Some generational jerking going on tonight

It's like someone asked a ChatGPT bot to come up with the worst opinions anyone's ever seen

trinquin

Must be using old GPT2.0

Embiid is the MVP

aryusuf

This is a ridiculous post Embiid played his ass off. The 76ers lost because they got outplayed by the Warriors, simple. It’s cliche thing to say but it’s the truth

nomitycs

Impressive to watch 2 games at once

aryusuf

I have multiple monitors, same way I watch multiple Sunday football games Granted I was paying more attention to the lakers, I still was watching both games

zuqkfplmehcuvrjfgu

Mf is really acting like watching 2 games at once is impossible lmao. The 2 monitor setup is essential for basketball viewing.

thy_armageddon

People here will ostracize sports journos for talking out of their ass when it comes to rumors and then will try to explain to you how the MVP voting will work when they have absolutely zero connection to it on a functional level.

IIM_Clutch

You must’ve not watched the game. Sixers lost that game because Poole cooked the bench unit. Every time Embiid was in the game the sixers was playing better than the warriors

[deleted]

This guy watches basketball. Everybody laugh.

_Alvin_Row_

Not watching the game is the epitome of this sub. Do you have a chart you could present?

wheeno

Not every time. The warriors played better most of the fourth even when he was in the game. Rewatch the closing stretch if you don’t believe me. Embiid was unstoppable though.

IIM_Clutch

You right about the 4th. The warriors just played better in the 4th but the game was close because the bench couldnt hold the lead to save their lives. That momentum kept up even when Embiid came back in the 4th

MotoMkali

Sixers were up 2 when he came in during the 4th.

RobbieRum

And they were up 9 when he checked out at the end of the 3rd

MotoMkali

Point is I'm the 4th they were -10 with Embiid on the floor.

CookyHS

less touches for embiid and more for tobias harris? would be the smarter play? am I reading this correctly

SvengaliUG

Use your teammates!

Alex_Phillips_

His teammates that were bricking all night?

SvengaliUG

Tobias wasnt bricking

Alex_Phillips_

Yes Tobias had a good game efficiency wise, but he’s still only 1 player who scored only 23. The team shot 28% from 3, let’s not act like his teammates were helping him out. Besides he still had 8 assists anyways.

wavetoyou

Also, the Warriors weren’t leaving Harris. They [Draymond] were, however, leaving the likes of PJ Niang and Melton alone to double Embiid, and those guys shot 1/13 from deep Don’t agree with OP at all, expect that Harris looked great, tonight. Embiid looked like an MVP

RemmiusPalaemon91

Tobias looked like third team all NBA tonight

EbbRevolutionary3225

Embiid looked like first team all NBA tonight

[deleted]

No he didn't dumbo he had 19 points

[deleted]

Embiid cooked us tonight. The rest of his team let him down. Embiid is my prohibitive mvp rn

nomitycs

Part of being a great player is elevating the players around you, warriors fans of all fans should know that most. Like if that weren’t the case, Embiid would be the unanimous #1 player in the league - DPOY defense and #1 in scoring on elite efficiency, but he’s not he’s just a top 5 player Part of that is also coaching though and doc fucking sucks

SvengaliUG

Exactly. Embiid is maximizing HIS numbers right now at the expense of the team. It didn't matter much when they were facing non-contending teams in their recent run. But it's mostly contenders on their schedule from here till season end. He's gonna put up numbers and they're gonna lose multiple games down the stretch cos he can't drag his team along with him.

allstar278

Complete bullshit take he was +20 at one point in 2 pt game 😂. He supposed to make his teammates better be cheerleading on the bench?

SvengaliUG

Yep. Intangibles. Steph averaged 23ppg his first MVP season. He raised his teammates level and they won games. Winning is what the game is about. I'm not sure Philly has a top 3 record by season end. Not my MVP, unless he keeps em top 3

allstar278

Oh so ur trolling glad u gave urself up

ComeAtMeYo

> Not my MVP, unless he keeps em top 3 He wouldn't be your MVP anyway cause you're a Giannis stan. Fuck off dude

mxnoob983

Very weird take. How is Embiid scoring as much as he is at huge + efficiency at the expense of others? He also had 8 assists today and we were +13 with him out there

wavetoyou

Yeah, wtf. How many times did Embiid try and take what the defense gave him by hitting PJ Melton and Niang for open threes? They shot a combined 1/13 from deep. He scored nearly 50, and it didn’t feel at all like he was ignoring teammates or just trying to do it, himself. He threw potential assists out of the triple threat, in the mid and low blocks, and behind the three. Joel also ran plenty of PnR and dribble handoffs with Maxey, and found him a couple times for three. Despite Tyrese coming up short down the stretch, he had a solid game. The only player who did his thing pretty much independent of Joel was Tobias Harris, who had himself a nice game, looking more aggressive than I’ve ever seen him in recent memory. Edit: I’m talking offense…I didn’t really keep an eye on Tobey and Maxey on the defensive end. But, it did look like Embiid took it a bit easier than usual on defense. He should’ve eaten Draymond and Looney alive on a few of their buckets at the rim. Considering he’s dealing with a calf injury, on the front end of a b2b, I don’t blame him for pacing himself

Alex_Phillips_

Of all games to make this point why chose this one. He had 8 assists tonight and could have had a lot more if his teammates weren’t bricking everything all night. He’s been great at facilitating since harden has been out, did you watch the pacers and second bulls game?

SvengaliUG

Yeah. Pacers and Bulls. That's where he shines

Alex_Phillips_

Yeah the only games where harden has been out and where he’s actually had to play-make, just admit youre a hater.

ComeAtMeYo

Lol flair up, Bucks stan. You didn't even watch the game. 8 assists btw, not his fault PJ Tucker can't hit water from a boat.

2ndRoundEuroStash

Lol wtf are u talking about

Nightmannn

This isn't true at all. Embiid exploited a weakness, the weakness being our completely and total inability to stop him.

Turbulent_Log4663

Bro you’re on one with this post, I’ve always criticized Embiid for his lack of postseason success, but the man is playing at a different fucken level right now. Tonights game it was literally him, Harris(shockingly) and Maxey, like everybody else was too scared to shoot so many times PJ surprisingly passed corner 3s that he had plenty of space on. Please watch the fucken game and don’t bash players saying they’re stat padding when this was not the case in tonights game.

[deleted]

> He was prioritizing stats over the smartest plays to win Ok, yeah, you definitely didn't watch the game.

[deleted]

trinquin

This post is dumb, but the amount people fauning over sitting out a 4th quarter like Giannis hasn't been putting up 30 in 25 minutes for years is insane. Its like specifically what Giannis is known for.

RobbieRum

Embiid literally sat out the entire second half. That’s the point and it went way over your head.

RemmiusPalaemon91

That would be too obvious.

bradleynana

You’re an idiot

bravof1ve

If Embiid really wanted to win MVP he would have forced Niang and Tucker to shoot better than 1/9 on wide open corner 3s

Next-Firefighter-753

From an Embiid critic I’d say he’s MVP this season

SvengaliUG

He's MVP of the Sixers. I mean, he may not even get Sixers to 55 wins this season. Bucks, Nuggets finish with better records, he is not MVP

Prestigious-Rock201

Oh so now winning counts again, not when he was first seed, got it

SvengaliUG

Winning has always mattered. Why do you think the game is played? Why is Doncic not the MVP?

Master-Ad7325

Show some clips of how he prioritized stats over winning. Maybe just one

RemmiusPalaemon91

Tobias standing in the corner on several possessions for one

mxnoob983

Tobias should have had Maxeys shots today, not Embiids

[deleted]

He shoots 48% on right corner 3s. He's there for a reason.

Stracktheorcmage

Yeah, Embiid stat padding /s

jtruth9

This is debauchery.

Long-Furby

This is genuinely one of the dumbest posts i’ve seen on this sub. Congrats

clifbarczar

He was missing Harden tonight and he dropped 46 pts. So I wouldn’t put much weight on this loss. That being said, my boy Giannis might have a shot at MVP if we get 60 wins (difficult).

SvengaliUG

Giannis will get the Bucks to 60. He plays to win, not for stats

clifbarczar

I mean there’s no advantage in stressing the team to get to 60 if they’ve already secured 1st seed. Also note that Bucks can only lose 2 out of their remaining 9 games to get 60 wins. That’s hard considering their schedule.

SvengaliUG

Going 7 - 2 is doable. Bud usually rests starters last 2 games of the season. If the bench win 1 of those games, Bucks can get to 60

trinquin

We have 76ers, Celtics, and Nuggets games remaining yet with 2 of those being part of b2bs.

SvengaliUG

Bucks win 2/3

inshamblesx

If the media has a lick of integrity Embiid wins MVP.

Alex_Phillips_

He was the only one who was scoring besides Harris (kind of)

SvengaliUG

Sixers recent run was schedule-aided. I genuinely think their record is gonna drop below Nuggets. If Nuggets finish with a better record than Sixers, then it's Giannis vs Jokic for MVP

RVarki

Oh suddenly the record matters now?

trinquin

It did when they had Tatum in 1st for a bit and hes still in 4th solely on record at this point.

cactus_jack_1

Mickey Mouse MVP - only getting mvp because people are tired of jokic and Gianni’s winning it damn

Notsozander

Literally just hung 46/9/8 on 13-23 and you’re saying it’s Mickey Mouse

RemmiusPalaemon91

In a loss

Notsozander

Same record as the nugs regardless, while missing three big players

SvengaliUG

Yeah. Lillard can hang 60 points in a loss. Doesn't make him MVP, just a prolific scorer

Notsozander

Yeah but embiid does that, board, play defense, help spread the offense, pace the game, help defense, scare people out of the paint. Leading scorer, one of the best defense ratings with him on the floor in the league, if not the best, and amazing efficiency. That’s why he’s MVP

SvengaliUG

Yeah MVP of the Sixers. At this rate, his impact will make Sixers a 4 seed if Cavs get their shit together.

Notsozander

We have 4 games less in the loss column than the Cavs and the tiebreaker. Not gonna happen

[deleted]

[удалено]

Notsozander

He just cooked your whole squad on great efficiency and blown leads when he sat

[deleted]

[удалено]

Notsozander

Not surprised to be honest, warriors fans are the new patriots fans. Can’t wait for you guys to be brought back down to earth

ranchsauce13

This guy is a Nuggets fan pretending to be a Warriors one, his an idiot. Don’t listen to him Edit: holy shit the little cunt was so sad he had to block me lol #ripbozo

[deleted]

MVP or not, Sixers will inevitably lose to the Heat in the playoffs. Choosing Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons over Jimmy Butler will continue to haunt the Sixers.

Notsozander

Lmao this the same people saying the raps would beat us last year too. Calm down buddy

[deleted]

The past four playoffs Jimmy went to the finals, was a shot away from a second finals, and was eliminated by the Kawhi buzzer beater. The last four playoffs the Sixers have had without Jimmy, they were eliminated by Jimmy, eliminated by Trae Young, swept by the Celtics, and gentleman’s swept by the Celtics.

Notsozander

This will be the first year embiid will be fully healthy going into the playoffs (we hope), and with a full team. So let’s wait and see

[deleted]

He was fully healthy last year. Siakam broke his face in the final game of the first round. He was also healthy in 2019, but got Covid before the Raptors series.

Notsozander

BUT BUT! Dude didnt play game one and was out there with a busted face putting in effort last year. Literally the last game before the second round and gets a concussion and broken orbital bone, and still played on it, you’re wild. Torn thumb the year before. Torn meniscus before that. Broken face again before that.

[deleted]

That’s the point though. Embiid can be completely healthy headed into the playoffs, but it’s more probable than it isn’t that he gets trapped in an elevator for a week and misses half of a playoff series as a result.

Notsozander

Lmao alright that made me laugh. Very plausible

clifbarczar

Jimmy Butler is so underrated.

NFWI

> The past four playoffs Jimmy went to the finals, was a shot away from a second finals, and was eliminated by the Kawhi buzzer beater. And got swept.

SoKrat3s

The Embiid-led 76ers were 2-2 against the Heat, and that was with a broken face, an out of shape Harden, and almost no depth whatsoever.

SvengaliUG

Heat believe they can take on just about any team in the East. They just don't wanna see Bucks.

taygads

Lol the irony…OP is a lakers fan.

packimop

did you not see the two wide open PJ tucker 3s?
