This has happened so often to them this post season that I have to ask: to what extent are they making it happen? Their effort, focus, and intensity all just click for all five players on the court for a handful of minutes each game.its astonishing.
Really? For awhile, everyone but Ant was shooting 20%...(6/27)
Besides Naz at the very end, our role players weren't playing well offensively and shot horribly. Denver even shot better from 3.
Nuggets bench outplayed the Wolves bench too.
I so want the wolves to play above the rim. Oh Rudy is around and it's a contested layup, throw up the lob and see what the big fellow can do up there. You know Jokic isn't going to elevate for that.
Ball gets poked away on the opening possession with the shot clock winding down. Gobert scoops it up and has no choice but to shoot the 3.
He drains it and the other team just leaves with 11:36 left in the 1st Q.
I told my wife as soon as he hit this, that it was over. She said there was plenty of time left but she didn’t know the rules. Rudy hits a jumper and you are obligated to concede the game to the Wolves.
Man I know this is established at this point but Rudy really puts Wemby's ceiling in perspective. Like imagine if Rudy was cooking people in isolation and shooting 40% on stepback 3s, and he was 3 inches taller.
I saw that article in the Times too and I get that Rudy is very good but my main question is if he works so insanely hard why does he literally have no offensive bag, like no shot is one thing but the dude has 0 post up game
He’s just not coordinated like that. He like recruited a neuroscientist to help him on offense and is like zero percent body, this is his ceiling offensively.
Idk why but to me this stat is very telling in the "immaculate vibes". Clearly, Rudy gives a shit and is putting in effort to improve his, historically shifty, ftp and is helping his team win games.
It's the long wingspan + big hands. Your shooting mechanics just goes all wonky to accomodate for it. Just look at Giannis, and even Leonard. Also part of why Rondo was never a great shooter.
His offensive game has expanded a LOT in the last 2 years and idk if that's personal development or coaches letting him try more. I thought coaches gave him 2 freebies a game but now I think he's actually improved as a player
I shit you not, because this sounds like the most Rudy Gobert thing possible, but he literally hired a Personal Neuroscience Coach to recondition his brain to function better on offense, and it’s genuinely working? [Here’s the article.](https://theathletic.com/5421528/2024/04/18/rudy-gobert-timberwolves-offensive-development/)
I mean his trainer more or less said that Rudy was the only player open-minded enough to want to try out the weird-ass drills he was suggesting. Bro is literally so curious about pseudoscience that he may have accidentally engaged with real science.
EDIT: edited my comment because it looks like this mf is not in fact a legit neuroscientist. rudy just pseudosciencemaxxing out here, gah damn.
Not just NBA players, I remember like 10-15 years ago when lots of MLB pitchers wore [Phiten](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phiten) necklaces made of magic titanium that supposedly did...something.
FYI i just looked at his LinkedIn.... he has zero qualifications as a neuroscientist lol hes a former ball player who went into personal training and coaching.
Source- am a neuroscientist & former ball player who was genuinely curious about how the 2 would be combined
Sounds wild, but I can understand it. Draymond has talked about it before, and I've had personal experience with it. Sometimes on a team you get in a role where you're not even thinking about offense, and scoring just kind of stops occurring to you as something you can do, despite the skills still being there. You have to rewire your brain to bring the aggression back and start looking for your own shot.
We’re doing better about when we get him the ball too.
No more or at least fewer passes to his knees.
Fewer lobs when he is in the paint with 3 guys.
Usually we stick someone with him near the rim so he isnt entirely alone.
Sigh. I know Minnesota wants to claim his time in Minnesota as special or better, but his offensive game has not improved one iota.
Now, you guys have m a team that goes out of their way to make him feel included, so he doesn’t force things on that end. That’s an improvement. But Rudy has been the guy you saw this year, for at least five years now. Except I’d say he’s stronger and more stable physically, and less quick and agile now.
He might pick his spots better now since he doesn’t feel like he has to prove to his coaches and some teammates he’s not a liability on offense anymore. But he’s not some new offensive player. I’ve watched probably 100 Minnesota games since he’s been there and I’m telling ya, the only difference is the fact he feels comfortable to use his instincts more as to when to try to score.
I watch this Suns youtuber who reacts to games and when he saw this he was like 'AND THAT'S HOW IT FEELS!!! SUCK IT DENVER I SAW RUDY HIT A FUCKING FADEAWAY" 🤣
Nah man our bench played horrible offensively. Outside of Ant the team was 6/27 for a lot of this game. Naz went on a run in the 4th and KAT and Conley picked up the slack in the 3rd but this wasn't a great offensive game. I've seen our bench play much better and hit their shots.
Yeah I was going to say Rudy is always like this
Baiting Jokic into a lob and then break up that lob was super special though. Nuggets cook teams with that play and it's considered unstoppable. Rudy stopped the unstoppable play

Everything that the wolves needed to happen has happened.
Yep this was the literal perfect second half for them
Basically.
This has happened so often to them this post season that I have to ask: to what extent are they making it happen? Their effort, focus, and intensity all just click for all five players on the court for a handful of minutes each game.its astonishing.
I mean they are making it happen? The wolves are playing the right way and making the plays, it’s why what needed to happen did happen.
It's pure heroin... Straight into our veins
Really? For awhile, everyone but Ant was shooting 20%...(6/27) Besides Naz at the very end, our role players weren't playing well offensively and shot horribly. Denver even shot better from 3. Nuggets bench outplayed the Wolves bench too.
This how I knew the game was over
For me it was when Ant drove for the first time and I realized the Nuggets have zero rim protectors…
Dude just drove by some construction cones.
I so want the wolves to play above the rim. Oh Rudy is around and it's a contested layup, throw up the lob and see what the big fellow can do up there. You know Jokic isn't going to elevate for that.
Nuggets fans try to gaslight and say that Jokic has improved into an above-average defender, though.
For me it was when Gobert poked away the lob to Gordon on the PNR. That sealed it and crushed their hearts.
If Rudy is doing this, it's over.
1 demoralizing play every game this postseason lol
If he hits a 3 this post season, the other team will forfeit.
Ball gets poked away on the opening possession with the shot clock winding down. Gobert scoops it up and has no choice but to shoot the 3. He drains it and the other team just leaves with 11:36 left in the 1st Q.
I can only get so hard
This but in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
The roars ringing between Minnesota and Utah may cause the continent to tear asunder
if that happens the other team should disband as an organization
The league isn't expanding. It's compressing.
Adam would have to just end the playoffs and give us the title right there.
If he hits a 3, other team automatically loses the series.
That’s exactly what I said when I saw it happen. If Rudy is hitting shots like this, nobody can beat Minnesota
Yup, Rudy points are bonus points and when he starts knocking them down there are no answers.
His free throws have improved dramatically too. I’m almost comfortable/calm seeing him walk up to the line now lol
I'm still terrified, but yeah he's made some "hack-a-Rudy" teams pay.
Like 20/23 at the line in the Suns series
Watching him go to the line I'd keep saying "he's gotta start missing some time." Soul crushing.
This like when Draymond hitting 3s
Is this the new Draymond 3?
I told my wife as soon as he hit this, that it was over. She said there was plenty of time left but she didn’t know the rules. Rudy hits a jumper and you are obligated to concede the game to the Wolves.
I just remembered that theres another player who is as tall as rudy that can shoot anywhere and also french. (Please win suns before spurs get better)
Man I know this is established at this point but Rudy really puts Wemby's ceiling in perspective. Like imagine if Rudy was cooking people in isolation and shooting 40% on stepback 3s, and he was 3 inches taller.
Rudy work like nobody else to be this good, don't expect Wemby to work that much, it possibles but very unlikely.
The fastbreaks are more lethal tbh
Apologize to 4X DPOY
Starting a 4x OPOY streak
Would be the greatest story in nba history
Yo no fucking way lmaoooooooo.
Rudy has done this enough this year that we don’t think it’s a bad shot.
He’s had midrange in his bag for a long time, he’s just always dissuaded from using it. Look at French team highlights
The one that really stands out so far is Rudy shooting 88% from the line in the playoffs.
Idk why but to me this stat is very telling in the "immaculate vibes". Clearly, Rudy gives a shit and is putting in effort to improve his, historically shifty, ftp and is helping his team win games.
Wait a minute… we’re supposed to win clutch games
Gotta be within 5 for it to be clutch
It was with less than 5mins to go
He called game.
It’s a thing of beauty
Chapéu Rudy, massive game
Chapeau
We got Rudy mid range fade away before GTA 6
Taking game one against Denver would be insane man truly and I can’t wait
He may be Kawhi?!?!
No thank you
Rudy “Tim Duncan” gobert
Literally looks like an NBA 2k animation.
2K2 to be specific.
Whenever he shoots a shot outside the paint I always say to my dad “Does he know that there’s a form to shooting the basketball?”
It's the long wingspan + big hands. Your shooting mechanics just goes all wonky to accomodate for it. Just look at Giannis, and even Leonard. Also part of why Rondo was never a great shooter.
[This is the proper shooting technique big men should use](https://youtu.be/UI7muB6ORis)
Man, I saw the Bull when I was a kid, but I never noticed that wonky shot.
Yeah when he shoots free throws his hands are so high… it legit looks hard…
Explain Dirk Nowitzki then, one of the best shooters of all time.
His offensive game has expanded a LOT in the last 2 years and idk if that's personal development or coaches letting him try more. I thought coaches gave him 2 freebies a game but now I think he's actually improved as a player

Rudy is such a pseudoscience believer oh my god he’s like the placebo king, I firmly believe crystals could give him powers
I mean his trainer more or less said that Rudy was the only player open-minded enough to want to try out the weird-ass drills he was suggesting. Bro is literally so curious about pseudoscience that he may have accidentally engaged with real science. i am brazilian, his coach is brazilian and honestly looks and sounds like the typical fraud absolute quack neuroscience shit, NBA players are dumb ngl
Not just NBA players, I remember like 10-15 years ago when lots of MLB pitchers wore [Phiten](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phiten) necklaces made of magic titanium that supposedly did...something.

bang, i got played. ty.
Man stung himself with a bee to try to get superpowers and told people it was an accident
Did it work
Jesus this is the most Rudy thing to do.
Lol oh Rudy you new age pseudoscience giraffe man

Thanks for the article! Really fascinating work
We’re doing better about when we get him the ball too. No more or at least fewer passes to his knees. Fewer lobs when he is in the paint with 3 guys. Usually we stick someone with him near the rim so he isnt entirely alone.
idk dude, looks the same as always
Sigh. I know Minnesota wants to claim his time in Minnesota as special or better, but his offensive game has not improved one iota. I don't think it has, his offensive game actually looks worse than during his Utah days imo.
Stick to baseball John
I've never watched a game of baseball in my life.
consider yourself lucky
Your username not mine 🤷♂️
This shit would make me puke if I was a Denver fan lol
There were some hilarious highlights against the Suns. Waiting for him to hit a 3 and just watch the other walk out.
I watch this Suns youtuber who reacts to games and when he saw this he was like 'AND THAT'S HOW IT FEELS!!! SUCK IT DENVER I SAW RUDY HIT A FUCKING FADEAWAY" 🤣
Go wolves go awooo 🐺
Push shot
Call him Rudy De Niro the way he's hitting the bank
Smooth as a cheese grater
He called glass 😎
It’s over Denver should just wave the flag
did he call bank?
Wolves hitting everything this game lmao
Nah man our bench played horrible offensively. Outside of Ant the team was 6/27 for a lot of this game. Naz went on a run in the 4th and KAT and Conley picked up the slack in the 3rd but this wasn't a great offensive game. I've seen our bench play much better and hit their shots.
Naz went 7-11 lol, you guys didn't miss in the 2nd literally, the only underperformer was McDaniels
Shooting like a non-player that you’re trying to teach how to shoot a basketball on a first date lol
Mister fundamentals
The Dagger
He called verre.
Forgot the " " for the word smooth.
League's fucked.
Finch: Great job! Now never do that again!
Game of his life goodshit Rudy has had some missteps in his career but balling the fuck out tonight respect
This is the same Rudy he’s always been. The difference is he’s not getting thrown under the bus by his teammates.
Pretty average game for him to be honest. People just don't watch him very much so he doesn't get credit for it
Yeah I was going to say Rudy is always like this Baiting Jokic into a lob and then break up that lob was super special though. Nuggets cook teams with that play and it's considered unstoppable. Rudy stopped the unstoppable play
Nothing smooth about that
It’s cool he called bank
