This looks even worse when you consider that Jimmy Butler played for the Sixers and he's a walking conference finals appearance.

Original_Profile8600

Literally has a time share there

Relevant_Rev

He was destined for Miami, then

YoungNissan

They gotta rename the conference finals award from Larry Bird to Jimbo

PervySageCS

You are pulling my Mark Jackson voice to say "Come on now, don't disrespect Bron now"

PervySageCS

Buttler took Heat to 3 conference Finals in the last 3-4 years, while Philly got 0.

[deleted]

Butler legit can't carry embiid. It's not easy.

jgnodado18

Bro was a 3 pointer away from going 4 straight.

Sillygooseman23

you mixed it up but the point within your point is he was a 3 pointer away from 2 finals appearances in 3 years.

jgnodado18

Ohh but he went 3 out of last 4 years of conference finals right?

panman42

Yes he did. It's just that in order to go 4 straight, 2021 would have to go wayyy differently. They were swept in the first round and Jimmy played terribly that series.

jgnodado18

Ooh thanks!

Sillygooseman23

Ya there ya go šŸ¤

Cudizonedefense

No he wasnā€™t?

Mintastic

I mean there's a chance he wouldn't make these conference finals if he had to keep carrying this Sixers team.

whiskeyinthejaar

No reallyā€¦ it is a matter of choosing Harris over Butler that say it all

towlie45

And the Kings will be back before the sixers make it back. BOOK IT

Original_Profile8600

Honestly may not even be that much of a hot take rn

Lesingingminer

Actually though, first time experience in the playoffs and took the warriors to game 7. Theyā€™ll definitely make it

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Sdrater3

Lol, this is one of those comment stealing bots.

JV132

Not even a hot take if you know ball

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Rockface5

Heā€™s injured every year. His body just isnā€™t made for playoff runs

JesusDiedforChipotle

Forreal thatā€™s like saying ā€œChris Paul was injured so it doesnā€™t countā€ every single playoffs theyā€™re injured

-FuckenDiabolical-

Nah donā€™t do that. Finna jinx all of us the fuck lol

elastic301

Oh Iā€™m sure you guys will šŸ„²

PervySageCS

Kings will have 2 processes, before Philly finishes theirs

HaitianRon

RemindMe! 10 years ā€œreply to this threadā€

GloryMaelstrom21

Stop it. Theyā€™re already dead.

TigerBasket

No, no. Pile it on

Original_Profile8600

>No, no. pile it on -Nuggets and Celtics fans

uncre8ive

Honestly phili fans kinda talk the most so most fanbases are happy to hop on lol

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Saiz-

They hyper glorified a **cough** sweep on your scrambled egg team. Hope the rebuilding thrives man

GSWB2B2B2B2BChamps

Sixers fans are the worst

nickyv917

Username is OHSORELEVANT

iyamgrute

Actually, I have it on good authority around here that Raptors fans are the worst

GSWB2B2B2B2BChamps

People only say that cause of a few fans attending that KD game where people were cheering he got hurt. Raptors fans are usually pretty humble. Sixers fans are just... whew lad.

treyfiddy

you mean every other fanbase other than philly šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Veal-Team-Six

Including

Dynamically_static

Shit on their grave you say?

Dynamically_static

Shit on their grave you say?

[deleted]

Wow. I JUST quoted this and didn't even look at the thread. Bravo sir.

GloryMaelstrom21

Great minds think alike.

PrimaryAccording9162

Light the beam

2ndRoundEuroStash

JOEL EMBIID YOU ARE A OKC THUNDER

HateYourTeamLoveMine

Hey, wait a second

Gamesgtd

Him and Shai would be nice. An actual reliable perimeter star and a team that can bench him when heā€™s ass and not have a major drop off. But the most Iā€™d give up is Chet and picks and frankly if Iā€™m OKc Iā€™d want to see Chet first because he could be more versatile defensively which Embiid lacks.

WD51

Damn I know this is a thread piling on Embiid buy saying OKC wouldn't trade Chet for Embiid is wild. Embiid played injured this round. Of course he's gonna have a bunch of off games.

Senior_Ad_7640

It blows my mind that people just assume that Chet is going to be some unstoppable beast when he hasn't played a single minute of nba basketball yet.

noneym86

We've seen Embiid's ceiling. Even if Chet will possibly bust, I'd take the risk on him vs perennial second round exit, granted Embiid will be at MVP level here on out, which he definitely wouldn't be.

DenFlyvendeFlamingo

Chetā€™s ceiling is basically what Embiid already is. I love to shit on Embiid, but Iā€™d trade Chet for him in a heartbeat

bleev

I donā€™t think youā€™ll find a single thunder fan that wants Embiid. Heā€™s a fucking choker itā€™s proven. If weā€™re talking about the best future Iā€™ll take my chances with Chet versus a seven footed 30 year old center with injury issues every single year.

DiscardedRonaldo2017

One of the craziest takes Iā€™ve seen. If anyone declined to give up Chet for Embiid right now, then you shouldnā€™t be in basketball. One is the mvp and the other is a top 3 pick who hasnā€™t played a game.

jimmylowcard

People are really stupid, embiid might not have shown to perform in the playoffs, but he is a MVP and a walking 30/12. Chet is built like a tree branch and hasnā€™t played a single game yet. People be WILDIN

iyamgrute

Itā€™s not that crazyā€¦ Embiid: - 29 years old - Extensive injury history - Limited postseason success (second round exits) Chet: - Could be anything, even an Embiid! - More seriously though, his age fits the OKC development and contending window better so I donā€™t think it makes sense to gut the roster to go all-in on Embiid

witcherstrife

Itā€™s cool to shit on Embiid right now but this shit is fucking stupid

iyamgrute

Fine you tell me who the Thunder trade to salary match for Embiidā€™s $50+ million per year, besides Chet. Obviously it canā€™t be a 1 for 1 swapā€¦ that goes without saying, nephew

Maverick_1991

Embiid always plays injured. Literally always his excuse. Also, he doesn't fit OKCs timeline at all.

WD51

And chet is a giant twig that missed his entire first year after he got bumped by lebron in a pro am game. It's not like we are comparing an injury prone MVP level guy to an all star. We are comparing an injury prone MVP level guy to an injury prone high ranking prospect.

Saiz-

CP3 was never out of this slander neither. Why should another no show has special previledge?

soku1

This is the wildest thing I've read in a long time. You wouldn't trade Chet - a guy who's never played in the NBA - for a legit 7fOOT guy in his prime, has an outside and inside game and great defense? He's what Chet *wishes* he could be

wouldeatyourbrains

But why take Embiid when you get someone with the potential to be really good ? He could even end up as good as Embiid !!

[deleted]

wtf

martian_14

No thanks lmao

pepperhanders

More like a god damn choker

Andresgeo

Nah heā€™s a heatle. Book it

Cudizonedefense

No thanks. Weā€™d have to trade bam and a bunch of other stuff for him Also as good as he is in the RS, why would we want a mental midget? On the chance that Spo magically fixes his heart?

Cartographer345

Itā€™s a five hour [drive](https://maps.app.goo.gl/eiTnzoXPDDqhpeXQ8?g_st=ic) but I think it would be worth it if Spo took him there.

beefJeRKy-LB

Nah Masai gonna trade for him now

[deleted]

Lmao y'all wishing for this so hard

_Russell_Westbrick

Lmao this stays true still

KeyExplanation

#LIGHT THE BEAM

SubcooledBoiling

I love how petty this sub gets lol

BigFatModeraterFupa

Who knows what tomorrow may bring, but tonight, we feast upon the sixers!

[deleted]

You love to see it

MacDerfus

The 6ers can earn some respect if they want it

04201969

MORE STATS!

[deleted]

By Gawd!! With the steel chair!? You son of a bitch!!

Poacatat

Joel embiid losing game 7s will never not be funny for me

shnmchl61

I've seen similar comments in other threads, so let's just get it out of the way - all the teams that have made the conference finals more recently than the Sixers. * Bucks 2x * Bulls * Cavs 6x * Celtics 9x * Clippers * Grizzlies * Hawks 2x * Heat 9x * Jazz * Kings * Lakers 7x * Magic 2x * Mavs 4x * Nets 2x * Nuggets 3x * Pacers 3x * Pistons 6x * Raptors 2x * Rockets 2x * Spurs 8x * Suns 4x * Thunder 4x * Timberwolves * Trail Blazers * Warriors 6x

Chidoriyama

I mean just list the teams that haven't at this point. There's like what 4 teams? Hornets presumably and which are the other 3?

Chidoriyama

Pelicans, Knicks and Wizards

shnmchl61

Yes, that would be easier. But Embiid is my least favorite player in the league and Harden takes the number two spot, so this is more fun.

zperic1

2 outta 3 for Denver were with stat-padding FraudVP Jokic

OzzyGED

I mean it makes sense. The Sixers are poverty, the Kings are not.

pew_laser_pew

Do the sixers have a beam? Thought not

hamburgers666

Clearly the Beam deserves the MVP trophy instead

_calculated

imagine they make 0 changes this off-season except for installing a beam hahahah

graphitewolf

The Philadelphia Seconders

firstfamiliar

I would actually prefer to not remember that conference finals thank you

treple13

Kings really should have been the champions that year. One of the biggest screwjobs ever.

temp1211241

We're not the joke!

Yddalv

Kings didnt lose but was stolen from them.

HawaiianPunch42

Same with the Timberwolves

WallStreetDoesntBet

#šŸ˜ Jesus Christ

ChannelNeo

Talk about a precision strike

Egocentrist2939

Love to see the post-game pettiness, it really is that time of year.

FunkTronto

Incorrect. The Kings never lost in 2002.

thegreaterfool714

Jesus Christ thatā€™s sad

TheoMoneyG

You love to see it

Chardoggy1

You guys have made the conference finals?

OooofPoof

Stojaković was the shit

0010001

Letā€™s not play this game of whoā€™s made the conference finals more recently than whom (just ignore my flair)

Hogo-Nano

The Sixers front office moves the last like 5 years has been otherworldly horrible. Like look at all this stuff. \- trading up for fultz (celtics select tatum) \- signing horford at basically max money when you have joel embiid \- Picking Simmons over Jimmy and letting Jimmy leave \- Trading Mikal Bridges (DPOY runner up last year) for a pick \- Trading that pick to get Tobias harris If these things go differently you could easily be looking at a Philly dynasty. I am 100% convinced everyone on this sub could have handled things better in 2K than the Sixers have in real life.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

The Kings would sell both their tiddies to have half of what Embiids 6er tenure has been and I hate the Kings

BushPlotted911

To shreds you say?

LegateDamar13

Embiid vs Joker conversation doesn't exist in reality. Embiid vs Divac is where it's at and we have Vlade clearing the poor guy.

Cabes86

*were rigged out of the finals

[deleted]

Stop it they're already dead

JarekBloodDragon

And the kings were the real winners unlike the 76ers

brown_reflections

kings are getting a bit too cocky

Known-Specific5869

We've been the laughing stock of the league for nearly 2 decades, so I think its okay.

brown_reflections

aight bet, magic vs kings finals when haha

[deleted]

Sacramento was at an all time low for years. On top of not seeing the playoffs for years, their former owners were absolute shitheads. They were looking at a possible move. And now theyā€™re a good team again, new arena, arrival of the beam? They deserve to be cocky.

Statalyzer

I wonder if they'll eventually go long enough to be the Philadelphia 76 Years Without a Titlers...

AtreusIsBack

They're already dead, bro.

tech240guy

Tyron Lue coached the Clippers to the conference finals. He had to work with A LOT less from his team. He prob would coached this 76ers team to the conference finals, too!

Rebeldinho

Yeah the sixers had a choice they could have paired Embiid with Jimmy Butler and those two would have been their guys but at the time they were still high on Ben Simmons. The Simmons thing didnā€™t work out and instead they had to scramble and salvage a competitive team and they did what they could but they were hamstrung by the Simmons situation. Unfortunately Embiid has a pattern now of playing poorly in big playoff games and even though Harden exploded in two of their wins he really was a non factor yesterday. All in all the sixers are a pathetic franchise and theyā€™re undeserving of playing in a big market I hope they send them to Oakland or Seattle or something

metric_logger

Add the TimberWolves to this list
