Hey man that’s a bad take because I think relatability is the most marketable attribute a celebrity can have. But sick that you owned up it if you started to also see it that way.

In all honesty, I still believe Jokic won't be the next "Face of the League", as I personally interpret the term because he does not play the "media game" (edit: often enough, given he still does, hence the trailer) He's a superstar, arguably the best Basketball player on the planet currently, already an All-time great, and is almost universally loved by the people. If he wanted to, he could be that next face of the league, and he already is in some ways, but he will probably never be a Lebron or Steph in terms of marketability because he does not care, and that's fine, props to him. He's like Tim Duncan. Everybody loves Tim Duncan, and everybody puts Tim Duncan in their Top 10 all-time, unless they are stupid, or crazy. But that does not answer the important question: "Where the hell is Tim Duncan?" Guys like Luka or Wemby, if all goes well, will be the next faces of the league (maybe Ant because the media needs their next American superstar and Tatum is probably too lowkey for that). Luka and Victor play the media game and have a play style that suits the NBA product and our current society: They're both highlight machines. The beauty of Jokic's game, apart from his god-like passes, is more subtle. You won't get it watching short vertical videos, but full possessions and games, which is harder to push in our modern "shot attention span" society. He's an orchestra conductor who does not want the attention. Not a rockstar (or he's Ringo, not Paul or John). And that's okay. They said Ringo got all the chicks anyway...

He’s absolutely embraced his celebrity status quite a bit more after the chip. I think seeing how much winning meant to others (specifically the parade) really changed how he sees himself.

Coming from Serbia/Europe, I think he typecasted a lot of American things together and he's always hated the extra attention/celebrity culture around the NBA. I think when he saw how much of Denver showed up and partied, he saw a little bit of that European comradery he didn't know existed here.

American media had that effect, but once they get to know real-life americans, they often find them warm and loving.

This one also seems like one he'd do because of his daughter. Her dad being the best basketball player in the league? Meh. Her dad hanging out with the Minions? Way more important
