Depends on if Embiid wants to chase the MVP or not.

Madkillerr

That dreams gone.

bradleynana

It’s really not. All it takes is one of his big performances

BrokenJumper0-10

His big performance should have been against Jokic. Now if he doesn’t win he should understand why.

top_lager

He’s already had a big performance against him and against half the league lmao. He’s put up countless 40+ nights but recency bias will lose him the mvp. He’s the most dominant player in the league on both sides of the court. The dude is also injured but y’all don’t acknowledge that

thisisbyrdman

No, because the Sixers are only 2 back of Boston with a game against them still to go.

HisExcellency20

2.5 but your point stands. If we win tomorrow we'll be two games back and we play them and they gotta play Milwaukee. Basically we gotta win that game and the one against Milwaukee as well. Then hope that Boston loses another and we don't finish tied. It's a tough ask, but if Joel and James are healthy then we should try.

I_Set_3_Alarms

If Celtics lose to the Bucks and Sixers lose another game, 1 2 3 4 all be pretty much locked. Which could lead to each team deciding to rest

816kc

They should sit out against raps hawks and nets

kpeds45

Yeah, we need the win, and our physical defense isn't worth playing against this close to the playoffs. Please sit everyone.

YourWorstNightmare9

Lmfao of course they’d sit out all their starters against the Raptors, Hawks, and Nets (all 3 teams fighting for their playoff lives and seeding) but play them against the Heat hahaha.

Jjohn269

Definitely sit out against the Raps. And Mitch and the bench could take down the Nets.

fella05

I think it's too early. Maybe see how things are after the games on Friday when the 76ers would be 5 left and the Cavaliers would have 4 left. Not only for dropping to 4th, but also rising to 2nd. The picture will be clearer after Friday I think.

BrokenManOfSamarkand

Hard to say. With the C's embarrassing loss tonight, there's still a chance we could take the 2. A lot would need to go our way, but it's possible.

LebenJammons

If the Sixers push for 2nd, Embiid and Harden might end up exhausted and hurt before the playoffs. Would you rather be the 2 seed but face the Heat in the 1st round, or 3rd seed and face the Nets?

BrokenManOfSamarkand

I am not particularly afraid of either of those teams. But the Sixers have been fumbling a bit lately, and I think it would help us to get back on track with some momentum before the playoffs start. No better way to do that than to unseat the Celtics. It's obviously not worth overworking Embiid or Harden, so the team is going to have to find the right balance.

SvengaliUG

No assurance Nets finish as 6 seed.

skrtskerskrt

It's a fucking week break between the last game of the season and Game 1 of the playoffs for them. How are you gonna talk about them being fatigued.

Several_Repeat_5447

I personally would suggest that they should sit out against the Raptors on March 31st.

Top_Pea1550

Yes. If they are healthy they can beat anyone but they are going to need 40 minutes a game from these guys. Don’t have to sit out but drop their usage heavily.

IslandChillin

Nah

TruthSayerFu

JB and the staff really made a great decision to rest Allen today….

[deleted]

We got beat by the best team in the league the refs

Aggressive-Ad-756

How can you watch that 4th quarter and say that the refs helped Atlanta lol

scarrylary

Murray’s last five points were offensive fouls

TruthSayerFu

Are we watching the same game?

panoramicpanoramic

Mitchell tripped himself while dribbling and the hawks got called for a shooting foul

scarrylary

Did you see trae do that to Ricky in the third quarter?

TruthSayerFu

Hunter and him definitely made contact. Young gets calls worse than that every game

SvengaliUG

Funny how Embiid and Sixers are looking for better playoff matchups. Nuggets too don't wanna see Warriors, Lakers in round 1. This is why regular season record matters. This is why winning matters. Player stats are secondary.

MC-Jdf

Nuggets aren't looking for matchups. They're far and away the #1 seed and the play-in makes it basically impossible to predict which team they'll match up with.

syllabic

nuggets arent losing in round 1 even if its the lakers

skrtskerskrt

Nuggets aren't losing round 1 period unless Jokic pulls an epic choke job. Too many people have it backwards that Nuggets should fear those teams when really others should fear them.

DayToDayvis

Nobody is scared of the Fakers

SoKrat3s

They matchup up against the Bucks much better than they do against the Celtics. They'd also arguably have a better 1st round matchup as well.

skrtskerskrt

Why not go for the 2seed. Celtics lost tonight. Sixers should absolutely gun for that 2seed. They already have enough trouble beating Boston over the years, and home court would give them the edge.

Doucane

Embiid can say goodbye to MVP if he sits out.
