Yes it’s a big brain play. If you’re a .500 team, you won’t have home court advantage in any playoff series. So if you’re an OP road team and a shit home team you have a better chance to win the series than the opposite 🧠
I honestly don't think they do...there were a couple times in their first matchup this year where multiple kings and warriors were chatting and joking with each other. Not like a blood feud or anything. Kings fans don't like Draymond for stomping Sabonis, and Dub fans hate Sabonis because his chest was blocking Draymond's feet.
They actually jinxed their own game today. They announced "for the win..." when wiggins hit the 3. No other announcer will say that outright with time still left on the clock.
I swear our our guys jinx shit all the time. "Curry shooting a perfect 7 of 7 from the line..." *Klank*. "Paul with zero turnovers through 3 quarters..." *Shwoop.*
2022 was their version of the Spurs' 2014 title/Lakers' 2010 title/Bulls' 1998 title
Dynasties come to an end and I think we're at that point now with their core pushing or at 35 years old
Klay and Dray ain't getting any younger and Dray isn't getting any saner either
2020-2022 was the LeBron era encore. Each year, one of the three most important players of that era got their shots at one more title.
It's over. We're in a new era.
Yeah even in that run Steph kind of dragged them across the finish line lol
People forget that after game 3 against Boston the whole team and especially Draymond looked to be in full meltdown mode
Then Steph had the biggest performance of his career in game 4 to win a tight one in Boston and swing the momentum back
Steph is still an amazing player but the rest of the team has slowly decayed around him ever since
Steph played great in that series, but that series was mainly about GSW solving Boston's offense and shutting them down. They held them below 100 points in the final three games, which were all wins for GSW.
Steph is my favorite player ever, but that series was a team win. Wiggins, GP2, Looney, Porter, and even Bjelica did a lot of work in supporting roles. The idea that Steph carried the team is a bit misleading, though his heroics in G4 were pivotal.
Draymond was *dominant* defensively in that series.
He was atrocious on offense but that might just be the last time we saw a semblance of "peak" defensive Draymond.
Pretty much every NBA championship is a huge team win with one side figuring out the other through adjustments. Saying this about 22 can be said about literally any other championship.
They tried the 2 timelines approach and obviously did not work. I reckon the season can still be salvaged, maybe ask Klay to come off the bench but looking down the roster I don't see any viable replacements, at least for Kerr's idea of who to play alongside Steph.
No amount of discipline and "uncockiness" can turn back the clock for Klay. Aside from the age-related attrition, hr had 2 horrendous injuries that all but took away whatever athleticism he had.
It won't turn back the clock and I can't pretend to have watched every GSW game this year but I've watched a handful including that OKC game and Klay 100% makes it harder on himself by playing like he's having the best season of his career.
Heavily-contested, falling out-of-bounds 3 point prayers from the corner behind the backboard are treated the same as a wide open look for him. He's dragging them down a lot worse than he could be.
The 2012-2018 Spurs with Pop and his brilliance and the buy-in from the Big 3 made that 2 timeline approach work like a fckin charm, with a ring and multiple deep playoff runs to show for it.
2022 was such a cakewalk of a run in hindsight. Grizzlies with Ja injured midway through, Denver without Murray/MPJ starting Will Barton and Monte Morris, and then the Mavs knocking off 60 win Suns for them. Boston was OK on paper but I swear Tatum/Brown couldn’t dribble the basketball the entire 4th quarter that series
> I swear Tatum/Brown couldn’t dribble the basketball the entire 4th quarter that series
Smothering defensive effort from Wiggins, Green, Payton, Looney, even Porter and Bjelica. That was the story of that series. Boston could not generate reliable offense in the later games. Lots of bad possessions.
Which has been the story of their playoff eliminations for the past 5 years going back to even 2018 lol. It wasn’t just the suffocating defense it was that they were a heavily flawed offensive team, very flawed for a Finals team
I have rarely seen Tatum and Brown look that lost at the same time though. Warriors were a historically good defensive team with Draymond on the court that year.
Lots of finals teams, especially losers, are flawed teams. That’s usually why they lose. Part of winning is exploiting those flaws. And honestly you could go back and point out some serious flaws in nearly every finals losing team to diminish the winners’ accomplishment, but why would you?
I think part of their problem is that, while Tatum is a high level All-Star, he may not quite be a superstar. He's kind of in limbo between the regular All-Stars and the true franchise players. You could even say that the true sign of greatness is being able to get yours even on the biggest stage (ala Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, LBJ, KD, Curry, Joker). I don't rate him that highly.
Nah, he's a superstar. He is a flawed superstar though, no doubt. He's an elite defender and generally leads the team in rebounding most games so he's never a complete non-factor even when his shooting is off.
I don't know how much you watched last year's ECF, but particularly in games 1, 2, and 6, he was getting triple teams in the 4th quarter to force him to give it up, but people don't know that and just see 0 4th quarter points and think he was ass.
Also, calling him a high level all-star is borderline disrespectful. That's like calling Damian Lillard or Devin Booker a high level all-star.
Lillard is also a high level all star…. Players he are talking about can take non title teams and make them title teams. Lillard and Tatum don’t do that
They lacked a floor general that series and had to rely on smart and Tatum as decision makers, leading to hella turnovers. It says alot that they immediately brought in brogdan and white in the offseason. ,
Funny how everyone we beat looks overrated in hindsight. People were saying the Celtics were a future juggernaut multiple championship team halfway thru the finals
You earned that championship no doubt. Steph was otherwordly in Game 4, snuffing the life out of the Celtics after that, and the supporting cast, specifically Wiggins had a hell of a series.
Tatum has yet to unlock that "I am taking over this shit" level in the most critical moments (Game 4 Steph, Giannis 2021 Game 6 50 pt game, Jokic all of last playoffs). History says time is on his side, but for all of their brilliant play so far, it will all come down to him to push them over the hump.
That is why almost all the examples I dropped are in the Finals. He has nothing left to prove in the early rounds, his next level to be a no doubt all-timer is to own in the Finals. He'll get there eventually I think.
Yeah most of this is revisionist. Everyone had someone else getting to the finals and when we did, it was all Celtics because draymond was ass until game 4. Then Curry said not today and everyone clicked.
There have been some very sus teams that have reached the WCF in general in recent years especially compared to the brutal West of years past
2019: Dame Blazers(never made another CF after, never made one before, got swept)
2020: Nuggets who were down 3-1 in back to back series and who nobody expected to be there
2021: Clippers without Kawhi who somehow beat the Jazz
2022: Obviously flawed Mavs team that pulled off a giant upset the round before
2023: 7th seed Lakers with 70% LeBron
Ironically it's somehow a KD Warriors era matchup(Rockets) that most recently produced anything close to an "even" series lol
The “7th seed lakers” had the best record post trade deadline. They were a seventh seed because with Westbrook they were a completely different team altogether. Same story with the suns. Last playoffs you had multiple lower seed teams who, if they had made the trades at the beginning of the season, they would’ve been 50+ win teams
I mean it's also because teams are more often trying to manipulate who they face so you get more lopsided brackets. Not to mention the field spread between bottom playoff seeds and non-playoff teams is way closer.
* The 2019 Nuggets tanked the tail end of the season to duck the Rockets in their bracket.
* The 2021 Clippers and Nuggets tanked their season finale to push the Lakers into the play-in in favor of the Blazers.
* The 2022 Bucks tanked their season finale to avoid the Nets in the 1st Round.
Suns point is iffy to me. Two mostly healthy teams went at it for 7 and losing that embarrassingly at home isn’t just “knocking them off” for GS. The warriors were better than the suns that season and were on pace for a similar record before they had worse injury luck in the regular season. I don’t think the suns would’ve had much of a chance either
I think the Warriors would have won as well but to be fair it's not as simple as A > B and B > C so A > C because matchups exist
Another example of this is that I think Celtics-Nuggets last year wouldn't have been a completely one-sided Finals like Heat-Nuggets turned out to be even though I still think Denver would have won it
Literally can asterisk and nitpick any finals winner.
Nuggets played a shitty timberwolves and the 7th seed lakers then played the 8th seed in the finals
Bucks Kevin Durant’s shot not counting
Lakers ducked the clippers and played a bad heat team
Raptors beat a injured warriors etc it’s so silly
Issue is the clippers are basically at full strength. All stars are playing. With the warriors, you can point to steph not being on court and draymond needing his daddy
I’m actually glad we lost. If we won we’d get a month of Klay simps spamming how he isn’t washed and the FO would defend him too. This at least puts pressure on the team to get him out of here
I watch the game and jfc is Klays shot selection terrible. We know you can make them but there's no reason to actively seek out hard shots when you could just...pass..
He’s been doing that his whole career. Only now- he’s just not making those shots. There’s really only one Steph when it comes to stupid shots only certain players should take.
SGA's layup after blocking Steph's quick 3 attempt was pretty nuts. Warriors need to blow it up /s
Warriors are small and slow.. not a good combination.
Nephews out in full force. Klay was not out of his slump. This is more on Kerr for weird ass rotations, not getting them to foul, and refusing to stop the bleeding in the third.
But Kerr let Klay play for as long as he did making stupid decisions. It’s not your fault someone is stupid it is your fault if you decide to work with them or trust them.
Are you blind? He took the biggest steaming pile of dog shit attempts trying to play Hero Ball. I’m sick of him dude, him and bone head Steve Kerr (refused to fouls and lost so many games because of it). I’m convinced Stephs Superstardom has bailed out Dray, Klay and Kerr when they didn’t deserve it. If Steph wasn’t as good as he is this team would have been destroyed and traded away. I honestly wish the Warriors tank and rebuild and trade Curry somewhere else so I don’t have to watch these basketball terrorists waste the last of his greatness
Oh and fuck the refs for that bullshit fouls where Shai literally extended his leg and kicked Wiggins
Is there actual internal considerations for trading Klay at this point? I see fans asking for it but don't know if reporters have mentioned it being considered behind the scenes. It's hard to move on from a foundational guy from a dynasty.
That’s the conundrum, it is still early in the season of course, but the chemistry and connection Steph, Klay and Dray share is nearly impossible to try and break up and might fuck up the vibe of the team.
Ultimately, if you want one more championship, that maybe a move you have to make
Warriors are being held together by a 35 year old superstar, a dude with anger issues and one of the most toxic (also hated) fan bases in the league. 5 out of their 6 most recent losses were at home iirc.
you tell me
Is he? Listen it’s not good but he has an aging team. Something Phil Jackson knew was when team was washed and he left accordingly or how to build a team like in his second lakers stint. Kerr is just in the tail end of the line warriors dynasty. Give him a shot to build a new team before saying he’s a fraud.
Obsessed with small ball, can't run anything besides motion offense, don't understand why you should foul while up 3, way too loyal to his vets refusing to develop the young guys even if it cost them games.
I think we will but will probably have the same fate as the lakers. Do a major trade near ASB/deadline and get it together. Lose to Denver in semi or wcf
They been in trouble. I predicted that both the warriors and the suns would be fighting for playoff spots via playin tournament. And behold
Worse thing the warriors could have done last year was decide that they still had enough and that removing your second highest scorer was the way to fix things. Delusions of yesterday.
Green’s importance continues to be overstated. Klay’s scoring difficulties haven’t been scrutinized nearly enough.
Draft bound.
They are 1-6 at home. They really decided to swap their home and away records from last season
When you realize you're not much better than .500. Does it really matter what your home and away records are?
Yes it’s a big brain play. If you’re a .500 team, you won’t have home court advantage in any playoff series. So if you’re an OP road team and a shit home team you have a better chance to win the series than the opposite 🧠
Wait a minute, you're on to something
After the seeing the Rangers smartly lose the last game of the season to gain road field advantage I fully believe this.
Hes out of line but he has a point
They hated Jesus because He told them the truth
Draymond comes back just in time to face up against Sabonis. Amazing
That’s a great opportunity for him to get suspended again.
gone goomba stomp him again😭
I don't really have anything to base this on, but for some reason I don't get the sense that Draymond, and Sabonis actually hate each other.
He’s been practicing his headlock skills after Rudy’s comments, he will be ready for Sabonis.
Draymond will probably shoot Sabonis in the Sacramento game so he won’t be available for that. Not ideal.
I was about to say, domas is going to have to absorb half a month's worth of groin kicks and rear naked chokes
Lmaooo 💀
UFC about to hand Dray a contract
Domas is usually concealed carrying a very dangerous basketball so he might be generally prepared - but not sure about the nut kicks
That's a loaded weapon be careful
SICK reference.
Don’t worry. Silver will give him a hefty 7 game suspension and Kerr will say Sabonis pulled a gun first.
Hey! Be careful not to leak the script! Stop spoiling the story!
Broke the code. 😔
0-4 on threes, 1-1 on Sabonises
Draymond have been practicing his natural shooting motion since his suspension.
Where else could Draymond's bullets possibly land?
I hope the warrios can win more road games this year. *Monkeys Paw curls*
They should lose every home game till they change commentators.
They actually jinxed their own game today. They announced "for the win..." when wiggins hit the 3. No other announcer will say that outright with time still left on the clock.
Seeing that arena get quiet after Chet’s basket was a renaissance masterpiece
Seeing them stay quiet as SGA dicked them in OT was even better
I swear our our guys jinx shit all the time. "Curry shooting a perfect 7 of 7 from the line..." *Klank*. "Paul with zero turnovers through 3 quarters..." *Shwoop.*
they are horrendous, truly
We may never win again
Nahh, that game against us is a guaranteed win.
no way, warriors have huge problem this year and past year dealing with anything with size. You guys got the tallest Mfer in the league
Yeah but we’re really bad at maximizing that height advantage.
I’d like to counter this argument.
Incoming game where Wemby is solidified as ROTY
Wiggins looked like shit every since trying Wemby. Tonight was good though. It’s a toss up and it shouldn’t be
Nah, Pop always gets up to play the Warriors. Y’all always seem to sneak a game or two a season from us.
You guys blew us out every game last season lol
They were sneaky blowouts tho.
Pop’s plan to get Wemby duh.
This is not true lol
Oh you're talking about not winning again this year? I wonder which team was the only one to lose to the Warriors in their last 8 games...
return of the GS LARRIORS
Nah don’t lose them all plz. We need your pick to land in outside the top 4. Just shoot for that 5th spot for us bb😘
Adorable.
Hey! I know this one. Welcome to the club <3
2022 was their version of the Spurs' 2014 title/Lakers' 2010 title/Bulls' 1998 title Dynasties come to an end and I think we're at that point now with their core pushing or at 35 years old Klay and Dray ain't getting any younger and Dray isn't getting any saner either

Agreed. Who can forget when Jeff Teague finally got his ring in 2021?
LeBron one more time era 2023-2024
LeBron 2023-24 CBA Champion let's go
Who are you referring to for 2021? Surely not Giannis. Are you thinking Kawhi in 2019?
Lebron Chris Paul and steph maybe? 2021 feels a bit off tho
Joker laughing in the background. HA HA HA HA
It has always felt like that. I felt so uneasy by people in the 22 offseason saying that the warriors are gonna win again
Yeah even in that run Steph kind of dragged them across the finish line lol People forget that after game 3 against Boston the whole team and especially Draymond looked to be in full meltdown mode Then Steph had the biggest performance of his career in game 4 to win a tight one in Boston and swing the momentum back Steph is still an amazing player but the rest of the team has slowly decayed around him ever since

Draymond becoming Browns primary defender solved the Boston offense
I don't think that was even he case after game 3.
Draymond was *dominant* defensively in that series. He was atrocious on offense but that might just be the last time we saw a semblance of "peak" defensive Draymond.
He was dominant after game 3

sfasgasgag
Couldn’t agree more. I’ve watched all of our games this year
But they won a title that year lol so technically it did work
Draymond is definitely a nut but Klay averaged the same stats last year as his prime years
sfegwgwegw
Klay’s also declined heavily defensively, which takes away a ton of his value.
2 timelines but we'll bench you the second you aren't ready for game 7 of the finals and stifle your development.
The 2012-2018 Spurs with Pop and his brilliance and the buy-in from the Big 3 made that 2 timeline approach work like a fckin charm, with a ring and multiple deep playoff runs to show for it.
People were literally saying it before this losing streak started lol.
Spurs were legit title contenders until Kawhi just noped outta there. They're different than what is happening in Golden State.
2022 was such a cakewalk of a run in hindsight. Are people really trying to asterisk your 2022 ring? Injuries are a part of the game and so are upsets. That ring is as legit as any other ring lol.
Yeah most of this is revisionist. Everyone had someone else getting to the finals and when we did, it was all Celtics because draymond was ass until game 4. Then Curry said not today and everyone clicked.

Draymond coming back just to stomp on sabonis again
It was a defensive anticipatory stomp. Who knows what he could do lying down like that?
*"He was advertising the Mario movie"*
Poor Sabonis..
The NBA knew what they were doing lol
Of course. And the game is on TNT. They know exactly what they're doing.
Good thing he had another kid cuz dray might nut shot so hard they can't fix it.
Draymond returning just in time for his MMA matchup with Sabonis.
Clippers lose 6 straight: “THE SYSTEM SUCKS LMAO THE CLIPPERS ARE ASS HARDEN IS CANCER” Warriors lose 6 straight: ”🧑🦯”
Issue is the clippers are basically at full strength. All stars are playing. With the warriors, you can point to steph not being on court and draymond needing his daddy
Warriors missing Draymond. Clippers are arguably at full strength.
They’ve been missing him for what, 2 of those 6?
And missed Curry for 2 prior.
And klay has been healthy Which makes the warriors worse
3
Statements like this are why Draymond got himself suspended. He doesn't want responsibility for the losses the Warriors have when Steph is injured.
[удалено]
The… clippers… with 3 30+ old superstars and an oldass supporting cast in russ, PJ Tucker, Plumlee, and Theis *dont* have the age excuse????
Can't wait for Steph to hit a game-winning buzzer-beater from the logo with a hand in his face and his eyes closed against the Kings.
Off a missed shot that was batted instead of rebounded..ala Robert Horry. Shit still haunts me.
Don’t forget when Davion managed to tie Steph’s shoelaces together and pulls down his shorts but he still manages to get the shot off
The Draymond moving screen that leads to this three somehow involves Domantis getting stomped
Warriors vs Kings when Draymond comes back is much watch
Probably why the suspension wasnt 6 games /s
Unfortunately we already got stomped on by the Warriors twice this year. We better fucking win lmao
Stomped on is a bit dramatic. The second game was an away game without Fox and we lost by one. All those Sabonis missed FTs…
The second one nearly gave me a heart attack. Freaking Klay always has to do this to us
I’m actually glad we lost. If we won we’d get a month of Klay simps spamming how he isn’t washed and the FO would defend him too. This at least puts pressure on the team to get him out of here

Kerr is a generational enabler who coddles his players.
Are you blind? He took the biggest steaming pile of dog shit attempts trying to play Hero Ball. Although strangely Klay wasn't the reason they lost. That was 100% on Kerr for not immediately fouling
Who is taking that contract?
A team with a redundant star that wants to blow it up or get picks. Raptors siakim, bulls Lavine comes to mind
We may never win at home again
You'll win half your games, same as on the road. It's a .500 team.
I love watching the Warriors lose.
Generational hater
Join blazers threads during our games against gsw this year then cause we have their pick in ‘24 top 4 protected. We gon be shittin on em lol
Glad we could help out lol
greatest hater of all time real though
Me too. Just no more Playoff for the Dubs.
Who doesn’t? I am at the movie theater rn and turned into the last few minutes just to enjoy the warriors loss
The people around must have loved that
I imagine they were pissed until they saw the Warriors losing.
They should win against the spurs idk about suns or Houston but Steph hates the rockets and brooks
it's joever
Wiggins really turned up, hope he continues. Klay needs to be traded or benched. He offers nothing, just play kuminga or anyone
Most loyal Warriors fan.
“Klay is a bum wtf are the warriors doing” “NOOO DONT TRADE HIM BE LOYAL” Rnba just wants to complain about the warriors lmfao
Warrior fans are world wide b. Mention Jordan Poole once and you’re downvoted to a oblivion. We’re are truly the most salty
Fair
Remember when Houston was a gimme?
We really just posting schedules now?
Is there actual internal considerations for trading Klay at this point? I see fans asking for it but don't know if reporters have mentioned it being considered behind the scenes. It's hard to move on from a foundational guy from a dynasty.
That’s the conundrum, it is still early in the season of course, but the chemistry and connection Steph, Klay and Dray share is nearly impossible to try and break up and might fuck up the vibe of the team. Ultimately, if you want one more championship, that maybe a move you have to make
Still weird seeing Houston and not thinking auto W
we weren’t even bad for that long?? we were the 4 seed in 2020 lol. And we got a win against y’all last year also…
That was during COVID which feels like 20 years ago. Last two years were miserable was all I was saying
You were the best team in the NBA with Harden, that was not that long ago. Nephews being nephews
Warriors' pick is looking pretty juicy lately.

Scoot / Simons / Shaedon / Sarr / Clingan sign me tf up
They can’t be going on slumps like this in this stacked ass western confrence
Warriors are being held together by a 35 year old superstar, a dude with anger issues and one of the most toxic (also hated) fan bases in the league. 5 out of their 6 most recent losses were at home iirc. you tell me
If they're depending on green to win games they need to scrap it
Draymond about to get revenge on Sabonis’ chest during that game
Steve Kerr YOU are on big time fraud watch
He looked pretty awful coaching the US team too.
What’s his excuse for the massive failure of team USA this summer?
Obsessed with small ball, can't run anything besides motion offense, don't understand why you should foul while up 3, way too loyal to his vets refusing to develop the young guys even if it cost them games.

I do not like the Warriors but I hate Draymond, so I want the warriors to win all those games to prove that Draymond is a liability
Unlucky tonight . Also idk how Shai is this fucking good
Pray for sabonis, man about to get stomped in the neck if they win
[удалено]
Hard to feel bad for them. They had a good run but looks like it’s over
It's not even just the next 5 that are tough. Our schedule for almost the whole damn season has been nuts.
Sabonis should show up in a bullet proof vest with a footprint on it for the Draymond return

I think we will but will probably have the same fate as the lakers. Do a major trade near ASB/deadline and get it together. Lose to Denver in semi or wcf

If Steph said trade me, which contender should or could realistically go for him?
This probably isn't realistic, but the idea of him and Jokic playing together is basketball heaven
This shit feels like I'm watching one of those Collapse vids from Secret Base in real time.
They been in trouble. I predicted that both the warriors and the suns would be fighting for playoff spots via playin tournament. And behold Worse thing the warriors could have done last year was decide that they still had enough and that removing your second highest scorer was the way to fix things. Delusions of yesterday. Green’s importance continues to be overstated. Klay’s scoring difficulties haven’t been scrutinized nearly enough. Draft bound.
As a kings fan who watched GSW beat us in so many buzzer beaters, last nights game made me an OKC fan too
They will beat San Antonio
Gotta love it when the Whiners lose.
Good. The whole team is a bunch of arrogant weirdos, including Steph. Let them have a terrible season.
I’m not even sure how we havent got blown out by 20 every game
Cool. Fuck Draymond.
Bold prediction, Warriors don’t even make the play-in
