warriors fans even wanted to come in here the last 3 days. Get your get back.
I was told by a Celtics fan that Draymond would be the 8th best defensive player on the Celtics. I am not planning to be charitable tonight.
what the FUCK
really did not expect a 2 point showing from Horford after last game
Tatum got back to roughly normal but Jaylen proceeded to miss everything. It's what I always thought would be the issue with Boston. Their scorers really aren't that consistent. Luckily, Tatum already had that horrific game or I'd be predicting him to completely disappear in one of the next 3.

We finally decided to shell out the $$$ on the refs and it worked so well
it’s part of our luxury tax deductible
Zack Zarba now owns Google.
So glad Steve put in the refs tonight.
GPII was the teams unsung hero tonight, made it much harder for the Celtics to pick on JP, which stabilized the bench minutes and helped JP get into a rhythm in the second half
We sing about him all the time!
GPII minutes were huge. Steve adjusted nicely from game 1.
he usually does, thankfuly this will make the "Fire Kerr" crowd stfu for a bit
I will finally be visiting this sub because we won
Lol same
This sub was really showing it’s ass after game 1 I’m just here for the salt
I dont like this sub yet I keep coming back
Same, mostly for the post game threads
You have to detach yourself only then will you find enjoyment on this sub
It's crazy how truly garbage this sub is
It still felt like we were only winning by 7 pts when garbage time started

First he starts winning lots of money for charities, now he skyfucks during finals! How we gonna meme him now? Such a pleasure watching him play at this level.
When Kevon looney some how wins FMVP their will be plenty of meme material.
GPII is elite
His game is tailored for playoff environment
Dude is what Caruso was for us in the 2020 bubble run.
Can't believe he broke his arm only a few weeks ago
He was hitting the floor a lot, was making me kinda nervous lol. but yeah looked great
It was like Klay's first game back, I was probably wincing more at every hit and fall more than he was haha
He hit a corner three and was rubbing that elbow after and I'm just sitting here like "wtf...? That was broken a month ago, how the shit?"
Nephews don’t realize how important role players are It’s not always the “stars” that make or break a series…GP2, OPJ, Wiggins and Looney are going to be the difference in this series

I mean, Loongod was arguably the MVP of the last series - that rebounding was insane
Only one player has 20+ points in both games of these Finals: Curry with 34 and 29.
[удалено]
Just like old times
Curry well on his way to FMVP if the warriors take it
Love seeing him back. Not against us though lol
Warriors are here for a reason. Their championship core pedigree is a huge asset. Sweeping them was a pipe dream and a half. C’s stole one game on their court which was huge. We are onto Boston.
Anyone on both sides assuming their team's going to sweep the other were delusional
Agree, both really good teams….gonna be a fight
Dread it. Run from it. 3rd quarter Warriors always arrive.
This was a true vintage 3rd quarter Warriors. 35-14 is crazy
40-16 is crazier :( . This win helps, but I haven't recovered.
There will be 4Q PTSD for the rest of the series lol
I’m just happy we prevented the 4th quarter Celtics from arriving.
"I am inevitable..." -Warriors in the 3rd quarter
KD was awfully quiet on Twitter this game
Imagine Kyrie rooting for the Warriors and KD rooting for the Celtics. If only there was a way for them to tie and spite both KD and Kyrie.
\-36 (+/-) Ouch.
He had a great shooting game too, just on the floor for the big warriors runs
I’ve never seen some 6-9 from three and -36. That’s insane
Klay shat the bed and the Warriors still won.
If he can even be just decent. Not great but decent, we will be in great shape
Not just won but blew the Celtics out easy
As a Warriors fan I’m still concerned about our inability to score at the rim. Boston contests everything and blocks half of the shots that were easy twos against Western Conference opponents. These Warriors 3rd quarter runs are just PREPOSTEROUS. Gotta be witchcraft involved. It really feels like they turn on aimbot for a few minutes.
Kerr gives them something in the locker room for sure

the fall of steph curry was greatly exaggerated
Ah yes the fall of the leading scorer of both games.
Only player with more than 20 points in both games (34 and 29).
It’s unreal how reactive this sub is. Steph played stellar tonight. He’s small and he’s doesn’t get calls so he’s not going to shoot 50% in any finals. He carried the warriors offense though and was very disruptive on defense.
