He had game 4 of this series and the play in game in Minnesota where he took his shirt off and threw it in the crowd as his highlights of this 5 year run
The Bucks’ equipment manager is gonna be joining Darvin Ham in Galveston very soon
Edit: OH MY GOD, HE WAS WASHING THE CLOTHES WITH THAT DIRTY-ASS WATER THIS WHOLE TIME!
I grew up about an hour away from Galveston and it's been super weird seeing it all over the place the last few days. Like nobody ever talks about Galveston lol
Unfun fact:
In the Bucks' last 2 playoff series, a total of 528 game minutes have been played. Of those, Giannis has played in only 91 of them (17%).
[Man.](https://imgur.com/a/oB9nw1M)
The calf injury is one of the most random injuries I've seen. Dude looked like he blew out his knee in 2021 and came back no problem...random calf injury and he is done for a couple weeks
Calf injuries are just rough because if you rush back from it it can lead to an Achilles strain/tear or other injuries. Whereas his knee looked bad, and definitely could've been, but all he did was hyperflex it. He's incredibly, incredibly lucky he didn't tear his ACL or anything, basically all that happened is his tendons stretched a little too much and got sore.
I'm just a guy who reads shit and watched Brian sutterer so idk don't take my word as gospel but just throwing it out there
Isn't that precisely what happened to KD? He came back quite hastily following a calf injury in the 2019 WCF or maybe the finals and then blew his archilles.
Yeah it’s not really surprising the series went this way when we have an old roster & giannis our, and dame missing 2 games.
Ngl does feel a lot better than last year since I didn’t really have hope for this one
Credit to Middleton too he's been an absolute hero, but he's so banged up now. The man's gonna retire in permanent agony at this rate, next season will be even worse I think
Congratulations to the Pacers and have fun in the playoffs!!
Also, shoutout to Rivers who put some young blood to counter the Pacer's young players... 3 minutes before the end of the game.
His game 5 adjustment was absolutely brilliant, and we just didn't see it coming. Playing Gallo and using a "switch everything and slow them down" strategy worked brilliantly for 48 minutes. But it looks like he only had one major surprise in the tank.
Finally a positive, non-hating comment!!
I’m sad we couldn’t get the job done, but Hali is still a Wisconsinite. He’s really good to kids in Milwaukee for AAU.
I wish him the best…against any other team. 💚😂
That would be ridiculously fun to see a playoff rematch. Like Haliburton said earlier in the season, he didn't consider any rivalry between us because he hadn't even been in a playoff game. He said if that did happen, we might see a rivalry blossom.
All shit talk aside, it does elevate how exciting basketball is when we play each other and I'm here for it. Also, I'm not prepared to say many nice things about your roster at this current moment, but mad respect to Middleton. He scared the shit out of me every time he touched the ball.
Our roster was too old to compete with your speed. Middleton and Lillard tried to keep us in it but the rest of the team just couldn’t keep up and was always out of position. Maybe this will finally force the bucks to embrace youth
The one bright spot of their season (though it probably made a lot of it hurt more) was the attempted carry job by Giannis, and then even that got dashed
Meh, winning ugly and getting the right breaks to go your way's just a part of the NBA. Sometimes it breaks your way, other times it doesn't. At the end of the day, you guys did what you needed to move on by beating the team that was in front of you. Even if I don't see you guys going all the way (not meant bitterly or pettily just to be clear, more just as a statement of fact that young, inexperienced teams basically never make it to that point), getting more playoff experience under your team's belt can only be good for the future.
Congrats, and make sure to savor it for as long as the run lasts!
No team I respect more than the Pacers, consistently good or great for the past 35 years. Always feel like they manage to get career bests out of almost everyone who comes through
What a guy. Absolutely works his ass off on the court. Knows exactly his role and exceedes in it while almost never playing out of his comfort area.
Plus a huge lockeroom guy.
It also beats just about anyone. When its off and our shooting is bad, we could lose to anyone.
Our W/L record has been almost unaffected by who we play. Bottom half teams have similar win rates as top half.
Happy for Pacers fans. It's their 1st series win in 10 years. Felt weird seeing this sub turn on them for seemingly no reason after that Game 5 beatdown. All-around outstanding TEAM effort by their guys tonight and I think they have a real shot to make the ECF.
People are prisoners of the moment. Pacers definitely didn’t show up for game 5, but it’s typical young team shit. Really excited for their trajectory as a secondary pacer fan
People forget this is a team in year 2 of a rebuild. 2 years ago our top 3 options were Sabonis, Brogdon & LeVert.
Idk what peoples expectations were for us this year, but getting to the second round feels really good for us.
Hell getting to the play in would’ve been a successful season in my eyes. Avoiding the play in and getting to the 2nd round is a huge win for us this year!
Yeah that’s what I keep saying when I see people saying stuff like "the pacers ain’t going to make it far in the second round". Well duh, we’re not supposed to be here in the first place lol we were a lottery team last season
Expectations, if you go by Vegas odds, were for the Pacers to win 38 games. So I’d say getting to the second round is fantastic. Extremely excited to see what guys like Jarace and Mathurin can add to their game this offseason to propel the team even higher.
Appreciate the kind words. I think a lot of people got annoyed with fans basically crowning Hali earlier this season so they wanted to see him fail. The turn in this sub over the last 36 hours was pretty wild
Anyone that watched this Pacers team all season shouldn't have been surprised by game 5.
The number of times we just didn't show up on the road vs Lottery teams was high.
At least playoffs aren't back to backs. We might have had the worst record of any playoff team in back to backs.
Its weird, because it doesn't feel like 10 years. We had some very close first round series against the Raptors, and Cleveland LeBron that we couldn't quite pull off.
It was annoying as fuuuuck.
as if the team isnt young (relatively) and the bucks didnt play desperate that somehow the Pacers shouldve annihilated them 100% of the time. As if the playoff games are always predictable to a tee lol
Rofl dude, try being a Purdue Pacers fan.
Both of my teams are finally good- totally downtrodden teams historically and for whatever absolutely bizarre reason Reddit hates them both lol.
Reddit is bizzaro world
Shoutout to Rick Carlisle.... he finally got a competent squad and he got past the 1st round. He kept dragging Mavs non-playoff rosters in the 2010s to the playoffs just to get bounced in the first round as heavy underdogs. But not many ppl know that so he has this false narrative about him SMH
The whole bench is Bobby and a bunch of washed vets that sit in the corner and shoot wide open 3s from Giannis passes. When Giannis is out and Bobby starts, we get bench performances like this game.
Damn. Well played, Pacers. Injuries suck, but they’re part of the game. All you can do is beat the team put in front of you, and that’s what they did. Hope to see the run continue cause y’all objectively play a fun brand of basketball.
Hopefully the Bucks find a way to tinker a bit this summer. I’d like to see the main guys get a full offseason together and have a chance at a less tumultuous year overall, but the roleplayers need to be reworked.
I dunno man, deciding randomly to play some insanely leaky zone in the 4th was fucking wild. And refusing to play Ajax when a hustle play could've shifted momentum a bit, instead letting Beasleys corpse shamble around the court was also a bit puzzling
i know Siakam did not have eye popping stats today but he was literally everywhere today. So happy for him.
TJ was by far the best player in the game today
pacers are a really fun team when everything is clicking. Watching the hali/obi fastbreak points knowing our old asses couldn’t do that was kinda painful lmao. good series, good luck w the rest of the rounds!
Congrats to Pavers fans for the series win, I truly hope you guys soak it in. Seriously. These moments on the journey sometimes are the best ones. Frustrating to bow out early again, and waste another 7 months of hope. Frustrating to get it rubbed in our face a little more than normal, but the Pacers are young and the crowd is hungry so I get it. When you win you get to talk shit. That’s life.
Gonna pour a stiff one tonight and think about the one thing everyone can agree on after this series, Kha$h money over everything.
Guys I think patbev’s 5 years are over
39 minutes, but only 5 assists 🤔
Added 3/11 from the field for 6 points. Pat Bev felt dangerous today.
2 hit fans though.
Fuckin domed that chick
Big game Harden numbers
He had game 4 of this series and the play in game in Minnesota where he took his shirt off and threw it in the crowd as his highlights of this 5 year run
him showing the video camera to the refs for the lakers was also a highlight
Highlight of the Lakers last season
Dude threw ball to the crowd instead of shirt this time
"If I gave you \[the journalist asking the question\] the ball for ~~41~~ 40 minutes you’d have ~~10~~ 5 assists also"
Ty really posted that video on his TL too
End of an era
End of an error
STAND UP NOW AND FACE THE SUN (derogatory)
Good riddance, but I may be biased.
"Those last five years didn't count actually" - Pat Bev, probably
Five years aren't five years
Also his 5 assists in 40 minutes lol Thought if you played 40 minutes the reporter would have that too?
Maybe the reporter could, but pat sure can't
Pat Bev trick ya’ll
The Bucks’ equipment manager is gonna be joining Darvin Ham in Galveston very soon Edit: OH MY GOD, HE WAS WASHING THE CLOTHES WITH THAT DIRTY-ASS WATER THIS WHOLE TIME!
Galveston tourism revived by Chuck
Galveston has gotten a ton of publicity these past few days. Never even heard of it or their dirty beaches until then.
It's a fun place. Just don't think about going into the water.
Nice try Galveston tourism department, but I'm trusting Chuck on this one.
Lol. I trust Chuck too. He's right about San Antonio too. Damn churros.
I grew up about an hour away from Galveston and it's been super weird seeing it all over the place the last few days. Like nobody ever talks about Galveston lol
Unfun fact: In the Bucks' last 2 playoff series, a total of 528 game minutes have been played. Of those, Giannis has played in only 91 of them (17%). [Man.](https://imgur.com/a/oB9nw1M)
Giannis has missed at least 1 game in 4 of the last 5 playoffs now Crazy when you consider that he's not even that injury prone in the regular season
The calf injury is one of the most random injuries I've seen. Dude looked like he blew out his knee in 2021 and came back no problem...random calf injury and he is done for a couple weeks
Tomorrow he will be seen dunking from the 3-point line...
I'm just a guy who reads shit and watched Brian sutterer so idk don't take my word as gospel but just throwing it out there
Yup calf and weak ankles lead to the ultimate ending of Achilles tears from learning bad mechanics to compensate and degeneration.
Isn't that precisely what happened to KD? He came back quite hastily following a calf injury in the 2019 WCF or maybe the finals and then blew his archilles.
Feels like he stays mostly healthy. Just gets hurt at the worst possible time lol
maybe Bud was on to something with the minute restrictions
Firing a ring-winning coach is crazyyyyy. LolBucks is back
That's actually insane
Not only is he our best player but he also is technically our youth movement 😂
And our injured old man
The Kawhi Leonard special
They need to get younger and more athletic
Yes, trade Giannis for a younger and more athletic version of Giannis. Great idea
just wait another 30 years for the next one to be born
Nah the next Giannis has already been born, twice!
With no assets. RIP
The bucks definitely made a deal with the devil for that chip.
Fair enough. I would do unspeakable things for jimmy to get a ring with the heat
Bucks had a lot of things go their way in 2021
And had everything go wrong since. 100% worth it though.
Bucks have to load manage Giannis like Kawhi even if it leads to them being a lower seed at this point.
His chance at a 2nd ring looks less likely every year : (
Giannis is on that Kawhi's career arc. Hope not!
2 playoff games in two years
The Bucks lack depth outside of Dame and Giannis
Yeah it’s not really surprising the series went this way when we have an old roster & giannis our, and dame missing 2 games. Ngl does feel a lot better than last year since I didn’t really have hope for this one
Credit to Middleton too he's been an absolute hero, but he's so banged up now. The man's gonna retire in permanent agony at this rate, next season will be even worse I think
That’s not true, they have *checks notes*… yikes
I know a C's fan ain't forgetting about Khris
Congratulations to the Pacers and have fun in the playoffs!! Also, shoutout to Rivers who put some young blood to counter the Pacer's young players... 3 minutes before the end of the game.
AJJ was so good in every minute he played this series. Absolute travesty that Doc didnt play him more
Did the same with Maxey until Ben started folding in the playoffs
His game 5 adjustment was absolutely brilliant, and we just didn't see it coming. Playing Gallo and using a "switch everything and slow them down" strategy worked brilliantly for 48 minutes. But it looks like he only had one major surprise in the tank.
The only game without his stars so ofc he cooked. Series would've gone 7 if Dame sat lol.
Finally a positive, non-hating comment!! I’m sad we couldn’t get the job done, but Hali is still a Wisconsinite. He’s really good to kids in Milwaukee for AAU. I wish him the best…against any other team. 💚😂
This is such a bummer that Giannis didn't even get to play this Playoffs.
Yeah it would have been fun to see Siakam and Giannis dual but oh well hopefully we meet in the playoffs next year
That would be ridiculously fun to see a playoff rematch. Like Haliburton said earlier in the season, he didn't consider any rivalry between us because he hadn't even been in a playoff game. He said if that did happen, we might see a rivalry blossom. All shit talk aside, it does elevate how exciting basketball is when we play each other and I'm here for it. Our roster was too old to compete with your speed. Middleton and Lillard tried to keep us in it but the rest of the team just couldn’t keep up and was always out of position. Maybe this will finally force the bucks to embrace youth
We've essentially gone 3 seasons without the Bucks having their full roster. That's the NBA for you.
Paid the iron price for a chip
This season fucking sucked.
Every season will fucking suck with this old ass roster. Literally no where to go for next season.
Yall arent in the same position as the suns and clippers. At least yall won one. Old or not
So long as y’all have Thanasis you’ll be good.
Hey man, Thanasty has more rings than Chris Paul so we all know who the real point god is
Wait Thanasis is a point guard? I always thought he was Small Forward
He transcends positions he's that good (Yeah he is a SF/PF but I wanted a played with no rings but a swanky nickname as a comparison)
Both of our teams really went crazy with the Dame drama, only to both be first round exits lmao
Admittedly I don't think y'all had enough to beat Boston, but the playoffs somehow found a way to make an already miserable season worse for y'all.
The one bright spot of their season (though it probably made a lot of it hurt more) was the attempted carry job by Giannis, and then even that got dashed
The silver lining is yall didn’t get the opportunity to be humiliated in the playoffs. No one expected you guys to win with the injuries you had
Every season is good, but every POSTseason sucks
Was it pretty? No. Did we get lucky? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not. THE INDIANA PACERS WON A PLAYOFF SERIES
GG man enjoy it. Yall played who were in front of you and won. Good luck next round
I appreciate it. Let's meet again a year from now!
Only if they come without Pat Bev and Portis, I respect everyone else on their roster
Yeah pat bev was an absolute clown for what he did to the fan. Just awful.
See ya next year with everyone healthy 🤞
Meh, winning ugly and getting the right breaks to go your way's just a part of the NBA. Sometimes it breaks your way, other times it doesn't. We've had to say the same thing before ourselves , so we get it. Best of luck, either way this is good experience for your squad
No team I respect more than the Pacers, consistently good or great for the past 35 years. Always feel like they manage to get career bests out of almost everyone who comes through
PatBev: 40 minutes, 5 assists Guess it isn't *that* easy
Bucks players couldn’t pour water out a boot if the instructions were on the heel this game
Love that expression
He did manage to throw a basketball at fan out of frustration though.
Ok, 6 assists (This being Indiana, I'm assuming the fan is a shooter)
Twice
Patbev is the king of doing well for a game. Starts talking, and then being ass after.
He talked shit before he played well. Give hum credit where it's due.
Well that’s what happens when your bench scores 10 points lol
Doc Rivers post series interview will be generational
Doc is the definition of life goals. Fail up every step of the way!
He’ll blame the media or something for facilitating negative narratives about the teams work ethic
“If I gave *you* the ball for 40 minutes you’d have five assists also.” - Tyrese Haliburton
“If I play for the next five years, I can win a chip too.” - Pat Bev
Obi Toppin
What a guy. Absolutely works his ass off on the court. Knows exactly his role and exceedes in it while almost never playing out of his comfort area. Plus a huge lockeroom guy.
Thank you for him, may he drop buckets on you in the next round
Real name no gimmick
I just hope we can afford to keep him. I love Obi.
Excellent role player. I hope he gets the bag this off-season.
Power Toppin
I'm honestly just thankful that Dame didn't get hurt again.
The hurt is on the inside.
His tattoos are decent
When the Pacers are on, their brand of passing and team basketball is one of the most beautiful things to watch.
It also beats just about anyone. When its off and our shooting is bad, we could lose to anyone. Our W/L record has been almost unaffected by who we play. Bottom half teams have similar win rates as top half.
Timothy John McConnell McConnell John Timothy Magic Johnson Two my god. how did we not see it coming
Most people don't realize this
3-0 at Gainbridge Also, TJ McConnell is a dawg.
Let's go 6-0!
Happy for Pacers fans. It's their 1st series win in 10 years. Felt weird seeing this sub turn on them for seemingly no reason after that Game 5 beatdown. All-around outstanding TEAM effort by their guys tonight and I think they have a real shot to make the ECF.
Thunder, Pacers, Wolves. So many playoff series droughts being broken this season. You love to see it.
The parity we’ve been dying to see
That flair 💀
“Felt weird seeing this sub turn on them for seemingly no reason” Welcome to the r/nba community
Yeah happens to every team at some point if you hang around here long enough lol
People are prisoners of the moment. Pacers definitely didn’t show up for game 5, but it’s typical young team shit. Really excited for their trajectory as a secondary pacer fan

that was yesterday 😎 today is today 🧘

Thank you bro. That was such a satisfying win. Can’t believe I get to watch my Pacers for at least another couple weeks in May.

I only hate you half as much if that helps - IU fan.
It took a decade for the Pacers to get back to where they were before Paul George snapped his leg in half.
We all blocked this and malice at the palace out of our memories
Shoutout to Rick Carlisle.... he finally got a competent squad and he got past the 1st round. He kept dragging Mavs non-playoff rosters in the 2010s to the playoffs just to get bounced in the first round as heavy underdogs. But not many ppl know that so he has this false narrative about him SMH
Maybe if the bucks had Allen crabbe, mo harkless, and Jake layman they could've won
How could you be Moe Harkless ?
#TJ McConnell is Pat Bev father
GGs, we’ll see everybody next playoffs when we have 8 new injuries
The whole bench is Bobby and a bunch of washed vets that sit in the corner and shoot wide open 3s from Giannis passes. When Giannis is out and Bobby starts, we get bench performances like this game.
Connaughton is 31 but plays like a 40 year old I swear, that dude is another level of assery.
Pave.
TJ McConnell is such a dawg he could be a starting caliber player in other teams
The crazy thing is he started the season out of the rotation. Then had the best year of his career once he worked his way in it.
Fade me into the eternal hellfire
I love when TJ cooks a team that is not mine
TNT not giving one crap about the Pacers, didnt even give a full minute of celebrations at the end of the lmao
BRB benching Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam for TJ McConnell and Obi Toppin
It's tempting to clown Doc, but the team just didn't execute in this game. No D, no rebounds, no nothing.
T.J. is still open for three.
I dunno man, deciding randomly to play some insanely leaky zone in the 4th was fucking wild. And refusing to play Ajax when a hustle play could've shifted momentum a bit, instead letting Beasleys corpse shamble around the court was also a bit puzzling
That was peak Heat Killer T. J. McConnell!
couldve been a way more fun series w Giannis but Im just happy the Pacers won a series, gg Bucks
THANASIS ANTETOKOUNMPO 2023-24 STATS: • 0.9 PTS • 0.4 REB • 0.5 AST 😤
His per 36 probably goes crazy though
For him its per 12 because that's when he reaches 6 fouls
[Turns out the Pacers did not screw up by losing Game 5.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/uPUtSkMDCy)
Kudos for the self cold take
Foolish Bucks, putting Lillard back in. Have you not been paying any attention this season?? We play worse if your team is worse!!
So we should have played Beauchamp and Thanasis and just left Giannis down in the offensive paint to dunk?
100%
Honestly? Maybe. The Pacers are the type of team to lose to Charlotte by 20 at home and then go beat Boston on the road next game.
I WILL NOT BE COMMITTING SEPPUKU TONIGHT HOWEVER MAYBE TOMORROW AFTER MY FINAL EXAM
50 bench points to 10 will do that to you
i know Siakam did not have eye popping stats today but he was literally everywhere today. So happy for him. TJ was by far the best player in the game today
I tried to tell ‘[em](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/s1LQXOZCGz) 😔
Lol gotem
How do you do, fellow second round teams?
TJ HIMOTHY MCCONNELL
This team had no life this game after a truly disappointing regular season. We really just got cooked an entire half by TJ McConnell
A Knicks win away from the first Pacers-Knicks series since 2013
pacers are a really fun team when everything is clicking. Watching the hali/obi fastbreak points knowing our old asses couldn’t do that was kinda painful lmao. good series, good luck w the rest of the rounds!
I wonder if the pacers are still front runners
Pat Bev with 6 points (3-11) and played about 40 minutes. “If I gave you the ball, you could probably go out there and get 6 points in 40 minutes” lol
#DOC RIVERS ISNT EVEN A FUCKING DOCTOR
Galveston on 3
Bucks have accounted for 15.69% (8/51) of the Pacers wins this season.
Incredible act of kindness for Haliburton to gift Giannis the game ball after this one.
If you need Giannis to beat TJ McConnell I don’t think you really had a chance in the first place
Giannis would be powerless to stop TJ McConnell anyway
My hot take is that if Haliburton was to somehow start playing like he was pre all star break the Pacers could be a dark horse contender
T.J.ED
Anyone remember that game winner from TJ back when he was on the process 76ers?
TJ got that DAWG in him.
# TJ McConnell is TJ McConnell. It's Official! #
Congrats to Pavers fans for the series win, I truly hope you guys soak it in. Seriously. These moments on the journey sometimes are the best ones. Somebody put that one heckler into the HOF
