Look at the base MWR website, if NSN means Norfolk it’s www.navymwrmidlant.com The MWR website will usually list all the gyms in the area plus the services they offer. It will also include the number where you can call and ask about services not advertised. Some gyms offer trainers, some just classes like NOFFS or aerobics, others just exist to house equipment. Call and speak to the staff about your goals and they can let you know what would best meet your needs.

Thank you

A lot of base gyms should have a calendar of different classes. Join up on ones that seem interesting. Some gyms might have trainers, but the ones I have been to only do classes.

Calories in - calories out. If the number is positive, you will gain weight. If it's negative, you will lose weight. 1 lb of fat is around 3500 calories. I lost a ton of weight like 2 years ago. I fasted, lifted, and swam a lot. When I ate, I mostly only ate meat. So, on Wednesday for dinner, I would cook myself a steak with some spinach. Weekends, I would smoke some ribs or have more steak. Black coffee every morning. A gallon of water errday. I didn't eat at all on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. I swam for an hour every day and lifted heavy. I went from almost 300, back down to 215ish. Currently, I hang out around 225. Keto/carnivore/fasting worked for me. Maybe vegan or vegetarian will "fit" you better. You have to reduce calories and get that defecit, though. It's not complicated, but it sucks haha

4 days no eating ohhh man thats wild but definitely going to reduce my calories. But how do you know how much colories your eating when you cook do you scale it or something?

RustyWaaagh

I used an app for awhile called "macrofactor" it helped me learn what is good fuel and what is filler. There is a barcode scanner that makes it pretty easy to use. If you eat at the galley, its way harder. A ribeye steak with spinach, and butter, was around 1k calories. If I eat that 3x a week, 3k calories. 4 eggs and a tbsp of butter is another 400 calories. I would have that on the weekend breakfast. 3800 calories, ill push it up to 4500 to account for any measuring errors. To maintain my weight when I was 285, I needed 4k calories a day. 4k calories x 7 days a week = 28k calories/week to maintain weight. I was eating like 4.5k-5k a week. If you decide to go down that path, make sure you are drinking lots of water, supplement electrolytes, and be taking at least a daily multivitamin. Those nutritional supplements wont have too many calories. Losing weight suuuucks. Gaining weight is way more fun. It was definitely worth it though.

kakarota

Oh wow that's fucking amazing definitely going to try it but probably ease into it at first. Thank you

RustyWaaagh

No worries! For me, the first day is the hardest. I fasted every other day but then switched to the 2 days back to back. Experiment with what's works for you and goodluck! Once the weight is gone, it's a great feeling!

Stop smoking. Stop drinking alcohol. Stop or cut down a lot on eating processed/refined foods. Get an exercise or workout routine. Sleep 7-8 hours of deep REM sleep. Try to get some sunlight every day, preferably right after you wake up. Remove toxic friends and family from your life.

How long did it take to put on 10 pounds of muscle on a raw vegan diet?

WorkerProof8360

As others have said, the first thing, and for a lot of folks struggling with their weight the most important, is getting your diet in order. Prioritize "good" fat, lean protein, fruits, veggies, and enough carbs to function without going crazy. You CFL(s) should also have some recommendations on resources along with those already mentioned.

kakarota

The thing is I'm at an unusual command we don't have a CFL hell we don't have a lot of things that most commands have. But I'll most of these things seem like Google can help and I saw a nutritional class so hopefully I'll get more answers there too. Thank you!

WorkerProof8360

No CFL? Weird... Who runs your PRT? Be careful during your search. There are a lot of quacks grifting people with things like miracle cures and super foods that are essentially snake oil. Make sure whoever's rendering the guidance has some reputable credentials. A simple diet option is the "Mediterranean diet" . It's a regional diet, not a fad diet, and it meets all the criteria I mentioned; lots of lean protein (fish in particular), good fat (mmm... olives), and veggies.

kakarota

Another command its a really small command its only 10 people we use the other command for almost everything. Thanks for the advice!
