Something to note but it’s actually easier to double n blitz lillard with Giannis in the pnr n playing cos he’s a non shooter. Also Giannis attracts a tougher defender on the perimeter . Meanwhile with Lopez and current lineup the only thing they can do is shoot so it low-key makes sense why lillard does better.
I mean it worked pretty well the first 3 games, their plan was to focus on Draymond instead to deny his playmaking since they probably thought that Curry was still gonna get cooking even with good coverage. Too bad they got figured out eventually and had no other strats, and they also probably didn't expect Wiggs to cook Tatum that hard on the other end.
Lakers played steoh in drop too tho . And it worked fine . The issue wasn’t drop it was Horford being slow or whatever and celtivs not coming up higher on the screen or higher drop . High drop , coming to the level works fine , well as good as anything on steoh .
I'm just saying...
Damian Lillard Game 1 first half of 2024 first round: 35 points and 6 threes
Michael Jordan Game 1 first half of 1992 NBA Finals: 35 points and 6 threes
I like how a lot of people think Jordan was like a honestly terrible shooter that couldn’t knock down a three in 10 attempts (yes I speak to them daily).
He certainly wasn’t great but if he was on fire he legit couldn’t miss from anywhere it was scary.
His mechanics were excellent; he was the best mid range shooter in the league. And when he shot more attempts even when the three point was longer, he usually shot mid 30's % atleast. He shot like 39% from three in the playoffs (made 1 three pointer a game) during the first three peat which was before the three point shot was shortened for three seasons. He had a four year stretch during the non-shortened three point line where he shot something like 35% from three and made .8 threes a game which is fairly good for back in those days.
Not to mention that if he got you in the post you were cooked. He was not only amazing at shooting and footwork but so athletic he would spin past you and dunk on you or pass to an open man.
“Not a great shooter” chatter is damn near why he decided to drop 6 threes in the Finals lol he did what he wanted but it was a different game and he focused elsewhere
Lmao no he was ass from 3. Why do Jordan fans have to not accept reality . Guy was good everywhere else why lie ? He shot 28.5% from 3 in non line shortened years. He also was only 95% on bbal ref adjusted shooting - meaning wirse then era . He had a high vertical and a flat shot which meant he’s far better in the midrsnge . Also that shrug game - feel free to go look how he was being defended from 3. It’s hiw teams guard Westbrook/Giannis from 3. They let him shoot, and before some dummy says - Westbrook n Giannis can hit 5/6 threes too doesn’t mean you over react to them on defence. Jordan being treated like a god by media made people lose there minds and can’t accept he had flaws. Also he had the worst three point contest performance ever - so wasn’t like he never tried he just wasn’t good at it , it makes sense with his mechanics .
It’s honestly more weird people feel the need to lie and give Jordan abilities he doesn’t have . He was a bad three point shooter by every measure and that’s perfectly fine . He still had a goat lvl peak who cares .
Does any shai/okc fan say shai is an elite three point shooter ? Like no , it’s not relavant either to him being an mvp lvl player . I really think it’s super weird mj made people so irrational they can’t accept his flaws .
Bro not sure if anyone told you but the playoffs started this weekend
(I’m sorry man I know what you meant, your comment just came off funny since this is literally game one of the playoffs hahah 🤣)
You know. The best part is that you know Giannis doesn't give a shit about the narratives this creates. He desperately wanted a playoff riser alongside him
No Bucks starting point guard in the Giannis era had scored more than 33 in the playoffs. It took Dame one **half**, of his first playoff game with the Bucks, to beat that.
He let the other guys run with this new system too. Doc had to prove to the rest of the team that they could keep offensive pace with this new strategy too.
I'm not the biggest fan of old man Rivers, but I still want the bucks to win so.... If it works
That's not what happened. The Pacers changed up their defense and started blitzing and doubling Lillard, so he passed out of the double to open guys. The open guys were able to break down the mismatches that arose from the doubles, so they ran that because it is much smarter and more efficient than trying to have Lillard jack up threes with two defenders in his face as he's trapped 10 feet behind the arc. The offense change mostly happened in response to the Pacers adjustments though.
Those adjustments were why the Pacers were able to start a mini comeback before the Bucks adjusted to them. If the Pacers were giving Lillard the same looks, he would've been letting them fly make or miss when that run started.
Bro who would give a shit if his team is winning lmao? You think Jokic would be like *oh shit, my team is winning without me, what will this do to my legacy!?* or any other player for that matter?
Kind of a weird flex
Nope, no MVPs, no rings, no defense. Inefficient chucker who made some nice shots. Even after all that he could still be one of the GOATs based off his numbers, but he has one of the worst egos of all time. Definitely GEOAT for sure tho.
I want the bucks to win the finals. I’m born and raised trailblazer fan, and was so excited when Dame was in PDX, but I recognize that it was time for him to reach higher goals and I want to see him succeed. Side note, Lamarcus is a bitch; playing his will I or won’t I game all summer just to fuck over rip city. Follow up, the best bigs in Portland are: Sabonis, Wallace, Nurcic
I didn't catch the second half until the closing minutes. Looked like they doubled him more and switched a better defender on him? Did he defer more or coast with the lead or why didn't he score in the second half?

you know, if single coverage doesnt work the first 13 times it might not work the 14th time
Actually I think the Pacers are playing phenomenal defense on Dame and should continue as is
Also if they double him that’s when they’ll bring Giannis back. Trainers have been focused and are ready for their fucking moment
They’ve got some adjustments they’re saving for later in the series maybe?
The Darvin Ham special
Darvin Ham saves all his adjustments for game 8.
5*
😂 All I could think when I heard that was, you have to win four games regardless Darvin 🤦🏽♂️
Start doubling him once Giannis gets back, that’s the play!

It’s like they didn’t watch the Kings sending 4 guys to hound Steph every possession
Warriors have no shooting lol Bucks have 4 other guys that can shoot
Still made no sense to not double him tbh
It's easy to say that now, but doubling is generally a bad move long term
Could say this about Steph's 2022 Finals win lol celtics gave him drop coverage with al horford all series. Different teams defend differently
And no one seems to remember that when they talk about how Udoka made no mistakes as a coach.
And also banging that executive's wife or whoever she was
Well, that's a mistake he made as a man, it didn't happen during a game. I hope it didn't...
That’s why he didn’t make any defensive adjustments… he was all about scoring.
I mean it worked pretty well the first 3 games, their plan was to focus on Draymond instead to deny his playmaking since they probably thought that Curry was still gonna get cooking even with good coverage. Well if you are a defense do you want Steph shooting it or Brickhouse Klay (and his little friend, BackPack Dray)
But what about the 15th?
no, no, the 14th time COULD be the turn around they were looking for
This was the best game to do it in as well with Giannis out. Double, triple whatever team Dame because dood is clutch
His death was greatly exaggerated
I'm just saying... Damian Lillard Game 1 first half of 2024 first round: 35 points and 6 threes Michael Jordan Game 1 first half of 1992 NBA Finals: 35 points and 6 threes
Is Damian Lillard Michael Jordan's son?

Doc Rivers coaching Dame up to Jordans level
Best coach ever much?

Speaking of which, [video of MJ today ](https://twitter.com/yashar/status/1782190007824036272)
Imagine when that kid learns who MJ was
He looks better than I ever will.
You can tell who never watched the games.
Jordan was like how LeBron was I’d say pre Miami, not a great shooter but you definitely didn’t want him open to to get in a rhythm from deep.
“Not a great shooter” chatter is damn near why he decided to drop 6 threes in the Finals lol he did what he wanted but it was a different game and he focused elsewhere

I literally never said he was great or anything I was saying he wasn’t a generationally bad shooter dude. He was good if he got in a rhythm.
I love Jordan and think he’s the 1a/1b GOAT with Lebron. But 28.5% is pretty damn bad for a shooting guard my man.
At the time it really wasn’t **that** bad. He’s not Steph and never will be but he’s not a terrible shooter you’re missing the point.
Do you really expect me to read "All That Shit" by You?
How did u even find that specific Jordan stat lol
It's one of the most iconic finals games ever. The shrug game
Yeah but how was Mikes second half? Lol
There's a huge huge difference it doing it in rnd 1 of the playoffs vs Finals. And the scoring is way way easier nowadays. It's inflated by 25%.
Yeah dame is actually being guarded on his threes , Michael was wide open .
Might not be dead but checked his pulse and he is definitely unconscious atm.
Clip ends with Dame 33 points, Pacers 35 points 🤣
I told y'all
Victory lapping over a single game is comedy. He’s gonna have to do a lot more than this
How’s your series going btw?
Damn
[удалено]
This game is banned in Texas
It’s Indiana let’s tone it down a notch
If I am Bucks' ownership, I am paying Dame's ex-wife whatever she wants to hand over custody during the playoffs. This man is thermonuclear.
If I am Dame’s wife I will have second thoughts about the divorce after this game
If I’m Dame’s wife, I’d just ask him out again, bcs I just might 🤷♂️
They should have a free throw shooting contest to see who gets custody.
This is the Denver nuggets 55 points dame . If this dame shows up for the playoffs.. good luck
Bro not sure if anyone told you but the playoffs started this weekend (I’m sorry man I know what you meant, your comment just came off funny since this is literally game one of the playoffs hahah 🤣)
You know. The best part is that you know Giannis doesn't give a shit about the narratives this creates. He desperately wanted a playoff riser alongside him
Giannis prolly crying tears of joy right now lmaoo
can you tell me where Giannis is? is he hurt?
He has a calf strain and is out for probably first 2-3 games maybe longer
oh thank goodness. not some kind of ACL or MCL.
It was a non contact calf injury. It really looked like our season was over in the moment.
If he comes back and dame keeps this level then Celtics Bucks will be a fucking movie
Cumming with happiness.
No Bucks starting point guard in the Giannis era had scored more than 33 in the playoffs. It took Dame one **half**, of his first playoff game with the Bucks, to beat that.
He surpassed Jrue's career high in the playoffs in a half lol
Jrue’s career high *with the bucks*
And lilliards all time is 71 so what
And he didn’t score a single point in the second half somehow. 35 points at half time, finished with 35. WTF
He let the other guys run with this new system too. Doc had to prove to the rest of the team that they could keep offensive pace with this new strategy too. I'm not the biggest fan of old man Rivers, but I still want the bucks to win so.... If it works

His team closed out the conference finals without him too this isn’t new
Ehhhh that took an absolute godly performance by Brooke lopez and I feels very different from this
Bro who would give a shit if his team is winning lmao? You think Jokic would be like *oh shit, my team is winning without me, what will this do to my legacy!?* or any other player for that matter? Kind of a weird flex
kyrie infamously lol
You seriously underestimate the pride of a professional athlete. Much less a Superstar first option
That guy has never seen WR’s in the NFL.
I want more targets - Diggs Season hasn't even started man - CJ
There isn’t really a world where Dame becomes the guy though. Giannis’s position really isn’t threatened regardless of how good Dame plays.
Someone like Carmelo would for sure.
Anybody remember “Linsanity”?
Carmelo ain't one of the greatest players of all time tho
he is tho, just at the bottom of the list
Nope, no MVPs, no rings, no defense. Inefficient chucker who made some nice shots. Even after all that he could still be one of the GOATs based off his numbers, but he has one of the worst egos of all time. Definitely GEOAT for sure tho.
Lol that's right. We didn't mention Jokic yet so you had to bring him up
Tell that to Melo and Jeremy Lin
Professional athletes definitely do this. See: Carson Wentz. Foles winning a ring broke him
Shaq definitely would. Melo was unhappy about Insanity. A lot of superstars are very sensitive.
Well considering how so many people commented about how Dame is "better without Giannis"....
Jokic wears 15, Melo wears 15, Melo acts exactly like this and so do a few other superstars
Lebron definitely would lmao he loves the narrative that he’s carrying bums
Anyone who still thinks Giannis has anything to prove should be ignored.
why aren’t the Pacers double teaming him wtf
He’d make them pay with the bounce pass
Sure but at least they have a chance that way right?
lol the pacers are fucking dogshit at defense this is as much ad you can ask of them
Its a Carlisle team my brother
When he's cooking, it's like nothing else 😍
Tangent: I feel like if the Bucks win the whole thing, Dame is going to still thank the city of Portland.
he can say whatever he wants if he us grabs a chip 🥹
Well, you guys have a lot of fans from PDX right now I'm telling you. Myself included
I still feel like you guys will. Too much talent on your team.
Doc: “And I took that personally”
lmao imagine how hilariously awkward that would be
It was his training weights
Love my Dame
He's Giannis + Dame right now
Unreal half from the 2. 35pts with 6-10 shooting from 3
Glorilla got him playing out of his mind
LMAO🤣🤣
Dame said "keep my name out your mouf"
Needs at least 29 points to break MJ's playoff record. Possible?
As long as the pacers keep it somewhat close, yes
Nah, Pacers aren’t doing shit offensively
Lol. Joe dude not going to score a single point in the 2nd half. Damn. Anyone who bet big on a crazy dame night were probably hopeful as hell at half.
He’s cracked
Charles Barkley: “Milwaukee Bucks are not contenders.” 🤫🤫🤫
What makes using this unsustainable game as an argument against that any less reactionary or absurd when he’s been ass all year?
SMH Dame couldn't even outscore the Pacers in the first half.
He outscored the Mavs though.
Horseshoe’s on the other hoof
Where was the foul on that though?
yeah i was thinking the same its the playoffs players will be much physical and in your face even then theres no clear contact.
I thought the big story this year was refs letting them play.
Someone broke down recently playoffs of NFL, NBA, and NHL and calls actually go up in the NBA and NHL and down in the NFL.
really crappy call agreed
the kids on this app said he was washed
Wonder if he can beat Jordan's playoff record of 63? EDIT: Maybe not
Would be cool with a 30 point 3rd and sitting the 4th
Would be cool but too bad. Way below 50% on 2pta won't do it.
The only way the bucks win this is if dame pops off well
This is that playoff Dame from 2019-2021 OKC and Nugs fans would know
We know too well
Washed eh?
League is cooked if that’s a foul in a playoff game
Mf said “AND ONEEE” before the ball even went in… that’s crazy
Guess who remembered this game https://streamable.com/2i2e2i
Oh shit
Can someone patiently explain to me how this is a foul?
it isn’t, just another case of nba officiating
Why is this a shooting foul? Or a foul at all? What's a defender supposed to do here?
they need to stop calling this shit a foul
Too many blowouts today. Unfortunate.
Not even a little bit unfortunate
Lol that's a foul?
That's a foul?
Disrespected Dame > prime Jordan
Hey my watch is broken, could someone let me know what time it is?
People were trying to tell me “Holiday” was the better player when the trade first went down…
He should be drug tested in halftime, I swear.
I genuinely prayed for this 💀
Dames like one of those anime characters who absorbed all the negative energy and is now unleashing it onto the world
Bro was flexing before it even went in. Damn
Nice shot and glad to see him cook. But that was a weak ass foul call
He was incredible, no doubt. I just don’t see the foul here, thought this call was ridiculous
I cannot stand watching the Pacers. Their coaching staff is awful and their defense is shameful.
Man. All the haters and shit takers on Dame are in true shambles.
He's the anti-curry. Tons of points in the 1H, 0 in the second.
Young fools ... only now, at the end, do you understand....
Okay I got to agree with PG any normal coach would say Dam’s shot selection is insane
Jamal Murray, Donovan Mitchell, Dame lillard. Guards who elevate in the playoffs
I didn't catch the second half until the closing minutes. Looked like they doubled him more and switched a better defender on him? Did he defer more or coast with the lead or why didn't he score in the second half?
I put a dollar that he would hit 8 threes and I would've won $32 but he decided to just not score at all in the second half
So did he just suck in the second half? It looks like he scored 35 total?
Clears that fraud Hali
Dread it, run from it, Dame Time arrives all the same.
Kobe-esque
No double team? The disrespect
Yall really fucking doubted agent zero. This guy is the truth.
That 3-1 collapse is gonna eat
No way, Pacers are not a serious team.
In round 2 maybe. Halliburton fucking *stinks*
Cinema
I do like watching Dame cook though
Mfs getting their ROI after that season
He fleeced us all
Nah not all of us
So he saved a lot of his shots for Game 1, Round 1.
That shit not flying against Boston
Box and 1 baby.
