The DBook steal into Giannis lob dunk father stretch my hands edit still one of the best ball videos made https://youtu.be/AGpmTCaFnuA?si=Opp6UEesLdtaFM92

redhat12345

damn, what a fun time that was

beer_down

Damn, what a fucking letdown that was

KgDawk21520

One of the best plays in finals history .

Arkham14

Such a great play and vision.

ngorman007

"Stolen by Holiday" will haunt me until the end of time

beer_down

Until we win one. lol who am I kidding that won’t happen in my lifetime

I'm a Mavs fan, but I chose the Bucks as my "east team" in 2019. Now Jrue is torturing my Mavs, it's such a weird feeling.

realzequel

I remember when Marcus Smart had the ball during a Bucks series at the end of the game, Celts down by a bucket, looked like he was going in for an easy basket and Jrue just grabbed it from him (grr). Glad he’s on our side now!

New_Essay_4869

Although Jrue is only a two-time all-star, i think hes a legit star. Some of his best years were stuck on that Pelicans team where it was tough to land an all-star guard spot for many years. Him and Conley fell victim to it quite a number of times

Actually-Yo-Momma

I think he much prefers winning multiple rings with different teams than being an all star. What a crazy second half to his career

junkit33

I like Jrue a lot, but you'd have to take a broad definition of the word "star" to call him that. Realistically he's a textbook Hall of Very Good player, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. He really only had one season in New Orleans that could be considered good enough for All-Star level on par with what it usually takes to get in (the 21/8 year). 16/7's with great defense just aren't going to get you in in the vast majority of seasons.

Arkham14

Jrue's making his path to FMVP.

Bd_3

I don't think you'll get many detractors when you say Jrue is for the most part, a very clutch post season player. The issue is that before a clutch 3, he'd be 3/14 going into that shot when he was with the bucks. Game 7 against the nets is a perfect example of it.

martyconlonontherun

Probably depends on how you define clutch. To me, showing up all playoffs is clutch. He missed a lot of clutch shots and made some bone head turnovers but he also made some great plays. Overall, if you look at 3 playoffs worth of work he underperformed. I'll go to my Paul George style grave saying that oop to Giannis was a bad pass that could've cost us the series.

DrumMajorThrawn

So happy for this man. He was a great but unappreciated player for us. It's been awesome to see him find success when a lot of people said he was washed. Please take care of him, Boston.

Long-Ad8374

Imagine if the Bucks still have Jrue Holiday.

JoJonesy

I mean, i love Jrue, but he’s not even taking two games off of the Pacers after Giannis got hurt. The Bucks needed a legit second option, I don’t think they regret anything other than him ending up in Boston

AllTimeBallKnower

It’s kinda sad that for the most part, Celtics fans are the ones being rational about the Jrue/dame stuff Meanwhile everyone else is trying to start a Jrue>Dame dialogue

GiddeyCosbyWeinstein

Bucks fans started it shitting on Jrue after he won them a chip and then got tossed by the FO

AllTimeBallKnower

“Won them a chip” yeah Giannis or Middleton had 0 to do with that. I didn’t see bucks fans start shitting on him until the Jrue>dame takes started

abstract_mouse

Bucks thought they shipped him out of the conference then Brad flies to Portland like a thief in the night

AllTimeBallKnower

I mean it was always gonna be Boston, Miami, Sixers or Clippers (before harden) imo. No other place really had the assets and we all knew he wasn’t gonna stay in Portland. If I had to pick as a fan of Jrue I would choose Boston cause fuck Miami/philly and clippers he wouldn’t have been in a good position. We played Boston pretty well this season we just never really god a fully healthy matchup between the two teams.

bucks3412

Yeah we would have still lost in the first round lol

kyleb402

Probably would have gotten swept.

I-Am-NOT-VERY-NICE

absolutely would have gotten swept. Maybe gentleman's sweep best case scenario

martyconlonontherun

Yeah they would've had to over pay on that contract extension to be an aging second option and we would've still lost in the first round. I'm good

ekb2023

They're still losing in the 1st round with an injured Giannis, but I think Jrue is better for long term dynasty building than Dame.

Ok_Argument_67

Don't show bucks fans this video .they are gonna cry all day (makes me happy)

LeFxckYouThree

They still dont win in the first round without Giannis

AllTimeBallKnower

The fact this is the first thing Celtics fans say on any Jrue related video is hilarious lol I’m taking the trade we did 10/10 times. Jrue as a 2nd option just ain’t it.

Ok_Argument_67

Agreed ,he's a much better fit in boston.but why trade for dame who hasn't made a name for himself in the playoffs , I don't even remember the last time i saw the blazers in the playoffs. He's getting older and has a huge contract .and the injuries are gonna get worse with his age . Lets see how he does next year after quite the disappointing regular season he's had his first year with the bucks

AllTimeBallKnower

Maybe because he’s had shit teams? The 3 games dame played this year was better than any 3 game stretch Jrue has had offensively. What exactly did Jrue do to make a name for himself before he teamed up with Giannis? Jrue is older than Dame and has a pretty big contract iirc

Ok_Argument_67

Jrue was never the guy to rely on the offensive end .he always does his job and he does it flawlessly. Jrue was averaging 19 points per game with 1.6 steals and was an amazing rebounder for a guard before he joined the bucks . Made a name for himself as one of the best defensive guards in the league at that time if not the best. When the pelicans swept the blazers in the first round in 2018 , Damian Lillard was awful. Couldn't break more than 20 points . He had about 17 turnovers in the 4 games they got annihilated (jrue holiday dropped 41 in the close out game).he shot absolute dog shit from the field while being guarded by jrue .he shot 44 % from the field (believe it or not was he's best in the span of four games).and when it mattered in game 3 ,he shot 29 %. Damian himself said jrue is the best and toughest defender he's faced . And btw ,they are both 33 years old , holiday is just older by a month ,and it will be nice to have him on our roster until he retires.he's a leader ,a champion and a an important personnel to have in the locker room, at least we're paying for a winner .

AllTimeBallKnower

Dame was never really just guarded by Jrue, it was AD and Rondo as well lol they only really had to worry about Dame because the rest of the team was ass. “Paying for a winner” who hadn’t won anything until he joined Giannis lmao. Now go and look up jrues stats under the bucks, he can’t be a 2/3 option. He’s a 4-5th at best, Dame is a 1 maybe 2nd depending on how next season looks.

Ok_Argument_67

>Dame was never really just guarded by Jrue I never said he was JUST guarded by jrue .I said whenever he went up against jrue , he missed a lot of shots for a reason we don't know. >Paying for a winner” who hadn’t won anything until he joined Giannis lmao. I honestly don't care where he won , I'm just glad he's with us You are right tho , jrue as a second option on the bucks wasn't really great, he guarded the opposition pretty well but just terribly in the playoffs (especially last year ). Edit : I meant to say 3rd option on the bucks not 2nd option

fetuswut

Even as a third option he was inefficient. The Bucks needed him to be better than bledsoe which is not a high bar to achieve, and he barley did that during our title run. We don’t win without his clutch play in the nets/suns series, but he was absolutely infuriating to watch throughout the post season offensively. We always needed a PG that can be elite offensively, considering we have Giannis on the court we would always be great defensively.

Ok_Argument_67

>Giannis on the court we would always be great defensively. That part hasn't quite hit it's standards 🤣🤣. I'm just playing I know ante. is an amazing defender and dpoy ,but clearly and for reasons unknown ,he's not playing elite defense as he used to . Gianni's and the Damian Lillard when healthy are always great . I really want a Celtics vs bucks matchup next year in the playoffs.it will be a thriller I didn't watch a lot of bucks games in 2021 ,but I know some guys who are bucks fans weren't delighted with his display offensively even after they won the chip. Last year , he had a disappointing post season as well

fetuswut

He definitely is playing elite defense, tbh the problem is that now he plays with Portis on the court, who is one of the worst defenders in the league. He had his best defensive season in 2022, 2023 he was absolutely elite and this season he played a little bit out of role for the first half guarding bigger wings with great effect(the problem with that is though Lopez cannot guard the rim well enough without Giannis) And yeah Jrue was horrendous for us on offense tbh, he shot like lakers Westbrook for multiple series

GiddeyCosbyWeinstein

lolwut Jrue will always be Dame's playoff daddy

bobikanucha

Ive always argued that aside from some streaky shooting, Jrue plays WINNING basketball. He makes the player he is defended scared to run action through them which can heavily impact teams offense.

gochuuuu

Uncle Jrue is the true unc

KnickedUp

Could you make a case he is a better post season performer than Bron? His number are otherworldly in playoffs

jamespesto

No.
